Djokovic beats Nadal to win Australian Open

MELBOURNE -- World No. 1 Novak Djokovic won his third Australian Open title in the early hours of Monday when he outlasted Spain's Rafa Nadal 5-7 6-4 6-2 6-7 7-5 in an epic five hour, 53 minute match.
Djokovic, who won the title at Melbourne Park in 2008 and 2011, has now won five grand slam titles in total and continues his recent domination over the Spaniard, having beaten him in their last seven meetings, all in finals.
Djokovic fought back from losing the first set to take a 2-1 lead, but he was then taken to a gripping fifth set by resurgent Nadal before winning 5-7, 6-4, 6-2, 6-7 (5/7), 7-5 for his third consecutive major title.
Fourth set
Nadal saved three break points in the eighth game of the fourth set then waited out a 10-minute rain break before taking the fourth set 7-6.
Nadal had been facing the distinct possibility of defeat within five minutes when he was reduced to 0-40 while trailling 3-4 in the set but produced a fantastic backhand pass and three massive serves to claw his way back into the match, which prompted the crowd to break into tumultuous chants of "Rafa".
The players were then forced off the court as officials shut the roof on Rod Laver Arena after rain swept across central Melbourne and the ball boys and girls scrambled around on their knees with towels to dry the court.
Nadal then fed off the crowd that had swung behind him and, after seemingly been down and out returned to his fist pumping, competitive best and took the tiebreak 7-5 to send the match into a decider.
Third set
Djokovic had raced through the third set 6-2 as he began to wear the Spaniard down.
Djokovic set the tone when he blasted through the first game and held serve to love and while he had no break points on Nadal's first service game of the set, the Spaniard was forced to battle as the Serb forced three deuce points.
The world number one continued the pressure on Nadal's serve in the fourth game when he sealed the important break and then consolidated for a 4-1 lead when he again held his own serve to love.
Djokovic, who was stepping inside the court and attacking Nadal's top-spin forehand while compelling the Spaniard to play from deep behind the baseline, again pressured Nadal on serve then held his own serve to love to take a 5-2 lead.
He sealed the set when he broke Nadal to love in the next game and the momentum had definitely swung towards the defending champion.
Djokovic only dropped two points on serve in the 45-minute third set.

Second set

Djokovic's powerful forehand finally started to find its range as grabbed the second set 6-4 to level the match.
The Serb also put pressure on Nadal's serve at every opportunity and broke in the fourth game to take a 3-1 lead.
Nadal, though, had won the point of the match when he produced a stunning running backhand top-spin drive down the line that brought the crowd to their feet after a 15-shot rally that swept back and forth across the court.
Djokovic was serving for the set but was broken when he held two set points before he seized back the initiative in the next game and broke Nadal again to level when the Spaniard served his second double fault.

First set

Nadal broke the world number one twice in an error-ridden first set before he won it 7-5 to take the early lead.
Djokovic suffered a slight scare in the fourth game when he went over on his right ankle after attempting a slide, and went down to his haunches before he began to flex and roll it in circles at the end of the game.
Both players failed to really settle or stamp their authority on the match, though Djokovic had more opportunities to break the Spaniard's serve.
After breaking in the fifth game Nadal had to fight off Djokovic twice before the Serb broke in the eighth game, though Nadal seized back the advantage in the 11th game and sealed the opener on his third set point when a backhand return floated long. -- Reuters and Agence France-Presse

The Sour Sop (Guyabano) : The Miraculous Natural Cancer Cell Killer

Guyabano, the Sour Sop or the fruit from the graviola tree is a miraculous natural cancer cell killer 10,000 times stronger than Chemotheraphy.

I’ve read  Natural.tv, New Health, New Hope article CANCER KILLER – Natural Cancer Cell Killer 10,000 Times Stronger Than Chemo! I want this to share to everyone.

Why are we not aware of this? Its because some big corporation want to make back their money spent on years of research by trying to make a synthetic version of it for sale.

So, since you know it now you can help a friend in need by letting him know or just drink some sour sop juice yourself as prevention from time to time. The taste is not bad after all. It’s completely natural and definitely has no side effects. If you have the space, plant one in your garden.

The other parts of the tree are also useful.

The next time you have a fruit juice, ask for a sour sop.

This miracle fruit, heal all those who are suffering from the dreaded desease, cancer.

The fruit written about in this article is abundant and abound locally in the Philippines. We know it as the GUYABANO. It’s English name is SOUR SOP.

I remember that around10 years ago, when we were living in a place in Novaliches , we have plants and fruit trees we take care and enjoyed. We have there, Mango tree, Coconut tree, Atis tree and Guyabano tree. These trees grow well. If you have a backyard, or a big garden, you should plant these kind of fruit trees.

We eat the fruits always. We made guyabano delicious and nutritious shake. We really love guyabano shake!

The many other uses of  Guyabano, the Natural Cancer Cell Killer, it increase immune system, improves health and energy.

Beauty Stylist Celebrity Fanny Serrano for Novuhair: Nature's Answer to Hair Loss

A well known beauty stylist, hair care expert and celebrity Fanny Serrano shares the discovering proper and healthy caring for the hair, the best hair solution to help solve hair thinning and hair loss.

He said that he had a problem with hair loss and falling hair. While every morning as he see on his pillow lots of hair falls. He used to wear a small wig on top of his hair he called as "topper"  to hide his slowly receding hairline.

After tried many products , Fanny has found the solution to hair fall, NOVUHAIR. He said that he is blessed to discover NOVUHAIR Topical Scalp Lotion and NOVUHAIR Herbal Shampoo. He realized that this is not an ordinary beauty product but the real solution to hair problems., the natures's answer to hair loss.

Fanny also shares that caring with passion is his philosophy. He personally endorses the healthy hair formula based on his personal experiences of using the product.  He’s endorsing products only those that he believe and trust.

Aside from it helps stop hair fall, it nourishes the scalp, eliminates and prevents dandruff and scalp itchiness. It stimulate hair growth.

An advice to those who want to try NOVUHAIR products is to use it twice a day, in the morning and at night.

Here’s more, the myths, truths, and untruths, as detailed by medical expert for us to understand hair fall.

Hair fall: truths and untruths

Aside from old age, what’s one thing we enjoy noticing in others but wholly deny when it happens to ourselves? Old age’s sister: hair loss.

That’s right: that patch of space somewhere on your scalp, usually characterized by an unwelcome sheen and the threat of more of it to come.

Yet fear not, for every problem – perceived or otherwise – comes with it a solution. Before jumping over to that however, let us understand a couple of things about hair loss – the myths, truths, and how our proposed solution busts all the untruths, as detailed by  a hair and scalp medical expert in one of the leading hospitals in the Philippines.

Myth No. 1: Wearing hats can cause hair loss
This is untrue, unless the hats you wear – ever so often, and every day – are so tight, they cut off blood circulation to your scalp.

Myth No. 2: I suffer from hair loss – my hair falls out every day!
It’s natural to have your hair fall out every day. While it differs for everyone, a person loses an average of 50-100 hairs a day. Such only becomes a problem when the hair loss is frequent and in great volumes: upon waking from bed and noticing a handful of hair on your pillow, and during baths and showers when your tub gets clogged, for instance.

Myth No. 3: Shampooing every day causes hair loss
Again, each person differs when it comes to hair care and maintenance, so some may require everyday washing, while for others, once every two days is enough. Generally however, there is nothing about shampoos that may make it a cause for going bald.

Myth No. 4: Balding genes primarily come from the mother’s side of the family
Hair loss is genetic. Theoretically, you have an equal chance of getting it from your father’s side just as much as your mother’s side, even if science suggests a generally stronger inheritance of traits from the mother’s side.

Myth No. 5: There is no solution to hair loss
This may have been true in the past, but such is no longer the case today. Take it from beauty icon and hair care expert Fanny Serrano, who’s had the privilege not of suffering the problem himself, but of discovering the solution during a time when nothing seemed to be working.

Having built a name for himself in the beauty industry, losing hair was the last thing Fanny wanted to endure. Trying out every treatment at his disposable, then, was the most natural thing to do. When none of them worked, going to all the trouble of commissioning a wig was the next most sensible step to maintaining his image as an image doctor.

Fortunately for him, though, it was only a matter of time before fate revealed itself to be on his side. Stumbling upon Novuhair Topical Scalp Lotion one day, Fanny thought it worth another try. After all, by that point, the only thing he had to lose was his wig.

And sure enough, that was all he lost. Novuhair worked.

Made with natural, herbal ingredients including biotin, panax ginseng, moringa oleifera, and lavender, rosemary, peppermint, lemon grass, and virgin coconut oils, Novuhair contains chemically compatible properties that detoxify the scalp, limit hair fall, and stimulate hair growth by improving blood circulation to the scalp and increasing nutrition to hair follicles. All these ingredients are the real thing, effectively combined to remedy the true causes of hair fall. Studies have shown 100% of the respondents revealed no adverse side effects with continuous use. The lotion is clinically safe to use for 12-year-olds up.

Today, the myths and misconceptions have been busted. And yet they remain secondary. After all, what’s important is what everyone wants, and needs: a solution to their problem. And for a year now, that solution has been around for them to find: Novuhair Topical Scalp Lotion, nature’s answer to hair loss.

Novuhair is available at all Mercury Drug, Watsons, Rose Pharmacy, South Star, Manson and Cory Quirino World of Wellness stores, and online on www.regaloservice.com. Visit www.novuhair.com or call 413-6570 or 0922-883-0575 for more details.

BANAUE RICE TERRACES: Saving a Living Heritage

Join the Federation of Philippine Photographers Foundation and PhotoWorld Asia 2012 on a tour of Banaue and a trek to majestic Batad rice terraces, a very photogenic UNESCO heritage site in Ifugao!

Two thousand years ago, natives of Ifugao used the simplest of tools, and with their bare hands, dug into their reservoir of strength to build what the UNESCO has since recognized as a Cultural Heritage: the majestic Banaue Rice Terraces. But with progress and development looming on the side of the mountain, the Ifugaos are losing hold of their heritage. Traditions and rituals, once so deeply entrenched in the community, are slowly being forgotten or set aside. And the sense of pride of being a unique is becoming a struggle.

To make matters worse, a series of typhoons resulted in landslides that damaged the irrigation canals in some sections of the Ifugao rice terraces. The government has promised funds to help rebuild the terraces, but the Ifugaos are still waiting for the delivery of this promise. Some portions, especially in Batad (Batad is one such village and is famous for its amphitheater-like terraces rising to the mountaintops) cannot wait. Several paddies are now left parched and unutilized and there is the danger of the rocks and other debris further eroding and heading straight down to the village proper, where 45 families make their home.

With a great sense of urgency, the Ifugaos must act to tame the mountains, not only to help produce food but to provide a safe haven for its people. They must call on the spirit of cooperation called “Badchang” or “Ubbo,” that was once the driving force when the rice terraces were first built more than two thousand years ago. This time, they are no longer isolated by the mountains, and are getting offers of help – through the ubiquitous Facebook – from their native sons and daughters who now live in many parts of the world, as well as from non-Ifugao friends who share their love for Ifugao.

One such friend is John Chua, a Makati-based advertising photographer and long time friend of the Ifugaos, who is spearheading the move to revive the Bayanihan Spirit among the Ifugaos and develop Batad into a model Ifugao village – as an integrated and interactive tourist destination while preserving its cultural heritage. Following a unique tourism trend that is already happening in other parts of the world, John is bringing to Ifugao the concept of “voluntourism” (volunteerism and tourism). Volunteer-tourists will help provide manpower to rebuild the terraces, learning from Ifugao elders the technique of “rip-rap” (a way of arranging rocks to form a terrace wall), while being introduced to Ifugao culture and traditions.

To repair the damaged section of Batad Rice Terraces, the area must be cleared of the rocks, loose earth, mud and weeds left in the wake of the landslides. Then the structure must be rebuilt using the same materials that are collected. The work will be difficult because the area is sloping, quite steep and hazardous. But it is not impossible, especially since they would be under the supervision of Ifugao Elders who are experts in building rice terraces, an engineering feat acknowledged as one of the wonders of the world. Together, Ifugaos and friends of Ifugaos will work shoulder to shoulder not with paid labor, but following the traditional Ifugao community spirit of “Ubbo” or “Badchang” and today’s new world concept of “voluntourism.”

Fee to join the Banaue Trek is P3,500 to pay for transportation, meals and snacks, one night accommodation in Banaue (not that 5-star hotel!) and other incidental expenses for the 3-day event, payable now at the FPPF offices in Intramuros or at the FPPF Secretariat during PhotoWorld Asia 2012. You may also register online and pay via Banco De Oro by accomplishing the registration form below. The Banaue Trek is open to everybody, including non-delegates of the convention.

One Weekend Adventure Getaway!

One weekend, we went to a friend's secret vacation rest house in Mariveles Bataan, one of the best place for an adventure getaway. We spend the two days in a very relaxing and stress relieving place.

Traveling early morning
Enjoying the sights of the mountains
. . . mountains, valleys, tress, greens
Exciting entering the town
Walking to the far place
The sun filters through the trees
Entering the secret place

.... welcoming us by the energetic friends

. . .  by the different trees
. . .  different kinds of plants and flowers
I feel so happily united with the nature

I enjoyed the place, many interesting trees and plants,  flowers, valley and mountains around us. I feel so relaxed with the peaceful nature.  I breathe the clean, fresh air, scents of the trees. It feels cool but I feel the warm on my skin.

This is one of the most memorable trips after the long time of my rest. One of  my happiness being in a wonderful world. Those moments, those breathtaking sights captured my heart.

Kelly Clarkson Honors Etta James With Song During A Concert

Kelly Clarkson took a moment  during her concert at Radio City Music Hall in New York to give tribute to Etta James, the great R&B singer who passed away last Friday.

Kelly Clarkson told the audience that she would perform her favorite Etta James’ song, which is “I’d Rather Go Blind.” “So this is for Etta,” she said before beginning the song.
Clarkson has a special connection with James, because if it weren’t for her song, “At Last,” Clarkson could have possibly never caught the eyes and ears of the judges of Idol. She sang the song during her audition in Dallas for the very first season of Idol in front of judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson.

Etta James died on Friday, January 20, at Riverside Community Hospital from complications from leukemia. The 'At Last' singer passed away at the age of 73.
