Hot and humid days ahead according to PAGASA? Here are some tips to keep yourself refreshed at home!

The summer heat and humidity brought by frequent thunderstorms can definitely be felt. But don't worry— according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), this is not yet rainy season. Temperatures in Metro Manila and the rest of the country would continue to rise in the days ahead despite the unpredictable thunderstorms.*

It’s usual to drink water, wear light colored clothes, and eat fruits and vegetables that have high water content during this season. But in this scorching tropical heat, what else can we do to be summer-ready?

Here are some useful home tips:

● Consider replacing old air conditioners at home.

If your old aircon still cools slowly even after thorough cleaning of a professional, then maybe it’s time to consider replacing it with a new one. Samsung Air conditioners has a Digital 8-Pole inverter technology, that can give faster cooling speeds with more energy savings compared to conventional inverters.

● Block the heat source!
Bring blinds and curtains down to keep the sun rays from entering the room.

● Avoid using oil-based lotion or sunscreen

The humid weather gives a sweaty and sticky feeling in the skin, especially with oil-based products. Switch to water-based gels or aloe-vera to ensure a hydrating and fresh feeling. Keep these products in the fridge for an extra cooling sensation once applied into the skin.

● Bring or create a face mist

Freshen up with a face mist to keep cool all-day. Create one by mixing some essential oils and water in a spray bottle. Keep them in the fridge before leaving for the day to keep it chilled.

● Cook strategically

Cooking using the Samsung Smart Oven emits less heat than stove cooking. With its six cooking modes – microwave, convection oven, grill, slim fry, steam, and yogurt maker – you are sure to get meals prepared faster and with ease.

● Prevent Food Spoilage

Improper food storage is a leading cause of food spoilage, especially in hot and humid weather. But there’s no need to worry about food spoilage because Samsung Refrigerator’s Twin Cooling Plus Technology keeps food fresh at up to 2x longer. Only Twin Cooling Plus creates a favorable environment for preserving fresh food in the fridge with 70% humidity.

● Avoid drinking sugary and caffeinated drinks

Sugar and caffeine decrease the ability of the body to store water. Stay cool with a trusty refillable water bottle to bring around everywhere. Extra tip: Fill an insulated water bottle halfway with water and freeze overnight. Once ready to go, fill halfway with cool water. This trick functions as an additional cooling method to achieve all-day icy water.

● Store more fruits and vegetables to turn them into a healthy smoothie

Store fruits and vegetables in containers and leave them in the fridge or freezer for a healthy smoothie later! Easily store bulky fruits, such as watermelon, pineapple, melon, and papaya with the Samsung Smart Conversion. It has a Fridge Max feature that allows extra storage by converting the freezer into a fridge. Extra tip: Try blending coconut water or peppermint in your smoothie to naturally cool down the body.

● Use white cotton bed sheets

White absorbs less light and heat, so it’s more advisable to use white sheets or clothing. Keep them clean and fresh using a Samsung Fully Automatic Topload washing machine. With its various automatic settings, there’s no need to sweat while doing laundry!
