From construction to cars: “Build, Build, Build” Program set to thrive at MIAS 2018

Time and again, Worldbex Services International (WSI) – the country’s biggest events and expositions organizer – proves its unrivalled capacity in stimulating economic productivity with the recently-concluded WORLDBEX 2018. Following in the footsteps of its groundbreaking installments in the past, this year’s WORLDBEX had once again broken new grounds as it welcomed close to 180,000 visitors – transcending last year’s visitor count of 170,000.

As the country’s biggest construction event draws closer to its Silver Anniversary, attendees and exhibitors alike significantly benefitted from the dynamic B2B opportunities that unfolded during the widely successful trade event – a development that openly complements the ongoing “Build, Build, Build” Program of the current administration.

Drawing from the same objective, WSI picks up the pace in realizing the vast economic possibilities that abound as it gears up to deliver another highly anticipated trade event that will serve to augment the country’s plight towards infrastructure development. Hailed as the biggest and most awaited car show in the country, the Manila International Auto Show is set to return on April 5 to 8, from 10:00am to 10:00pm at the World Trade Center Metro Manila (WTCMM), WTCMM Northwing, and the Philippine Trade Training Center.

This time around, fueling the direction for this year’s MIAS is its strong intent to focus on the dual nature of today’s vehicles. Through the theme of “Work & Play”, this year’s MIAS will be all about showcasing a wide array of cars and other automotive innovations that will elevate not only the way people travel but also, the way companies do business.

To date, MIAS has noted a 38% increase on its exhibiting companies and a whopping 60% increase on the anticipated car and motorcycle displays which is in part a result of the 16% increase in venue of this year’s show. Moreover, apart from boasting of over 200 exhibiting companies and over 400 car and motorcycle display, MIAS is thrilled to announce a new addition to its roster of event highlights – the Truck Pavilion which will be located at the WTCMM Northwing.

Taking cue from the “Build, Build, Build” Program, MIAS believes that vehicular and automotive development play just as crucial a role in actualizing the planned expansion and growth in the infrastructure sector. As such, attendees can expect a high percentage of commercial vehicles on display at this year’s show.

Among the must-see exhibitors at MIAS 2018 is FOTON, an international automotive company which designs and manufactures trucks, buses, sport utility vehicles, and even agricultural machinery. At this year’s show, FOTON is expected to unveil the FOTON Tornado C, a Cummins-powered light duty transport vehicle best suitable for construction businesses.

From passenger cars that can double as Transport Network Vehicle Services to commercial vehicles that bear features as luxurious as executive sedans, this year’s MIAS is all about highlighting the multi-functionality and flexibility of today’s vehicles. Furthermore, this is attested by the fact that around 40% of this year’s exhibitors primarily deal with commercial vehicles.

MIAS 2018 is expected to bridge the gap between various industries by providing business owners and investors with an extensive access to the world’s leading automotive brands. Likewise, it serves to open up the possibilities for automotive companies to foster connections across other sectors. Indeed, the optimistic and ambitious “Build, Build, Build” program finds a fitting platform in MIAS 2018.

Now on its 14th year, MIAS remains to be the most significant automotive event in the country for car enthusiasts and industry players alike! As this year’s show centers on the theme of “Work & Play”, MIAS 2018 invites everyone to take part in a different kind of automotive experience; one wherein the boundaries between leisure and progress collide to create a never-before-seen spectacle of automotive evolution. WORLDBEX 2018 leads at the forefront of global expansion

Now on its 23rd year, the Philippine World Building and Construction Expo (WORLDBEX) sustains its outstanding streak as it opens its doors to a record-breaking number of local and international exhibitors. Plus, an increase in its total exhibition space with the addition of the 2,500sqm wide Northwing hall of the World Trade Center which will house over 120 booths.

Happening on March 14 – 18 from 10am to 8pm, this year’s WORLDBEX is expected to be the show’s biggest installment yet as it is set to be held at the three mega venues of the World Trade Center Metro Manila, the Philippine Trade Training Center, and the SMX Convention Center Manila. With all three venues combined, this year’s WORLDBEX will encompass a total of 37,100sqm of show area as it showcases 1,500 booths by both domestic and foreign players of the construction sector.

In turn, WORLDBEX 2018 has noted a 25% increase in international exhibitors, a 12% increase in local exhibitors, and a 20% increase in total number of booths. Signifying something far beyond mere showmanship, the expansion being undergone by WORLDBEX is a brimming testament of the show’s thriving ascendancy as a global force. And the same could be said about its decision to adopt the theme of “Shaping Innovations Toward Sustainability” for its 2018 installment.

As revealed by Worldbex Services International’s Founding Chairman Joseph Ang, “Deliberately conceived to parallel the growing concern of the international community with regard to the need to develop ingenious yet mindful solutions, our theme for this year’s show deeply echoes WORLDBEX’s commitment to connect with the global pulse.”

It comes as no surprise that the reception of both the local and international community towards the upcoming show has been widely optimistic. Laying proof to this was the successful turnout of the WORLDBEX 2018 Exhibitors’ Orientation Program held last January 31 at the Hall B of the Philippine Trade Training Center; where over 700 attendees from 300 companies took part in the pre-show event.

As affirmed by Richmond Sy, President and General Manager of GRM Biowood, a first-time platinum sponsor for WORLDBEX, “Worldbex is the gold standard for construction expos and is well-known for showcasing the newest and most innovative products of the industry under one roof.” Moreover, Sy found this year’s theme highly relevant as it reflects what his company is all about.

On the other hand, 20 years later and Puyat Flooring Products Inc. remains to be one of the longest standing sponsors of WORLDBEX. Recalling their journey as one of the pioneer exhibitors of WORLDBEX, Missy Castro, Communications Manager for Puyat Flooring Products Inc. states, “Our participation has helped us a lot to reach out to our target customers and showcase the beauty and effectiveness of our products. Indeed, it is the most ideal venue to let our clients know about our company and our products!”

However, there seems to be no better exemplification of the burgeoning role of WORLDBEX as a key driver of economic growth on a global scale than the impressive number of international participants that will be taking part at this year’s show. Assuming the role of being the global construction industry’s gateway to Southeast Asia, among the new countries to participate at the much-anticipated event include Indonesia, Australia, Turkey, Germany, Iran, and Japan. These countries now join the roster of longtime international partners that support WORLDBEX, such as Korea, Malaysia, Denmark, Singapore, Spain, China, New Zealand, UAE, Thailand, the US, and Vietnam.

Particularly impressive is the enthusiasm expressed by Malaysian companies who are expected to occupy the most number of booths at this year’s International Pavilion. Leading the pack is Malaysian powerhouse MATRADE which has been allocated 30 booths. As remarked by MaTrade’s Trade Commissioner, Ms. Nyaee Ayup, “WORLDBEX has continuously showcased the emerging and innovative products in the industry. Indeed, it serves as an excellent platform for trade exchange and to learn best practises from other participating countries.

Without a doubt, this year’s WORLDBEX marks an incredible milestone not just for the show but for the country’s economic position as a whole. As remarked by Florian Gottein, Executive Director of the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, “With the fast-changing Philippine business landscape and many developments across all industries, it is through events such as the WORLDBEX that the best in the Philippine building and construction industry can come together and showcase the many opportunities within the sector.”

Furthermore, Noel Toti Cariňo, National President of the Chamber of Real Estate & Builders’ Associations, Inc. cites WORLDBEX’s vast global network as an “affirmation of their bright prospects for the Philippine property and construction industry.”

Once again, WORLDBEX leads at the forefront of pushing forth the expansion of the Philippine construction industry to unprecedented heights. WORLDBEX 2018 will run from March 14 to 18 from 10am to 8pm at the three mega venues of World Trade Center Metro Manila, Philippine Trade Training Center, and the SMX Convention Center, Pasay.

The show is organized by the Worldbex Services International, the country’s leading events and expo organizer.

Construction Show Cebu remains relevant at 25

Marking its milestone at 25, Construction Show Cebu (CEBUCON) is set to take the center stage at the Sky Hall and Mountain Wing Atrium in SM Seaside City Cebu, from June 2 to 5, 2017.

With the theme “25 Years of Building Business Networks in the Construction Industry in the Southern Philippines,” CEBUCON remains relevant by showcasing product solutions, innovations and expertise that meet the current and future demands of the industry in the region.

It was first conceived and organized in 1993 to be aligned with the vision that Cebu will become a major gateway of trade and tourism in the region.

CEBUCON Organizer L.A. Ducut & Company, Inc.’s managing director, Lilibeth D. Abais, said that this milestone event is evident that CEBUCON delivers its commitment to be a vital trade link between suppliers and their market in the region’s construction industry as the popular venue for product displays, launchings, market tests and networking event among industry trade professionals, suppliers and stakeholders.

One of CEBUCON’s pioneer and regular exhibitors, Manila-based industrial and power tools distributor Elektro Werk, Inc. (EWI) President James N. Tan stated that “with the exposures we have at CEBUCON it had contributed to our business growth. CEBUCON, as always, is beyond showcasing. Its organizer, L.A. Ducut & Company, Inc. extends value-added services to both its exhibitor and visitor markets even beyond the event.”

Cebu Belmont, Inc.’s vice president for operations Engr. Felomino D. Ang, shared the same opinion: “[It] truly understands the local market, especially Cebu and Visayas.” This is one of the reasons why their company have been consistently collaborating their exhibit participation at the CEBUCON with their principals and suppliers.
One of its consistent trade visitor, United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) National Auditor Architect Eldred Caesar I. Tan, commented that “the Construction Show Cebu is an innovator and in the forefront of this kind of exhibition in the part of the country. It has showcased materials, tools and equipment and have provided for intellectual stimulation by holding seminars attended by architects, engineers and allied professionals. CEBUCON has benefited not only those directly involved in the construction industry but also the home and building owners in particular and the general public.”
A first timer to CEBUCON is Architechnologies, Inc. to introduce its new software to the local market. “The ProgeCAD Professional 2018 is our next generation of alternative CAD product in the market, set to handle bigger sized files, this is the best version yet. We believe the event is an excellent venue to launch the latest offering of ProgeCAD,” stated technical director Ar. Dennis S. Mayo. “It is our belief that there are still a lot of professional who need the benefit of an affordable CAD package. We believe that CEBUCON also carries that belief of sincerely serving the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) industry and with this partnership, we are tapping the potentials and networks unreachable to us (at the Architechnologies),” he added. As Construction is a booming industry across the country.

The robust building activities spread out in other parts of the nation given the massive national infrastructure spending by the government. For instance, in Central Visayas, majority of construction activities in the region are located in Cebu, including the P27.9 billion Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX), which had its groundbreaking last March; the P50-billion Metro Cebu Expressway that is set to start next year; the P9.2B New Cebu International Container Port; the P98 billion 25-kilometer Cebu rail project; and the P420 million worth Metro Cebu flood control projects, among others.

Bohol and Siquijor also saw rapid infrastructure developments since the first semester of last year. Such strong growth of the construction industry here and elsewhere nationwide is seen to keep its momentum on the back of sustained economic fundamentals. The Philippine construction industry is expected to continuously grow in the next three years, bolstered by the residential and infrastructure markets.

From $30.2 billion in 2015, Timetric’s Construction Intelligence Center (CIC) projects the sector to reach $47 billion in 2020 at a compound annual growth rate of 9.22 percent. As reported by BMI Research’s Philippine Infrastructure Report last January, construction industry is predicted to grow from P1.09 trillion this year to P1.73 trillion in 2021. The sector’s contribution to the country’s gross domestic product is, likewise, projected to expand from 6.8 percent in 2017 to 7.3 percent in four years.

These prospects open new opportunities for L.A. Ducut & Company, Inc. to make CEBUCON more responsive to the needs of the local construction industry. The exhibit’s major cooperating agency is the Hardwares Consolidated, Inc.

Pipelining Sustainability by Neltex, showcase their precise state-of-the-art, health-safe pipes, joints and seals at the Worldbex 2015

Neltex Development Co. Inc., the biggest PVC Pipe Manufacturer in the Philippines with the state of the art plant, showcase their precise state-of-the-art, durable and reliable, 100% leak-free, yet environmentally-friendly and health-safe pipes, joints and seals, during the biggest construction show exhibit last March 14- 15, 2015 at Worlbex, World Trade Center Pasay City, with the theme of “Pipelining Sustainability”.

Neltex is one of the most-visited brands at the Worldbex 2015. Many curious visitors have seen eye-catching exhibit of Neltex.

A transparent presentation and features major parts of the house that points out the important role of pipes.

Neltex offers solutions to major pipeline problems.

One of the most common problems is leakage caused by poor jointing and loose gasket resulting to non-revenue water and system loss. Pipe leak is highly caused by improper pipe fitting due to conventional installation and non-secure working condition.

For this, NELTEX offers the use of its PVC NELTEX PRESSURELINE PIPE with machine-installed fixed seal solution that leaves no margin for error.

Major infrastructures constructed decades ago can no longer adapt to climate and environmental changes. Floods and waste water still go through reinforced concrete pipes that are corroded by the hydrogen sulfide present in waste water. These should be changed to the chemically-resistant PVC PIPES of NELTEX.

Road construction is often slowed down due to pipe laying of reinforced concrete pipes. Concrete pipes are only one meter in length and heavy. Jointing these pipes are tedious and could be inaccurate, thus difficult to form long, straight pipes. With concrete pipes jointed in unevent slopes, water could not flow as fast as in smoothly straight pipes, and clogging often occurs.

NELTEX suggests the use of flexible, lightweight, six-meter long PVC NELTEX SEWERGUARD PIPE with SEWERLOCK SEAL that ensures fast installation and less jointing.

Urbanization requires that electrical cables should be contained in pipes and installed underground. Since electrical pipes are installed beside water pipes, it is a must for these pipes to be highly durable, non-corrosive, water tight and air tight. NELTEX meets these requirements with its impact modified PVC POWERGUARD PIPES joined together by means of a fixed seal technology called the POWERLOCK that renders the pipes to be 100% waterproof and air tight.

Climate change and urbanization have certainly affected the requirements expected form the pipeline industry.

Typhoons, averaging 20 times per year, and storm surges cause heavy flooding in thoroughfares and these put unnecessary pressure on water pipes and underground electrical pipes. Environmental wastes seep through the sewers at accelerated speeds and amounts as a result of the ever increasing population. Seemingly endless road construction and repairs that bring about heavy traffic in the metropolis and suburbs have become part of our daily lives. Then, there are also skyscrapers, buildings and houses sprouting like mushrooms almost everywhere.

Without a doubt, much is expected from Neltex. Neltex Development Corporation never stops to develop pipes that respond to the needs of the times because a pipe, after all, is an important component of life in the modern society.
