HONOR Brand Marketing Manager Joepy Libo-on

“This partnership has been truly meaningful for all of us in HONOR. What better way to shed light on heart health than during love month, right? We celebrate love every February, yet we know very little of our heart health. With the success of HONOR X9b 5G, a platform has opened for us to raise awareness on this important matter,” said HONOR Philippines Vice President Stephen Cheng.

“As long as we have a platform and as long as there are brands like HONOR Philippines that are willing to support this great cause, we will always aim to raise awareness on heart health,” said Jump Manila Founder Erwin Ng.

Held during the Car-Free Sunday Mornings at Ayala Avenue on February 11, over 500 jumpers flocked together in hopes of raising funds and awareness for the Philippine Heart Center. The jump rope workout, led by Jump Manila, was enjoyed by the participants. Food and refreshments were also sponsored by Fitbar, Gardenia, and Sip.

HONOR X9b 5G was put on a test yet again as the participants tried its viral smash and drop tests. First seen to destroy a hallow block and watermelons, the HONOR X9b 5G was seen to be smashing a hard-shelled coconut.

Priced at Php 16,999, the HONOR X9b 5G is readily available on Lazada (https://bit.ly/Laz_X9b_PressRelease), Shopee (https://bit.ly/Shop_X9b_PressRelease), TikTok Shop (https://bit.ly/Shop_X9b_PressRelease) and HONOR Experience or Partner stores.

For easier and more efficient optimizations, Edit Suggestion uses Galaxy AI to suggest perfectly suitable tweaks for each photo. Meanwhile Generative Edit can fill in parts of an image background with generative AI. You can also remove objects or people or adjust crooked photos and AI will fill in the borders and missing pixels to perfectly blend the background in its original spot.

Avida Land Unveils the Biggest Outdoor Mural in the South

Avida Land excitedly announces the official unveiling of “In Her Future Memories,” a stunning mural artwork and winner of their recently concluded South Park District Mural Design Competition.

The eye-catching colors of “In Her Future Memories” invite lovers of art from all over the country to appreciate its beauty in person.

From championing local artists to elevating spaces with Filipino artistry is Avida's dedication to the arts, and this advocacy will continue to strengthen for years to come. They believe in the power of art to inspire, connect, and spark conversations, and "In Her Future Memories" embodies this spirit.

“In Her Future Memories” was designed and created by Jhocel “Anthony Marahuyo” Malicsi and his team of thirteen talented visual artists—Rheydene Luca Ortega, Rhealhet Luca Ortega, Laurence Sebolino Gutierrez, Ma. Aleilyn Joyce Domingo Botin, John Roland Alipis, Ainafer Rupal Arena, John Alexis Rupal Arena, Roma Nieves Huet, Rica Permejo, Mia Jormalyn Astrera Balaoro, John Lenarrd Soriano Barua, Michael Grospe Autos, and Jefferson Panghulan Parajas. On board to handle logistics for this team were Jerome Edianel Carandang, Charmaine Abiado Camba, Paul Denvir Delmonte, and John Carlo Decrepito.

Anthony Marahuyo shares insights into his team’s winning design.

Marahuyo Studio is gifted their prize money for winning the Avida South Park Mural Design Competition.

Team leader Jhocel Malicsi and his group executed their winning mural design on one of the exterior walls of the South Park Center. Using paints provided by Davies Paints, they turned the wall into a massive, eye-catching canvas on which the theme was well-interpreted in vivid colors with a clear visual story.

Towering 20 meters above the ground, “In Her Future Memories” is the biggest creative mural in the South that is expected to draw multitudes of art lovers and visitors to South Park District, a 6.6-hectare master planned mixed-use development in Alabang, Muntinlupa City that is home to 2 Avida residential developments which are Avida Towers Ardane - a pre-selling property, and Avida Towers Altura - a move-in ready home, right across the South Park Center and South Park Corporate Center.

Officials from Avida Land were present at the official unveiling of the completed mural.

Avida Land's Marketing Head, Tess Tatco, beams with excitement for South Park District's newest attraction. The towering mural joins Reginald Yuson's existing installations, painting a vision for South Park as a vibrant place to live and thrive. Tatco envisions not just Avida residents, but people from different cities visiting the mural in person. “Come see ‘In Her Future Memories’ for yourself,” she invites everyone, “and step beneath the towering canvas, feel the pulse of the city and nature merge, and rediscover the charm of the South.”

Ulysses Jose N. Rosal III, Business Development Manager at Davies Paints, shared his excitement to have been part of the production of one of the biggest murals in the entire country.

The mural’s creative team designed the art piece to adhere to the competition’s theme of “Part City, Part Nature, Pure South”. It prominently depicts a female cyborg whose mechanical parts seamlessly blend with a backdrop of brightly hued tropical flowers, creating a fusion of technology and nature. On the left, where the flowers open up to the futuristic city skyline, onlookers are invited to imagine what tomorrow might bring.

Through its appealing imagery, the mural transports us to a world where concrete skyscrapers rise amidst vibrant flora, symbolizing a hopeful future where progress does not come at the expense of the natural world. It’s an image that evokes nostalgia and a feeling of deep connection to one’s hometown.

This artwork transcends its physical form, offering an opportunity for reflection and creative expression - where casual passersby and art lovers can capture their own special moment and share this online.

The artists from Marahuyo Studio worked efficiently to bring their winning mural design to life.

The winning mural, “In Her Future Memories,” looms over the artists that brought it to life.

The artists of Marahuyo Studio share their thoughts with the media.

Tourism Promotions Board hosted WORLDCHEFS Asian Presidents Forum 2023 a first for PH

The Philippines hosted the recently concluded WORLDCHEFS Asian Presidents Forum (WAPF) 2023, welcoming delegates and presidents from sixteen (16) member societies, two (2) associate member groups, as well as organizational heads of the World Association of Chef Societies (WORLDCHEFS). This was the first time the event was held in the country, with the last occurring in Bangkok in 2019.
MEETING OF THE MINDS Willment Leong, WORLDCHEFS continental director for Asia, speaks in a closed-door meeting on Aug. 1 with WORLDCHEFS presidents

Co-organized by the Tourism Promotions Board Philippines (TPB) and LTB Philippines Chefs Association, the WAPF kicked off with an opening ceremony on July 31 at Conrad Manila. Forum events ran until August 5 and aimed to bring together culinary experts from all over Asia to share culinary heritage, industry best practices, and sustainability goals through knowledge-sharing sessions, competitions, and outreach programs scheduled throughout the weeklong conference.

Philippine Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco shared that the event was a good showcase of the country, saying that President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. “envisions the Philippines to have a more primary role in Asia in terms of being able to reintroduce itself to the world, not only on the aspect of fun and adventure, but most importantly, to allow you to get to know the heart and soul of the Filipinos that lies in our history, our heritage, our identity, and our living cultural traditions, including and especially, our culinary traditions.”

“We are given a unique opportunity to listen and learn from experts about developments in the culinary field. The world is more connected, now more than ever, and this has vastly influenced and changed the way we look at food, especially in recent years. People from all over the world are constantly seeking new gastronomic experiences,” said TPB Chief Operating Officer Margarita Montemayor Nograles.

Last July 15, Cebu concluded its first ever qualifier round for Red Bull Dance Your Style at Trademark Cebu, marking an exhilarating milestone in this year’s competition.

16 dancers from the region showcased their extraordinary skills and unleashed their creativity on the dance floor. The atmosphere was electric as performers gave it their all, leaving no doubt that Cebu is a powerhouse of talent in the dancing world.

After seeing stellar performances, Shihan Maui, known on the dance floor as Baby Titan, emerged as the dancer who took home the crown. His performance was nothing short of outstanding, captivating the audience with his unique style, precision, and artistic expression.

“Winning the regional tournament for Red Bull Dance Your Style competition is a lifelong dream fulfilled,” Maui said in an interview. “Since I was a child, I've been captivated by the power of dance and the thrill of competition. It's been a journey of countless rehearsals, pushing my limits, and never giving up on my passion. This victory represents the culmination of years of hard work and dedication. It's a testament to the unwavering belief in my abilities and the sacrifices made along the way.”

In addition to Baby Titan, three contestants proved to be standouts in the competition, earning their spots in the top 4. These included JPY, Taw, and Nemesis, who was also the competition’s only female finalist.

With Cebu’s regional qualifiers now over, eyes now turn to the regional qualifiers in the country’s capital of Manila. Set to happen on July 22 at URBN QC.

The top 4 finalists from each qualifier will eventually move on to the National Finals in September. From there, the winner of the National Finals will qualify for the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Finals in Frankfurt, Germany in November.

What is Red Bull Dance Your Style?

Red Bull Dance Your Style is a global dance competition set out to find all the best dancers from all over the globe. They’ll be gathering together in one place for an intense dance battle set to test the diversity of their move-set and prove that they are the best dancers in the world.

Unlike other major dance competitions with professional judges, the crowd will play a crucial role in determining the winner of each battle. The crowd participation means the dancers will really need to express their personality and passion through their dancing. They’ll need to win the crowd to move past their opponents.

KPMG Presents INNOVATION SUMMIT 2023: EMPOWERING EMERGING TECH AND PIONEERING DIGITAL GOVERNMENT TRANSFORMATION

Manila, Philippines – KPMG R. G. Manabat & Co., one of the country’s leading accounting and professional services firms will hold its award- winning annual Innovation Summit at Fairmont Makati on July 20.

The Innovation Summit 2023 themed MAKING IT HAPPEN: From Innovative Ideas to Execution, launches two remarkable events: the first Philippine leg of the KPMG Global Technology Innovator competition and KPMG in the Philippines' new Digital Government Center. Quezon City Mayor Hon. Joy Belmonte will grace the event as Keynote Speaker, sharing her own aspirations and commitments to digitization as a decision-maker in the political landscape.

This year’s summit will have physical attendance of business leaders and technology experts supplemented by a livestream serving the summit’s growing online audience. This is a fresh change from the exclusively digital conferences that started in 2021 that continued in 2022, where KPMG bagged the Anvil Award for Special Event and Exhibit from the Public Relations Society of the Philippines.

The prestigious Anvil is awarded to outstanding public relations programs, tools and practitioners after careful screening by a multi- sectoral jury of PR professionals in the country.

“Recognitions of such magnitude inspire us to keep doing our share in empowering fellow professionals because we know this triggers the beginning of great leaderships and boundless innovations," says KPMG in the Philippines' Chairman & CEO, Sharon G. Dayoan.

Paving the way, particularly for the many tech start-ups thriving in the country, KPMG in the Philippines will host its first-ever search for the country's tech start-up to represent the Philippines at the KPMG Global Tech Innovator Competition in Lisbon, Portugal.

Representing the Philippines and going head-to-head with tech start- ups from 26 countries around the globe, the Philippine country winner has the opportunity to elevate their ambitious tech goals and take the fulfillment of their vision to an entirely new level.

Prior to the presentation of the finalists’ businesses pitches and ideas, they will be given mentorship opportunities with industry titans to help them prepare for the competition. During the summit, the finalists will be judged by a panel of business leaders and decision- makers using the following criteria: innovation and disruption, market potential, customer adoption, marketing buzz, quality of the pitch and long-term potential.

The winner will enjoy the brand exposure and prestige that comes with the competition, along with the potential to secure funding from investors.

Yet another innovation, KPMG R.G Manabat and Co.’s Digital Government Center will be unveiled at this year's Innovation Summit. Aimed at guiding the national and local governments in their journeys toward digital transformation, the center will help civil workers create and strategize automation services and harness emerging technology so that they can provide citizens with efficient yet practical solutions. It will likewise be a source of training and certifications for civil servants to upskill their proficiency in technology.
