Jollibee’s nationwide Joyful Christmas Stores light up the holiday season


Filipinos have always eagerly anticipated Christmas and most consider this as their favorite time of the year. In fact, the Philippines is known as the country with the longest celebration of Christmas!

To further make the holiday season more joyful, Jollibee launched its Christmas campaign last October. With the theme of “Make it Christmas with Jollibee Joy” – it highlights how everyday moments can be occasions to celebrate the joy of the season.

“We want to make sure our customers feel the warmth and joy of the season, be it through our delicious food or their delightful experiences whenever they go to a Jollibee store. We want to remind everyone that even the simplest of joys can make this Christmas extra meaningful and wonderful if it is shared with loved ones”, says Dorothy Dee-Ching, VP - Marketing of Jollibee. 

Brightening the Holiday season across the country

One other proof of Pinoys love for the holidays is their penchant for bright Christmas lights and colorful decorations, all of which adds to the happy and festive atmosphere. As part of its Christmas campaign, Jollibee is making sure that its customers can have this delightful experience in their stores.

Jollibee opened their nationwide Joyful Christmas Stores last November 9 with simultaneous events in Manila at  Jollibee BGC Triangle Drive, in Davao at Jollibee Quimpo, and in Cebu at Jollibee General Maxilom. Jollibee officials, media and other esteemed guests gathered to launch it in a unique way –through a ceremonial lighting of the stores with a giant socket and plug. This officially commenced the lighting of 10 flagship Jollibee stores across the country, with another 100 stores with their own merry light displays.

Sharing Joy and Happiness this Christmas

For Luzon and Visayas stores, the brand partnered with another world-class brand known for spreading happiness – Coca Cola Philippines. “We are glad to partner with a brand like Jollibee that shares our values and principles. The Jollibee BGC branch went all out with joyful carolers, lively light dance performances, and the ever-adorable mascots to create an unforgettable holiday celebration. Jollibee celebrity endorsers Anne Curtis, Maja Salvador, and Gary Valenciano also joined the festivities and enjoyed the bright lights and colorful displays of the store.

Sanofi collaborates with leading drugstores for prescription medicine delivery

The pandemic has made it difficult for people to move around to acquire basic necessities such as food and medicines, not just because of lockdowns, but because of running a higher risk in catching COVID-19 especially in high foot traffic places such as restaurants, groceries, or pharmacies. It is this predicament that Sanofi tries to remedy in their newest collaborations.

Dedicated to improving access to healthcare, Sanofi has collaborated with Watsons, Southstar Drug, and Rose Pharmacy to offer an easier way for patients to take better care of their health. Patients with diabetes, hypertension, kidney disease, and other lifestyle diseases may now order their prescription medicines either online or via phone, and have them delivered straight to their doors or pick up at their preferred branch sans the waiting. The collaborations started in May 2021, and are continuing to activate even more pharmacies in order to reach more patients.

Keeping in mind the pandemic and the health and safety protocols that we have to follow to ensure our well-being, Sanofi’s collaboration with these pharmacies fills the current need and demand for insulin and other medicines that require proper cold chain management. Their respective delivery services ensure that medicines like Insulin are properly handled to maintain their efficacy. With just a call or a click, patients and their caregivers can easily order medicines and are no longer forced to step out of the house and run the risk of exposing themselves to the virus.

In order to ensure that insulins and other medicines are properly handled and delivered, Sanofi has provided their expertise on cold chain management and has standardized the handling of these medicines throughout different branches of the pharmacies located strategically in key cities all over the country. Anyone with a valid prescription can avail the e-pharmacy services, especially for prescription medicines. Pharmacies have systems in place on how they will validate the purchase of these products in the e-pharmacy channel as required by law.

In a bigger effort to improve healthcare, most critical in these times, these collaborations are not exclusive to Sanofi medicines but include other medicines that need proper cold chain storage handling in order to reach the patients. As a global healthcare leader, this is a bold initiative of Sanofi that patients will be able to obtain insulin in the most convenient way.

Sanofi’s newest Second Generation Insulin is also made available through this channel. Compared to the first-generation insulin, the newer insulin is recorded to have improved effects on patients’ blood sugar, as well as a lower risk for abnormally low levels of blood sugar. It has also been innovated to have a more gradual drug release and therefore less painful when injected.

Alfamart Ph continues Super Minimart openings to serve more communities

Amid the Luzon-wide Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), Alfamart, the first and only Super Minimart chain in the Philippines, has resumed its expansion to cater to the needs of local communities.



The newly opened Alfamart branch in Bagong Silang, Caloocan enforces strict social distancing in compliance with ECQ rules. Having “walking distance” Super Minimarts nearby keep residents from having to go out too far just to get supplies.


What was once a simple and mundane task has been made more challenging and risky by the ECQ. 

Grocery shopping is now much more complicated than it used to be, as people now have to contend with curfews, checkpoints, social distancing, and quarantine passes to help stem the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. 

To help address these concerns and alleviate the burden on individual households, neighborhood minimarts like Alfamart have become more popular destinations for these errands, as they are closer to home. 

In the recent week, Alfamart opened eight new stores across Luzon; namely, in Tabun, Angeles, Pampanga; Barangay 176, Bagong Silang, Caloocan; Poblacion, Floridablanca, Pampanga; Palico, Imus, Cavite; Silangan, Rosario, Cavite; Daan Sarile, Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija; Saog, Marilao, Bulacan; and Grand Valley Subdivision, Angono, Rizal.

Ten more stores are opening in other locations in May.

Alfamart Philippines COO Harvey Ong pointed out that the expansion amid the ECQ is more about following through on Alfamart’s advocacy to improve communities. “The ECQ has been very challenging for everyone, especially those living in communities that are significantly farther from malls, supermarkets, and groceries,” Ong said. “We want to bring that safe, convenient, and comfortable shopping experience closer to home through our Super Minimarts,” he continued.

Ong also highlighted how Alfamart is doing everything it can to reduce health risks, and inconveniences, for both employees and customers. “Our stores follow strict sanitary and hygiene protocols. We also provide PPEs for our frontline and backend staff,” he said. “Also, as part of our walk-to-work philosophy, we hire our store crew locally. As much as possible, we prefer our employees to be within walking distance of their assigned stores. This helps manage their travel time,” he further explained.

Ong enumerated other measures that ensure the store staff are taken care of such as free shuttle rides, proper coordination with checkpoints for expedited supply chain deliveries, proper scheduling and shorter operating hours.

Most Alfamart employees are local hires from within the community. The Super Minimart chain has been encouraging a “walk-to-work” philosophy even before the ECQ.


“In these trying times, everyone is called to be vigilant and serve. Alfamart will do its part to help the community by keeping as many of our existing stores open and reaching out to more communities so we can serve more people,” he concluded.

The premium rice meal line, Chef Creations, was launched on May 2014 and since then, has conveniently offered amazing dishes that capture the taste of Filipinos.

First introduced in the menu were Pulled Pork with Adobo Dip, Pakbet with Bagnet, and Pork Sinigang sa Kamias – all of which are renowned chef and Filipino food advocate Claude Tayag’s personal twists on local favorites. Hungry customers can have these starting at P75 only.



With the increasing demand for more classic Filipino dishes, 7-Eleven continued its partnership with Chef Claude Tayag and introduced a new set of dishes to the Chef Creations premium line, the Bistek Tagalog and Pork Binagoongan.
“Chef Creations makes every Filipinos feel at home whenever and wherever they are,” said Jose Victor Paterno, CEO of Philippine Seven Corporation. 
“Everyone, regardless of status and position, can have a chance to eat quality home-cooked meals at their own convenience,” he added.
Chef Creations Bistek Tagalog is a simple dish with tasty, tender beef slices marinated with the unmistakable Pinoy flavors of toyo and calamansi and garnished with caramelized onion, while Chef Creations Pork Binagoongan is a traditional Filipino pork dish stewed in mildly salted bagoong (shrimp paste), garlic, onion, tomatoes, and served with slices of fried eggplant and a hint of green chili.

With Chef Claude's Filipino cuisine mastery, the new flavors of Chef Creations surely bring ready-to-eat meals to the next level. These carry the promise of using only the natural ingredients that are slow-cooked to bring out that distinct Filipino taste.

The Chef Creations Bistek Tagalog and Pork Binagoongan are available at selected 7-Eleven branches for only P95 each. But they’re not done yet!
