Aira Lopez reveals her lifestyle’s perfect partner

Multifaceted influencer, athlete, host shares her story of winning races, health, and advocacy to help more people live better lives
The 24-year-old goal-getter, influencer, athlete, and host for CNN’s Cycling Unlimited TV show, Aira Lopez, proves that a healthy lifestyle is not as simple as a 30-day diet routine but a daily practice of healthy habits. Recently, Lopez became one of the new brand ambassadors of Santé, a premier natural and organic health and wellness product and services provider.

Despite juggling work hustles daily, Lopez always finds time to exercise and drink her supplements. “I do cardio exercise more often. I do biking, running, and swimming, especially if I have a lot of time on my hand. And if my morning schedule allows me, I go for a morning bike ride,” Lopez shared.

“I don’t follow any specific or strict diet. I eat whatever I want. But the secret to staying fit is I burn it through exercise. I exercise a lot so that I can eat a lot. Plus, part of my everyday healthy lifestyle is drinking Santé Barley every morning after my workout session,” she blithely added.

Being sports-inclined, Lopez, at a young age, knows how precious health is. “I do love sports since my elementary days,” she said. Lopez claimed that she was already health-conscious at a young age and wanted to share with everyone how she considered her health as her wealth, just like the golden adage says. Her Papa Louie also revealed that during her high school days, Lopez was a baseball player in her school.

“We used to arrange fun rides together with my other siblings and Papa Louie. We once conducted a free event in Tarlac, and it was free for everyone. We also gave free food to the riders who joined. And of course, it was fulfilling because we were able to encourage more women to join in our ride.”

With her talents in sports and a bubbly personality, no wonder Lopez could capture the hearts of many to join her in her healthy movement. Today, she has over half a million subscribers on her channel, where she usually uploads her inspiring vlogs about her sports journey. And now that she and her family is the newest member of the Santé family, Lopez believes that she is set to win her future races and, at the same time, ready to inspire more, especially the women.

“We hope to reach more women and Filipinos and inspire them to do a sport that they love and enjoy. And as a new family ambassador of Santé, we are confident that we share the same values and goals with the brand,” Lopez shared.

Santé Barley™, the company’s flagship product, is made of barley grass gathered at a young age and turned into powder and capsule forms. It is composed of pure organic barley grass rich in vitamins and minerals that help detoxify the body, lower bad cholesterol, aid digestive health, deliver a good number of antioxidants, assist wound healing, bone formation, and many more.

A glass or capsule of Santé Barley™ fortifies the body with Vitamin C, zinc, calcium, amino acids, magnesium, iron, B-vitamins, and carotenoids, essential to giving the immune system an extra boost. The healthy goodness of Santé Barley™ is certified organic by New Zealand’s renowned organic produce and products organization, BioGro.

“Our Papa Louie is proof of how beneficial Santé Barley is to him and our whole family. I believe that Santé Barley and other products will help boost my health and stamina to ace my races. So, I advise everyone to find any sports they would like to do because it can make them happy. And being happy means being mentally healthy as well. And last is, don’t forget to drink your vitamins and supplements like Santé Barley,” Lopez encouraged.
From her viral introduction video, Aira Lopez’s new spiel goes, “I’m Aira Lopez, a YouTube vlogger, an athlete, and a TV host, and I would love to help more people live better lives.”

Model, TV host Kelly Misa-Fernandez talks about loyalty and creating long-lasting relationships

Kelly Misa-Fernandez, model, TV host, and one of the most recognized faces in the Philippines is one whose life is made complete and beautiful by people closest to her heart helping and teaching her every step of the way.

“Everything in my life that I have accomplished has never been done alone and I have been very fortunate to have met people who supported me, taught me, and enabled me to experience many things and become the best version of myself,” Kelly shared.

Long-lasting and genuine friendship

One of those people who has been intimately involved in her growth is her best friend, stylist, and former fashion editor Bianca Santiago-Reinoso who has been her rock and a constant in her life for many years. “We met in college and very early on we knew that we would be best of friends. I remember when she’d book styling gigs--she’d always recommend me and that opened a lot of doors for me. Bianca has seen me through a lot of my ups and downs and through it all she never left and pushed me to become better,” she said. “We’ve come a long way and I’m so glad that we remain close until now,” Kelly added, sharing how from fashion and work, they now bond over motherhood. “We’re at a different stage in our lives, but we still talk very often, to exchange stories and advice as we are raising our kids.”

The value of finding a good mentor

Her career that started when she was 19 was something born out of hard work and sheer determination and no one knows the lengths she went through more than her former manager Luis Espiritu. “Luis pushed me beyond my comfort zone and has always believed in me more than I believed in myself. And it was a very powerful feeling—having someone who had that much faith in me and tells me whenever I feel I’m not there yet that I’m already there. That was really inspiring for me and I will be forever grateful to Luis,” she said. Her manager’s unwavering support and loyalty motivated her to make the most of new and better opportunities, including projects that brought her to Hong Kong and different parts of Asia. “I wouldn’t have done them if it weren’t for Luis,” Kelly added.

Kelly said it feels rewarding to have the people who love and believe in her. This helped her gain confidence to pursue other aspirations. She became a fashion editor; a host of a travel lifestyle show and a noontime program and dabbled in acting. At present, she is also building her channel as a content creator and is a wife to Carlos Fernandez and mother to their son, Tristan Antonio.

A lifetime and reliable partner

For Kelly, loyalty is something she cherishes and is important in her daily life. “I really value loyalty because it is the cornerstone of the relationships I have with the most important people in my life—the fact that I feel safe and secure knowing that I have people I can rely on and that I can extend the same to them is a special thing to have,” she shared.

“The same applies to other facets of my life. As a consumer, having a trusted ally gives me less things to worry about and I can focus on doing things better because of reliable partners like PLDT Home.”

Kelly added how rewarding it is to become a loyal PLDT Home subscriber, thanks to their PLDT Home Rewards program. “I have been a PLDT Home subscriber for years and with the PLDT Home Rewards program, it’s gratifying to know that my loyalty is valued. I get to earn crystals for every transaction or activity, like when I pay my bills in full and on-time, when I enroll for my paperless billing, or when I purchase a PLDT Home gadget,” she shared. “And then I can use these crystals to get discounts from my favorite online shopping sites like Lazada, well-loved food and dining brands and even rebates to pay for PLDT and Smart products and services. But my most favorite of all is that I get to earn raffle entries to the PLDT Home Grand Giveaway where I can win as much as Php5 million!”

Indeed, loyalty and valuable partnerships open doors to rewarding opportunities. To learn more about the PLDT Home Rewards program, visit https://pldthome.info/KellyForHomeRewards.

Gelli De Belen says versatility is one of the secrets to her longevity in showbiz, loving it at ABS-CBN

Award winning actress and host Gelli de Belen, believes that versatility is one of the secrets to longevity.

Being in the entertainment business for 29 years, Gelli has built quite an impressive resume, thanks to her versatility as an actress.

Equally adept in both comedy and drama, Gelli takes pride in being able to dabble in both genres. However, she does not think it is necessary to be good in both when you can be a master of one. But to be able to do comedy and drama allow for more opportunities.

Gelli had her television debut in 1994 as a mainstay of the sketch comedy show Tropang Trumpo, which aired on ABC 5 (now known as TV5).

The film Gagay: Prinsesa ng brownout has earned her a Best Actress Nomination in the Manila Film Festival. In 1995, Gelli won the Gawad Urian Award for Best Actress for her role of Sarah Jane Salazar in the movie The Secrets of Sarah Jane: Sana'y Mapatawad Mo, a film about the true-to-life story of AIDS victim Sarah Jane Salazar.

Her adaptability for any given role assigned to her has opened many doors over the years, one of which led her back to ABS-CBN in 2015.

Her first hosting job on TV was for the defunct noontime show ‘Sang Linggo nAPO Sila. After it went off the air in 1998, Gelli switched networks twice. First she went to GMA Network and stayed there for several years before moving back to ABC 5 (which had become TV5 by then). But now that Gelli’s back with ABS-CBN, it’s clear that she’s thriving—personally and professionally.

“I was excited to be working with ABS-CBN again after a long time. I felt a bit anxious too because I knew I’d have to adjust to a relatively new environment again. But I said yes to becoming a Kapamilya kaagad because I’m always willing to work and try new things. I felt a sense of nostalgia when I walked the halls of ABS-CBN again. I kind of grew up there. I started working there when I was fifteen years old until I was twenty-four, so of course I was very happy to be back. It felt great to see my old colleagues and friends again. It was fun to meet new faces as well.”
On working exclusively for major networks, Gelli explains the pros and cons:
"I think there are pros and cons to being signed exclusively with any network for us old-timers (hehehe). The pros would be being secure that you have a job for the length of your contract, that you are relevant enough for them to invest on you and that raises your status as an actor, so to speak. Cons would be, not being able to work elsewhere, I guess options and opportunities are limited as well since unlike the younger actors, we the older ones would have more roles open to us since we usually do not play the lead as much, so more roles are available. Not having an exclusive contract would give us the freedom to choose more roles and work for any network. So for me, at this point where I think I have established myself already, I prefer not being exclusive to any network."

Since returning to ABS-CBN, Gelli has done two teleseryes—FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano and Magpahanggang Wakas, the latter of which saw her play against type.
“It felt great to have been part of such exceptional shows. Especially when I did Magpahanggang Wakas. My role on that show was my first as a full-on antagonist, and I loved doing it. I have to admit that it was a big adjustment for me, but I welcomed the challenge and I hope I did justice to the character I was given.”

Gelli’s latest project is the action-packed, top-rating teleserye La Luna Sangre, where she plays Betty Torralba, the doting aunt of Daniel Padilla’s character Tristan.

“Daniel is a sweetheart. His Mom Karla Estrada brought him up well. He is a natural. I think he was born to be a star,” she says.

Gelli is having the time of her life on La Luna Sangre and says she’s open to doing fight scenes should her character get caught up in the war brewing on the show between humans, werewolves and vampires.
“I hope for my character to continue to be the grounding factor to keep Tristan's fearlessness in check. I’m looking forward to seeing Betty evolve and grow as a character. Of course I’m open to doing fight scenes. It will be challenging but I do miss doing scenes like that. It has been a while since I did action. I’d like to see if I can still handle such scenes in the event I’m called upon to do them.”
Gelli shares that she’s also thinking about doing an independent film in the future. Right now, however, she’s still looking for the right script.
“Of course I’m open to doing films again. I did a short film and an advocacy film recently and I’m also willing to do indies. Right now I’m not sure what kind of film I want to do or who I want to do it with because there's an infinite amount of possible plots and stories, ‘di ba? But siguro as long as it’s interesting, I’ll do it gladly.”

Aside from acting, Gelli also loves hosting.
“Hosting is another passion of mine and I am grateful to have been able to learn a lot from my hosting stints. As a host, I can express myself as me and address the audience directly, as opposed to acting where I become someone else. Hosting is one of the things I love most about this business, so I’d love to find a way to do it again now that I’m a Kapamilya.”

Bianca Gonzalez bonds with Social Media

TV host and model Bianca Gonzalez is really an influencer. She opinionates. She endorses. She tells stories.

Bianca is adept at using social media and is one of the most followed and watched in the online world in the Philippines. She has also put the power of social media to good use.

On social media, she bills herself as a storyteller. Bianca currently has 6.3 million followers on Twitter, 1.8 million followers on Instagram, and 2.7 million followers on her Facebook page.

Is Bianca a millennial mom? Millennials, also known as Generation Y following Generation X. These present times, young and old peeps, as they call themselves, millenials always talk on anything under the sun.

But for whatever, whenever, her feed shows a mix of her family life, her thoughts for the day, her home and travel tips, her observations on topics big and small.

Married to basketball player JC Intal, Bianca is now at the "toddler stage" of her parenting journey. Bianca admits she still 21-month old daughter Lucia.

Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla, Toni Gonzaga - Soriano, Bianca Gonzalez - Intal

According to Bianca, with her best friends in showbiz, Toni Gonzaga - Soriano and Mariel Rodriguez-Padilla, talks always now about family matters, parenting and taking care of their babies.

"Technology has changed the way parents raise their children. With the internet, parenting information is just a swipe away. And social media has made moms more connected than ever," says Bianca.

Social media definitely adds to the pressure moms feel, shared by Bianca. “Whenever I see posts it’s always the happy, beautiful, smiling, ‘this is the best thing ever’ side of motherhood. But on the first three months -- di ka pa naliligo, di ka kumakain on time. So I try to be more realistic about my posts kasi may culture shock, medyo may trauma talaga. I didn’t know what to expect,” she shared.

She is also known to post about issues that affect all of us: traffic, climate change, education, government, even food, beauty and or parenting. Sometimes she gets into a testy twitter exchange with netizens like when a twitter user tweeted: "So what if there is martial law"? An irked Bianca shared a video of martial law survivors who recounted their experiences on the regime. She admonished netizens not to joke about it, but also educated them on the difference of martial law then, and martial law now, under the 1987 Constitution. This, among many other topics she gets into, and sometimes gets into trouble with, all to share what she believes in.

She previously worked with different organizations for her advocacies, such as UNICEF for her work with children and early childhood education, and the Climate Change Commission to help spread awareness on environmental issues.

Bianca is media savvy. Beyond social media, she also writes a column for the Lifestyle section of the Philippine Star, and is the best-selling author of the book Paano Ba ‘To?! How To Survive Growing Up, which was released in 2014, but is still being posted about and sold in select stores today.

It is in this sphere of influence that Bianca is a favorite, a respected figure among advertisers who seek her endorsement for their products.

Visa, for one. Bianca is the first Philippine endorser of Visa. Recently the multinational company partnered with Bianca to tell stories of how cashless transactions benefit a consumer. She was also recently launched as the first ever brand endorser of Sanicare, a mega brand that has been around for over two decades. She is also the face of Globe Telecom, Samsung Digital Appliances and Samsung TV (with husband JC Intal and Lucia), EQ Diaper and Johnson & Johnson (both with Lucia), and Glade. As one of the country's most seasoned hosts, she currently is at the helm of the entertainment news program Cinema News on Cinema One, which has been running for 9 years now, and the lifestyle show Modern Living on ANC, which is starting its 8th season this September.

A few weeks ago, she was a speaker at the #ThinkPH forum organized by Rappler where Bianca shared some thoughts on the use of social media: "You have to ask yourself: what is the effect on you of the people you follow? When it feels overwhelming, take a step back and log off for a bit." She also underscored the need for accountability and etiquette of social media users.

A lot of beautiful things are happening in Bianca's life—from family life to career—and she is just extremely thankful.

Bianca Gonzalez is managed by Asian Artists Agency.
