Pancake House Classic Cheese Burger Makes A Tasty Comeback!

The mere mention of Pancake House is a welcome invitation to a heartwarming home, where friends and families come together for a good time over delicious comfort food.

Fans of the well-loved restaurant would remember its very first branch in Magallanes, where all-time favorites like the Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and the 2-pc. Pan Chicken were born. Another crowd-pleaser from over 40 years ago is the Classic Cheese Burger which is—SURPRISE!—making a comeback at Pancake House Paseo de Magallanes for a limited time only.

The  Classic Cheese Burger is headlined by two high-grade ground beef patties made fresh in limited batches every day – the reason why it is available in just one branch. Lightly seasoned then grilled to a slightly charred perfection, they are tucked in between soft but yielding buns, alternating with two good ol’ American cheese slices.

For PHP299, the burger can be enjoyed by diners of all ages with a side of homemade potato chips, Pancake House’s special coleslaw, pickle relish, tomato ketchup, and mustard. A classic in every sense of the word.

“We are happy to announce the return of the Classic Cheese Burger,” said Pancake House Chief Operating Officer, John Amante. “It’s one of those familiar specialties that speaks of the heart of our very first store. We hope the return of this delicious offering gives our diners more reasons to Choose To Feel Good at Pancake House!”

Boasting of the same delicious recipe, the same simple presentation, and the same homey goodness from decades back, the Classic Cheese Burger is definitely worth the trip to Pancake House Paseo de Magallanes. Order it until September 2019!

Hot and humid days ahead according to PAGASA? Here are some tips to keep yourself refreshed at home!

The summer heat and humidity brought by frequent thunderstorms can definitely be felt. But don't worry— according to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), this is not yet rainy season. Temperatures in Metro Manila and the rest of the country would continue to rise in the days ahead despite the unpredictable thunderstorms.*

It’s usual to drink water, wear light colored clothes, and eat fruits and vegetables that have high water content during this season. But in this scorching tropical heat, what else can we do to be summer-ready?

Here are some useful home tips:

● Consider replacing old air conditioners at home.

If your old aircon still cools slowly even after thorough cleaning of a professional, then maybe it’s time to consider replacing it with a new one. Samsung Air conditioners has a Digital 8-Pole inverter technology, that can give faster cooling speeds with more energy savings compared to conventional inverters.

● Block the heat source!
Bring blinds and curtains down to keep the sun rays from entering the room.

● Avoid using oil-based lotion or sunscreen

The humid weather gives a sweaty and sticky feeling in the skin, especially with oil-based products. Switch to water-based gels or aloe-vera to ensure a hydrating and fresh feeling. Keep these products in the fridge for an extra cooling sensation once applied into the skin.

● Bring or create a face mist

Freshen up with a face mist to keep cool all-day. Create one by mixing some essential oils and water in a spray bottle. Keep them in the fridge before leaving for the day to keep it chilled.

● Cook strategically

Cooking using the Samsung Smart Oven emits less heat than stove cooking. With its six cooking modes – microwave, convection oven, grill, slim fry, steam, and yogurt maker – you are sure to get meals prepared faster and with ease.

● Prevent Food Spoilage

Improper food storage is a leading cause of food spoilage, especially in hot and humid weather. But there’s no need to worry about food spoilage because Samsung Refrigerator’s Twin Cooling Plus Technology keeps food fresh at up to 2x longer. Only Twin Cooling Plus creates a favorable environment for preserving fresh food in the fridge with 70% humidity.

● Avoid drinking sugary and caffeinated drinks

Sugar and caffeine decrease the ability of the body to store water. Stay cool with a trusty refillable water bottle to bring around everywhere. Extra tip: Fill an insulated water bottle halfway with water and freeze overnight. Once ready to go, fill halfway with cool water. This trick functions as an additional cooling method to achieve all-day icy water.

● Store more fruits and vegetables to turn them into a healthy smoothie

Store fruits and vegetables in containers and leave them in the fridge or freezer for a healthy smoothie later! Easily store bulky fruits, such as watermelon, pineapple, melon, and papaya with the Samsung Smart Conversion. It has a Fridge Max feature that allows extra storage by converting the freezer into a fridge. Extra tip: Try blending coconut water or peppermint in your smoothie to naturally cool down the body.

● Use white cotton bed sheets

White absorbs less light and heat, so it’s more advisable to use white sheets or clothing. Keep them clean and fresh using a Samsung Fully Automatic Topload washing machine. With its various automatic settings, there’s no need to sweat while doing laundry!

Let Samsung Digital Appliances help you ease the summer heat! Visit the nearest authorized dealer, check Samsung PH on Facebook, or visit www.samsung.com/ph/offer/summerreadyhomedeals to know more.

Lalamove Embraces GCash for Partner Driver Payments, Explore More Opportunities for Cashless Transactions

Local logistics provider Lalamove Philippines have partnered with the nation’s leading mobile wallet GCash to secure payments for their partner drivers. This move comes after the company’s push for a more efficient disbursement method for their drivers, who are usually on field 24/7.

Logistics personnel usually encounter challenges when withdrawing their salaries, as some still depend on cash envelopes, in which, by late afternoon, their head office is already closed. Meanwhile, some do not have ATM cards at all. GCash solves this with the GCash App and its GCash Mastercard.

The GCash App empowers the user to be able to use money in the app real-time: customers can purchase discounted prepaid load, send money to other GCash users for free, pay utility bills without actually setting foot in payment centers, or pay using GCash QR in over 60,000 GCash Partner Merchants nationwide, including restaurants, apparel, and other product and service brands. The GCash Mastercard, on the other hand, is a card directly linked to a customer’s GCash App, and can be used for swipe, ATM, and online transactions.

“Madali talaga gumamit ng GCash kasi hindi ka masyadong mahihirapan pag magcacash-out ka, kasi kahit nasa labas, kahit disoras ng gabi, 24 hours pwede ka magwithdraw, tsaka safe yung pera kasi nasa telepono mo lang,” said Charlie Cabilangan, a Lalamove driver who has been with the company since 2017.

Lalamove is also looking forward to expanding their partnership with GCash by adopting more services, such as offering GCash QR acceptance for delivery payments.

“Lalamove is the pioneer in on-demand logistics services in the Philippines, and have been leading the industry since 2016. We’re very happy to have partnered with GCash as they were able to make our partner driver disbursements more efficient,” said Dan Marajocon, Managing Director of Lalamove. “We’re definitely looking forward to exploring more opportunities with them,” she added.

Anthony Thomas, Mynt’s President and CEO, meanwhile said, “GCash’s payroll solution is designed for quick and easy disbursements for SMEs, and even big corporations. This service features a GCash Mastercard, which doubles as an ATM card and a debit card all in one, available for use in over 5,000 POS terminals and over 12,000 ATMs nationwide.” “GCash and Lalamove share the same startup mindset, and we’re very happy to continue working with them on working towards a more convenient and financially-inclusive employee payroll ecosystem,” he added.

Originally known as EasyVan, Lalamove was launched to satisfy a specific logistical need - van hiring. Started in Hong Kong in December 2013, Lalamove now operates in 100+ cities across China and Southeast Asia. Today, the company unceasingly matches 15,000,000 registered customers with a pool of 2,000,000 drivers of vans, trucks and motorcycles. Lalamove is also the leading app-based logistics provider in the Philippines.

Getting a GCash account is easy. Just download the GCash App for free from the App Store or from Google Play and sign up for an account. Alternatively, you can look for @gcashofficial on Messenger and sign up.

To fund their GCash account, a user can visit over 16,000 GCash partner outlets nationwide, like 7-Eleven, SM Business Centers, Robinsons Business Centers, Puregold branches, and Villarica Pawnshop branches, and tell the cashier to cash-in to their GCash account. Cashing-in to a GCash account is free.

For more details about the promo, customers can visit the official Facebook page of GCash at www.facebook.com/gcashofficial.
