Jessica Sanchez saved by the judges and stays on "American Idol Season 11"

Filipino-Mexican Jessica Sanchez saved from the American Idol elimination. Sanchez was saved by the judges despite receiving the lowest votes on the show. It was the first time for Jessica to land in the bottom 3. Joshua Ledet and Elise Testone completed the bottom 3 in this week's elimination round.

On the results show for the Top 7 Week on April 12, Sanchez was revealed as the contestant that received the lowest number of votes, despite strong acclaim from the judges for her performances.

Sanchez had to sing "Nobody's Supposed to Be Here" by Deborah Cox for the save. When Sanchez began to perform in hopes of the judges using their one save per season.  During the midway into her song by Jennifer Lopez and she and fellow judges Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler stopped her and agreed to use their one save for the season to keep her on the show. All three judges came on stage to interrupt her and declare that they would be using their save without her needing to finish the song.
