The Dynamism of the Makati Street Market: Alveo Land showcases ease of living in Legazpi Village

Seven years have passed yet the Legazpi Sunday Market in Makati City continues to thrive as an artisanal haven of sorts, with a unique market concept rarely found in an urban setting.
A favorite among Makati denizens and city-goers, the weekend souk has been a venue for people to dine, shop, and take pleasure in international cuisines, hand-made products, organic finds, green items, and local products exceptionally-crafted to go along with its artisanal impression. Hence, what was once organized to service the community with just 30 merchants now boasts of more than 150 vendors from different regions of the country like Ilocos, Bicol, Negros, and Davao. And with its central location, the Legazpi Sunday Market also bolsters the convenience and ease of living in Makati.
To further foster the market's potential, the Legazpi Market organizers, together with GeiserMaclang Inc. and its sponsors, have rechristened the “Legazpi Sunday Market” into the “Makati Street Market.” For four consecutive Sundays starting September 23, pocket events will be held to highlight the dynamism of the bazaar while more than 70 merchants will be added to the roster of vendors at the site.

In Tune with the Lifestyle Scene

With easy access being one of the pivotal features of the Makati Street Market, Alveo Land—Ayala Land Inc.’s benchmark of innovation—is joining the said event as one of the major sponsors to underscore the vibrant lifestyle and the perks of living in a thriving city.

For its opening salvo this past September 23, the Makati Street Market kicked-off with a Salsa and Sangria event, in partnership with Escola de Samba de Manila and Ralph's Wines and Spirits. The Makati Street Market has also lined up the successful “Adobolympics” and “Grilla in Manila” events, where competitions will allow participants to showcase exceptional adobo recipes and personal grilling tricks.

This September 30, the Makati Street Market will feature a special biking workshop and city tour with bike enthusiast Clive Villanueva in partnership with Alveo Land’s landmark project in Legazpi—Kroma Tower. The city tour, which will pass through thoroughfares such as Pasong Tamo, Dela Rosa, Buendia and Legazpi Village aims to highlight the ease and accessibility of Makati’s dynamic environs. And since Kroma Tower will be one of the primary stops, the said trip will also emphasize the development’s prime connections to the Makati Central Business District, as well as key destinations that set the trend in convenience, cuisine, and culture.

Through these events, the Makati Street Market showcases itself as a must-visit weekend souk that highlights not only a unique dining and shopping experience in an artisanal destination, but also underscores the vibrant lifestyle and the perks of living in Makati.

The Makati Street Market is developed by the Legazpi Market Organizers in partnership with Alveo Land and GeiserMaclang Inc.. It is also supported by the Make It Happen! Make It Makati! campaign, an ongoing project initiated by Ayala Land Inc. (ALI), Makati Commercial Estate Association, Inc. (MACEA), and the local government of Makati.

The Makati Street Market is located at the Legazpi Park in Makati City. The pocket events will run for four Sundays (September 23, September 30, October 7, and October 14) from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Interested sponsors may contact 0917-521-4624 or <makatistreetmarket@gmail.com>.
