“BABY BLAST 5: READY, SET…GO, GLOW, GROW – A Fun-O-lympics for the Whole Family!”

This year, “BABY BLAST 5: READY, SET…GO, GLOW, GROW – A Fun-O-lympics for the Whole Family!” focuses on fostering development in 3 areas: GO – physical and motor skills; GLOW – mental and cognitive skills; and GROW – nutrition and health needs.

Rearing a child in this modern and terribly fast-paced environment is a challenge most parents have. You may be happy to see your child developing a skill in one developmental aspect, but he or she may be lacking in another. How do you identify problem areas and help him or her reach their full potential?

Outbox Media Production Agency once again invites you to the grandest family event of the year! Running on its 5th year, “BABY BLAST!” an annual event focusing on the importance of Early Head Start (EHS) Education, continues to bring together EHS advocates, teachers, doctors, parents and kids, through a fun-filled family event happening at the Trinoma Activity Center on May 25, 2014, from 10am-7pm.

Since 2010, Baby Blast has spread awareness that enjoyable, unforced learning, as well as hands-on play and parent-child bonding during the age of 0-3 years is critical in laying down the foundation for the child’s future learning and holistic development. Every year, attendance to the event grows in number, as more families enjoy the fun activities and learn from the featured topics.

The event will feature entertaining talks on health, parenting and education from experts, parents and teachers, Early Head Start demos, exhibits, booths and fun activities! Aside from the onstage program and activities, this year’s exhibit areas will focus on the GO, GLOW & GROW model, divided into age groups, that will help parents identify particular areas where their children’s development may need some help with: Celebrity moms and dads will be hosting the onstage program and facilitate discussions with guest speakers.

AGE-RELATED ACTIVITIES:

· 6-12 months – CRAWLING RACE

· 1-2 years old – BUILDING BLOCKS

· 3 years old – DRESSING UP

Mother's Day surprise for Camille Prats

Nathan surprised her mom Camille Prats, as always. He always want to make her Mommy happy.

For this special day for moms, kids love surprising their mothers on Mother’s Day. Some surprise them with portraits of their moms, some give homemade gifts, some even attempt to cook for them. Some can say that their surprise was their Mother’s Day card printed in a national newspaper for millions to see.

Camille Prats
Weeks before Mother’s Day, while Camille was busy shooting for her TV series, Nathan visited important people in Camille’s life and asked them to write special messages for his mom.

Nathan was able to get messages from his grandparents, his ‘Nongnong’ John Prats, Isabel Oli and sister Mimi and put on a card of giant proportions.

John Prats, Camille’s brother and Nathan’s ninong, shared “Nathan loves surprising his Mom - kahit nga walang occasion.” Last year, Nathan surprised his mom with flowers during her talk show.

The card he had signed came out on Mother’s Day in a national newspaper and billboard with the help of Bonakid Pre-School which Nathan is the endorser of.

Aubrey Inigo, Senior Product Manager of Bonakid Pre-School, said that when they found out that Nathan wanted to surprise his mom, they wanted to help him make it as special as they could. Together, Nathan and Bonakid Pre-School worked to make this Mother’s Day the happiest day for Camille.

Safeguard officially launches Derma Sense

Safeguard introduces Derma Sense, its first-ever premium line of acne solution products. The brand unveils this latest innovation in collaboration with the Philippine Educational Theatre Association (PETA) in a theater production dubbed “Hashtag: Pimples Anonymous,” an “informance” or information performance that explores teens’ stories of physical and psychological struggles against pimples and how they’re able to overcome these situations.

As part of its commitment in promoting health and hygiene education among Filipino families, Safeguard officially launches Derma Sense to help teens face up against acne.

Safeguard Derma Sense leverages Safeguard’s expertise in skin health and antimicrobial cleansing with the launch of a dermatologically tested line of face and body bars and washes that are proven to help visibly reduce acne in 89% of users.

“Bacteria are a critical root cause of acne and the first step in managing mild to moderate acne is keeping skin protected from acne-causing bacteria through regular cleansing of the skin using an antimicrobial soap,” shares Dr. Ma. Pilar Lagdameo-Leuenberger, Fellow of Philippine Dermatological Society.

“Safeguard Derma Sense recognizes that the effects of acne can be more than just physical, and that the brand has a role to play in empowering consumers, especially Moms and their teens, in facing up to acne,” Maro Torres, Brand Manager for Safeguard, said.

Acne vulgaris, also known as acne or red spots, is the most common skin disease worldwide. In a white paper released by the Skin Health Alliance, prevalence of self-reported acne among individuals age 15-25 is documented to be as high as 91%. The study further stresses possible emotional and psychological effects, to quote: “There is probably no single disease which causes more psychic trauma, more maladjustment between parents and children, more general insecurity and feeling of inferiority and greater sums of psychic suffering than does acne vulgaris.”

Dr. Susan Estanislao, Counseling Psychologist from the De La Salle University Manila, thus reinforces “the need for creating an empowering atmosphere that will help teens overcome these struggles.”

Safeguard Derma Sense advocates the adoption of a regular cleansing regimen with a well-tolerated antimicrobial soap that helps reduce levels of skin bacteria and play a part in early acne management. More importantly, it commits to helping empower parents and teens #FaceUp to acne through resources that aim to pioneer the understanding on the causes, consequences and potential treatment of acne.

Manila Water Foundation, brings importance of Earth Day to kids

Manila Water Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of the Manila Water group for areas within Metro Manila and beyond, engaged youngsters in a day full of exciting activities that expressed the value of taking care of Mother Earth.
“The Foundation’s Earth Day celebration reflects how we would like to implant the importance of being mindful of the environment’s condition and the efforts needed to be taken to improve it at grassroots level,” said Carla Beriña-Kim, Executive Director of Manila Water Foundation. “Educating the youth during their developmental years would promote the formation of consciousness and habits that will shape an active public geared at forging a sustainable future,” she adds.

Almost a hundred children aged six and above participated in a story telling teaching the role of water cycle in the environment and in the Amazing Kiddie Race which included stations that stressed the importance of using water wisely such as the Water Relay Station.

Christine Casabar, parent of one of the participants shares the Foundation’s vision of inculcating the value of protecting the environment in an early age.

“This stage is very crucial because it is the time that the learnings are readily accepted and embraced,” said Casabar.

According to Roy Gonzaga, parent of one of the participants, his daughter Rayne shared how she gained environmental awareness and enjoyed her first step to taking care of Mother Earth through the seedling planting activity. “As parents, we play a critical role of developing the awareness and responsibility of the future generation towards the environment,” said Gonzaga. “After all, they will be the ones who will inherit our planet and reap or sow depending on our present actions”.

The full day event ended with splashes and laughter as kids jumped and swam in the pool the rest of the afternoon.

This Earth Day celebration was done in cooperation with Manila Water Company, Museo Pambata, Philippine Book Fairs and Education Inc., and Metropolitan Water Works and Sewerage System.

Sangobion Go Love Life! Sangobion shows women the value of taking care of oneself & loving life

"Loving yourself first so you can fully embrace the life you lead."

I believe that women are natural nurturers. By nature, we, want to take care of everyone in our lives. Some women love cooking for others, some like to give gifts, while others enjoy lending a helping hand. It is in these acts of kindness that we often feel happy and fulfilled.

Though we have much love to share, we often show love for ourselves the least. But by focusing on our own well-being and pampering ourselves once in a while, we learn that in order to give love, we must begin loving ourselves first.

We should realize how important you are today...Find a way to fill yourself back up so that you can be all that God created you to be!

This is the kind of self-empowerment that Sangobion® (Ferrous gluconate + vitamins and minerals) would like to advocate to women all over. The demands of modern life often make women feel pressured both at home and at work – making it easy for women to neglect themselves.
The Sangobion Go Love Life! campaign reminds women that while we take care of others, we must not forget to take care of ourselves as well. When we are at our best selves, then we can lead a life that we love.
The event demonstrated to women how regularly taking time off and boosting your health with Sangobion® can help you to go and love life. Unlike other iron supplements, Sangobion contains
Ferrous gluconate, an organic iron, which is absorbed better by the body to help fight the signs of iron deficiency. Each capsule is chocolate-scented that leaves no iron after-taste.

Sangobion® also contains essential vitamins and minerals such as Vitamin C, Folic acid, Vitamin B12, Copper, and Manganese to build healthy red blood cells and immune system.

It also contains sorbitol which acts as anti-constipating agent that generally occurs in iron supplementation.

Furthermore, Sangobion® helps fight signs of iron deficiency like fatigue, paleness, dizziness, and lack of focus and concentration which women experience when they neglect themselves. Taking Sangobion® everyday can help you boost your iron, so that you can look and be at your best.

The launch was also the kick-off for Sangobion’s 15-day challenge. In addition to taking Sangobion® everyday for 15 days, these women also made the pledge to practice loving themselves first and to encourage other women to do the same.

Sangobion® is also partnering with select establishments to treat women to special pocket events including a shopping spree and a makeover session, which are expected to draw in more women to the cause.

Sangobion’s new efforts truly show women that caring for others also means having a healthy relationship with yourself. It’s about loving yourself first so you can fully embrace the life you lead.

Clarity Aesthetics offers Invisalign

Having good teeth indicates how healthy and hygienic a person is while providing the confidence needed to face the world. A flawless smile is achieved by practicing proper dental health like religious brushing of teeth and regular visits to the dentist.

However, no amount of oral hygiene can prevent crooked or misaligned teeth. This condition is usually caused by problems during a person’s formative years.

Crooked or misaligned teeth are usually corrected by wearing braces—long the traditional remedy for crooked teeth. But have also been a bane because of the inconvenience and pain they usually cause.

Fortunately today, braces are no longer the only remedy for crooked teeth. Clarity Aesthetics offers a revolutionary treatment called Invisalign, a hassle-free, non-invasive procedure that guarantees perfectly aligned teeth in no time.

Dental health innovation

In the same way that conventional braces and retainers work, Invisalign incrementally corrects misaligned teeth. However, what differentiates Invisalign is that it offers all the benefits of a corrective dental procedure without any of the pain and hassle that come with traditional braces.

Invisalign corrects dental deformities with a series of custom-made clear aligners engineered to gradually and gently shift teeth into place. This set of customized aligners, made of a smooth, comfortable, durable, and BPA-free plastic, are easily removable, which allows for easy cleaning.

Invisalign provides aligners that follow a gradual corrective procedure that is mapped out using state-of-the-art 3-D imaging technology. The process, which involves X-rays, pictures, and impressions, is used to create a virtual image of the teeth that is used to present how the teeth are responding as the treatment progresses. This way, patients can visualize what their teeth will look like after the procedure while providing doctors a clear framework within which to execute the procedure.

Also, by applying advancements in the field of dental health and aesthetics, Invisalign provides solutions to a slew of other dental issues, resulting in better clinical results. The procedure has proven effective in repairing a range of dental problems like gapped teeth, overbite, under bite, open bite, cross bite, and overcrowded teeth.

Make the right choice

Choosing Invisalign over traditional braces is simple because of the three Cs: comfort, convenience, and confidence.

Invisalign provides patients a level of unprecedented comfort unmatched by conventional orthodontics. Unlike braces, the procedure does not involve wires or metal brackets that could be painful and irritating to even the inside of the cheeks and gums. Invisalign’s aligners are easily removable, allowing patients to enjoy hard or chewy foods, which is virtually impossible with braces or retainers.

Invisalign also offers convenience because of the no-fuss process involved in sustaining the treatment. Aligners are replaced with new ones every two weeks or until the inconspicuous Blue Dot Wear Indicator reaches a certain point, signaling patients that it's time to get the next set. Also, dental problems like stains or plaque buildup usually associated with braces will never be an issue.

More important, patients can go out with confidence. Keeping aligners on for the recommended 20-22 hours daily is not a problem because the aligners are smooth, comfortable, and virtually invisible. These can be worn throughout the day without people even noticing they're on.

The benefits of Invisalign's novel and modern procedure allow Clarity Aesthetics to go the extra mile in ensuring that each person gets only the best.

Something special for today's Superwoman: Easy Chicken Recipes

As a mother, taking the time to prepare healthful meals for our family is a great way to show our love. That's the value of making time to eat as a family. I always try to cook family meals, from breakfasts, lunches, snacks and dinners as often as possible. As a model healthful eating habits and to stay connected with our kids, It's very important to us. We want to instill in our children the importance of a strong home life. Even when I had a career outside the home as we, my husband and me,  raised four kids, still, we made time to cook a healthy meals everyday. DepEd ensures safe and learner-centered Palarong Pambansa

For Education Secretary Br Armin Luistro FSC, the Palarong Pambansa is more than just an annual sports meet. “It is the culmination of all sports and physical development programs of DepEd from Kinder to Grade 12. Nakapaloob ito sa K to 12 curriculum,” he explains prior to meeting Department of Education (DepEd) regional directors.

Reminding everyone to exercise the “same level of care we give our students in our schools” Luistro says that the Department’s strength is in developing the curriculum, which is why they have crafted a senior high school (SHS) track focused on sports. “This is not just a program for developing star athletes,” he says. “Our goal is to create a curriculum that will allow athletically-inclined learners to develop skills and knowledge that will allow them to be productive in the field even beyond their peak years.”

“We want them to be able to make a living out of what they know and love.”

While competitors in the games focus on ‘the moment,’ Luistro and his team are looking to the future. DepEd’s Management Committee (MANCOM) chooses from among different bidders (cities or provinces) the next Palaro hosts.

“One of our criteria is what they will do after the games are done. The host invests in facilities and equipment and we want to know if they will be able to maximize these when their Palaro is over.”

“We envision each province to specialize in particular sports,” Luistro says, adding that like the academic and tech-voc tracks, senior high schools cannot offer specializations in all sports.

DepEd’s vision puts the learner first when crafting policy, and this is what anchors the reforms DepEd instituted in recent games. Luistro and Palaro Secretary General and DepEd Assistant Secretary Tonisito Umali ensured insurance coverage participants and worked towards better screening for athletes.

“We have special awards for the most organized delegations and a ‘clean and green’ policy that ensures that we leave the host the way we found it. Or even better.”

As billeting areas for athletes and delegation officials, public schools undergo a “makeover” months before the games – toilets are upgraded, shower areas installed, and classrooms spruced up to serve as sleeping quarters. “Serving as quarters for delegations means an early ‘Brigada Eskwela’ for these schools,” Luistro adds, referring to DepEd’s yearly school maintenance activity.

DepEd and the local government unit have ensured a safe and learner-centered Palarong Pambansa. With the installation of mobile clinics and medical first-aids in every game venue, DepEd and the LGU are able to provide medical assistance to those who need it.

“The Department is working towards improving the safety of our athletes,” Umali said. He added that this starts with the teachers and school administrators who make sure that the schools are safe for the students.

DTC Mobile, a top-selling manufacturer of high-quality and low-cost mobile devices introduce pioneer brand Ambassadors during the Contract Signing  yesterday, May 6, 2014 held in an exclusive media event at the Diamond Hotel, Roxas Blvd. Manila.

The market-leading economy mobile device innovator DTC further solidifies its position in the local mobile industry as it unveils five key local professional basketball athletes as its first brand ambassadors.

All renowned icons of their own league, DTC chose the quintet for their dedication, revolutionary style and powerful performance – similar traits shared by DTC. Today officially marks the beginning of an exciting partnership between DTC and the five ballers as they formally enter an exclusive ambassadorship contract with the mobile device giant.

The all-star ambassador roster showcases one player each from five outstanding teams, including Rain or Shine shooting guard Ryan Araña, Air 21 point guard Simon Atkins, Talk ‘N Text power forward Rommel Niño “KG” Canaleta, 3-time PBA All-Star Meralco Bolts shooting guard Gary David, and 11-time PBA All-Star Redbull point guard Willie Miller.

This is the first time that DTC has launched its own ambassadors since the company’s founding in 2011, making the said athletes the company’s pioneer advocates. Their addition is expected to bring the brand closer to its consumers. As five of the most exceptional players in the league, they symbolize active but practical living, which DTC consumers also exemplify.

“DTC is a brand that capitalizes on a strong commitment to customer satisfaction through the power of innovative technology and human ingenuity. We consider our people as one of our best assets,” Ferdinand Buensalida Jr., General Manager for DTC, elaborates on the partnership.

“Picking our pioneer ambassadors came as a no-brainer. They are all the crème de la crème of their field and we are honoured to welcome more people into our team who share our mission of putting dedication, skills, performance, style and creativity at the heart of everything. These fine gentlemen are an epitome of what DTC is all about, and we’re glad that more than affiliates, they are now friends of the brand,” he adds.

Only a few months shy of its third anniversary in the industry, DTC anticipates a more power-packed year with the addition of their first brand ambassadors, plus new smart gadgets in the pipeline, which are expected for release before the third quarter of 2014 ends.

Ideal Vision is all about options, it lets you see the ideal you

Ideal Vision lets you see the ideal you. Ideal Vision offers a wide variety of eyewear options to help you find the best one for your needs.

It’s all about options. This catchphrase holds true to a lot of aspects, from the most mundane of things like where to go for dinner on a Friday night to the big ones like a career change and this also very much applies on one’s style.

Dr. Joy Go, Ideal Vision Center AVP for Marketing says “Ideal Vision is all about options.”

“Your eyewear is pretty much like a haircut. There are styles that look good on you and there are those that don’t. So we want to offer a wide range of options until you find the best one that’s right for you.”

Ideal Vision has always been dedicated to providing unparalleled superior service to its consumers. Included in this thrust is to offer expertise that can guide people in choosing the best eyewear for them whether it be for fashion or functional purposes.

From high end names to practical brands, the brand has it all to make sure that anyone can find the eyewear that is perfect for their needs. This can only be delivered through the wide variety of options that Ideal Vision has.

“It’s like giving yourself a new perspective. Your ideal perspective. We have eyewear experts that are specially trained to help you choose the one that best suits your face shape, skin colour, hairstyle, and even your personality,” continues Dr. Go.

Gone are the days when you have to buy shades that are too big for your face or getting a frame that makes you look like a different person. Now you can look that way you really want, only much better.

Ideal Vision exclusively carries some of the most glamorous fashionable sunwear from top designer brands like Chopard, Fendi, Dior, and Marc Jacobs that can let your inner elegance shine. Or if you need something functional yet still stylish, the brand offers a wide range of frames, lenses, contact lenses and solutions that are of equal top caliber quality.

More than these goals, Ideal Vision aims to let you see and project “the Ideal You.” Its range of products, their expertise, and dedication is the perfect mix to help anyone find their ideal self if they haven’t discovered it yet or make it shine through if they already did.

“We all have this image of how we see ourselves. Ideal Vision wants you to see and improve that image through our eyewear options,” finishes Dr. Go.

After all, it is all just a matter of perspective right? Make it all better by seeing the ideal you.
