Dancer-actor Mccoy de Leon, Star Magic artist Anjo Damiles to perform at Vivo Mall Tour in SM Megamall, SM Bicutan on May 7

Mccoy de Leon, former Pinoy Big Brother Lucky 7 housemate and Hashtag dance group member, and Star Magic model-turned-actor Anjo Damiles will entertain selfie lovers as part http://www.idc.com/promo/smartphone-market-share/vendor;jsessionid=7595C1498F4F0FBF496CC767E273121B of top five premium global brand Vivo’s first mall tour, to be held on May 7, 5PM, at the SM Megamall and SM Bicutan.

Damiles, who rose to fame after his leading man debut in the soap “Doble Kara” with Julia Montes, will serenade Vivo fans at SM Bicutan in ParaƱaque, while De Leon will show off his slick dance moves at SM Megamall Event Center—both on May 7, Sunday.

De Leon, one of Vivo’s key opinion leaders, is thrilled about meeting Vivo fans, and sharing with Filipinos nationwide what the brand is all about. “Gusto ko syempreng makilala at mapasaya ang mga Vivo consumers, and this mall tour is a way of bringing them happiness. Masaya rin ako na ibahagi pa sa mas maraming tao kung ano ang Vivo, at kung gaano kaganda ang smartphones ng brand.”

A V5 Plus user, Mccoy de Leon has been posting—on social media—his perfect selfies and other images taken with his Vivo phone.

According to Vivo Philippines, the Megamall mall tour, the first of a series that will run for four months, is aimed at entertaining smartphone users and introducing the brand to prospective customers. The series of events naturally follow Vivo’s successful launches of its perfect selfie phones—the V5, V5 Plus and V5 Lite—which expectedly captured the hearts of legions of selfie lovers.

Launched early this year, the V5 Plus, Vivo’s flagship phone, wields the world’s first 20-megapixel dual front camera.

Featuring advanced selfie technology, the V5 Plus offers unique selfie features: the bokeh effect, a tool that creatively blurs the background of a selfie, keeping the subject in focus; the face beauty mode 6.0, a ‘skincare’ tool that corrects blemishes and enhances the subject’s skin tone; and the selfie softlight, an enhanced front camera flash that enables users to take selfies even in poor lighting conditions.

After the initial foray into SM Megamall and SM Bicutan, Vivo will also visit the following malls this May: SM Taytay, SM Sta. Mesa, SM Masinag and Eastwood City.

DLM also continues to offer brand-new and pre-loved purses of highly coveted brands like Chanel, Hermes, Louis Vuitton (LV) , Givenchy, YSL, Balenciaga, Gucci, Prada and many more sought-after brands to long-time patrons and new customers in its showroom located at the G/F CTP Alpha Tower Investment Drive, Madrigal Business Park, Ayala Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

To celebrate its opening launch, DLM Alabang will give a 10% discount voucher on Repair & Restoration Services to all new patrons for a minimum spend of P2,000 for bag spa and restoration all throughout the summer months of April to May 2017.

How DLM Began

With almost 10 years of experience in the luxury bag business, Duchess of Luxury Manila Proprietress Roe Quiambao-Dillera knows first-hand the care and attention needed to maintain these luxury bags.

“Bags are a passion of mine. I started owning and collecting limited edition preloved and brand new premium branded bags even before I set up Duchess of Luxury Manila in 2008.”

In the late ‘90s, owning a Louis Vuitton or a Chanel became an obsession similar to collecting luxury watches, paintings or expensive cars. Ownership of these luxury designer bags was viewed as a badge of high quality and affluence. With no local outlets or store-owned boutiques then for premium bags, people can only buy these brands when traveling abroad.

Roe turned this passion for bags into a lucrative business. She started sourcing genuine branded bags directly from suppliers abroad, with a stringent set of requirements including that even the pre-loved or pre-owned bags should be delivered in their original boxes, dust bags and authenticity cards. “In the past years, my regular clientele has grown and has rewarded me with their trust, because these are not just bags, they are investments. Much like jewelry, a lot of the customers I cater to maintain their bags in top condition to get a fair re-sale value, should they decide to part with their “babies.”

“In my previous corporate job as Department Head of Marketing Communications and PR, I travel to our Head Office in Japan and Regional office in Singapore two to three (2-3) times a year. Back then, it started out as a favor for my close friends who asked me to buy them Chanels or LVs in Japan. Japan was known for selling only authentic Excellent Used Condition designer bags. I would go to Komehiyo and Ginza area to scout for these finds.

And the quality of these preloved bags are really very good. There was even a time the LV bag I bought even had the blue plastic film in its zippered hardware! Connoting that the bag’s condition is brand new but categorized as pre-owned by the Japanese”

Seeing this demand, she confirmed that there was a market for these pre-loved items.

From just her circle of friends, her clientele grew with referrals from friends and acquaintances. To better manage the increasing demand, she decided to put up an online store on Facebook.

In 2015, Roe expanded what Duchess of Luxury Manila has to offer, in the form of top-notch services for the bags she sells to clients.

“My clients would often ask me if I can recommend anyone who can repair a scuffed handle or to remove ballpen marks on their Chanel or LVs.”

In her travels to what are considered as bag capitals of the world such as Florence, Italy and Paris, France, she makes it a point expand her orientation and relevant supplier contacts to make sure that the level of services will be as premium as the bags themselves. “It is really a practical jump from just selling to covering these services for customers. To ensure that a luxury bag can be handed down and enjoyed by the next generation, but, yet still maintain a good market value for reselling, if the need arises, thus expert maintenance is a must. That is why, our team of craftsmen or Artisans offer services that are at par with the best of what the global bag capitals have to offer.”

“The leather material is delicate and will be subjected to daily wear and tear, humidity and environmental pollutants. Overtime, the quality of leather and the bag itself can deteriorate if not properly cared for. This is not a welcome prospect for the owners who spend a big investment in acquiring these bags. Sending the bags to an ordinary local leather repair shop is not suitable as the “tanning” of the leather is very unique to each brand,” explains Roe.

“My vision for DLM Showroom is not just to sell luxury designer bags but to be a venue for servicing these luxury leather items as well as having a community of bag lovers like me, where I can share what I have learned from handling these designer items, including sharing tips on the different kinds of leather--- from Calfskin, Goatskin and Lambskin, distressed versus smooth--- how to properly care for each type of material and even how to spot a non-authentic bag from the real one. A complete luxury bag experience.”

“Owning a luxury designer bag nowadays has developed from just being a status symbol while enjoying the beauty of a finely-crafted leather bag. Based on my personal experience, these are also good investments if you know the right circle of people. Instead of just disposing an old bag when you get tired of it, or you fancy an “upgrade”, you might get back a sizeable amount of money if you resell it, as long as it is in excellent condition,” concludes DLM Proprietress Roe Quiambao-Dillera.

Duchess of Luxury Manila in Ayala Alabang is open from Mondays to Saturdays, from 10 AM to 7 PM.

Filipinos can now travel to Taiwan visa-free starting June !

Through the implementation of visa relaxing measures launched by the ROC (Taiwan) to the Philippine nationals, it is expected that it will greatly enhance the convenience of traveling between Taiwan and Philippines, and further promote bilateral economic, cultural and other exchanges between the two countries.

The ROC announcement lists a Visa Exemption trial program for Philippine nationals, for a period of one year.

“The adjustments are being made following consultations with other ministries as part of an effort to implement the new policy. They are intended to attract nationals from Southeast and South Asian countries to Taiwan for tourism or business purposes, as well as to broaden and deepen Taiwan’s interactions, exchanges, and cooperation with these nations at all levels,” according to the ROC release.

“The new regulations were decided at an interministerial meeting held by MOFA that was attended by the competent authorities in the areas of national security, police affairs, investigation, immigration, tourism, and economy and trade,” ROC MOFA added.

Taiwan was earlier reported to already welcome Filipinos holding Philippine passports who want to visit Taiwan for 30 days.

Online registration is required at https://nas.immigration.gov.tw/nase/ prior to arrival.

The ROC government began simplifying visa regulations for countries covered by its New Southbound Policy, including India and the 10 ASEAN member nations, on August 1, 2016, to attract more travelers to Taiwan for short-term tourism, business, visits to relatives, and cultural exchanges. Measures have included a trial visa exemption program for Thailand and Brunei, inclusion of more countries in and easing of eligibility criteria for the Online Application for ROC (Taiwan) Travel Authorization Certificate system and the distinguished tourist group program, issuance of multiple entry visas of at least two years for nationals of ASEAN members, inclusion of the Philippines in the eVisa program.

Philippine passport holders who intend to visit Taiwan for the purpose of tourism, business, visiting relatives, attending international conference and participating in sport events can apply for the e-visa.

Taiwan is listed on the Visa Restrictions Index 2017 issued by Henley and Partners as one of the 61 countries allowing Philippine passport holders visa-free access.

Coca-Cola STAR program gathers 1,000 women entrepreneurs in Cebu

The economic empowerment program of Coca-Cola Philippines for women micro-entrepreneurs is one of the most responsive and inclusive advocacies in the Asia Pacific region. To date, the Coca-Cola Sari-sari Store Training and Access to Resources (STAR) Program has impacted the lives of more than 80,000 women.

“The STAR Program in the Philippines is a model program on how Coca-Cola can create a more direct and positive contribution to the development of the communities where we are present,” said John Murphy, The Coca-Cola Company Asia Pacific Group president.

The STAR Program has expanded to include women in agriculture, distressed and repatriated women overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) through the Overseas Workers Welfare Association of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), beneficiaries of the government conditional cash transfer program or the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development – National Capital Region, women micro-entrepreneurs under the Kapatid Program of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and GoNegosyo, and women in disaster-stricken areas.

“This year, we are doubling our efforts to bring the STAR Program to more women by partnering with various government agencies and local government units, said Gilda Maquilan, 5by20 Lead and Sustainability Manager of Coca-Cola Philippines.

During a visit to Cebu, Murphy interacted with around 1,000 women micro-entrepreneurs — some of whom are STAR scholars while others are members of the Philippine Association of Store and Carinderia Owners (PASCO). The event enjoined the women in a day of learning, entertainment, and prizes.

Coca-Cola Philippines launched the STAR Program in 2011, in line with the 5by20 global initiative of The Coca-Cola Company to economically empower 5 million women within its value chain by 2020.

The Coca-Cola 5by20 STAR Program was implemented in partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). The STAR Program is designed for women micro-entrepreneurs who own and manage sari-sari stores or carinderias. The Program hopes to address the barriers these women face by helping them achieve business success. The STAR Program has three components: access to training, access to resources, and access to peer mentoring.

To date, the STAR Program has 390 accredited facilitators teaching and training women retailers to become better entrepreneurs. The Program is being implemented in over 47 locations nationwide and has reached more than 80,000 women.

Aside from TESDA, partners also include Coca-Cola FEMSA Philippines, Alay sa Kaunlaran, Inc. (ASKI), First Community Cooperative (FICCO), Negros Women for Tomorrow Foundation, Inc. (NWTF), ASA Philippines, and National Confederation of Cooperatives (NATCCO).

Coca-Cola, with its 19 manufacturing facilities in the Philippines, and over 10,000-strong labor force, is proactive in promoting women empowerment through 5by20

Join Kris Aquino and Fucidin® in the Fight Against Wound Infection

(L-R) Dr. Irene L. Gardiner Medical Engagement Manager for South Asia at Leopharma; Frances Amper-Sales, Magazine Editor, Lifestyle Writer/Blogger; Dr. Empress Eliza C. Carlos-Villapando, M.D., DPPS; Gitte Pugholm Aabo, CEO and President of LEO Pharma ; and TV Show Host Kris Aquino.
Kris Aquino, well known talk show host, actress, producer, entrepreneur, product endorser, and writer , goes full force against wound infection with Fucidin®.

Health talks with theme "Moms unite against wound infection" was held on Tuesday, May 2 at the Ascott Hotel, Bonifacio Global City. An intimate gathering of mom experts and doctors share their experiences on children, wounds and bacterial infection.

Kris Aquino
Kris is well known as a celebrity mother who cares for her sons’ health and wellbeing. “I have two boys and when they get a cut or a wound, I clean it with soap and water for 15 seconds. Then, I apply Fucidin® agad,” she says. “Fucidin® is part of our wound care kit!”
Children are exposed to different types of wounds and scrapes because of their daily activities. Even in the most harmless-looking places, no matter how hard parents try to protect them, they can still get hurt.

Moms need to make sure the wound doesn’t get infected. Infection occurs when bacteria enters the wound through a break on one’s skin. Bacteria may spread and lead to more serious diseases. Usually, the immediate response is to wash a wound well with soap and water. But cleaning may not be enough. It is also essential to apply a topical antibiotic like Fucidin® at the first sign of wound infection.

Fusidic acid/sodium fusidate Fucidin® is a powerful antibiotic that is clinically proven against wound infection. It is fast-acting, working on the infection 2 minutes upon application and deep-penetrating, reaching the skin’s deepest layer 30 minutes after application. It also helps prevent bacteria from spreading.

Fucidin® comes in two variants. Fucidin® cream is ideal for exposed parts of the body like the face and hands, while Fucidin® ointment is ideal for dry, scaly or cracked lesions.

Like Kris, stock up on Fucidin® and don’t take chances. Join the fight against wound infection! Fucidin® is available in leading drugstores nationwide.

Fucidin® is from LEO Pharma, a Danish pharmaceutical company with a mission to help people achieve healthy skin. LEO Pharma is the pioneer in the development of fusidic acid. It has a wide range of products that are marketed in over 100 countries. LEO Pharma has more than 100 years of trusted heritage worldwide.

Fusidic acid/sodium fusidate is the generic name of Fucidin®. Fucidin® is available in leading drugstores nationwide.

If symptoms persist, please consult your doctor.

Xia Vigor leads Jollibee’s Jolly Spaghetti’s sweet-sarap dance in new made-for-digital video

The best tasting, sweet-sarap Jolly Spaghetti has been known to bring out the joyful kid in both kids and the kids at heart. Jollibee recently uploaded a made-for-digital video featuring its newest endorser, multi-talented child star Xia Vigor, leading the Jollibee sweet-sarap dance.

Starring in Jolly Spaghetti’s latest TV commercial that aired last March 26, the expanded made-for-digital version of the TVC shows how the sweet-sarap taste of Jolly Spaghetti brings out the jolly kid in everyone. The video also features the new Jolly Spaghetti jingle and dance.

Jollibee AVP for Marketing Kent Mariano said, “The new Jolly Spaghetti digital video captures what Jolly Spaghetti means to a lot of people. Its sweet-sarap goodness lets kids enjoy being kids while bringing out the kid in us adults. It simply shows there is a Jolly Spaghetti kid in all of us.”

For Xia, Jolly Spaghetti is the best because of its deliciously sweet-sarap sauce and generous serving of hotdog and cheese, always a welcome treat for her after rehearsals and teleserye shoots.

“It’s always fun to eat my favorite spaghetti in the world! I hope more kids like me at mga mommy and daddy nila will continue to enjoy sweet-sarap goodness of Jolly Spaghetti!” she said.

Find Out Cure for Hepatitis C Through HepCured

Let's have health and medical talks ... I am sure you’ve heard of Hepatitis A and B but did you know that there is another one identified as Hepatitis C?

Hepatitis C is a viral infection that causes liver inflammation, sometimes leading to serious liver damage. The hepatitis C virus (HCV) spreads through contaminated blood.

The Hepatitis C virus can cause permanent liver damage. Most of the time, this leads to liver cancer.

There is a Cure for Hepatitis C ! Find Out Through HepCured.

Hepatitis C is spread through contact with the blood of an infected person. The hepatitis C virus is not spread by sweat, tears, or urine. You cannot get it through casual contact, food, water, sneezing, coughing, or breathing air.

The most common way people get hepatitis C is by sharing needles. Tattoos and body piercings done with contaminated needles can spread hepatitis C. Sharing razors, nail clippers, and toothbrushes may also spread the virus. There is a small risk of transmission during sex.

About 80 percent of the people who are infected with hepatitis C are unable to clear the virus from their bodies, becoming hepatitis C carriers. As long as the virus is in the body, it can be passed to other people. It can take as long as 20 years for symptoms of liver disease to appear. A special blood test for hepatitis C is the only way to tell if you have it.

While there are vaccinations against hepatitis A and hepatitis B, there is no vaccine to prevent infection with Hepatitis C. Good news is, there is a cure for Hepatitis C! But very few people know about it.
Enter HepCured -- a movement that promotes awareness and treatment of Hepatitis C which was recently launched through the website www.hepcured.net.
Through HepCured, Hepatitis C patients can search for treatments and remedies that are more accessibly priced and can be found in non-traditional sources.

Four years ago having Hepatitis C was a death sentence, there was no cure yet. Now, powerful medicines with a cure rate of 94%-97% have been discovered. And affordable generic options are available so there is nothing to fear.

Behind HepCured is former photographer, businessman and movie producer a Filipino actor who starred in a couple of films during the late 90s and early 2000 (mostly action movies) and Hepatitis C survivor, Frederick Timothy Yui Dee,  also known as Derek Dee.

“It is through constant updating and sharing of knowledge that the disease can be identified, battled, and defeated,” he declares.
