    PREPARATIONS UNDERWAY FOR 2013 CONVERGENCE

PREPARATIONS are underway for the holding of ‘2013 Leaders and Writers Convergence,’ the biggest gathering of young leaders and writers as well as young professionals to be held at Boracay Ecovillage Resort and Convention Center on April 26-28, this year.

Bannering the theme: “Be the Change! Spark Change! (The Advocacy of Good Governance & Transparency)” the event aims to gather some 500 to 600 young leaders and writers including young professionals, teachers, and bloggers all over the archipelago.

Noel Cabobos, president of the Philippine Young Leaders & Writers Foundation (PYLWF), Inc., an advocacy organization committed to the promotion of literacy among Filipinos and in elevating the art of leadership and writing skills of the younger generation, said that the event is in line with the Foundation’s mission to provide a forum of information, support, and sharing among young leaders and writers to help them improve their craft, and in performing their role as catalysts of change and advocates on good governance and transparency.

Cabobos, who also acts as chair of the event, said the gathering is very significant because it will also serve as the launching pad of the Foundation’s scholarship grants for deserving students who aspire to continue their college education but cannot afford to do so due to financial constraints.

“The first batch of the awardees will be honored in a fitting ceremony to be held this year, which will be included as part of the highlights in the holding of the Convergence.

“The gathering will be made more significant with the participation of fellow guilders from various countries in Asia who wish to interact and network with their Philippine counterparts,” he adds.

The 2013 Convergence will feature environment and socio-related content and hi-impact input from experts in the field. It will also highlight best practices of visionary leaders and policy-makers of various fields of expertise who have made significant contributions in the society and continue to shape the development of the information, education, and media industry.
