Peek inside vivo Global HQ with Anne Curtis

DONGGUAN, CHINA – What truly drives innovation on a global scale? Behind every smartphone lies not only cutting-edge technology and precision manufacturing, but also the people, culture, and vision that bring it to life.

After touring vivo's intelligent manufacturing facilities at its Global Headquarters, Anne Curtis—Filipino actress and vivo Philippines Brand Ambassador—continued her journey through the headquarters campus in Dongguan, China. From its architecture and corporate culture to its innovative vision and social responsibility, she discovered how innovation is woven into every aspect of vivo.

For Anne, the visit offered more than a behind-the-scenes look at vivo. It showed that the brand's innovation is driven not only by technology, but also by its people-first philosophy.

Where tradition meets innovation

During her visit to Dongguan, Anne explored the vivo Exhibition Hall and Global Headquarters campus, gaining a deeper understanding of the brand's innovation philosophy.

Blending traditional Eastern aesthetics with modern architecture, the campus serves as vivo's global hub for innovation and collaboration. From the expansive waterscapes and landscaped gardens to the iconic timber gateway and contemporary office buildings, the campus reflects a harmonious balance between Chinese tradition and technology, creating an inspiring environment for vivo's global teams.

Impressed by the campus, Anne shared, "It's beautiful. I wish I had an office like this in real life." The visit also gave her a firsthand look at how vivo fosters creativity through a thoughtfully designed workplace.

Imaging without limits

During her headquarters tour, Anne also explored the vivo X300 Ultra, gaining a closer look at vivo's latest advances in mobile imaging.

At the exhibition hall, Anne experienced the X300 Ultra paired with the 400mm equivalent vivo ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra. As distant scenes came into sharp focus, she experienced the impressive telephoto performance of vivo's latest flagship imaging smartphone.

As the first Ultra model introduced to global markets, the X300 Ultra combines professional imaging, flagship performance, and long-lasting battery life, bringing vivo's latest innovations to users around the world.

For Anne, who has spent much of her career in front of the camera, the X300 Ultra strikes a balance between professional capabilities and everyday portability, making high-quality content creation easier than ever. The experience also gave her a deeper appreciation of how vivo continues to make advanced mobile imaging more accessible through innovation.

More than a tour

For Anne, the headquarters tour revealed a side of vivo that goes beyond technology. From its people and culture to the ideas behind its products, the visit gave her a deeper understanding of what defines the brand.

"It was always great to learn more about vivo in detail. It was such a variety; the brand that keeps on innovating," Anne shared.

Together, these experiences painted a more complete picture of vivo as a brand.

Anne's journey to China continues. Follow vivo Philippines on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, X, and TikTok for more highlights from her visit.

The vivo X300 Ultra, which Anne experienced during her headquarters tour, is now available for Php 109,999 at vivo concept stores nationwide and the vivo e-store

PLDT Enterprise Advances Resilience-First Thinking Across Digital Transformation, Cybersecurity and Agentic AI Journey of Philippine Enterprises

As artificial intelligence changes how organizations work—and how cyber threats move—business leaders are being asked to think beyond adopting the newest technology. The more urgent question is whether their people, systems, and operations can continue functioning when disruption happens.

PLDT Enterprise is helping move that conversation forward through a series of speaking engagements, workshops, and executive discussions focused on digital and cyber resilience, preemptive defense, data protection, and the emerging role of Agentic AI in business operations.

Through the participation of Alexis Bernardino, Principal CXO Advisor and Head of the CXO Advisory at PLDT Enterprise, the organization has brought its perspectives to major industry platforms, including the Gov Excellence Summit 2026, Cyber Resilience Summit 2026, Digital Next Philippines 2026, and the upcoming Philippines Agentic AI Forum.

These engagements build on PLDT Enterprise’s continuing work through its Preemptive Cyber Defense discussions, Data Exposure Defense Workshop and CXO Cyber and Digital Resilience Masterclass—bringing complex technology conversations closer to the real concerns of business leaders across the public sector, conglomerates, banking and financial services, key industries, and SMEs.

Moving from digital transformation to resilience

For years, digital transformation has largely been associated with modernization: moving to the cloud, connecting more systems, and introducing new platforms. But as businesses become more digital, they also become more exposed to disruptions that can affect customers, employees, revenue, and public trust.

PLDT Enterprise is encouraging organizations to broaden the conversation—from simply transforming operations to building operations that can withstand, respond to, and recover from disruption.

“In a landscape being reshaped by AI, transformation alone is no longer enough. Organizations must also ask whether their business operations can remain secure, trusted, and available when disruption happens,” said Bernardino. “Digital and cyber resilience means building that readiness across the whole enterprise anticipating the worst case scenario—from connectivity infrastructure, network, cloud, cybersecurity, data, and ultimately to AI.”

GovXcellence 2026 Summit showcased a powerful shift toward a unified, data-driven ecosystem, highlighting breakthrough innovations in cybersecurity and enterprise mobility. From high-level plenary sessions to cutting-edge tech exhibits, GovXcellence 2026 has officially set a new benchmark for digital governance, proving that the roadmap to a modernized Philippines is not just a vision but an active, accelerating reality.

At the Cyber Resilience Summit 2026, industry leaders examined how organizations can remain operational and trusted even during an attack. The gathering placed resilience at the center of business strategy, highlighting the need for stronger governance, practical response frameworks, and readiness for AI-driven threats.

Digital Next Philippines 2026 widened the discussion to the country’s evolving digital economy, bringing together leaders from government, banking, public services, retail, telecommunications, and other industries. The summit explored how organizations can pursue innovation while protecting data, customers, and institutional trust.

PLDT Enterprise’s participation across these platforms reflects a consistent message: cybersecurity cannot be treated as an isolated technical function. It must be connected to business continuity, customer experience, leadership decisions, and long-term growth.

Preparing for threats before compromise

One of the key ideas PLDT Enterprise is advancing is the shift from a purely reactive security posture toward preemptive cyber defense—helping organizations identify exposure and strengthen defenses before an incident becomes a business crisis.

This approach is supported by what the CXO Advisory Group describes as data exposure defense and an end-to-end view of enterprise architecture. Rather than looking at connectivity, networks, cloud, cybersecurity, and AI as separate layers, organizations are encouraged to see how these components work together throughout the transformation journey.

The goal is straightforward:
help businesses neutralize risks before compromise.

For decision-makers, this means asking practical questions. Where are the organization’s most critical exposures? Which services must remain available during an attack? How quickly can teams detect, respond, and recover? And as AI becomes embedded in more workflows, how can it be used not only by attackers, but also by defenders?

Bringing Agentic AI into real operations

The next stage of this conversation centers on Agentic AI—systems designed to move beyond providing recommendations and toward planning, deciding, executing, and optimizing workflows with greater autonomy.

At the upcoming Philippines Agentic AI Forum, the focus turns to how enterprises can move from AI experimentation toward production-ready applications that create measurable business outcomes. For PLDT Enterprise, this creates an opportunity to advance an Agentic AI Operations practice that brings together infrastructure modernization, networks, cloud, cybersecurity, data, and AI.

“AI is turbo charging the speed and scale of change on both sides of cybersecurity,” Bernardino added. “The same technology that introduces new risks can also help organizations detect unusual activity earlier, respond faster, and operate more intelligently. The challenge is to adopt it with the right architecture, controls, and governance from the beginning.”

This integrated approach allows PLDT Enterprise to support organizations at different stages of their journey—from enterprises strengthening foundational connectivity and cloud environments to leaders preparing for more advanced AI-enabled operations.

Turning expertise into practical guidance

Across its industry engagements, PLDT Enterprise aims to make resilience more understandable and actionable for executives and operational teams.

The value of thought leadership lies not only in discussing future technologies, but in helping organizations make better decisions today: protecting essential services, safeguarding customer trust, preparing people for disruption, and ensuring that innovation does not come at the expense of security.

By bringing together its fixed, wireless, and ICT capabilities with advisory perspectives on digital and cyber resilience to Agentic AIOps Practice, PLDT Enterprise is helping organizations see a more complete path forward—one where transformation, protection, and continuity move together.

As AI adoption accelerates and cyber risks continue to evolve, resilience will increasingly define which organizations can adapt with confidence. Through its growing presence in major industry conversations, PLDT Enterprise is helping Philippine businesses prepare not only for the technology ahead, but for the people, operations, and trust that must remain protected along the way.

How disaster-proofing businesses can help mompreneurs thrive

A typical day for a mompreneur involves balancing family responsibilities, customer orders, and business growth. In the Philippines, where typhoons, floods, and other calamities can disrupt daily life without warning, business as usual can change in an instant.

For home-based entrepreneurs, these are more than natural events. They can damage supplies, delay deliveries, cut off communication with customers, and disrupt an important source of household income.

Building a disaster-resilient business does not require a complicated corporate plan. It starts with understanding the risks of operating from home and preparing simple ways to protect essential resources, continue essential operations, and recover more quickly when disruptions occur.

Here are some of the most common challenges mompreneurs may face during a crisis, along with practical steps they can take:

1. The inventory trap: Spoiled or damaged supplies

Power outages can spoil ingredients, while flooding can damage raw materials, packaging, and finished products.

What to do: Keep supplies on raised shelves or in waterproof containers, and have frozen ice packs ready to help protect perishables during short outages.

2. The logistics halt: Delayed deliveries and lost connectivity

Severe weather can suspend courier services and make it difficult to update customers when connectivity is unstable.

What to do: Inform customers about possible delays before conditions worsen and save ready-to-send advisory messages on your phone. Keep alternative courier contacts, but never arrange deliveries when conditions are unsafe.

3. The digital freeze: Lost records and delayed payments

A damaged device or an unavailable digital payment platform can prevent you from accessing orders, supplier contacts, and funds for urgent expenses.

What to do: Regularly back up essential business files to a secure cloud service and keep an offline list of urgent orders and supplier contacts. Set aside a small emergency business fund for times when digital payments are unavailable.

Connectivity as part of business readiness

For a home-based business, reliable connectivity helps mompreneurs receive weather updates, communicate with customers and suppliers, manage digital payments, and respond quickly to disruptions.

PLDT Home supports this readiness by strengthening its network, sending proactive service advisories, and deploying PLDT At Your Service teams to affected communities as needed. Through free Wi-Fi, calls, charging stations, and customer assistance, these efforts can help mompreneurs stay informed, reconnect with customers, and resume operations sooner after a calamity.

The value of community as a support network

Preparing for emergencies shouldn’t feel like a solo effort. For home-based creators, business resilience goes hand in hand with community support. Connecting with fellow mompreneurs offers practical insights, emotional support, and real-world lessons that you won’t find on a standard checklist.

PLDT Home’s Madiskarte Moms, an online community tailored for mompreneurs, gives women a dedicated space to exchange ideas, share logistics updates during bad weather, and support one another through both everyday hurdles and sudden disasters. Hearing how another home-based mom managed a multi-day power outage or handled delivery complaints provides a practical blueprint for your own business.

While natural disasters cannot be prevented, their impact on your hard-earned business can be significantly reduced. By combining realistic contingency plans, simple digital habits, and the backing of a like-minded community like MMPH, mompreneurs can build more resilient businesses that adapt, recover, and continue to thrive, no matter what challenges come their way.

Join PLDT Home’s Madiskarte Moms PH group to meet and interact with a wide network of inspiring mompreneurs.

LG Ambassador Challenge Supports Ambulance Project for Upland Laguna

A community-led plan to bring faster and safer emergency transportation to an upland barangay in Laguna has been named a winner of the 2026 LG Ambassador Challenge.

The LG Ambassador Challenge in the Philippines is an ongoing initiative by LG Electronics that empowers local advocates, organizations, and community leaders to propose and implement sustainable solutions for pressing social, environmental, and healthcare challenges.

The program runs calls for entries for innovative, community-focused project proposals, particularly in areas like medical aid and community healthcare. Winning entries receive funding and institutional support to turn their ideas into action, directly benefiting underserved municipalities across the country.

Titled “Life Saver on Wheels: Ambulance for Upland Brgy. Galalan,” the latest winning project was jointly proposed by Missionary Yoo Byeong-guk and Pastor Ramil B. Repolido to address the challenges residents face when seeking urgent medical care in Barangay Galalan, Pangil, Laguna.

Located in a mountainous area approximately 20 kilometers from the nearest hospital, the barangay has limited transportation options during emergencies. Sitio Gisgis, one of its farthest and most underserved communities, currently has no passable road or vehicle access, making it especially difficult for residents to reach health centers or hospitals.

In the absence of a dedicated barangay ambulance, patients have had to rely on improvised stretchers, being carried manually, motorcycles, private vehicles, and even a barangay garbage truck. These arrangements can result in dangerous delays and unsafe transport conditions during accidents, pregnancy complications, strokes, and other medical emergencies.

The proposal identified senior citizens, children, pregnant women, and persons with disabilities among those most affected by the current situation.

Nakhyun Seong, Managing Director of LG Electronics Philippines, said, “The LG Ambassador Challenge supports individuals who understand their communities’ most pressing needs and are ready to turn that understanding into meaningful action. ‘Life Saver on Wheels’ responds to an urgent and deeply human need: helping residents reach medical care when every minute matters. We are honored to support a project built on compassion, local leadership, and the shared belief that Life’s Good when communities can care for one another.”

A lifeline built around local needs

At the heart of the winning proposal is the acquisition and deployment of a basic life-support ambulance that will serve as Barangay Galalan’s dedicated emergency response vehicle.

The project is designed not only to provide transportation, but also to strengthen the community’s broader emergency response system. Planned activities include coordination with the barangay council, Rural Health Unit, and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office; basic first aid and emergency response training for volunteers and staff; the establishment of emergency protocols; and the creation of a hotline or contact system for ambulance requests.

A community awareness campaign will also help residents understand when and how to access the ambulance service.

The project has three main targets: to provide immediate transportation for at least 200 residents requiring urgent medical attention each year, reduce emergency hospital transport delays by 50%, and ensure 24/7 access to safe emergency transportation for all residents of Barangay Galalan.

Pastor Ramil B. Repolido, project co-proponent and designated ambulance manager, said, “For families in Barangay Galalan, access to emergency care can be shaped by distance, terrain, and the availability of safe transportation. This ambulance will give our community a more dependable way to respond during critical situations. More than a vehicle, it represents greater security for residents and the assurance that help can move more quickly when it is needed most.”

Community-managed for long-term impact

Upon procurement, the ambulance will be formally donated to Barangay Galalan and stationed at the barangay hall, making it accessible to residents.

Pastor Repolido will serve as ambulance manager, overseeing scheduling and dispatch coordination, vehicle maintenance and documentation, emergency response protocols, reporting, and accountability.

The ambulance will be operated by trained local personnel, barangay emergency responders, or BDRRMC members, and community health workers. All operators will undergo Basic Life Support or first aid training.

A nurse or trained health worker will also be available on an on-call basis, with support from the Rural Health Center, barangay health workers, including a midwife, and emergency responders.

To sustain the service, ongoing expenses such as fuel, maintenance, minor repairs, and applicable driver allowances will be covered by the Barangay LGU through shared management and operational responsibilities.

The proposal outlines a total project budget of ₱1.6 million. This includes the cost of the ambulance, medical equipment such as a stretcher, oxygen, and blood-pressure set, first aid and emergency supplies, driver and responder training, and initial fuel and maintenance.

Local leadership in motion

The winning proponents bring experience in community engagement, coordination, volunteer mobilization, public service, and health and safety advocacy. Their project reflects a practical response developed by people who understand the realities faced by residents on the ground.

By combining a dedicated emergency vehicle with trained local operators, medical support, clear protocols, and long-term barangay management, “Life Saver on Wheels” aims to strengthen emergency preparedness and community resilience beyond the project’s initial implementation.

For Barangay Galalan, the ambulance represents more than a faster trip to the hospital. It offers families a safer option during critical moments and brings potentially life-saving care closer to a community where difficult terrain has too often stood in the way.

Through the 2026 LG Ambassador Challenge, LG continues to support community-driven ideas that translate care into action and help create a better life for those who need it most.

Federal Express Corporation (FedEx), one of the world’s largest express transportation companies, has opened a new World Service Center in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, further strengthening its network in the Visayas region and enhancing support for businesses engaged in international trade.

Located at the Ground-Air Logistics Corporation (GALCO) Complex, 2nd Floor, Unit 3, within the Mactan-Cebu International Airport Cargo Complex and adjacent to the Bureau of Customs (BOC) Cebu office, the new facility is strategically positioned to streamline customs clearance.

On-site clearance processors are available to assist customers with customs-related inquiries and documentation requirements at the World Service Center. In addition, the facility serves as a convenient shipment drop-off location, providing greater flexibility for businesses and individuals seeking access to FedEx services without scheduling a pickup.

"As Cebu continues to strengthen its position as a major hub for trade, manufacturing, and entrepreneurship, FedEx remains committed to investing in infrastructure that helps local businesses connect with global opportunities," said Maribeth Espinosa, managing director, FedEx Philippines. "The Cebu World Service Center brings our services closer to customers, making international shipping more accessible, efficient, and convenient. From established exporters to growing small and medium enterprises, customers can rely on FedEx for the expertise, connectivity, and support they need to expand beyond borders and unlock new growth opportunities."

The new facility complements FedEx's existing air network in Cebu, which includes six inbound flights weekly (Sunday through Friday) and five outbound flights weekly (Monday through Thursday and Saturday). Together, these investments enhance the company's operational capabilities in the Visayas, enabling businesses in Cebu and neighboring provinces to benefit from faster, more seamless access to more than 220 countries and territories through the FedEx global network.

As cross-border e-commerce and regional trade continue to accelerate, the Cebu World Service Center underscores the company’s commitment to strengthening logistics infrastructure in key growth markets across the Philippines.
