“HEROES OF CHANGE” in the first-ever Superbook fun run !

Run and become "heroes of change" to help our kababayans in need with the first-ever Superbook benefit fun run dubbed "READY… GIZMO…GO!"

"READY… GIZMO…GO!" on December 14, 2013 at the Bonifacio Global City will also benefit the CBN Asia Prayer Center, the Asian Center for Missions and the CBN Asia Media (The 700 Club Asia, Superbook and Tanikala).

Warm up starts at 4:30 am and the official gun start for the 10K run is at 6:00 am.

Join Gizmo, the Superbook agents and other Superbook lovers as they make “every kilometer count” and contribute in raising funds for the disaster relief operations of Operation Blessing, the humanitarian arm of CBN Asia. Various OB Teams have now set up a base camp in the most hard-hit areas of Super Typhoon Yolanda distributing relief goods, doing medical missions and trauma counseling.

Run and Become Heroes of Change

Superbook takes the lead in the fun run with its phenomenal success in its first season drawing close to 20 million viewers.

And in this time when everyone is joining hands to help our kababayans in the Visayas, Superbook, through its “Bida ng Pagbabago Advocacy,” invites everyone, especially the kids to participate in this first ever “Ready… Gizmo… Go!” Fun Run and help raise funds for the CBN Asia Family of Ministries.

Superbook’s “Bida ng Pagbabago Advocacy” believes in empowering the children of today. As young as they are, they can already be of influence and become examples to their friends, families and community.

“The effect of Superbook on the family has been amazing. Through Superbook and the adventures of Gizmo, Chris and Joy, more and more children have developed the joy of Bible-reading and have become heroes of change by showing positive difference at home, in school and their community. Superbook also empowers parents to introduce positive values to their children in a fun way and it has become a catalyst for families to become closer and to grow in love and faith,” says Icko Gonzalez, Superbook Project Head in the Philippines.

How To Register

Participants may choose to join either of the following categories: 1K, 3K, 5K or 10K. Registration fees are P300 for the 1K; P400 for the 3K; P500 for the 5K and P600 for the 10K, inclusive of singlet, race bib, exclusive Ready…Gizmo…Go! ballers, and finisher’s shirt for 10K.

Neon Invasion! A Neon fun run, A New Wave Party for a Cause!

Let's be a part of Neon fun run – New Wave Party for a Cause! ♥

Here's the first ever Neon Fun Run in The Philippines!

Neon Fun Run is an electrifying 5k race for people who enjoy gathering with friends, running, walking, jogging, and run in the night illuminated with neon lights.

Visit for updates and more info : https://www.facebook.com/neoninvasion?ref=ts&fref=ts

Participants will get 4 glow sticks in every kilometer they run so the more you run, the more neon glow sticks you’ll have.

So will you stay in the 70s lane? or at stage new wave 80s? or at 90s party leg or go all the way to the techno/trance party?

This event is less about speed and more about enjoying a night of neon lights and neon glow body paint under LED and black lights with friends and family (THIS IS NOT A RAVE).
Each course is designed to light up the night with several UV black light glow-zones, upbeat dance music of the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and current top hits and amped runners who are dressed up and ready to party. Although it is a 5k run and everybody can run as hard as they’d like, most just want to light-it-up, have a good time, and dance their way to the finish.

The fun doesn’t end there because the after run celebration near the finish line is the best part of the Neon fun run – New Wave Party for a Cause

ABS-CBN stages simultaneous 5-city "ONE RUN, ONE PHILIPPINES"

Pinoys in five cities can run to save five environment projects including Pasig River rehabilitation
Thousands of participants are expected to take part in the “One Run, One Philippines,” the five-city simultaneous advocacy run of ABS-CBN in the Philippines and the United States this October 6 as part of ABS-CBN’s 60th anniversary celebration.

In cooperation of ABS-CBN Foundation’s Kapit Bisig Para sa Ilog Pasig (KBPIP), Regional Network Group (RNG) and The Filipino Channel (TFC), the “One Run, One Philippines” will invade Quezon City, Cebu City, Bacolod City, Davao City, and Los Angeles (USA) to clamor for the protection of various environmental advocacies.

"Participants are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles as disposable cups will not be provided at water stations positioned along the roads to promote environmental awareness and minimize waste production," said ABS-CBN Foundation managing director Gina Lopez at the press conference held at the Torre Venezia Suites, the official hotel partner of the event.

The Quezon City leg or the fifth “Run for the Pasig River” will be held at Quezon Memorial Circle (QMC) with 6:00 AM gunstart for both 3K and 5K categories. Starting line is located at the Technohub overpass. Participants will go straight along Commonwealth Avenue then head to QMC for the finish line.

As part of its preparation, lanes that will be used for the race will be closed at 2 AM on the event day, while the two outermost lanes on both sides of Commonwealth Avenue will remain open. The motorists are advised to take alternate routes if possible as heavy traffic is expected.

Parking zones located at Philcoa, Department of Agrarian Reform, Department of Agriculture, Department of Environmental and Natural Resources, Sugar Regulatory Commission, Trinoma, Wildlife, Quezon City Hall, National House Authority, and side streets of University Avenue, Visayas Avenue, North Avenue, Quezon Avenue, East Avenue and Kalayaan Avenue have been reserved for participants with vehicles.

Meanwhile, the three provincial legs will all start at 4:30 AM with its 21K category followed by the 5K and 10 K at 5:30 AM. Starting line of Cebu leg is at SM City Cebu, Davao leg is at the Abreeza Mall, while the Bacolod leg is at the Provincial Capitol Lagoon.

The Los Angeles leg, on the other hand, will begin at 7:30 AM with its 1K Kiddie Run, 5K and 10K categories at Burbank, California.

The Cebu leg will benefit coastal conservation in Daan Paz; the Davao leg will support the ecotourism projects in Marilog Tourist Center; the Bacolod leg will help the mangrove and livelihood projects in Punta Taytay, Sum-ag River rehabilitation, and ecotourism projects in Bacolod City Water District Campuestuhan Watershed; while the Los Angeles leg will fund the Green Initiative of Bantay Kalikasan.

Kapamilya stars Anne Curtis, Kim Atienza, Kim Chiu, Karylle and model-blogger Erwann Heusaff will lead the “Run for the Pasig River” in Quezon City that will again raise funds for the rehabilitation of the Pasig River and its tributaries.

Paulo Avelino, Jayson Abalos (Cebu leg); Maja Salvador, Aaron Villaflor, Bryan Termulo (Davao City); Joem Bascon, Paul Jake Castillo, Bangs Garcia; and Jake Cuenca (Los Angeles), will represent the four other legs of "One Run, One Philippines," which will also benefit various environmental projects.

The KBPIP has organized four successful runs for the Pasig River and had raised P25.94 million. In 2009, the fun run funded the initial phase of Estero de Paco’s clean-up, while the historic “10.10.10 Run for the Pasig River” funded the second phase and even broke the Guinness World Record for the “most number of participants in a running event” with 116,086 runners.
The 2011 and 2012 runs for the Pasig River are currently aiding the rehabilitation of 16 esteros in Quezon City and Manila including the Estero de San Miguel and four others behind the Malacañan Palace.

Athletes on Their Mark for the Safeguard Active 5i50 Triathlon

The Safeguard Active 5i50 Triathlon was officially launched last Monday in a press conference at the Hotel Dusit Thani, Makati City by Sunrise Event Inc. CEO and President Wilfred Uytengsu.

Safeguard will gather local and international pros as well as age-groupers for the first ever Safeguard Active 5i50 Triathlon this  October 16.
Athletes know the importance of maintaining a proper regimen to enhance performance. They rely on state-of-the-art gear that delivers speed, proper nutrition that guarantees endurance, and a training program that increases their strength. But when it comes to hygiene, one important aspect is often overlooked: the skin, which is actually our first line of defense when it comes to germs.

There’s no body part quite as tortured as the human skin. Every day, it has to endure all the visible and microscopic dirt and grime from all the different elements around us. But it’s the triathletes who put their skins through the most abuse: as they splash, pedal, and stride, they expose their skins to a harsh mix of sun, chlorine or salt water, and dirt. These, along with excessive sweat and friction from gear, can take its toll on the skin – and it can lead to skin diseases and illness.

Safeguard Active 5i50 Triathlon – a world-class and intimate race that will surely put those skins to the test. The course takes place in Subic, which promises a challenging yet controlled environment for both experts and beginners. The event will be composed of a 1.5KM swim at Kamana Resort [Swim Venue], a 40KM bike course along the rolling hills of Subic [Bike Venue], and will culminate with a 10KM run at a new route along the shady forest [Run Venue]. The entire course is set against the backdrop of Subic Bay’s breathtaking scenery, which promises a unique race for participants and an exclusive enjoyable experience for their families who will come to support.

In partnership with Sunrise Events, Inc., the agency behind the highly successful Ironman 70.3 and Iron Kids, this leg is part of the 5150 triathlon series, the world’s largest international Olympic race series in the world. It is also the first non-drafting international race series of its kind, offering a competitive platform for professional and age group athletes.

Safeguard keeps up with those who love the game by leveling up to their demands. The brand has been keeping family skin healthy for more than 75 years, using a mix of unbeatable germ protection and fresh, cleansing elements to care for Filipino skin. It has been every household’s partner for preventing disease and pursuing an active, worry-free life. For the 5150 race, Safeguard aims to showcase its new line Safeguard Active, a product specifically targeted for athletes’ extreme needs.

Safeguard Active boasts of a higher level of anti-bacterial ingredient, which inhibits the growth and re-growth of odor-causing germs for hours. It comes in both soap and body wash form, and its fresh scent can last all day and withstand both sweat and water. It’s the perfect protection booster for the body’s first line of defense.

For battle-tested athletes who aim to beat their personal records, the Safeguard Active 5150 Triathlon is a perfect chance to bring the 2013 race season to an iconic finish. Meanwhile, neophyte racers will be thrilled to participate in their first Olympic-level distance triathlon event.

It’s a day that promises exhilarating challenges for the adrenaline-hungry, coupled with unbeatable Safeguard protection to ensure a fresh, unhampered finish. No matter what kind of athlete you are, it’s time to get your skin in the game.

2013 is the year of running for Adidas

Gear up for all in for Philippines, adidas King Of The Road 2013. This is for health and wellness through sports. And for bigger run features, KOTR is here for all in for your Alma Mater.

Last February, adidas launched Energy Boost, a groundbreaking innovation in running footwear technology featuring superior cushioning that allows runners to store and unleash energy more efficiently with every stride.
To continue their efforts for all things running, adidas is back with its annual King of The Road (KOTR), one of the most anticipated races across Southeast Asia. This year, adidas is pushing the limits for KOTR to be even bigger than before as it opens a new category exclusively for students 25 years old and under.

The 10K Relay for Students is set specifically to encourage the youth to get into a healthy, active lifestyle and to give them a chance to represent their alma mater. Students need to team up in pairs – one male and one female – with each running 5K to complete the total 10K distance. Winners don’t just get individual cash prizes; they will also win prizes for their schools.

Jason Gervasio, Brand Communications and Sports Marketing Manager of Adidas Philippines, said that “adidas has always been an advocate of health and wellness through sports. The King of the Road is a testament to that fact.”

“The new School Championship category aims not only to promote fitness, but also to inspire teamwork and pride as students are given the chance to be ambassadors of their respective campuses.”

The adidas KOTR 2013 will be held on July 7, 2013 at Bonifacio Global City. Apart from the School Championship category, the race will include distances of 10K for the general public and 16.8K with Open and Closed categories. The Bull Runner Dream Marathon : A dream run for moms

Nursing mothers at The Bull Runner marathon not only ran— they expressed milk too!
Running a marathon—all 42 kilometers of it—is no easy feat, even for seasoned athletes. So it is especially remarkable to see moms who not only raced to the finish line, but also did some milk expression along the way.
This is precisely what happened at The Bull Runner Dream Marathon held last February 24 at Nuvali in Laguna. Participating moms, which included actress Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan, were provided two breastfeeding booths special pit stops by Philips Avent, the brand Number 1 recommended by moms. These pit stops housed the Philips Avent breast pump, and were the first of their kind in any marathon.
“Going for long hours without expressing milk to feed our infants can cause anxiety to us nursing moms. And this is true even during a run! It was a relief to know that Philips Avent was behind us mothers in this race,” Maricel reveals.

The Philips Avent Breastfeeding Booths were strategically placed in each half of the 42K run and it served as a venue for breastfeeding mothers like Maricel to comfortably express milk and still perform their motherly duties even in the heat of the race. Each pit stop was equipped with sterilizers, coolers, handy thermal bags, and comfortable chairs all in the privacy of this unique pit stop.
Calling her dream run “42@42,” Maricel trained long hours, rain or shine, all in the midst of wrapping up a movie shoot, being a hands-on mom, attending to various engagements, family gatherings and nursing her baby Solana. Nothing came between Maricel and finishing the 42K marathon.

Me-Ann Achacoso, Philips Avent’s Business Development Manager explains, “Philips Avent wanted to help Maricel realize her dream of completing the marathon because running 42K is no easy task, to say the least. It takes a lot of determination and hard work, and we are very proud of Maricel for reaching her goal.”

Achacoso concludes, “It’s our commitment at Philips Avent to support moms in whatever endeavor they undertake. Maricel and the other moms who ran the marathon proved that you can follow your dream while continuing to give the best care for your baby.”
