Gloc-9 returns with "TULAy"!

GLOC-9 "TULAy" EP PUSHES THE OPM SCENE FURTHER

With years of hardwork and countless of hits under his belt, the name Gloc-9 has become synonymous to Rap Icon in the OPM Industry. This 2019, Gloc-9 returns with "TULAy" a new EP that brings new music from the rapper and pushes the OPM scene even further. 

As its name suggests, Gloc-9 brings two concepts together in "TULAy" — it is a play on the tagalog words "tula" (poem) and "tulay" (bridge), both terms signifying what the rapper wants to embody in this EP. For one, hip-hop is at the forefront as Gloc showcases his skills in writing hard-hitting and socially relevant verses, also experimenting with new styles and flows. 

But it does not stop there — while the beloved rap icon pushes his music forward, he also uses the EP as a platform to introduce young blood to the OPM scene.

It’s usual to drink water, wear light colored clothes, and eat fruits and vegetables that have high water content during this season. But in this scorching tropical heat, what else can we do to be summer-ready?

Here are some useful home tips:

● Consider replacing old air conditioners at home.

Jar’d IN Salad House held its grand opening on May 31, to offer easy, fresh and healthy salad that can be on the dinner table in no time.

Jar’d IN Salad House has an open salad station that customers  see their orders being made on the spot. 

The salad station has a selection of fresh vegetable -  lettuce, chopped cherry tomatoes, assorted raw, sliced cucumbers, carrots, celery, olives and green or red bell peppers, Feta cheese, dried bread croutons, chopped bacon, cooked cold meats, chicken breast, ham, shrimp, tofu, walnuts, sweet corn, cooked beans, boiled eggs, nacho chips, crispy noodles, fresh cut fruit slices  as grapes, pomelo, watermelon and various types of salad dressing.

The  Jar’d IN Salad House owners Paul Gan, Edmil Chan and Ed Paras shared to us during the exclusive interview, "to ensure the quality and freshness of the ingredients, the source of their lettuces, vegetables and fruits is from Benguet Growers Association." The ingredients of the salad  are fresh from the Baguio farm guaranteed! 

Some of their easy, fresh and made-to-order signature salad are : “Greek Salad,” “Cowboy Crispy Chicken Caesar Salad,” “Cancun BBQ Burrito Bowl”, “Vietnamese Banhme Pomelo Salad”, and “Amazonia Grain Powerbowl”.

“Cowboy Crispy Chicken Caesar Salad”  ( Bacon Caesar dressing pored over the sliced fried Chicken Finger with Romaine lettuce, cherry tomato, halves hard boiled egg and topped with parmesan cheese)

“Amazonia Grain Powerbowl” (Basil Pesto Yogurt dressing, mixed with romaine lettuce, red and green cabbage, cucumber, carrot, turnip and pomelo and garnished with peanuts, cilanto and dressed with their special Hoisin sauce. And a scoop of red rice makes it a poweful meal)

“Vietnamese Banhme Pomelo Salad”  ( like the common Bahnmi sandwich, this salad can have chicken or ham or tofu or shrimp, your choice. Mixed with sliced veges and pomelo, and topped with crispy sotanghon noodles, nuts, dressed with pineaple nuac cham)

 “Greek Salad”  (Mixed of specialized Honey Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing, Romaine lettuce, arugula and topped with bell peppers, Red onion, Sliced cherry tomato, halves Grapes, watermelon and garnished with crunchy walnuts and crumbled feta cheese)

“Cancun BBQ Burrito Bowl” (Mexican salad with cherry tomatoes, red onion, corn, Nacho chips and drizzled with BBQ sauce and dressed with Basil Pesto Yogurt- Caesar dressing, or Honey Balsamic Vinaigrette, Roasted Chicken Breast is tossed in bbq sauce)

Price range: P220-P330 per bowl or takeout with a transparent jar. If you chill the jar right away, the salad can last up to two days.

Jar'd IN Salad House has seating for 30, and have limited outdoor seating. It is open daily 10AM to 8PM. 

They also serve refreshing specialty drinks: Lemonade Chili Juice, Carrot-Ginger-Orange Juice, and Ampalaya Mango Juice. Hot tea for sharing, good for four!
