2GO Travel, the Philippines’ largest premier sea travel provider, gives passengers another chance to score promo fares for Safe, Sulit, Saya voyages to various destinations via a Sea Sale with one-way fares for as low as Php99.

The Php99 promo fare covers voyages from Manila to Tagbilaran vice versa. Meanwhile, passengers can avail tickets for as low as Php399 for voyages from Manila to Bacolod, Cebu, Dumaguete, Iloilo, as well as Palawan (Puerto Princesa and Coron) vice versa.

SB19 announces release of new single “WYAT” and upcoming world tour

P-pop Kings SB19 announces their return to the music scene with WYAT [Where You At], a disco-pop track that highlights the urgency of disconnection to reconnection of the times. The upcoming release marks SB19’s first new material as a group in a year after launching their 2021 EP, Pagsibol.

A series of cryptic riddles reveals SB19’s much-anticipated comeback single and upcoming world tour.

“It’s been a year, the word 'hiatus' may sound negative but we took it from a different perspective. We maximized the opportunity to think more as to what we can improve on, how we can prepare for our comeback,” says SB19 Stell.

SB19 Ken mentions “We are thrilled to be releasing a new song for our fans. Bigger, better. I hope that A'TIN will appreciate at best the work we've done for our upcoming tour.” WYAT drops on all streaming platforms on September 2, 2022, with the official music video to be released on the same day.

The award-winning and Billboard nominee Philippine Pop phenom is also set to stage their biggest local and international tour to date. WYAT [Where You At] Tour kicks off on September 17, 2022 at Araneta Coliseum, to be followed by a series of shows in Clark, Cebu, Davao and more.

“This will be the first time for us to be going out of the country for our own concert,” reveals SB19 Josh. “We’re excited to meet our international fans. If I may put it: we were caterpillars inside cocoons when we were just starting and now, we've turned into butterflies ready to spread our wings!”

According to SB19 Justin, the five-piece group is very much involved in the creative process behind the upcoming tour, from conceptualization to choreography, from promotion strategy to visual ideation.

He explains, “When SB19 Pablo told us the meaning of WYAT, the song that he and his brother Josue created, I was able to conceptualize WYAT. From there, our team was able to brainstorm on how to improve my initial concept. We made options and showed the other members of SB19, so they could also give their insights. One idea led to another. We started plotting everything: from teasers to the actual music video, every post, down to the last detail.”

SB19 Justin adds, “Josh tweaks a bit of everything, from choreography to the direction of our shoots. He and Pablo has a big role in decision-making. Ken helps with the creative process, from how the dances should look to the set design. Aside from being the main choreographer, Stell also shares ideas on how to promote our comeback. He’s been mentioning if we could play the videos after our recent performances before the tour starts, So we did. Last August 7, 2022 at Mall of Asia Arena was when we first dropped our video teaser in front of thousands of live audience. I highly consider what the other members, management, staff and other people around me think. It really takes a village and is a healthy collaboration.”

Beijing, CHINA- Xiaomi revealed its advanced foldable flagship smartphone, Xiaomi MIX Fold 2, at a new product launch event in Mainland China, alongside the highly-anticipated annual speech of Lei Jun, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Xiaomi.

Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 is a giant technological leap in the ultra-slim foldable smartphone space. Measuring just 5.4mm¹ unfolded, Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 offers a consistent viewing experience on both its inner and outer displays. Additionally, it delivers an authentic Leica imagery experience and outstanding power efficiency with the latest Snapdragon® 8+ Gen 1 mobile platform.

 

In addition to Xiaomi MIX Fold 2, Xiaomi also announced Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro, Redmi K50 Ultra, and a host of ecosystem products.

Self-developed Micro Waterdrop Hinge

 

Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 boasts a revolutionary design. It is one of the thinnest foldable smartphones on the market with a folded body just 11.2mm¹ thin—significantly slimmer than many other foldable devices. Both edges measure just only 5.4mm¹ unfolded, offering a pleasant in-hand feel experience.

 

To achieve these breakthroughs in form factor, Xiaomi focused on refining the hinge – the core component of the foldable smartphone. Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 is equipped with a self-developed Micro Waterdrop Hinge which features a smaller bending radius, thinner screen modules, customized mini rotating hinge, and utilized an integrated solder-free precision process to create a carbon fiber double-wing floating panel. Together, these highly integrated components reduced the number of parts to only 87, enabling a lighter and thinner hinge design than ever before.

 

In addition, both sides of the hinge use space stacking technology, and use large hidden spaces on both sides of the hinge for soft boards, achieving a 20% increase in space utilization and thereby offering the 5.4mm¹ flat design with balanced weight distribution.

Two displays, one exceptional viewing experience

 

Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 sports an inner folding design, with two AMOLED flagship screens of two different sizes on two respective sides. The outer display adopts a 21:9 classic ratio design, allowing for excellent compatibility with most applications and taking into account user experience when handling. The 6.56" display features Samsung E5 material, a resolution of 2520x1080, and supports 120Hz high refresh rate and P3 color gamut, with a brightness of up to 1000nit–giving it an edge over other common displays thanks to its outstanding user experience.

 

On the inside Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 flaunts an 8.02" Samsung Eco² OLED display. It adopts POL-LESS technology, replaces the traditional polarizer with an ultra-thin color filter, and uses a black matrix material to reduce reflection on the screen. Compared to traditional displays, light transmittance has been increased by 33%, with power consumption reduced by 25%. This screen has a resolution of 2160x1914, supports P3 color gamut and LTPO 2.0 1-120Hz AdaptiveSync Pro. The ultra-low anti-AR film allows the display to reduce reflectivity to less than 2%, resulting in more detailed viewing experience and pleasing aesthetics.

 

The two displays offer an exceptionally consistent user experience, both supporting 120Hz refresh rate, professional screen calibration on primary colors, 1,000nit brightness and Dolby Vision. Regardless of which screen is used, the device supports dual ambient light sensing on the front and back, providing for natural and smooth automatic brightness adjustment.

MIUI Fold 13, the new standard for foldable displays

 

Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 runs on the latest MIUI Fold 13 operating system. Developed as a permutation of the classic MIUI interface, it is perfectly adapted to foldable form factor, with screen interaction optimizations offering advancements in user experience.

 

The smart screen desktop design adapts to the foldable display and doubles the viewing area of the smartphone. As well as maintaining visual consistency, it allows for the hundreds of available MIUI widgets to be used without deformation, increasing both aesthetics and usability.

 

Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 system applications are customized for its large screen, and a large number of app interfaces have been redesigned for a better on-screen experience. Calendar, file management, voice recorder, notes, and other applications apply a new column design to take full advantage of the large screen. Third-party application adaptation will be conducted according to solutions available in Android 12L, providing more native support capability for third-party apps.

 

Additional Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 innovations include updates in smart screen interaction. Users can now three finger swipe to split screen. Floating windows can be quickly accessed through the sidebar, which can also be used to exit split screen mode. The design of floating windows and notifications has also been adjusted, and multitasking on a smartphone has never been quite this efficient.

Authentic Leica Imagery, dual-quality approach

 

Xiaomi has set a new imaging standard for smartphone photography, combining Leica’s imagery expertise with Xiaomi’s rich experience in the field of computational photography.

 

To ensure optical excellence, Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 is equipped with a 50-megapixel IMX766 main camera, with 7P lenses all using ALD low-reflection coating. Also featured are a 13MP ultra-wide angle camera and a 8MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom and portrait capabilities.

In addition to the Leica-certified Summicron lens, Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 offers access to two photographic styles: The "Leica Authentic Look" and "Leica Vibrant Look", both offering enhanced creative freedom to the photographer.

GIVE THEM A “SAFE SPACE”

When changing your cat’s food, whether from dry to wet, introducing a new brand or making homemade meals, do it gradually. Mix the new food with the old one to give your cats sufficient time to adjust.

KEEP LITTER BOXES CLEAN

Because of their natural survival instincts carried down from their ancestors, cats can be very particular when it comes to cleanliness. This is the reason why you should keep their litter box clean at all times. If you have more than one cat, secure one litter box per cat so they have plenty of areas to eliminate. The dirtier their litter box is, the more chances of them holding in their feces or urine which can later on cause bladder issues and more.

TAKE REGULAR VISITS TO THE VET

As much as you’d like to take things in your own hands, getting professional help is always the best option. Once you notice that your cat is not eating or there is any change in their normal behavior, take a trip to the vet for proper diagnosis and necessary intervention.

Free medical consultation for foodpanda partner riders

On a mission to continue providing healthcare and safety benefits to its Ka-pandas, foodpanda has partnered with KonsultaMD to provide its fleet of partner riders, e-scooters, bikers, and walkers with free telemedicine consultation services.

Through the partnership, which ran March to June, thousands of Ka-pandas from the country’s leading online quick commerce platform were offered 24/7 free unlimited voice consultations and 4 video consultations with licensed medical doctors through the KonsultaMD app.

“Maayos naman po ang naging experience ko rito sa KonsultaMD sa pag-papakonsulta ng aking nararamdaman sa dibdib. Binigyan po ako agad ng reseta sa online session. Maganda po ang serbisyo, para na rin akong nagpatingin sa ospital, “said Junrey Sahitas, a 22-year-old foodpanda partner rider.

Aside from the video consultations, the healthcare program also included prescriptions, laboratory requests, and other services.

As a father to a 7-month-old baby, Renz Cedrick Sta. This is our way of providing them with an added layer of support and protection as our partner delivery riders, and we are quite happy that they also deemed this helpful for them and for their family members.”

Jacinto also shared that they made the process of availing convenient for their partner riders by sending the unique voucher code to their rider app so they can easily redeem the health plan from the KonsultaMD app.

On top of the free consultation service, foodpanda has also been consistent at rolling out programs that will prioritize the health and safety of its Ka-panda delivery partners. It includes linking them to PhilHealth to access basic healthcare benefits and a free insurance coverage that will protect them while they make deliveries on the road.
