DTI Bagong Pilipinas Christmas Village 2025 : Holiday Shopping with Meaning and Purpose


As the countdown to Christmas begins, the Department of Trade and Industry, through its Bureau of Market Development, Promotion, and OTOP (DTI-BMDPO), invites the public to enjoy holiday shopping with more heart and meaning at the 2025 DTI Bagong Pilipinas Christmas Village. The festive marketplace runs from December 23 to 28 at the Megatrade Halls 1–3 of SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City.

Designed as a relaxed lifestyle destination, the Christmas Village brings together over 200 Filipino micro, small, and medium enterprises from across the regions, offering shoppers a refreshing alternative to crowded malls and rushed gift buying. It is a place where holiday shopping feels intentional, enjoyable, and deeply connected to Filipino creativity.

Visitors can browse through thoughtfully arranged stalls featuring artisanal food, curated gift items, fashion accessories, wellness products, home décor, and holiday essentials. Each product reflects the craftsmanship, stories, and values of Filipino entrepreneurs, many of whom are family-run or community-based enterprises. The Village encourages shoppers to pause, explore, and rediscover the simple joy of choosing gifts with care.
Gifts That Feel Personal, Not Rushed

Today’s Christmas shoppers are increasingly looking for gifts that feel thoughtful and personal. The Christmas Village responds to this shift by offering products that are not mass-produced, but carefully made by Filipino MSMEs from different parts of the country. These items are ideal for gift exchanges, family gatherings, and presents meant to be remembered long after the holidays.

DTI Assistant Secretary Nylah Rizza Bautista, Supervising Head of the DTI Competitiveness and Innovation Group, said the Christmas Village reflects what holiday shopping should truly be about. “Christmas is a time for connection and thoughtful giving. The Christmas Village allows shoppers to choose gifts with intention, while directly supporting Filipino MSMEs and the communities behind them,” she said.

With more than 200 MSMEs participating, shoppers can easily find options that suit different tastes and budgets. Each purchase becomes part of a larger story of support, resilience, and shared celebration.
Tatak Pinoy Finds for the Modern Filipino Home

The Christmas Village also highlights products aligned with the Tatak Pinoy strategy, which promotes Filipino-made goods that combine quality, innovation, and strong cultural identity. Many of the items on display show how local craftsmanship continues to evolve, blending heritage techniques with modern design and contemporary lifestyles.

These Tatak Pinoy finds demonstrate that Filipino creativity is dynamic and forward-looking. They show that local brands can inspire pride and confidence, making them natural choices for meaningful holiday gifting.

DTI's Go Lokal teams up with Okada Manila to Propel Small Businesses


The Department of Trade and Industry-Bureau of Domestic Trade Promotion (DTI-BDTP) achieved another milestone for its Go Lokal! Program through its recent partnership with Tiger Resorts, Leisure and Entertainment, Inc. (TRLEI), the operator of the prestigious Forbes Travel Guide 5-star integrated resort, Okada Manila.

Nestled within the Entertainment City in Parañaque, Okada Manila will exclusively feature Go Lokal! products within their premium grooming, spa, and wellness facilities — The Retreat Spa and The Sole Retreat Foot Spa and Reflexology Center. This collaboration will also extend to Okada Manila’s other business units, like rewards redemption at PLAY, offerings at The Gift Boutique, and in-room amenities for hotel patrons.

“Okada Manila has always been a staunch advocate and supporter of supporting Filipino merchants, products, and services since day one. This mutually beneficial partnership with the DTI-BDTP will help us develop more services and offer more Filipino products to our guests. We vow to continue supporting the government in its initiatives in promoting how world-class Filipino products are,” TRLEI President and Chief Operating Officer Byron Yip said.

Director Marievic M. Bonoan of the DTI-BDTP emphasized the importance of the new partnership, “Our partnership with Okada Manila will help our local businesses reach new market segments and bolster their presence in the mainstream market.”

Go Lokal! a free-market access platform for Philippine micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), continues to expand its reach through collaboration with select retail partners since its launch in December 2016. To date, the DTI has partnered with 23 retail partners, opened 112 Go Lokal outlets nationwide, and assisted 494 MSMEs to become regular suppliers of its retail partners. As of June 2023, the program has generated Php 616.27-million in sales.

Design Center stages bamboo innovation in action at the Hybrid National Trade Fair

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) through the Design Center of the Philippines, the Industry Cluster Enhancement Program, and the Philippine Bamboo Industry Development Council (PBDIC) recently opened the Sustainability Pavilion in this year’s Hybrid National Trade Fair (HNTF) on 16-20 November at Megatrade Halls 1-3 in SM Megamall.

Dubbed Bamboo Matters, the Sustainability Pavilion champions the grass species and spotlights its place in the country’s material culture and design language. Bamboo Matters creative directors Lukas and Sandra Gili Zollinger of OCCO Living drew from Design Center’s material innovation thrust and OCCO Living’s strength in fleshing out the beauty of humble natural materials for the creation of the pavilion. The structure takes inspiration from the tipi, which the Zollingers further described as “vernacular architecture.”

Bamboo Matters aims to nudge sustainable design solutions and livelihood opportunities through bamboo to a broader public and empower them to support local and eco-friendly wares as they commence their holiday shopping. From its common usage in manufacturing, food, biofuels, and musical instruments, bamboo is presented in a different light, specifically in industrial and commercial design applications to permeate the sectors of construction, homeware, fashion, and lifestyle.

The Sustainability Pavilion houses bamboo-made products from 20 participating local brands and businesses, representing 8 regions. Among the featured products is the Bambino by Bambike Revolution Cycles, a balance bike for 2-6-year-olds with a bolt-together design, adjustable seats, and handlebars that can be built with the family as the child grows older. Bambike Revolution Cycles is a recipient of Japan’s Good Design Award, which is a globally recognized accolade for exemplary design.

Another bamboo-based product in the pavilion is the Biscornu Pendant Lamp by Hacienda Crafts Co., Inc., inspired by a small, octagonal, stuffed ornamental pincushion that forms a unique convex polyhedron and hand-crafted by the artisans in rural communities creating livelihood opportunities.

Design Center Executive Director Rhea Matute describes bamboo as “integral” to enrich the ongoing conversation on sustainability, as well as to realize the Philippine Green Economy. “As our new normal continues to take shape, we are seeing this shift in the priorities of consumers, and even of Filipinos at large. There is this heightened conscientiousness when it comes to taking care of our environment. In the market, this translates to them being more particular with what products they buy and services they avail,” she shares.

“With bamboo, we get to harness the abundance that is already in the country and create this ripple effect that ultimately nurtures both people and the planet and ensures that we are designing with purpose and for prosperity,” Matute notes.

As one of the world’s fastest-growing plants and most eco-friendly materials, the country now has 70,000 hectares planted with bamboo, more than half of which are in forestlands. Alongside its renewability, the non-timber plant is also known for its resilience, designed to survive typhoons that are frequent in the country; tensile strength, which earned it its “Green Steel of the 21st Century” tag; and overall environmental impact, as bamboo produces 35% more oxygen compared to an equivalent tree mass.

According to the Philippine Bamboo Industry Roadmap developed by the DTI Regional Operations Group (ROG), the Board of Investments (BOI), and the Philippine Bamboo Industry Development Council (PBIDC), bamboo exports under a healthy economy can capture a significant share of the world market.

National Industry Cluster Coordinator for Bamboo and DTI-R2 Regional Director Leah Pulido Ocampo states that for the country to effectively push for bamboo as a green architectural and building material, there is also a need to boost supply.
