MMDA to Host First-Ever Road to Zero Waste Summit: Closing the Loop Towards a Circular Economy


The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is set to host its Road to Zero Waste Summit, the first and largest event focused on sustainable waste management and the promotion of a circular economy. To be held at the Unilab Bayanihan Center in Pasig City on November 5 and 6, and open to the public with free admission. Coca-Cola Philippines and Bacolod City promote bottle collection and segregation at Masskara Festival


NEGROS OCCIDENTAL  - Coca-Cola Philippines, in partnership with the Bacolod City Environment and Natural Resources Office (BENRO), promoted PET plastic bottle segregation and collection at the 45th Masskara Festival, held from October 11-27, 2024, in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental. Together with Basic Environmental Systems and Technologies, Inc. and festival organizer Yuhum Foundation, the beverage company engaged festival-goers in responsible waste management practices by facilitating the segregation and collection of used PET bottles.


To raise awareness about bottle collection and segregation, Coca-Cola Philippines encouraged festival attendees to drop off their empty PET bottles at the Coca-Cola bottle counter and The Tindahan Extra Mile (TEM) exchange booths located at the Bacolod City Government Center (BCGC). Attendees also exchanged empty bottles to participate in various games and activities.


One of the highlights was the MassKara mask-making contest, where festival-goers cast their votes for the Best Recycled Mask on display using bottle caps. Artisticrew was named the grand winner, while Bacolod City College and the Negrese Artist Circle received consolation prizes for their participation.


Additionally, attendees took part in the "Dunk, Not Junk" shooting hoops game. As they showcased their shooting skills, players had the chance to win a variety of Coca-Cola merchandise and other exciting prizes.


Coca-Cola Beverages Philippines Inc. 's (CCBPI) flagship nationwide collection program, “Tapon to Ipon: Basta Klaro, Panalo!” featured a pop-up collection booth. In its second year at the MassKara Festival, Tapon to Ipon encouraged attendees to drop off used clear PET plastic bottles of any brand, allowing them to win prizes.


Ruby Biro, Senior Franchise Operations Manager of Coca-Cola Philippines, congratulated all the partners and local barangays that contributed to the success of the waste management initiative during the festival's closing program. She emphasized the importance of community engagement and the role of festival-goers in celebrating while making a positive impact on the environment.

A1 Is Bringing Their 2025 Valentine’s Concert Tour to Cebu!

He teases, "Since our last visit to the Philippines, we've been busy working on our long-awaited new album, and production is in the final stages. We have 15 new songs that we're currently putting the finishing touches to, for what is shaping up to be an incredible album, so expect some exciting teasers in the show.”

After a successful TWENTY FIVE tour in 2023, where the band celebrated their 25th anniversary, A1 is ready to bring fresh energy to their upcoming Philippines show. Linya-Linya Land 2024 is Back Around the Block with Diverse Music, Comedy, and Performance Art Acts

Linya-Linya Land returns this 2024 with an exciting line-up of local talent that celebrates diversity across different lines of antics, artistry, and advocacy for the Ka-Linya community and beyond.

The multi-format annual festival features wavemakers in music, comedy, and performance art, meaningfully curated to welcome new and mainstay concertgoers alike. Filipino singer-songwriters, bands, and rappers, Lola Amour, Over October, Unique Salonga, Cheats, Oh! Flamingo, KJah, Mhot, and Apoc represent their corner of the music scene in the event.

Improvisational theater performers and stand-up comedians are also set to take the stage, comprising SPIT Manila; GB Labrador, James Caraan, Nonong Ballinan, Ryan Rems, and Muman Reyes of The KoolPals, and Comedy Manila’s Victor Anastacio and Issa Villaverde.

An aspect that makes this year’s return extra special is introducing drag performance art to its loyal audience. Ru Paul’s Drag Race Philippines Season 3 superstar, Tita Baby, joins the roster bringing the world of drag and diversity to Linya-Linya Land.

At the heart of this event is Linya-Linya’s advocacy of supporting homegrown artists and performers while amplifying the local art and creative industry's voice—where it has put down its roots for nearly 10 years. The event aims to create a space where diversity in talent and passion for social change can thrive, alongside non-profit organizations and partner communities, such as the Angat Buhay Foundation, AHA! Learning Center, The Learning Lab, and PANTAY.
