DITO Telecommunity Unveiled DITO Home WOWFi, Powering The Future of Digital Homes


DITO Telecommunity recently launched its newest DITO Home WOWFi, the first 5G RedCap WiFi in the world for home use powered by DITO's true 5G network. Unveiling an exciting new product at the Next-Gen Home Connectivity Media Conference on October 18, the fastest-growing telco in the country, brings an affordable 5G connectivity straight to Filipino households.

According to Ms. Evelyn Jimenez, DITO Chief Revenue Officer for Consumer Business, this latest home broadband offering aims to provide Filipino households the home internet they need as they usher their way in this era of smart homes and digital innovations.

5G RedCap is a new 5G standard and critical evolution of 5G originally called NR Light, an essential part of lightweight 5G offering the right balance of 5G capabilities such as low latency, high peak data rate, and maximum capacity.

DITO officially launched its latest product offering during its recent Next-Gen Home Connectivity Media Conference on October 18. DITO gathered several technology experts to share their insights and perspectives about RedCap technology and its contribution to Filipino households' digital transformations.

Guest speaker Abe Olandres, Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Yugatech, shared that RedCap is a simplified and cost-effective 5G connection where users can enjoy the advantages of 5G without the need for high bandwidth He also explained that RedCap only operates on 5G Standalone networks, which can deliver the true 5G experience to Filipino households.

DITO Telecommunity hits 7M subscribers

Rolls-Out DITO Auto Pay and DITO Advance Pay with DITO Level-Up Packs for one year anniversary

“We are pleased to inform our countrymen that DITO has hit another milestone in our journey. As of March 14, close to a week after our first anniversary, we have hit 7-million active subscribers. In a related development, the country’s newest telco has rolled out next-gen features, DITO Auto Pay and DITO Advance Pay to level-up the subscriber experience, marking DITO’s first year of operations in the Philippines.

The country’s third major player in the telecommunications industry, DITO Telecommunity Corporation, recently announced that they are fast approaching the one-million subscriber mark just a few weeks after their Metro Manila entry.


In a virtual press briefing announcing DITO Independence Day week activities, Atty. Adel Tamano, DITO Telecommunity Corporation Chief Administrative Officer shared the news, “When we introduced DITO last May 17 in NCR and in other locations, we were just at the half-million subscriber mark, and in just three weeks, we find ourselves about to hit a million subscribers.”

On Coverage Expansion

In line with the company's celebration of the country's 123rd Independence Day, DITO is now servicing 123 cities and municipalities; adding 23 more from its current pool of 100 areas.

In the issue of connectivity in currently covered areas, the Chief Technology Officer of DITO said, “We ask our subscribers to please not expect 100% coverage yet. There are of course isolated areas in the covered cities and municipalities that may experience intermittent service as we ramp up optimization of our network.”

He added that DITO is in more than 37-percent population coverage now and are fast approaching 2nd year population coverage commitments of 51-percent.

On the issue of areas not covered by DITO, the DITO CTO had this to say, “We do ask for the public’s understanding. There may be instances where consumers may already detect DITO especially in areas wherein we have not formally announced the availability of service, let me reiterate that in these unserved areas, there are some components that we are readying to ensure the customer experience is excellent.”

DITO Telecommunity turns over mobile phone and free service to first Davao City frontliners as part of the commercial launch CSR program

DITO Telecommunity, the third major player in the telecommunications industry, announced during their virtual press conference last March 8 that its first act as a commercially launched telecom will be to provide free DITO service to 3,000 frontliners from the Visayas and Mindanao, in recognition of their efforts in building the nation amidst the global pandemic. DITO has begun the rollout of this initiative with 300 frontliners from Davao City.

Atty. Adel Tamano, the Chief Administrative Officer of DITO, said, “We are proud to announce that the first two front liners, a nurse and a public school teacher in Davao City, have already received their free DITO-compatible mobile phones as well as free DITO mobile and internet service.”

On March 19, 2021, the DITO CSR and Trade Marketing team visited Miss Daisylen Apostol, a nurse’s aide assigned to care for COVID-19 patients at the Southern Philippines Medical Center in Davao City, and Miss Mae Ann Jean Justol, Grade 1 teacher at the Alfredo A. Aledia Elementary School in Davao City.

“I am truly honored to be chosen as one of the first recipients of the DITO project for front liners. Malaking tulong ito sa akin para mabilis akong makasagot sa mga calls at messages ng mga pasyente ko. I’m always looking for ways that I can be of better service to the patients placed under my care, lalo na sila ay COVID-19 patients,” said Nurse Daisylen.

She added that, as a nurse’s aide, she plans to undergo further training, especially online, to become a full-fledged nurse in the future.

“When the pandemic struck, it became more important for me to have strong and reliable na internet connection so I can do online studies and research and to attend our regular meetings,” ended Nurse Daisylen.
