Iconic Children’s Show “Sesame Street” To Air On Knowledge Channel

More sunny days are ahead as “Sesame Street,” the longest-running American children’s show, begins airing on Knowledge Channel this month.
The home to well-loved characters such as Big Bird, Bert, Elmo, Cookie Monster, Ernie, Grover, Oscar the Grouch, has taught children across the world how to become smarter, stronger, and kinder with the life lessons for over 40 years.
A lot of Filipinos grew up watching ‘Sesame Street’ and they have learned valuable lessons from the show. This time around, Knowledge Channel would like to extend that enriching childhood experience brought by ‘Sesame Street’ to the new generation of Filipino kids by airing it in crystal clear digital TV,” Danie Sedilla, Knowledge Channel channel head said.
The show introduces a new character, Armando, a Puerto Rican who lives on the street, to show that it is still inclusive of varied cultures, as well as a new segment called “Cookie’s Crumbly Pictures,” which shows Cookie Monster in different situations as he learns how to control his emotions.

Adding excitement to learning on “Sesame Street” are the visits form Hollywood artists such as Charlize Theron, Usher, Anna Kendrick, Forrest Whittaker, and Pentatonix.
Meanwhile, Kapamilya stars have joined forces with some of the “Sesame Street” characters to excite kids with the airing of “Sesame Street” in the Philippines, marking a milestone for Filipino kids of all ages.
Jolina Magdangal, Darren Espanto, Ylona Garcia, Bailey May, Nash Aguas, Alexa Ilacad, Krissha Viaje, Kyle Echarri, and Yeng Constantino have teamed up to add a Pinoy touch to iconic Sesame Street opening song “Can You Tell Me How to get to Sesame Street?.”
Elmo, one of the show’s most loved characters recently flew into the country for a fun collaboration with the kids of “Team YeY,” the only original TV series for kids airing on YeY, the premium entertainment channel for kids on ABS-CBN TVplus.

We are thrilled to be reaching a new generation of children in the Philippines. From the very beginning, Sesame Street has always helped kids grow smarter, stronger, and kinder. With each new season, we continue to develop new content based on the latest research. Our mission is to educate and entertain, and to cover all the topics that families care about in the Philippines and around the world,” said Will De Pippo, assistant director for International Licensing at Sesame Street.

How ABS-CBN TVplus Strengthens Kapamilya Bonding

ABS-CBN TVplus is not just for enjoying exclusive channels like CineMo and Yey, but is also for family bonding while watching movies on KBO (Kapamilya Box Office).
This experience is available only to the 3.3 million owners of the ‘mahiwagang black box.’ This is just another innovation that the country’s pioneering digital terrestrial television brings to Filipino families today.
“We’re giving our Kapamilyas a chance to strengthen family bonding over weekends as they watch and enjoy movies together on the Kapamilya Box Office (KBO). It includes blockbusters, new releases from Star Cinema, MYX, and catch up of your favorite Kapamilya teleserye, ABS-CBN head for digital terrestrial television Chinky Alcedo said.
“Additionally, KBO also gives them access to calls, texts, and mobile data for internet through ABS-CBN mobile, so the family can stay connected,” She added.

When families register to KBO 30, they can enjoy several movies, call, text, and surf the internet via ABS-CBNmobile. If they register to Super KBO 99, they get premium movies that are fresh from the cinemas that are bundled with ABS-CBNmobile’s trinet and mobile data.
“Kapamilya moms want the best value for their families, so the opportunity to enjoy movies at home, plus access to ABS-CBNmobile services offers a complete bonding experience,” Chinky explained.
Since KBO’s launch in 2016, families that have ABS-TVplus have had more enriching times at home.
Among those who have registered to KBO is 23-year-old Pamela Estupigan, a grade school teacher who lives in Manila. Pamela, her mom, and her sisters have enjoyed watching movies at home via ABS-CBN TVplus’ KBO like “Four Sisters and a Wedding” and John Lloyd-Bea movies, among others.
“I watch KBO with my whole family. It is always a good bonding experience for us because we get to spend more quality time together at home,” said Pamela.
Pamela also looks forward to watching latest Star Cinema movies on KBO with her family and shares that the service also encourages her to avoid patronizing pirated content.
This year, some of the movies that have premiered on Philippine television via KBO include Charo Santos’ “Ang Babaeng Humayo,” Kathniel’s “Can’t Help Falling In Love,” Lizquen’s “My Ex and Whys,” Sandara Park’s “One Step,” and Erik Matti’s “Seklusyon,” among others.
Meanwhile, the movies that will be featured on KBO this September are “The Third Party,” “This Guy’s in Love with You Mare,” “Pangil sa Tubig,” “The Strangers,” and “The Mommy Returns”(Sept 9-10); “Dear Other Self,” “Working Beks,” “Tumbok,” “24/7 In Love,” and “Walang Forever”(September 16-17); “Kita Kita,” “Amorosa,” “In The Name of Love,” “Girlfriend for Hire,” and “Third Eye” (Sept. 23-24); and “Camp Sawi,” “In My Life,” “Dilim,” “Dukot,” and Rematado” (Sept. 30-Oct. 1).
ABS-CBN is the first media and entertainment company in the Philippines to make the historic switch from analog to digital terrestrial television in 2015 to transform the TV viewing experience of Filipinos. Using digital signal transmission, ABS-CBN TVplus gives TV viewers dramatically crisp picture and sound. Aside from exclusive channels and KBO, TVPlus can also capture and broadcast channels that transmit in digital and is offered for a one-time payment fee.

6 Ways you can bond with your kids as this school year opens , get fun with “Team YeY” !

School year started opens now,  engage your kids in quality time by taking inspiration from activities you can learn together on YeY channel’s “Team YeY,” the only local all-kids variety show where kids can learn something new every day.

Check out these fun ideas.

1. Prepare baon together.

Teach your kids the basics of food preparation by involving them in preparing simple snacks like sandwiches, veggie sticks, or simple ulam-and-rice combos. Make it extra fun by coming up with Bento meals, where rice and ulam can be done in various shapes. Try making Monster Burgers, as shown on Snaks Naman of Team YeY.

2. Learn Philippine literature together.

Turn TV bonding into a fun learning experience by tuning in to Team YeY’s StorYeY to revisit classic Philippine literature. Stand by to explain any questions they might have, and turn it into an educational viewing habit.

3. Do art projects together.

Having quality time with kids doesn’t have to involve lots of planning and money as you can help with their homework and art projects every now and then. Together, you can get crafty and creative. Tune in to Team YeY’s Artstig for easy ideas.

4. Beat the rainy day blues with party games at home.

To make rainy days festive, improvise by organizing DIY party games at home with the kids. Invite cousins and classmates over on a weekend and engage them in team games as seen on Team YeY’s Sunday Funday and Game Play.

5. Take a break from work stress and jam.

Take a short break by jamming with your kids while watching Team YeY’s Soundcheck. This will also give you an opportunity to see and experience what your kids are into these days. Try teaching them your favorite songs, too—they’ll enjoy learning “old” songs from you too!

6. Get some exercise by dancing.

Since it’s hard to find time to exercise these days, improvise! Bust a move with the kids as they dance along to Team YeY’s Galaw Go. You don’t need a Zumba class—just dance with the kids and have some laughs as you attempt to follow the dance steps on TV.

Don’t let the start of the school year stop you from spending quality time with your kids. Set aside a little time each day to play and learn with them. Tune in to Team YeY every day of the week at 8:30 am and 2:30 pm. Team YeY airs on YeY channel exclusively on TVplus, with catch up episodes on iWant TV.

“Team YeY” brings the fun and learning with its daily themed segments. Galaw Go!, is led by AJ Urquia and Nhikzy Calma; Snaks Naman by Mitch Naco and Sophie Reola; Artstig by Jana Agoncillo and Althea Guanzon; Game Play by Sam Shoaf and JM Canlas, StorYey by Raven Cajuguiran and Yesha Camile; Sound Check by Luke Alford and Noel Comia Jr.; and Sunday Funday with all the hosts.

YeY is a free and exclusive channel on digital TV via ABS-CBN TVPlus, which you can get for a one-time payment of P1499. ABS-CBN TVplus signal coverage is available in Metro Cebu, Cagayan De Oro, Iloilo, Bacolod, Davao, Metro Manila, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan, Rizal, Laguna, Pampanga, Tarlac, Benguet, and Cavite.
