PLDT Enterprise Boosts Transport & Logistics with Smarter, Stronger Connectivity Solutions

PLDT Enterprise is accelerating digital progress in the country’s transport and logistics sectors by delivering stronger, smarter wireless connectivity through Wireless Indoor Coverage.

Given the Philippines’ archipelagic geography and rugged terrain, many areas stand to benefit more from wireless connectivity solutions than from traditional wired infrastructure, making solutions like Wireless Indoor Coverage especially relevant in supporting the evolving needs of these industries.

“Reliable wireless coverage plays a critical role in enhancing communication across transport and logistics operations, from real-time SMS updates to clear voice calls and seamless data access. Whether inside warehouses, distribution hubs, or transit terminals, strong connectivity ensures accurate coordination, minimizes failed deliveries, and keeps customers informed every step of the way. This ultimately drives greater operational efficiency and boosts consumer satisfaction,” said John Gonzales, First Vice President and Head of Enterprise Consulting Services and Technology Management at PLDT Enterprise.

A Commitment to Transport and Logistics Innovation

PLDT Enterprise’s Wireless Indoor Coverage is about enabling transformation. By integrating wireless connectivity within vehicles and transit hubs, the solution supports the industry through:

  • Reliable connectivity on the move, enabling uninterrupted access to safety systems and communications as vehicles travel through different environments
  • Consistent, mobile-ready coverage that supports real-time safety features and critical system updates wherever the journey leads
  • Remote network management for vehicle fleets, ensuring timely security and configuration updates
  • Extended coverage into previously underserved zones, enabling consistent wireless connectivity in enclosed spaces such as bus depots, terminals, and vehicles where signal traditionally weakens

With wired internet still a challenge in some areas of the country, wireless broadband, particularly 5G, emerges as a powerful alternative in the meantime, offering faster speeds, lower latency, and wider reach to connect underserved areas and enable next-generation technologies.

Given this, Wireless Indoor Coverage helps solve long-standing industry challenges in transport operations—such as ensuring timely SMS alerts (including OTPs), enabling reliable voice calls during emergencies, and maintaining strong mobile data signals for seamless access to navigation apps, dispatch systems, and cloud-based tools.

All these innovations and their respective benefits align with the broader nationwide effort to overcome digital barriers in infrastructure, as highlighted in recent reports on wireless broadband advancements in the Philippines.

Enabling Safety, Efficiency, and Growth for Long Routes and Regional Mobility

PLDT Enterprise’s wireless solutions are designed to keep fleets connected even as they traverse remote areas and regional boundaries. Whether managing cargo transfers between provinces or maintaining communication on extended delivery routes, the solution supports stable, secure wireless access that scales with the mobility needs of the country.

This expanded reach reinforces PLDT Enterprise’s commitment to being the trusted network partner for nationwide transport transformation.

Moreover, by offering transport operators the ability to manage their wireless networks remotely via cloud platforms, the solution not only enhances operational continuity but also boosts cybersecurity and resiliency—key pillars in today’s security-sensitive landscape.

Driving Collaboration for Future Innovations

PLDT Enterprise envisions this initiative as a call to action for transportation companies, logistics operators, and public sector stakeholders to come together and reimagine how businesses move.

“We invite industry players to collaborate with us in crafting wireless solutions that are tailor-fit for their specific environments and use cases. Connectivity should move with you—and with PLDT Enterprise,” Gonzales added.

The Communications Olympiad Announces Top 15 Schools Heading to The Grand Championship

The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Philippines, the country chapter of the world’s leading network of communication professionals, in partnership with COMCO School of Communications, the communication training and professional development arm of global award-winning communications group COMCO Mundo League of Enterprises proudly announces the Top 15 schools advancing to The Grand Championship of The Communications Olympiad.

The Communications Olympiad is a premier communications training and competition program for collegiate students designed to empower the next generation of communicators by providing transformative knowledge and practical, real-world applications. Through a rigorous and immersive learning journey, participants sharpened their skills as emerging communications professionals.

The top 15 teams advancing to the Grand Championship, in alphabetical order, are Ateneo de Manila University, Baliuag University, De La Salle University – Dasmariñas, De La Salle University – Manila, Far Eastern University, Laguna University, Mapúa University – Makati,  Mindoro State University, National University – Dasmariñas, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, Tarlac State University, University of Antique, University of the Cordilleras, University of the Philippines – Visayas, University of Saint Anthony – Iriga City, Camarines Sur.

Before the competition, the qualifying teams underwent an intense training camp series with sessions on Best Practices in Communications, The Role of Communications in Environment Conservation, and Innovations in Communications. The Best Practices in Communications kicked off with insights on fundamentals, breaking down the Elements of Strategic Communications Plan, Writing 101 for Business Communications, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Communication. This was followed by the session on The Role of Communications in Environment Conservation which opened a portal to communicating change with topics including Climate Change and Environmental Concerns, Sustainability Practices Among Businesses, and Environmental Communication and Education.

The Training Camp closed strong for Days 3 and 4 which dove into Innovations in Communications on Digital and Social Media, Responsible Use of AI, the IABC Rubrics, and Introduction to New PR and Smart Social, equipping the students for a more advanced and professional practice to aid them in the Olympiad-level competition.

After completing the training, teams were given just over 24 hours to develop a 10-slide communications plan based on a brief from One Meralco Foundation about their “Energy for Development” programs. The brief provided the teams with an opportunity to learn more about rural development and community empowerment through renewable electrification projects with the Olympians tasked to create an integrated communications plan that is impact driven, and clearly relays the call for action.

They then presented their proposals virtually, which were reviewed by a distinguished panel of communications industry leaders. This intensive challenge tested their creativity, strategic thinking, and presentation skills, ultimately determining the Top 15 teams advancing to the grand finals.

The Grand Championship

The Communications Olympiad is set to conclude through the on-ground Grand Championship happening on June 27, 2025, at the Meralco Center in Pasig City, where the Top 15 will vie for the category medals, highlighting their mastery of the different fields in communication. In the final run, only the Top 3 teams that garnered the most medals will grace the center stage for one last shot to be called the first-ever Grand Champion of The Communications Olympiad.

"Congratulations to our Top 15! Being named the first-ever Grand Championship of The Communications Olympiad is not just a showcase of skill and creativity but a reminder that the youth can make a difference in addressing the pressing concerns of society today.  Participating in The Communications Olympiad was not an easy task but I know that they will agree with me that it was a rewarding experience. While not all proceeded  to the Grand Finals, having made it  into program as well as undergoing The Communications Olympiad Training Camp can be considered already as a big win for the students and the schools,” shared Mr. Ferdinand L. Bondoy, Corporate Secretary and Lead for Youth and Education of IABC Philippines, and the Interregional President & Group Chief Executive / Head of Global and Strategic Communications / Partner & Co-Founder of COMCO Mundo League of Enterprises.

“It is indeed my pleasure to witness one of the rising communications initiatives that will not only let universities and colleges compete but also to pool  talented minds to birth new innovations. In this case, environmental sustainability being our central topic is not just a theme but a commentary on how we need to act on these issues and provide viable solutions, starting with us in the communications field. With like-minded communication professionals, we hope the Olympians find their meaning and spot in the world to do good,” shared Ms. Belle Tiongco, President of IABC Philippines and Vice President & Co-Founder of Football for Humanity.

The Communications Olympiad is organized by IABC Philippines and the COMCO School of Communications, together with COMCO Mundo League of Enterprises and One Meralco Foundation as platinum sponsors; Globe Telecom Inc., Goodness Graze, Midea, Monde Nissin, and TP in the Philippines as gold sponors; Jollibee Foods Corp. and Personal Collection Direct Selling Inc. as silver sponsors; and Sony Philippines, Sustainability PH, and Uratex Monobloc as bronze sponsors. Pluxee is here, your new Global partner in employee benefits and engagement

Sodexo Benefits and Rewards Services Philippines is now Pluxee, as in a strategic move to strengthen its commitment to elevating the overall experience of its clients, partner merchants, and consumers.

The spin-off from the Sodexo Group is a global initiative announced last year to give its gifting business a digital-first brand that reflects its ambition to offer personalized, sustainable solutions to the evolving market.

In the Philippines, Pluxee builds upon the strong foundation laid by Sodexo Philippines, a joint venture with SM Investment Corporation.

Launched in 2003, Pluxee became the pioneer and biggest issuer of gift certificates in the country. Over the years, it introduced industry firsts such as an e-commerce platform to make GCs instantly accessible to businesses and consumers, SMS and email based GCs, and a rewards app enabling partial redemption of GCs and acceptance in online stores. As a proud partner of SM, the country's retail giant, Pluxee also powers the SM Gift Pass and their latest digital rewards solution, the SM Gift Pass Choice. Pluxee ramped up its partnership with the country’s most preferred brands and now boasts of over 17,000 accredited merchants.

Pluxee Gift

A trusted brand in navigating the landscape of the 21st-century workplace, Pluxee addresses the unique needs of each client. At the forefront of Pluxee products is the Pluxee Philippines app, where clients can send Pluxee Gift credits to their recipients via web portal. The credits are partially redeemable in over 10,000 merchants and can also be used in app-exclusive brands such as Angkas, Grab, Klook, Lazada, Shopee, and more. Pluxee Gift also comes as codes that can be distributed via SMS or email. This is API-enabled and can seamlessly integrate with clients’ systems to fully automate incentive programs. Codes can also be customized and accepted at specific brands or for specific products to cater to clients’ preferences.

Pluxee introduces another innovation with the Pluxee Gift card, a physical card that comes with digitally powered codes and may be used instantly in stores. These codes can be converted to Pluxee Gift credits in the Pluxee Philippines app to enable partial redemption and access to app-exclusive brands.

"Being one of the leading global partners in employee benefits and engagement, we’re dedicated to unlocking opportunities to enhance people’s lives at work and beyond,” says Mert Cetin, CEO of Pluxee Philippines.

“We cover areas such as food, recreational activities, gifts, wellness, mobility, and more. We harness the power of digital to help our Clients give meaningful, sustainable rewards that foster a motivated and satisfied workforce. We make it easy for Consumers to use their rewards and maximize their choice with the continued expansion of our merchant network. We support our Merchants by accelerating traffic and reach so they can thrive in a competitive market,” he adds.

Live Joyful with Pluxee

In line with the launch of Pluxee in the Philippines, the brand kicks off its “Live Joyful” digital campaign, which highlights the many ways that Pluxee Gifts enable memorable experiences.
“A Pluxee Gift is more than just a reward or benefit. It’s a personal, immersive experience from making the most of what you have and enjoying what really matters to you. The campaign is an ode to the vibrant and optimistic spirit of Filipinos who never run out of ways to create and spread happiness,” says Sharon K. Velasco, Marketing Director of Pluxee Philippines.
Pluxee invites clients, partners, and the public to explore its products and services, and the countless joyful moments that these can bring. Watch out for more exciting developments in store. One Year and Counting: Lionsgate Play & PLDT Home Celebrate a Successful Partnership in the Philippines

Lionsgate Play (LGP) and the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) have just marked a significant milestone as they celebrate the first anniversary of their successful partnership. Over the past year, this collaboration has seen the video-on-demand (VOD) platform build strong brand awareness and generate massive trial rates -- the highest ever in PLDT history.

June 2022, wasn't the easiest time to launch a VOD service. It was right after the pandemic, and many Filipinos had already gotten accustomed to other VOD services. Yet LGP stepped up to the challenge, differentiating itself quickly from the competition with its edgy, irreverent, and high-octane titles.

Evert Chris Miranda - PLDT Home Vice President & Digital Services Head
of Product & Marketing

#PlayMoreBrowseLess

Though Lionsgate Studios owns a vast library of over 17,000 titles, they don't overwhelm the audience with an excessive amount of releases. Instead, LGP curates a selection of content to captivate the audience, enabling their audience to #PlayMoreBrowseLess. To do so, LGP draws on the most exciting current releases with exclusive rights to premiere TV shows from LGP’s US parent network STARZ, as well as smash hits from the premium Lionsgate library. From time to time, LGP also secures Academy Award®-winning films from other studios.

“Since the grand launch of the partnership in June 2022, PLDT Home's collaboration with Lionsgate Play has introduced a fresh wave of entertainment to its valued Filipino customers,” says Evert Miranda, PLDT Home Vice President and Digital Services Head of Product & Marketing (Beyond Access). “The partnership allowed customers to immerse themselves in a world of unlimited entertainment courtesy of Lionsgate Play’s wide array of international and award-winning content.”

Over the past year, the LGP audience gravitated towards LGP's box-office titles, which include franchises like John Wick, Hunger Games, Twilight, and Saw. Bruce Willis' new, never-before-seen movies like APEX and Corrective Measures were popular watches, as were unique, intriguing series like Spartacus, Power, Gaslit  and The Serpent Queen.

LGP subscribers can continue to look forward to exclusive titles like the high-adrenaline, action-packed series like Heels, Gangs of London, Kandahar, and Gray; and new Lionsgate films like One Ranger and Fear the Night. LGP will also be exclusively live-streaming The Emmy Awards for the second year in a row, with seven of its titles receiving nominations.

The secret to LGP's success

LGP's partnership with PLDT was key to their success. PLDT took the bold step to give their subscribers 12 months of access to LGP. And because PLDT is lauded for being the country's fastest fixed internet by Ookla, PLDT subscribers were able to enjoy LGP titles with fast, reliable internet.

Amit Dhanuka, Lionsgate Play Executive Vice President

"We have been the torchbearers in understanding that partnerships are essential in this market to grow subscribers," says Amit Dhanuka, LGP Executive Vice President. "The growth is skewed towards the partnerships because they open up a larger funnel than what we would be able to get ourselves. These partnerships took time to evolve. So, we had a lot of customers come onto the platform earlier and they have stayed. Now, the partnerships are driving subscriber growth."

"As we celebrate the anniversary of this successful partnership, we eagerly anticipate Lionsgate Play's commitment to enriching the platform with an expanded selection of content," adds Miranda. "With the introduction of paid subscriptions, we hope to witness the arrival of highly anticipated releases such as John Wick 4 and other upcoming masterpieces from Lionsgate and Starz. Our ultimate goal is to provide Filipino homes with the best of the best in entertainment.”

Huawei debuts digital solutions at MWC2022 to empower APAC green development

[Barcelona, Spain, March 1, 2022] At the MWC2022 in Barcelona, Huawei releases their GUIDE business blueprint and innovative solutions focusing on digitalization and carbon neutrality for the future of ICT. The global leading provider of ICT infrastructure and smart devices vows at the online media roundtable on Monday to empower the green and sustainable future of digital economy in the Asia Pacific region.

Existing theories and architectures are unable to support explosive growth in digital demand.

Forecasts show that over 50% of global GDP will be digitalized in 2022. As the global digital economy develops rapidly, the demand for digital products and services has exceeded expectations. Huawei's Rotating Chairman Guo Ping explained that as Shannon's theorem and the von Neumann architecture continue hitting severe bottlenecks, the industry must explore new theories and architectures to reshape the technological paradigm to achieve digital sustainability.

Huawei has been upholding the concept of "make technology and nature live together", and has continued to invest in reducing carbon emissions, increasing the use of renewable energy, promoting circular economy, and guarding nature with technology. Huawei is committed to integrating digital technology and power electronics to promote the energy revolution, accelerate the digitization of energy, enable industrial upgrading in thousands of industries, and become an enabler of carbon emission reduction.

By creating synergies between IT and CT, cloud and edge, and cloud and networks, Huawei hopes to help operators go digital and intelligent and achieve new revenue growth. In Asia Pacific, for example, Huawei's OneStorage solution has helped one operator cut TCO by 30%.

Carbon reduction impacts the long-term vitality of the digital economy.

On carbon neutrality, Guo said, "Connectivity density and computing power determine the strength of the digital economy, but it should also maintain long-term vitality. So, we need to consider a new dimension, carbon reduction."

Huawei currently adheres to a "More Bits, Less Watts" strategy in this area. In addition to improving its fundamental digital capabilities, Huawei has committed to making its products 2.7 times more energy efficient by making breakthroughs in areas like theories, materials, and algorithms. Huawei's third-generation Massive MIMO products fully utilize the multi-antenna technology to improve energy efficiency by 30% compared with peer products.

As part of its efforts to create a greener and more sustainable digital world, Huawei will increase investment in sustainable green solutions, leveraging clean power generation, electric transportation, and smart energy storage, to support the Asia Pacific region’s goals of cutting carbon emissions, promoting renewable energy, and contributing to a circular economy, according to Jay Chen, Vice President of Huawei Asia Pacific. Through advances like these, the ICT industry is able to help other industries reduce their own carbon footprints.

According to AlphaBeta, a Singapore-based strategic economic consultancy that works with governments, businesses, investors, and other institutions, their report shows that a technology-driven economy could assist in mitigating the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and recovering the country’s economic losses.

The report states that if fully leveraged by 2030, the country can foster a digital economy that can raise PHP 5 trillion or 101 million US dollars in economic value by 2030. This is equivalent to 27% of the country’s GDP in 2020 alone.

“In Asia Pacific, for Asia Pacific’ is our commitment. At Huawei, we are working closely with carriers and partners from around the world to explore solutions that help make life better, businesses smarter, and society more inclusive. We'd also love to share how our ICT technology is helping make the world a greener, more sustainable place. Together, we can light up the future," said Jay Chen.

To support the digital ecosystem in Asia Pacific, Huawei in 2021 has announced that it will invest $50 million to develop 500,000 digital talents for Asia Pacific in the next 5 years, and invest USD 100 million over three years to cultivate the startup ecosystem in the region, including in the Philippines.

MWC22 Barcelona runs from February 28 to March 3 in Barcelona, Spain. Huawei showcases its products and solutions at stand 1H50 in Fira Gran Via Hall 1. Together with global operators, industry professionals, and opinion leaders, we dive into topics such as industry trends, GUIDE to the Future, and green development to envision the future of digital networks. DITO Telecommunity connecting Filipinos after Typhoon Odette onslaught in beleaguered localities

Nothing is more crucial than staying connected in times of calamity and DITO Telecommunity has been a lifebelt for many Filipinos who have been massively affected by the recent onslaught of typhoon Odette in the country.

Dr. Jobe Buling-Viernes, the coordinator of San Beda University-Graduate School of Business, joins relief operations to distribute 500 DITO SIM cards to local members of the Philippine National Police (PNP), students, drivers, and municipal employees in Valencia, Negros Oriental. Photos were taken by: Dr. Jobe Buling-Viernes

While most mobile services were temporarily rendered unserviceable by the catastrophe, the newly laid out DITO cell towers stood resilient in the beleaguered provinces, except for only six of DITO microsites that were affected.

In particular, residents of Negros Oriental were able to rely on the continuous and strong connection provided by DITO.

One resident from Valencia, Negros Oriental who participated in the relief operations, Dr. Jobe Buling-Viernes, coordinator of the San Beda University - Graduate School of Business, started distributing 500 DITO SIM cards to local members of the Philippine National Police, students, drivers and municipal employees.

Using #DitoNaKamisaDITO, #DITONaKami, #DitoTayoSaDITO on social media, recipients expressed their appreciation to the telco for its strong internet speed and reliable connectivity while being economical for as low as PhP39 for 3GB, PhP99 for 10GB, and PhP199 for 25GB.

“What struck me the most is the idea of connecting people and lives during disasters – I’ve really proven that DITO was there,” shared Dr. Viernes.

As government and non-government relief and recovery work began in earnest in the Visayas, DITO also provided 1000 SIM cards to the Armed Forces of the Philippines through the AFP Visayas Command and another 250 to the regional Disaster Risk Reduction Management offices for the use of the responders.

This effort is in collaboration with Udenna Foundation's UCare, UShare initiative, a program that aims to feed, protect, and connect the community in the time of COVID, and DITO CME, a majority shareholder of DITO Telecommunity that provides telecommunications, multimedia, and IT services in the country.

“Spearheading the Students’ PR Con and Grand Prix Hack Sprint edition of PRSP and the Student Quill Awards of IABC Philippines is close to my heart as my career and craft started through the industry’s student programs. It is an honor and an opportunity for me to give back to the industry by preparing the next generation of communications and public relations professionals and leaders, just like how I was honed in the field. It has come full circle and I think this is the reason why I was given this position, to complete the narrative that the seed sowed yesterday are the fruits harvested today,” said Mr. Bondoy.

“It is also an honor and a responsibility to represent the country and work for the industry in a global scale through the landmark projects and programs organized by PRCA and CIPR. And we will continue to contribute, be heard and be part of this global community of PR experts and leaders to further grow the discipline across the globe and impact social change.”

In the same spirit of paying it forward, Mr. Bondoy together with COMCO Southeast Asia’s pool of experts, built the Camp COMCO Mentorship Program, an intensive and comprehensive talent incubation initiative, industry linkage course and apprenticeship program designed to transform communication, marketing and multimedia arts students and fresh graduates into revolutionary practitioners of the industry. Now on its 16th Cycle, Camp COMCO has been recognized for producing high-caliber young communications practitioners since 2016. He is also fondly called as “Coach” by those whom he took under his wing and mentored extensively in the practice.

In 2016, Mr. Bondoy co-founded COMCO Southeast Asia, a global award-winning integrated communications agency headquartered in the Philippines with affiliate network presence in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia, which champions the practice of the emerging global disciplines of New PR and Smart Social. In just 5 years, the trailblazing communications agency has done groundbreaking work for more than 70 local, regional and international brands including reputable development and humanitarian organizations. Under his leadership, COMCO SEA has been awarded twice as Agency of the Year 2nd Runner-up at the IABC Quill Awards, Best PR Agency - Silver Award at the ASEAN PR Excellence Awards and Finalist for Boutique PR Consultancy of the Year in Asia at Campaign Asia Pacific’s PR Awards Asia, and 85 metals from various local and international award-giving bodies.

COMCO Southeast Asia culminated its Blazing Sapphire 5th anniversary celebration with the launch of COMCO Middle East & Africa and the unveiling of its 10-year growth masterplan which includes the formation of COMCO AOX League of Enterprises, the umbrella organization for the Agency’s existing and upcoming ventures, initiatives and advocacies.

COMCO Southeast Asia culminates 5th anniversary celebration with the launch of COMCO Middle East & Africa and unveiling of its 10-year masterplan

COMCO Southeast Asia (SEA) culminated its Blazing Sapphire 5th Anniversary celebration with a bang as it launched COMCO Middle East & Africa (MEA) and unveiled its 10-year master plan that gave an overview of the continued growth and evolution of the trailblazing and award-winning communications agency.

To mark its 5th year in the business, COMCO SEA held a year-long 5-part celebration. Kicking things off was the virtual town hall and digital unveiling of COMCO SEA’s brand evolution, while the summer marked the inauguration of the Camp COMCO Alumni Society “Unity Games”, a celebration of the company’s strong alumni culture where graduates of the company’s mentorship program were reunited. Meanwhile, bloggers and content creators across the country sharpened their storytelling skills anew as COMCO SEA held season 2 of the groundbreaking “Write to Ignite Blogging Project” with Dear Survivor as this year’s theme.

Participating in the effort of rebuilding the nation, Citizen COMCO Advocacy Program launched “5 Gifts to the Community” via the Cause Marketing for Good initiative with World Vision. Aside from championing social, micro and small enterprises, Citizen COMCO is at the forefront of other advocacies such as children, culture, environment and regional collaboration. The last leg of the celebration is the Blazing Sapphire Main Event where several major initiatives were unveiled.

Blazing New Grounds: From Southeast Asia to the Middle East & Africa

Among the announcements shared during the event was the launch of COMCO Middle East & Africa, which will bring COMCO’s brand of meaningful storytelling to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Middle East and Africa region. The move is also poised to open doors of opportunities for COMCO’s client partners to take advantage of the multi-cultural team’s knowledge and network of both flourishing and fast-moving markets and to unlock the gateway to launching inter-regional campaigns. This is also especially momentous as UAE plays host to the World Expo, one of the first and largest international events on the planet, taking place every five years and lasting six months. With the COMCO team’s local presence, brands that are aiming to get a foothold at Expo 2020 Dubai are sure to be guided as they present themselves to a truly global audience.

COMCO MEA will be spearheaded by Tricia Cusi - Jimenea, COMCO SEA’s Business Development Director, Partner and Co-Founder and award-winning communications professional with over a decade of experience in the MEA market and exposure in industries including consumer, corporate, luxury, fashion, wellness, hospitality, entertainment and more. She has led landmark events and campaigns that have helped position Dubai as one of the world’s entertainment capitals, handling celebrities like Mariah Carey, Enrique Iglesias, BTS, and events like the Middle East Film and Comic-Con.

“It’s an honor and a huge responsibility to bring this brand that we co-founded in SEA to MEA. As we expand our operations to this region, we are guided by our company’s values of using the power of communication as a tool to not only serve our clients but also our community. From igniting brand love to executing impactful and meaningful campaigns that improve and enrich the lives of our stakeholders, our COMCO MEA team is committed towards continuing the trailblazing path that our COMCO SEA family has paved for us,” said Ms. Jimenea.

The 10-Year Masterplan

COMCO also gave a glimpse of its 10-year master plan during the event, which includes the formation of the COMCO AOX League of Enterprises, the umbrella group for all of COMCO’s existing and upcoming ventures, initiatives and advocacies. Forming the COMCO AOX League are COMCO Southeast Asia, COMCO Middle East & Africa, SEA Wave Pop Culture Magazine, Citizen COMCO Advocacy Group, Camp COMCO Alumni Society, and upcoming ventures Taro Digital AOX and COMCOffee Club, with more in the pipeline to be unveiled in the next couple of years.

The COMCO AOX League of Enterprises will be led by Ferdinand Bondoy, the Regional Integration & Chief Executive Director, Partner and Co-Founder of COMCO Southeast Asia, a champion of strategic integrated communications and a thought leader in the field. Currently, Mr. Bondoy is also the Corporate Secretary of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Philippines, Board Trustee of the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) and International Communications Committee Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) based in the United Kingdom. ComCo Southeast Asia’s operations will be co-led by the rest of the Agency’s seasoned and award-winning Directors, Partners and Co-Founders Carl Cuevas (Deputy Operations Director), Rachel Syfargo (Editorial and Creative Services Director) and Joan Icotanim-Maslang (Corporate Services Director).

The Winning Agency Culture

COMCO SEA was born out of the dream of individuals coming together to build a communications firm with a unique agency culture that makes a difference.

Ferdinand Bondoy shared, “We have a Culture of ‘Rebellion’ in the practice. We do things differently. We also have a Culture of Mentorship and Cultivation of the Best Team Experiences that inspire the creation of the Best Works of our Lives or simply our Life's Work and that includes life-changing initiatives and advocacies that matter and taken to heart. We champion the Integration of the Southeast Asian region and connecting it to the world through Collaborative Entrepreneurship.”

In its 5 years, COMCO Southeast Asia has won recognition from various prestigious local, regional and international award-giving bodies, garnering a total of 80 awards and has worked with over 70 brands in diverse industries including Eastern Communications, JobStreet, Sunlife ASCP, Teleperformance, Xiaomi, Defensil, Lista.ph, World Vision, WWF, Lenovo and Lamoiyan Corporation’s Licealiz plus its recently won accounts from inter-agency pitches such as global bioresearch and pharmaceutical company Takeda, well-loved milk brand Alaska, international footwear Skechers, global technology company Emerson, development organization United Nations (UN) Office for Project Services and premium artisan chocolate Theo and Philo.

“Back in 2016, the founding of COMCO Southeast Asia was a wild dream fulfilled. We were just a former team who wanted to be back working together again, continue our passions and advocacies, and form the amazing culture we have always aspired for in an agency. Five years after, we did not expect it will even get wilder with the launch of our 10-year master plan including the unveiling of COMCO Middle East & Africa and COMCO AOX League of Enterprises, which is way earlier and bigger than we initially envisioned. Who would have thought that a young team, a SEA start-up, a boutique communications agency can diverse its growth, have this global reach and make a real difference along the way. All of these happened because of God’s grace, our great team called COMCO Squadron, our wonderful client partners, our dearest industry, media and online community friends, and our regional allies. Thank you and we hope that you continue to support us as we make this unique vision fully come to life,” said Mr. Bondoy.
