James Reid expresses the joy of summer romance on “Mirasol”


James Reid continues to earworm his way to pop ubiquity with the release of Mirasol—out today via Sony Music Entertainment.

His latest single not only oozes with undeniable charisma but also reinstates his potential as a hitmaker of first-rate caliber, boasting an impressive run of inescapable chart-toppers in the 2010s.

According to James, the song is about falling in love with a sunflower and how romance is something that requires appreciation, protection, and understanding. “Love is an organic process and needs to grow naturally,” he adds.

“Mirasol” is co-written by James and Alison Shore, an R&B artist whose work brims with effortless cool and ‘90s suave. Both accomplished artists thought of using the sunflower as a metaphor “for a relationship that gives off an air of sweet summer romance and innocence.”

As James explains it further, “I want to connect on a different level with my fans that I haven’t been able to do before. Writing in Tagalog (Filipino) was a very welcomed challenge for me, and I’ve enjoyed it so much.”

One Click Straight’s Tim Marquez, a frequent collaborator of James himself, also brought a tapestry of effortlessly blissful sound that complements the romantic nature of the lyrics. The final product evokes the more commercial and critically acclaimed work of James Reid during the Diary Ng Panget era, but rendered with more sophistication and subtlety, production-wise.

“Mirasol” serves as the third single off his upcoming EP, jgh, which is slated to drop on November 22, 2024. The soon-to-be-released EP, which contains tracks such as “Sandal” and “Hurt Me Too,” is described to be a “return-to-form” record, touching on his softer, more vulnerable side and more pop-leaning direction.

James Reid takes his photographic journey to next level with the new X-T20

When I was in primary school until high school, I would try everything,” shared James during the Champ Moves video shoot. “I love swimming and I’ve been doing it as long as I can remember. I also played Australian football, golf, gymnastics, and even went as far as high-diving.” 
Showing off his champ-like enthusiasm and winning energy, James excelled particularly in gymnastics and swimming, allowing him to participate in several school competitions.
“I competed in school for swimming, and I also reached regionals for gymnastics. Looking back, it was really a good experience, I even won a bronze medal for it," he recalled.

  • James’ dad was the reason why he was athletic at a young age, encouraging him to try different sports.
Growing up, James’ dad encouraged him to work hard and play hard. Whenever James would start to doubt himself, it was his dad who kept pushing him to excel. 
“My dad introduced me to different types of sports. He didn’t make me do anything I didn’t want to do. Instead, he encouraged me to try new things and to do my best—he even loved taking videos of me in training. Even if I wasn’t good at a sport, he’d keep pushing me to never give up,” James shared.

  • More than competing and winning, he loves the team camaraderie.
“During competitions, what I enjoyed the most was the team camaraderie—meeting new people and making new friends who were like-minded and passionate about sports," James said.

  • Despite his busy schedule in front of the screen, James continues to maintain an active and healthy lifestyle.
James makes sure that he keeps an active and healthy lifestyle by exercising and eating right. 
“Regardless of how hectic my schedule gets, I still make sure I stay active by going to the gym,” said James. “In keeping a healthy lifestyle, it’s important to start your day right by eating a nutritious breakfast; as they say it’s the most important meal of the day.” 
James also stressed that discipline is key in achieving a healthy lifestyle. “It’s so easy to fall back on eating unhealthy food knowing that it won’t give you the right energy or nutrients. One needs the willpower to choose to eat the right food, and keep doing it every day. It’s the secret to having a happy and healthy life.

After a big reveal that showcased a body reinvented by Century Tuna, stopped EDSA traffic, and sent fans on a social media frenzy, top actor James Reid appears anew in a TV commercial that gives a glimpse on how thinking like a champion has brought him to where he is now. 

There’s no denying that James Reid is one of the hottest young actors today. Real-Life couple James Reid and Nadine Lustre will do all for Real Love in 'Till I Met You"

ABS-CBN and Dreamscape Television Entertainment proudly presents ‘Till I Met You, the newest TV series that marked the return of James Reid-Nadine Lustre (JaDine) tandem's TV appearance since On the Wings of Love. 

The TV series set to show that real love wins, “Till I Met You” starring the love team of real-life couple James Reid and Nadine Lustre, with primetime’s new leading man JC Santos, which starts on Monday (August 29).

Directed by Antoinette Jadaone, "Till I Met You" was shot at Athens, Santorini and Mykonos, Greece! Aside from the kilig moments, viewers are set to see the breathtaking sceneries of Greece as some of the scenes were shot in Santorini and other parts of the country.

Iris, (Nadine Lustre), Ali (JC Santos) and Basti (James Reid) find themselves in an unusual love triangle. As conflicts arise they are led into the difficult situation whether to fight for their love or save their friendship.

Iris (Nadine) an achiever yet simple girl who wishes to give her family a better life. Having grown up without a father, she lives happily with her siblings and her mother Cassandra (Carmina Villarroel). 
She then develops a mutual understanding with her childhood best friend Ali (JC Santos), a son of a military general and a cook. 
With the same aspirations in life, Iris and Ali grow closer to each other and will develop a budding romance. 
Together they will chase for their dreams in Greece, where they will meet Basti (James Reid), a rebellious son who works as a tour guide in the country. Living only by himself, he will find the acceptance he has been looking for from Iris and Ali. 
However, their friendship will be put to test as Basti falls for Iris, deeply hurting Ali. This will lead them to the point of choosing between what matters more: love or friendship. 
Will Iris and Ali still fulfill the dreams they built together? Will Basti fight for his love for Iris? Are they ready to risk everything to have the one they love?

During the grand press conference, James went as far as to say that the story in "Till I Met You" is better than "OTWOL (On the Wings of Love)," a kilig-filled romantic series.

“Everyday I am more in love with her (Nadine),” said James. 

Nadine said that this new story is on friendship and love. "Katulad ng sa amin ni James, start with friendship. Then learn to love the guy beyond friendship," shared Nadine.


JC Santos

JC Santos, the third wheel in JaDine's new series, plays the role of Alejandro, the common friend of the characters of James Reid and Nadine Lustre.

He is a theater actor at the University of the Philippines-Diliman. He became a singer and dancer at Hong Kong Disneyland and at Universal Studios Singapore before going to New York to study musical theater. He has played supporting roles in TV in his past projects.

JC said that he did not have any second thoughts when he finally offered a role. He was overwhelmed when he learned that he would be one of the lead stars of "Till I Met You."

"Actually nung time na 'yun, iniisip ko okay na ako kung aawayin ko lang si James dito. Gulat na gulat po ako at hindi ako makapaniwala na isa ako sa mga bida. Nagpapasalamat po ako sa pagtitiwala talaga. Punong puno ang puso ko ngayon," he said.

ABS-CBN's 13th Christmas station ID - 'Thank You For the Love' by Kapamilya love teams


"Thank You For the Love is ABS-CBN's 13th Christmas station ID - released on Tuesday a video of the recording session of its newest Christmas tune, as performed by the biggest Kapamilya love teams.


The nearly four-minute video shows Daniel Padilla, Kathryn Bernardo, Enrique Gil, Liza Soberano, Nadine Lustre, and James Reid singing "Thank You For the Love."


It also featured "The Voice Kids" season 2 champion Elha Nympha with her coach Bamboo Mañalac.

'Thank You For the Love' featured lyrics by Robert Labayen and was composed by the songwriting duo of Thyro Alfaro and Yumi Lacsamana. The song serves as a reminder about the different kinds of love in the world. It followed last year's Christmas song, dubbed "Thank You Ang Babait Ninyo," that honored the "gratitude that is innate in every Filipino"
