Step into Dua Lipa’s Radical Optimism Experience in Glorietta!
Award-winning global popstar Dua Lipa has finally released her third album Radical Optimism, and it’s been getting critical acclaim ever since. Now, Filipino fans can enjoy the album on a whole new level this coming weekend with an interactive Radical Optimism Pop-Up happening at the Glorietta Activity Center.
A Dance-inducing Masterpiece
Radical Optimism makes it known early on just what type of album it is with the addicting “End Of An Era,” high-energy “Training Season,” and euphoric, club-ready “Houdini.” With this album, fans get eleven songs that can bring out anyone’s urge to groove and get lost in the music.
Dua herself describes Radical Optimism as “psychedelic pop,” noting that “there are musical breaks and a mix of different sounds, and when you listen to it with your eyes closed, it opens up a very visual world.”
The album was inspired by Dua’s own self-discovery and speaks to the pure joy and happiness of having clarity in situations that once seemed impossible to face. It’s a musical representation of how hard goodbyes and vulnerable beginnings can become milestones once you choose to see the brighter side of things. “It struck me – the idea of going through chaos gracefully and feeling like you can weather any storm,” she shared.
Rolling Stone has called this album “pop bliss,” while highlighting how it’s “uniquely and
utterly Dua Lipa: confident dance pop full of witty Instagram-caption-ready one-liners.”
Dua also recently returned to Saturday Night Live, where she was both the host and the musical guest for the night. She gave an electrifying version of “Illusion,” followed by a passionate performance of “Happy For You.”
An Experiential Pop-Up
Can’t get enough of the album? Experience it like never before with this week’s Radical Optimism event. This unique and immersive pop-up is set to bring all of Dua’s songs to life – to the point where dancing is the only option! Fans can go and see it for themselves when they visit the Glorietta Activity Center from May 17 to 19, anytime between 10 AM and 9 PM. They’ll be treated to themed photobooths, personalized memorabilia, and more!
Exciting things are happening for Dua, as she recently announced the first run of tour dates in support of Radical Optimism with shows in Berlin, Pula, and Nimes taking place in June. In addition, Dua will make her Pyramid Stage debut as the Friday night headliner at this year’s Glastonbury Festival on June 28th.
This pop powerhouse shows no signs of slowing down, and everyone’s excited to see even more performances and visuals for her new songs in the coming weeks.

own music and fan base. “Spotify
continues to be instrumental to our growth in many ways. From boosting

DOT Launches “Sounds More Fun in the Philippines” Playlist on Spotify
The Department of Tourism (DOT) presents the “Sounds More Fun in the Philippines” Playlist, a compilation of specially selected Filipino music that will welcome listeners back to the Philippine destinations they love, and let them relive those epic travel memories.
The initial playlists will be available on the digital music streaming app Spotify. The first 10 playlists to be launched are Manila Night Lights, Boracay Beach Bar, Onshore in La Union, Cordillera Calm, The Pan-Philippine Highway Road Trip, Marilaque Bike Trail Mix, Balikbayan Juke Box, Counting Clouds in Camiguin, Wedding Vows in Tagaytay and Deep Dive in Palawan.
The chosen songs aim to set the soundtrack of one’s stories—like the Cordillera Clam playlist that provides laidback OPM tunes to warm the bones like a strong cup of Cordillera coffee; or the Boracay Beach Bar playlist that surrounds one with beach vibes perfect for grooving; or the Manila Night Lights that brings listeners back to the eras of disco, dance-rock, and neo soul, reliving those dazzling nights when the city truly comes alive.
“These tunes will allow listeners to evoke the getaways, secret spots, and homes away from home that every traveler can find somewhere across the 7,641 islands of the Philippines.”, said Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat.
The playlists are attuned for every kind of listener—the listed songs can be played loud to get one going before that early morning bike trail, or to keep them company on an epic road trip; or these can be played softly in the background as one savors the bliss that follows a good surf, or daydreams while lounging and gazing at the sea on a white sand beach.
Through this, the DOT intends to provide the feeling that, wherever you are, the fun is never far away.
To create the playlists, the DOT enlisted the help of Filipino music obsessives. These include legendary rock DJ and Sandwich bassist Myrene Academia, podcast personality Ryan Joseph, music pundit Jocelyn Blwg, Matt San Pedro of Manila Community Radio and Transit Records, musicologist Patricia Brillante-Silvestre, and music producer Abdel Aziz.
The songs and artists featured in these playlists are Pinoys as well as international artists and bands with Filipino roots.
Follow DOT’s official Spotify account, Tourism Philippines, and explore the archipelago’s diverse soundscapes and get to know the artists who made the music that has defined generations and those that are charting its future course.
#SoundsMoreFunInThePhilippines is a celebration of why—and where—music sounds more fun in the Philippines.

Ben&Ben is PH’s most-streamed OPM Artist of 2021 according to Spotify Wrapped
On top of the streaming recognition, the band also reaped major honors at the 34th Awit Awards and landed top-tier collaborations with National Geographic and Jollibee
Ben&Ben is ending the year right with
record-breaking achievements on major fronts: from dominating streaming
platforms in the Philippines to landing top-tier multimedia collaborations,
from sweeping major categories in every important award show to staging their game-changing
headline concert.
For a second consecutive year, the
nine-piece collective was named the Philippines’ most-streamed OPM Artist and
Group of 2021—thanks to the success of their sophomore album, Pebble House
Vol. 1: Kuwaderno. According to Spotify Wrapped, the platform’s
annual rundown of 2021’s biggest hits, Ben&Ben has amassed nearly 300
million streams in 170 countries, setting a new record for the folk-pop outfit.
The Lunod hitmakers also showed impressive performance in the
playlisting category as their songs ended up in 5,809,115 major and curated
playlists on the digital platform.
On top of the streaming recognition, the
acclaimed band recently bagged the top honors at the 34th Awit
Awards—the country’s version of the Grammys. Ben&Ben earned the recognition
on four major categories, including the Most Streamed Artist, Record of the
Year and Best Inspirational Recording for their chart-topping hit “Di Ka
Sayang,” as well as Best Ballad Recording for “Sa Susunod na Habang Buhay.”
Ben&Ben also made headlines for
their advocacy work a few days ago, particularly for lending their song
“Kayumanggi” on the music video campaign that supports the coastal communities
in La Union. The project, which was spearheaded by Emerging Islands, a
coastal-based arts organization and National Geographic, showcased the cultural
richness and scenic beauty of Bangar and Bauang, San Juan, as well as its
hard-working people.
To cap off a successful year, their
smash single “Pasalubong,” a collaboration with Moira, was used as the main
song for the John Lloyd Cruz-Bea Alonzo reunion film, One True Pair,
which streamed on Jollibee’s official YouTube last December 1, 2021.
In an official statement, Ben&Ben
expressed that there have been a lot of trade-offs in their personal and
collective lives in the past year, but they’re grateful for the success and
support of their fandom, Liwanag in every project that they’re part.
“With everything happening and all the blessings coming our way, it’s a whole
lot to be grateful for indeed,” the band shares. “The hard work is worth it in
that sense for sure, but we do go through our fair share of personal struggles
as well, especially with this year and even the past year being two of the
absolute most challenging years so far, not just for us but for so many in the
world too. We want to thank our listeners especially though, because they
really were the ones that give us that daily reminder that it is all worth it.”
This weekend, the multi-awarded group is
set to perform at the Kuwaderno: A Ben&Ben Online Concert, their
biggest headline show to date. Shot live at the Araneta Coliseum, the digital
concert is set to redefine the virtual concert-going experience with a fusion
of creative disciplines, from theatre to dance, orchestra to technology. The
band will also be playing songs off their recently released sophomore album, Pebble
House Vol. 1: Kuwaderno, as well as some crowd favorites and hits. Tickets
to the show are still available via ktx.ph.
