vivo V70 Review: vivo V70 built for golden moments, photography, impresses by looks and beyond

Most of the time, it’s tricky to pick the right camera equipment for a day-to-day journey, business or lifestyle, or travel trip, especially when weight, size exceptional features are important priorities.

Photography with smartphone cameras makes it accessible to a range of users seeking to experiment with settings and technique.

The vivo V70 series, co-engineered with ZEISS, redefines smartphone photography — radiant and elegant. Capture every golden moment with the 50MP ZEISS Super Telephoto Camera, and let your shots shine like never before!

I always say, "I need the best smartphone for everyday use." It’s the mode of use that is often the most important, just want a reliable tool that will perform well even in most tricky situations. I've using vivo V70, the Golden Hour (Color), for weeks, and I can really say, "this is it!"

The vivo V70

The vivo V70 comes with a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and ultra-thin 1.25mm bezels, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.

The vivo V70 features a flat 6.59‑inch OLED display with a 2750×1260 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, 10‑bit color, and a peak brightness of up to 1800 nits. It also has an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, which is faster and more secure than the optical sensor on the previous model.

Slimmer and lighter than vivo V60, vivo V 70 measues 7.4–7.6mm thick and weighing 187–194g. It now has an aluminum frame and rated IP68 and IP69 for water and dust resistance.

Aiming to deliver a more refined software experience. vivo V70 offers a mix of high-end specifications, including the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, a large 6,500mAh battery, and a ZEISS-backed camera system. It also runs the Android 16-based OriginOS 6 skin,

Camera

The in-body image stabilization of modern mobile cameras is great, it's really tuned for photography and videography.

The vivo V70 has a 50MP main sensor with OIS, a 50MP telephoto lens, and an 8MP ultra‑wide lens. Video recording now supports 4K at 60fps. Portrait shots come with multiple focal lengths and ZEISS‑style bokeh modes.

There are plenty of Zeiss portrait styles to choose from, and each one plays with the background in a different way. You’ll need to try them all to find your preference : Natural / Biotar / - B-speed / Sonar/ Planar/ Distagon /Cine-flare/Cinematic.

Why vivo V60 is still a 2026 must-buy smartphone

Upgrading your phone can be confusing when every new model promises something spectacular. What if last year’s phone still delivers what you really need?

The vivo V60, released in September 2025, is exactly that kind of phone. It blends strong performance, premium imaging, and practical AI tools in a way that still feels fresh in 2026.

Here are the top reasons why the vivo V60 continues to hold its own.

Better value in a market with rising phone costs

Smartphone prices have been creeping up in 2026. A big reason is the global memory chip price increase. These chips are essential for your phone’s speed and storage, and rising costs for them are affecting the price tags of new devices.

Because the vivo V60 was priced before these increases took full effect, it offers a more balanced cost-to-feature ratio than many newly released phones. In practical terms, that means you get strong performance and generous storage without paying as much as you might for a newer model.

For price-aware Filipino shoppers, this is a real advantage.

ZEISS-powered camera that still takes great photos

If taking good photos matters to you, the vivo V60 delivers. Its 50MP ZEISS Super Telephoto Camera zooms up to 100x, letting you capture detailed shots from far away without losing clarity.

What makes it even more exciting is the underwater photography feature. With IPx8 and IPx9 water resistance built in, you can take photos and videos in the pool. For many Filipinos who love summer trips, this is a feature you will actually use.

The fact that the camera system was developed with ZEISS, a respected name in optics, adds confidence that your photos will look great without extra editing.

Intuitive AI tools that fit how you work and create

Artificial intelligence is no longer a luxury. In 2026, it is part of everyday phone use. The vivo V60 includes a suite of AI-powered features that help both productivity and creativity. Here are some of its useful AI features:

For everyday productivity:
• AI Smart Call Assistant, which can translate voice calls in real time

• AI Captions, which can transcribe meetings, translate languages, and summarize key points with a single tap
For creative expression:
• AI Four-Season Portrait, which adds seasonal effects to portraits

• AI Erase 3.0, which removes glares and unwanted elements from photos
These tools help you do more with your phone without complicated apps or extra steps.

Even though it is not the newest model, the vivo V60 keeps delivering experiences that matter. It gives you solid performance, a capable camera system, and practical AI features - all at a price that feels fair in today’s market.

If you want a phone that feels dependable and fun to use, the vivo V60 is still a great choice. Starting at Php 28,999, grab the vivo V60 in vivo concept stores, kiosks, and online via the vivo e-store, Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop.

vivo X300 Pro's Photographer Kit: Edge or Extra?

The vivo X300 Pro has earned its reputation as the Telephoto King, powered by the 200MP ZEISS APO Telephoto Camera, a lens that captures distant scenes with striking clarity and depth. This camera has already proven its strength on the global stage, earning a top score in DxOMark’s telephoto evaluation, positioning the device as a benchmark others now aim to match.

The phone supports 85mm optical zoom, but when paired with the vivo ZEISS 2.35x Telephoto Extender Kit, co-engineered by vivo and ZEISS, its digital zoom reach stretches up to 5400mm, opening new possibilities for photographers who want more creative freedom without carrying traditional camera gear.

Crafted with ZEISS for clarity beyond the horizon

The vivo ZEISS 2.35x Telephoto Extender is based on a Keplerian optical structure composed of 13 high-transmittance lens elements arranged in three groups, including three ultra-low dispersion glass elements that reduce chromatic aberration and refine image accuracy.

Its large-aperture objective lens enhances light intake, allowing clearer captures even when shooting farther or in challenging conditions.

“The telephoto extender gives photographers a powerful option to explore detail at scale, while keeping the experience mobile, intuitive, and exciting,” said Liu Lu, Brand Marketing Director of vivo Philippines.

Designed for control, built for endurance

To complement the X300 Pro’s imaging strength, vivo also introduced the vivo PGYTECH Imaging Grip Kit, giving photographers and creators improved ergonomics and camera-style physical controls in one compact accessory.

The kit includes a tailored phone case, neck strap, filter adapter ring, quick-release hooks, and the imaging grip, which doubles as a power bank to support longer shoots without interruptions.

The grip features a physical zoom lever and a control dial to adjust exposure, along with a video recording button, charging button, and a multi-function shutter button that supports half-press to focus, focus and exposure lock, burst shooting, and quick single-press capture. This makes it a practical tool for vloggers capturing travel clips, portrait shooters fine-tuning focus before the shot, and sports creators documenting fast-moving moments at basketball courts, concerts, and celebrations.

“We know creators shoot in movement, emotion, and spontaneity,” Liu Lu shared. “This grip was built for them from steadier handling to longer shoots, smarter control, and more confidence in every capture.”

Edge or extra?

The Photographer Kit accessories were designed with different users in mind, but with one shared purpose: to elevate mobile imaging without complicating the process.

The telephoto extender is for photographers who want to capture subjects at extreme distances, whether it’s nature, city skylines, architecture, or live events.

The imaging grip is for creators who want physical control, stability, and longer battery endurance, especially those producing lifestyle, portrait, or sports content where precision and pacing matter.

Both kits are sold separately, allowing users to choose the accessory that best supports their shooting style. The vivo ZEISS 2.35x Telephoto Extender Kit is available for Php 12,999, while the vivo PGYTECH Imaging Grip Kit retails for Php 7,999 in vivo concept stores nationwide. The vivo X300 Pro is also sold separately at Php 79,999, which you can buy online via the vivo e-store and Shopee.

vivo X300 Series Photo Contest winner shows power of telephoto storytelling

Multimedia producer Bryan Aliwalas wins 1st, takes home vivo X300

vivo Philippines turned zoom into spotlight at the vivo X300 Series Launch Photo Contest, a competition that challenged guests to tell powerful stories using only the flagship’s 200MP ZEISS Super Telephoto Camera during the launch event.

With intention, emotion, and striking contrast at the core of his frame, multimedia producer Bryan Aliwalas emerged as the grand winner, proving that distance is not a limitation, it’s a new perspective waiting to be captured.

The contest kicked off live on November 26 during the vivo X300 Series Launch, where Photography Masterclass speaker and judge Jan Mayo reviewed all submissions and selected the Top 3 finalists based on telephoto creativity and storytelling.

The top 3 then moved online for a 3-day public voting period on vivo's official Facebook page, where the winner was determined by the highest combined reach and engagement. It was during this stage that Bryan’s 15x zoom photo of a spotlight-lit wall artwork captured the audience’s attention and earned him the top spot.

Judge Jan Mayo, commended Bryan’s photo: “When we say telephoto, it offers a new perspective of something unknown or far away. The black area emphasizes what’s in the middle, making the vibrance and contrast truly stand out.'’

Winner’s Insight: Seeing Far, Feeling Close

Bryan said, “At first, I took photos of subjects close to me, and they turned out great. But I wanted to challenge myself, and of course the phone, so I decided to capture something far from my position. I noticed an artwork on the wall illuminated by the event lights, zoomed in to around 15x, found the right angle, and took the shot. The vivo X300 handled it perfectly and delivered a clear, detailed photo.”

“I also paid close attention to Jan Mayo’s talk and the sample photos he showed that were taken with the vivo X300 Pro. When I later noticed the artwork highlighted by a spotlight, it immediately struck me as the perfect subject,” he added.

As part of vivo’s appreciation for creative excellence, Bryan will receive the flagship smartphone, vivo X300. He was on a drive to Tagaytay City when he found out about his win from his girlfriend, making the moment even more memorable.

Engagement in Every Frame

Beyond the grand prize, vivo also honored the entry that generated high engagement on the official Facebook voting post.

Branded content editor Euden Valdez captured a subtle yet striking moment, noticing her subject across the table and using the glass in front as an unexpected frame, earning her 2nd place and a vivo V60.

“It made my day! I was super-duper surprised and grateful,” said Euden.

Shoot like a pro: BJ Pascual's vivo V50 Masterclass

To mark a decade of innovation, vivo hosted an exclusive and interactive Photography Masterclass led by renowned celebrity and fashion photographer BJ Pascual at the vivo store in One Ayala, and streamed live on vivo Philippines’ official Facebook page on July 12, 2025.

The event brought together loyal vivo fans and photography enthusiasts to learn how to shoot like a pro using the vivo V50, the brand’s latest V Series innovation featuring a 50MP ZEISS All Main Camera.

Hosted by the ever-stunning Nicole Cordoves, the masterclass kicked off with energy and excitement as she introduced BJ Pascual and the impressive capabilities of the vivo V50.

A Creative Spark: BJ Pascual’s Journey Into Photography

Before he became one of the most celebrated celebrity fashion photographers in the country, known for working with A-list stars and gracing the pages of top magazines, BJ Pascual was simply a young creative with an eye for storytelling and a drive to make things happen.

His journey into photography began much earlier than college. He first picked up an SLR camera as a personal hobby, experimenting with shots long before stepping into any formal art or design setting.

BJ spent his early years crafting, managing a fan blog for Christina Aguilera, practicing graphic design, and even designing the official shirt for his batch at DLSU. Creativity was his comfort zone, and he poured himself into every detail of it.

Without any connections in the fashion or media industries, BJ knew he had to build his own path. His first big step came when his photos were featured in their school magazine.

That recognition became a turning point. It introduced his work to a wider audience and showed him that his passion had the power to open doors.

What started as a hobby eventually became a career. From crafting at home to being featured in school publications, those early moments laid the groundwork for what would become an incredible journey behind the lens.

Learning from the Photography Master

The event wasn’t just a talk. It was a full-on creative deep dive with BJ Pascual himself. Armed with the vivo V50 co-engineered with ZEISS, BJ let his viewers in on how he captures magazine-worthy portraits, fashion shots, and beauty closeups straight from his mobile phone.

Nicole herself modeled throughout the masterclass, showing first-hand how powerful mobile photography can be with the device’s advanced ZEISS lenses and portrait technology.

1. Basic Photography Using Portrait Mode

BJ kicked things off with the foundation of it all: lighting, composition, and framing. He explained how portrait mode enhances depth and focus, especially when paired with good lighting.

Taken using Photo Mode

Taken using Portrait Mode

Tip from BJ: Want that long-legged, runway-ready illusion? Keep the subject’s face in the center of your grid. It gives the legs and background more space to stretch—hello, editorial realness.

He also explained how distortion can be used intentionally to shape the subject and make photos more dynamic, especially for storytelling.

2. Fashion Photography Using ZEISS Multifocal Portrait Mode

Next was a deep dive into lens play. BJ introduced the ZEISS Multifocal Portrait Mode, showing how you can switch from:

23mm

35mm

50mm

The rule? The lower the number, the wider the background. And yes—it’s all in your pocket.

Tip from BJ: Use focal length like a styling tool. Wide for drama, tight for intimacy. Choose what story you want to tell with the frame.

3. Beauty Shots Using ZEISS Style Bokeh & AI Aura Light 2.0

To close the masterclass, BJ dove into one of the most exciting features of the vivo V50 — the ZEISS Style Bokeh Effects and AI Aura Light Portrait 2.0.

Using just the phone, he recreated what would normally require a full photography setup: glowing, cinematic beauty portraits that could easily pass for magazine editorials. And the best part? No bulky lenses needed.

BJ highlighted his top three ZEISS bokeh styles built into the vivo V50 — each one simulating lenses that would otherwise cost tens to hundreds of thousands:

• Biotar – Known for its signature swirl that wraps light around the subject, creating a dreamy and artistic effect. (Estimated lens cost: Php 23,000)

• B-Speed – Offers a subtle motion blur with curved, triangular highlights that bring life and movement to a portrait. (Estimated lens cost: Php 219,000)

• Distagon – Inspired by ZEISS’ famous “Hollywood lens,” it delivers smooth, creamy background blur with distinctive hexagonal light effects. (Estimated lens cost: Php 83,000)

Biotar

B-Speed

Distagon

Tip from BJ: Use different bokeh styles to express different moods — soft swirls for a romantic feel, cinematic motion for dynamic glam, and clean blur for timeless elegance.

BJ shared how impressed he was that these effects, once only achievable with bulky prime lenses, are now available in one device. With the vivo V50, he could achieve the same level of detail, emotion, and artistry he’d typically create in a full studio setup — right from his pocket.

And of course, he wrapped it all up with a reminder that resonated: “Start with vision.” Because at the heart of every great photo isn't just technique, it’s the intent to how you tell a story

Celebrate with vivo

When scrolling through social media feeds, users are automatically drawn to people who know how to hit all the right angles. Followers are always ready to double-tap and show love the moment their fave creators appear.

This is certainly true for content queens Max Collins and Michelle Dee who always steal the spotlight with every photo and video they post. Their ability to consistently engage followers and create buzz highlights their influence and star power in the digital space.

The two celebrities went viral once again after proving it only takes the vivo V50's ZEISS Style Bokeh effects to nail those dreamy shots, racking up likes, shares and plenty of love!

Max Collins' favorite? The Biotar bokeh

Every angle's a good angle for Max. No surprise, she's known as one of the country's prettiest. Her stunning portraits in 23mm, 35mm, and 50mm, all shot with the vivo V50’s Multifocal Portrait Mode, say it all.

But what makes her photos even more striking? She turns the Biotar bokeh into an art form!

Famous for its iconic swirl effect, the Biotar bokeh is inspired by the legendary ZEISS Biotar lens, a look that typically comes with a Php 23K price tag. But Max shows it only takes a tap with the vivo V50.

She plays around with the Biotar bokeh on a fun bestie night out filled with great food and drinks. The perfect touch for capturing those fun moments.

Michelle Dee stuns with the B-Speed, Distagon, and Planar bokeh styles

When Michelle steps in front of the camera, she’s all in. She commands attention, elevates every look, and turns every shot into a masterpiece.

With every effortless pose, she shows off her supermodel side. All the shots? Total magazine-cover material.

Michelle first brings the Distagon bokeh to life in her dressing room, where the soft-focus circles provide a luxe glow and added depth to her snaps, just like a Php 83K ZEISS Distagon lens would.

Once glammed up, Michelle steps into the hallway, confidently strutting and posing with the B-Speed bokeh in full swing. This effect delivers a smooth, shallow depth of field and beautifully blurred background. Inspired by the ultra-rare B-Speed lens, this bold style mimics the look of a lens valued at a staggering Php 219K.

Michelle Dee captured in 35mm with Planar Bokeh

Her top pick? The Planar bokeh. This effect is modeled after the Php 60K ZEISS Planar lens. Known for its precision, this style balances sharp detail and soft focus to perfectly highlight background lighting.

Max and Michelle make it clear that with the vivo V50, snapping dreamy, eye-catching bokeh content is smooth and simple.

Excited to explore all seven iconic ZEISS Style Bokeh effects? Get the vivo V50 now for as low as Php 25,999—Php 2,000 off its original price. Visit any vivo store nationwide or shop online now via Shopee, Lazada, or vivo e-store.
