The Yahoo Celebrity Awards 2014 revealed the winners during the awards night held at the SM MAll of Asia Area this Friday, July 18 hosted by Robi Domingo and Maxene Magalona.

Big winners of the night are Vice Ganda for the ‘Social Media Award’ and with Karylle as ViceRylle ‘Love Team of the Year."

Kim Chu is the Actress of the Year and Coco Martin took home Actor of the Year award. 

Yahoo Celebrity Awards honors Philippines’ celebrities from the fields of movies, music, radio and television, who are voted into the top ranks by their fans from across the world.

The Yahoo Celebrity Awards 2014 winners from the 140 nominees across 28 categories and are not only the most popular awards in the country but also uniquely won “Powered by You” as fans have the exclusive power to vote their favorite stars in.

Yahoo Celebrity Awards Receives Over 9 Million Fan Votes and Counting

The 4th Yahoo Celebrity Awards is proving to be the most exciting one yet! After only three weeks of voting, over 9 million votes were notched from online votes, surpassing last year’s total number of votes! 

Yahoo Celebrity Awards (formerly Yahoo OMG! Awards) honors Filipino celebrities from the fields of movies, music, radio and television, who are voted into the top ranks by their fans from across the world. This is the fourth consecutive year of Yahoo Celebrity Awards, which are not only the most popular awards program in the country but also uniquely “Powered by You” - as fans have the exclusive power to vote for their favorite stars. 

Kate Delos Reyes, Country Manager and Country Editor of Yahoo Philippines was ecstatic with the results. 

“We all know how much Filipino fans love our celebrities! Now is the time to show them how important they are to you. Ask your friends and family to vote to make sure your favorites win in their respective categories,” she  said.

This year’s awards is made more exciting with the addition of 10 new categories; Celebrity Couple, Celebrity Family, Male and Female Hothletes, Band of the Year, Male and Female ‘Kontrabida’, Emerging Band, Song of the Year and Social Media Star. There are 140 nominees across 28 categories. 

Mike Constantino, Country Sales Director added, “After an early analysis, we can already see some celebrities dominating the votes in their respective categories. Regularly checking the voting is such an exciting exercise. We are so happy that Filipino fans are very passionate about their celebrities and turn to Yahoo as their source for celebrity news!”

Filipino stars and fans gear up for the most popular awards in the country. 

Formerly titled OMG! Awards, Yahoo Philippines launch the Yahoo Celebrity Awards 2014 and announced the nominees.

This year’s Media Magnet, Marian Rivera graced the launch of Yahoo Celebrity Awards 2014 held at Amber in Bonifacio Global City yesterday June 4. 

TV and radio personalities Christian Bautista, Emmy Gaite Tiñana (Nicole Hyala), Alden Richards, Rocco Nacino, Bea Binene, Ritz Azul, Klarisse de Guzman, Kaye Abad, and Janella Salvador were there too. Internet celebrities Ramon Bautista, cager Jeron Teng, and Miss International 2013 Bea Rose Santiago were also present.

The Yahoo Celebrity Awards for this year includes 140 nominees across 28 categories – with ten new categories added especially given the emerging trends in the entertainment industry. The event gives users a chance to vote for their favorite stars on Yahoo Celebrity and see them up-close and personal during a star-studded, glamorous evening. 

Fans can also request for performances by their favorite stars at the gala awards ceremony that will take place on July 18.

Commenting at the launch, Kate Delos Reyes, Country Manager and Country Editor of Yahoo Philippines said “Yahoo Celebrity Awards honors not only the Pinoy stars but also the fans who propel them to stardom. Yahoo! Philippines launched Technostorm on-ground exposition last Monday at Trinoma, Quezon City. This technostorm expo featuring telecommunications and cutting-edge technology products and services from leading global and local brands. This includes Microsoft, Smart Telecom, Nokia, HP, Epson, Sony, Wi Tribe, PLDT, Sharp, Sun Cellular, LG, Samsung, Lazada, Globe and Phillips.

Hosted by Yahoo!, the expo runs from November 26 to December 2, 2012, and accessible to anyone who is a technology enthusiast. Filipinos can now visit the Technostorm expo to experience the products, watch demos, attend the tech talks and hear from the experts before contemplating on making a purchase.

Technostorm began with a “Virtual Expo” on Yahoo!, featuring the up-and-coming products and services of the country’s leading tech, telecommunications and connectivity brands.
