Converse is taking wet weather head-on this season, combining classic sneaker designs with premium weatherized features, with the debut of the Fall/Holiday 2016 Converse Counter Climate Footwear Collection. The new collections provide the necessary tools to combat the climate shifts while emphasizing essential weather-beating benefits.

The innovative sneaker collections feature a bold mix of colors and materials including water repellent canvas, rubber and leather, and waterproof neoprene.

Divided into three unique categories: Shield Canvas, Leather and Rubber-- these collections are intended to stand up against the unpredictable inclement weather.

BATTLE THE ELEMENTS: CONVERSE DEBUTS
THE NEW COUNTER CLIMATE COLLECTION

Each sneaker has been treated to help tackle rainy weather while maintaining comfort and style. The Converse Counter Climate Shield Canvas sneakers have been given a DWR (durable water repellant) treatment, standing guard as the first line of defense against the rain.

For the holiday season, both new and time-honored styles endure the harsh elements with the Counter Climate Rubber collection. These rubber sneakers are winter-ready with water resistant material and heat retention.

Converse Chuck Taylor All Star II Shield Canvas

Designed for the Chuck Taylor lover who can’t give up their Chucks no matter what the weather, the new Converse Chuck Taylor All Star II Shield Canvas sneaker combines the enhanced comfort of a Lunarlon sockliner, non-slip padded tongue and micro-suede lining with materials that can also withstand most climate challenges.

Converse has added a water repellent Shield Canvas and a gusseted tongue, as well as removing the medial eyelets to make a durable sneaker that is ready for wet and rainy adventures. The sneakers also feature reflective heel webbing and barrel laces for added visibility in low light environments.

Available colors: Black/Volt, Black/Reflective, White/Lava, Black
Suggested retail price: Php 4,550

Converse Chuck Taylor All Star II Rubber

Another iteration of the Chuck II will also be releasing this fall - the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star II Rubber. By incorporating a transparent rubber overlay on the iconic Chuck II silhouette, this allows for the sneaker to breathe while repelling water and protecting feet from the elements. The sneaker includes all the features and benefits of the Chuck II such as a Lunarlon sockliner and a non-slip padded tongue, while adding a beautifully crafted dimensional canvas for breathability, micro-perforated leather lining for comfort, and a heat reflecting barrier at the footbed for warmth.

Suggested retail price: Php 5,430

Converse Cons One Star Shield Canvas

This season, the Converse Cons Star also receives the Shield Canvas treatment, combining the enhanced comfort of a Lunarlon sockliner with a lightweight and breathable canvas that can also withstand the rain. Added features include a gusseted tongue and removed medial eyelets allowing the sneaker to tolerate wet environments. Traction rubber has also been incorporated to the outsole, providing additional grip.

Available colors: Black, White, Obsidian
Suggested retail price: Php 4,250

Converse Jack Purcell Signature Twill Shield Canvas

The Converse Jack Purcell Signature collection introduces a thicker Shield Canvas with a water repellent finish, and a tri-color reflective heel stay. A mesh lining backing the shield canvas regulates temperatures across a range of climates while still keeping the sneaker breathable. Reflective laces add flare while a gusseted tongue construction will prevent water from seeping into the dual pod Nike Zoom Air insole technology.

Available colors: Inked, Natural
Suggested retail price: Php 5,590

Converse Jack Purcell Signature M-Series

This fall, Converse introduces a high top silhouette combined with Counter Climate Shield Canvas. Warm, durable and water-repellent, it delivers all-day, on-the-go comfort. Converse releases its new Fall 2014 collection

Converse gears up for Fall as releases its new Fall 2014 collection. Gone are the sweltering days where humidity hampers people from wearing sneakers. A preview Converse PH Fall 2014 collection and the latests and novel collection was presented to media and guests during a Converse gathering last Tuesday, August 19.

As the weeks now traverse to the cooler and wetter weather, “America’s Original Sports Company”™ Converse releases its new Fall 2014 collection which include the All-Star, Cons Sneaker and Apparel, and Jack Purcell Sneaker.

All-Star Collection

Over the years, the classic All-Star roster already stamped a reliable familiarity to the local market – may it be for a casual or ragged get-up.

With the new designs launched, Converse opted for a monochromatic assemblage with new profiles and elevated detailing which can endure rainy days or mud pits. One should not fret about getting it grubby even in the wildest outdoor music festival there is.

The Chuck Taylor All Star Rubber is water resistant due to its French terry lining with a rubber upper. It is completed with a gusseted tongue and brass eyelets.

Staying true to its vintage theme, this season also highlights distressed washes and contemporary graphic prints.

Converse Chuck Taylor All Star ’70 Woven is leather in style with hand-crafted look and details such as round leather laces and tanned leather toecaps, available in both high and low cut.

Converse Chuck Taylor All Star ’70 boasts new core colors and will also be available in both high and low cut.

Military combat boots will also make a comeback with Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Combat Boot which has a rubberized toe and heel. Solely offered in color black, it is armed with a double overlay eye row, larger opened collar, tongue zipper, and extra-long laces.

To magnify the fall collection, Converse has also brought back its collaboration with legendary rock band, Black Sabbath, and iconic contemporary menswear designer, John Varvatos.

The new prints and fabrications reflect the distinct strong personality of Varvatos. Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Black Sabbath displays iconic photos and album artwork.

Cons Sneaker and Apparel Collection

Converse Cons Weapon is mastered anew with the 2014 Converse Cons Sneaker and Apparel Collection.

One of the highpoints of the novel array is the introduction of the Converse CONS Weapon Skate, the newfangled essential CONS skateboarding sneaker. It promises enhanced durability and comfort through its special sockliner, perforated memory foam and gusseted tongue construction.

For the athletic ones, the CONS Weapon combines sports-inspired street wear with tech innovation, varying in classic colors and notable design elements from the original iconic CONS silhouette. Its new features include a sleek, streamlined silhouette, updated construction, a bold logo on the tongue, and signature Y Bar, and an internal Y bar for comfort.

The CONS Weapon Skate comes with elevated skateboarding functional designs. It takes pride with its drop-in Lunarlon sockliners which provide light and plush cushioning and a mesh underlay on hallmark Star Chevron – all increasing breathability.

It also has the CONS Traction Rubber with perforated memory foam to improve grip and durability and to avoid the ankle from obtaining a snug performance.

Meanwhile, the matte black color blocking of CONS Malden Racer gives way for a subtle statement when one is aiming for a creative appeal. It is waxed canvas and suede in nature – a redefined take on winter style from the classic 80’s era.

CONS Malden Arctic takes it a notch higher with its play on leather and suede, enhanced with a subtle debussed Star Chevron logo. This mid-cut sneaker is outfitted with a bootie construction and lugged outsole, fitting for the cold weather.

A comfortable execution on genuine leather, on the other hand, is what CONS Pro Leather offers. It has a medial underlay vent for breathability and gusseted booty construction for comfort and protection.

Lastlly, Converse Skateboarding Ambassador Kenny Anderson presents CONS KA-II which will capture the heart of everyday skater’s creative spirit and streetwise energy. Through the CONS Flex Cup technology, it provides improved grip and durability and enhanced breathability using the medial underlay vent.

For a grand finishing touch, the Converse CONS apparel collection has a spectacle of sports-inspired outwear with graphic bold prints.

The collection is fueled by street culture and includes cool mixed-media hoodies with camo mixed and vintage heather gray, quilted shirt jackets, and graphic tees. The impressive roster intertwines effortlessly with the rebellious and creative drive of CONS.

“Sneakers Clash” unleashes the power of color

“With the Spring/Summer collection featuring the most brilliant, eye-popping colors, it’s time to smear, spray and jazz-up the flat, the monochromatic, the boring.”

“We will not only paint the town red but in a multitude and dazzling array of colors,” says Kate Oliva, marketing and advertising manager of Converse Philippines.

Converse—the number one sneakers brand that lets you live out loud—unleashes the power of color in a series of simultaneous activities to herald its Spring Summer collection for the year, which is led by the re-issue of the Chuck Taylor All Star 70’s.

Dubbed the “Sneakers Clash,” the event invites the public to step into a kaleidoscope world where squeaky clean white totes, shirts and sneakers been spun in a Clash Box and came out with a swirl of colors, customers leave vibrant sole prints on an immaculate floor, models in painted tattoos will magically blend into dazzling background and photographs be transformed into unique works of art held at the Fairview Ayala Terraces last May 10.
Social media followers also participated in the great fun event beforehand by posting photos of their fun summer activities in Facebook, hashtagging it with #PHOTOCLASHPH and tagging Converse Philippines (Facebook) last May 10, 2014.

The most creative photos jazzed up during the event by CJ de Silva and posted back to the users' respective accounts.

Capping the “Sneakers Clash” were performances from some of the most in-demand bands in the country that include Gracenote, Peso Movement, Paranoid City and Stereodeal.
CEO of Converse Philippines Ms. Margie Go and Michael Carandang, newest brand ambassador of Converse
“Sneakers Clash” also launch of the bands as the newest brand ambassadors of Converse, alongside media personality Michael Carandang.

Called as the All Star Core Creative, Peso Movement reflects the iconoclastic streak of the All Star sneakers but at the same time remain in tune with the urban pulse of the mainstream.

Composed of Japs Sergio on guitars and vocals, Francis “Brew” Reyes on guitars, Macky Macaventa on bass and Kurt Floreska on drums, Peso Movement has proven to be one of the more in-demands acts in the alternative scene with their high-octane rendition of what they call as “dirty rock and roll.”

A relative newcomer Gracenote, hailed as Converse Creative Connector, is composed of Chen Pangan on lead guitars and back up, Jazz Jorge on bass, Eunice Jorge on vocals, keyboards, violin and guitars and EJ Pichay on drums. They seek to make their every performance “a distinct and remarkable experience for our audience.”

Dubbed as Cons Creative Active is Stereodeal for navigating the musical terrain with lightning-fast beats and catchy lyrics. Composed of Adrian Arcega on vocals and guitar, Dax Gonzaga on bass, Marie de Guzman on drums and Dax Balmeo on guitars, the band features “emotional resonance and dance-floor nihilism.”

Paranoid City, composed of AX on vocals and guitars, 8-BIT on bass, lead synthesizers and back-up vocals, Eric Strange on drums and CD R.O.M. on support synthesizers, loops and back-up vocals, is Jack Purcell Creative Curators. Their music, which is a blend of different genres, is at once subtle and hypnotic.

Joining these brand ambassadors is Michael Carandang, also Jack Purcell Creative Curator. Now based in the Philippines, Carandang has served as a producer of popular TV shows in the States: The Tyra Banks Show and America’s Next Top Model.

Also making an appearance is Jeff Gonzales, one of the Converse's regional skate ambassadors. Known for his daredevil moves on the deck, Jeff has been skating since the age of 14. Having competed in various skating events in the world, including the Converse Asia Pacific City Carnage Regional Finals in Shanghai China where he represented the Philippines, he is now conducting skateboarding workshops throughout Asia.

“We have carefully chosen our brand ambassadors to reflect the spirit of Converse: rebellious in a creative way,”says Kate.

“They are trailblazer and influencers in their respective fields—from the alternative scene to pop culture, from tri-media to social media.

We are certain that they will make Converse as their stomping ground for their creative expressions.”
