Golden Grab Awards Crown Restaurants and Grocers Setting Gold Standard in Innovation and Service Quality

Grab Philippines honored the country’s top-performing restaurants and retailers at the Golden Grab Awards 2025, recognizing merchants that have set the "Gold Standard" in an increasingly integrated online-to-offline economy.

Golden Grab Merchants of the Year Juliet Chen (Serenitea), Gerby Estrella (JT’s Manukan Grille), and Ryan Tan (Oh Mango) with Grab Philippines leaders led by Managing Director Ronald Roda.

Top honors for the night went to homegrown milk tea giant Serenitea, which was named GrabFood Merchant of the Year for National Brands, alongside JT’s Manukan Grille, which secured the title for Nationwide Chains, and Oh Mango, which took home the award for Citywide Merchants in Metro Manila.

GrabFood Merchant of the Year for Citywide Merchants in Metro Manila: Oh Mango!

The awards ceremony, attended by hundreds of Grab merchant-partners from across the Philippines, highlighted the evolution of the superapp from an on-demand delivery service into a broader ecosystem that drives growth across both digital and physical storefronts.

This shared trajectory of growth was highlighted by EJ dela Vega, Grab Philippines Head of Deliveries and Chief Commercial Officer, who emphasized the platform’s role as an active, dedicated ally of merchant-partners as they vie for business growth.

“We know that trust is earned day by day, order by order. And the only way we can repay that trust is by remaining steadfast in our commitment to be the unwavering force behind the growth ambition of our merchant-partners,” Dela Vega shared during the Golden Grab Awards night. “Our pledge is simple: to be the partner that ensures when you dream big, you have the tools and the commercial business to achieve it”

A defining standard of excellence

The ceremony underscored the importance of consistency and quality across the board.

In the category of GrabFood Quality, Caramia Cakes & Gelato was honored as the Best Rated National Brand, while 24 Chicken was awarded Most Reliable National Brand for its operational efficiency. For GrabMart, Ever Supermarket and Cion’s Meat Shop were recognized as the Most Reliable merchants, ensuring consistent product availability and exceptional customer experience.

The awards also highlighted the "5-Star Eats" winners — top-performing city and community merchants maintaining the highest ratings. The roster included local favorites Mylene's Ensaymada and Banana Cake, Paya Street Coffee, Quarantea, and CBS Kitchen.

Retail growth leaders were acknowledged as "Category Captains" for GrabMart, with Pet Express (Pets), Watsons (Pharmacies), and Robinsons Supermarket (Supermarkets) recognized as top sales performers setting the standard for excellence.

Innovation in marketing was also a key focus. Southstar Drug and Davao Central Convenience Store were named Adoption Leaders for effectively maximizing Grab Marketing Solutions. Meanwhile, McDonald's was awarded the Data-Driven Impact Trailblazer for its precision campaigns, and Chowking took home the Loyalty Innovation Trailblazer award.

Setting the Gold Standard forward

The event also spotlighted the industry's shift toward "hybrid" dining. JT’s Manukan Grille, Zhenbao Hotpot, and Feta Mediterranean were recognized as Best Dine-Out Merchants for maximizing deals to drive foot traffic.

Greg Camacho, Director for Off-Platform Solutions, emphasized that the future lies in ensuring a gold-standard experience for consumers – whether in-app or in physical stores. "Together, we are changing what it means to be a Grab merchant. Together, we are redefining what it means to be an omnichannel enterprise that’s fully capable of growing sales through both online and offline channels. Together, we are rewriting the playbook on how to win in an ever-evolving F&B industry.”

The MICHELIN Guide has arrived in the Philippines, setting its sights on Manila and Environs & Cebu for its highly anticipated 2026 debut. With our expert Inspectors already exploring the country’s vibrant dining scene, Filipino cuisine is poised to take centre stage on the global culinary map.

The MICHELIN Guide has set its sights on the Philippines, marking an exciting new chapter for the country’s dynamic culinary scene. Today, the prestigious Guide announces its latest expansion into the vibrant culinary landscapes of Manila and Cebu. This new selection will focus on the bustling Metro Manila and the dynamic city of Cebu, while also beginning to explore the environs of Manila, including Pampanga, Tagaytay, and Cavite.

With their signature discretion and expertise, the anonymous MICHELIN Guide Inspectors have been meticulously exploring these regions, seeking out the most exceptional dining destinations. This highly anticipated selection will shine a spotlight on the Philippines’ most talented chefs and dedicated teams, celebrating their passion, innovation, and deep respect for local flavours and traditions.

“Our MICHELIN Inspectors have been following the evolution of the Filipino culinary scene with great excitement. The country’s deep-rooted culinary traditions, combined with a strong openness to global influences, create a uniquely diverse dining culture,” shares Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the MICHELIN Guide.

“In Manila, we see young, talented chefs redefining Filipino cuisine with fresh perspectives; while Cebu, as a leading tourist destination, offers an impressive range of dining experiences with world-class hospitality.”

With 7,641 islands brimming with diverse flavours, age-old traditions, and bold culinary innovation, the Philippines is a gastronomic paradise where heritage and modernity harmoniously collide. From the bustling dining hubs of Manila and Environs — where Filipino cuisine shines with deep regional roots — to the vibrant food culture of Cebu, a world-class tourism destination with a thriving hospitality scene, the country’s ever-evolving culinary landscape continues to captivate global palates.

The arrival of the MICHELIN Guide is supported by the Philippines Department of Tourism (DOT). Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco states, "We extend our warmest welcome to the MICHELIN Guide, whose international recognition of the Philippines’ rich culinary heritage celebrates the diversity of flavours and exceptional creativity that permeate our nation. We are proud to share our vibrant culture and distinct cuisines to the world, which can be enjoyed through exceptional dining experiences across our dynamic cities and beautiful islands. We invite travelers to visit the Philippines and experience the love, warmth, and creativity of Filipino cuisine, while savouring innovative culinary creations shaped by diverse global influences."

“The arrival of the MICHELIN Guide is not only a testament to our country’s culinary excellence but also a significant leap forward for Filipino tourism, with gastronomy now forming a key part of our national tourism priorities. In the Philippines, every dish tells a story and every flavour is an invitation to experience our nation's rich cultural tapestry," Secretary Frasco adds.

The MICHELIN Guide Methodology

The MICHELIN Guide was created in 1900 by the Michelin tire company to support the growth of automobile mobility. Since then, it has remained loyal to its original mission: to settle in mature gastronomic destinations, to guide international travelers and local food lovers to the best restaurants, and to highlight world culinary scenes and to promote travel culture.

The selection will follow MICHELIN’s historic method based on five universal criteria to ensure consistency between each selection, including:
• The quality of the ingredients

• The mastery of cooking techniques

• The harmony of flavours

• The personality of the cuisine

• The consistency both over time and through the menu as a whole

The MICHELIN Guide Restaurant Selection

The MICHELIN Guide conveys its restaurant reviews through an extensive system of distinctions, which are awarded to special restaurants within its full selection. The most famous distinctions are its globally renowned MICHELIN Stars awarded to the restaurant offering the best culinary experiences. One MICHELIN Star is awarded to restaurants for “high-quality cooking that is worth a stop,” two MICHELIN Stars for “excellent cooking that is worth a detour,” and three MICHELIN Stars for “exceptional cuisine that is worth a special journey”.

Alongside the coveted Star ratings, the selection also includes the popular Bib Gourmand category, a distinction awarded to restaurants that provide good quality food at a moderate price.

The MICHELIN Guide is committed to maintaining the highest global standards in its restaurant selection process. Our team of anonymous, experienced, and expert inspectors conduct continuous and rigorous evaluations of restaurants.

These evaluations are carried out objectively and independently, ensuring that external factors do not influence the results. This dedication to impartiality and excellence guarantees that only the outstanding dining establishments are recognised.

The full restaurant selection of the MICHELIN Guide Manila and Environs & Cebu 2026 will be unveiled at a special event to be held in the last quarter of 2025. It will be available exclusively in digital format on all the Guide's interfaces: website, mobile applications, and social networks. It will join the global MICHELIN Guide restaurant and hotel selections to be found for free on its digital platforms.

As part of its Christmas campaign, Jollibee is making sure that its customers can have this delightful experience in their stores.

Jollibee opened their nationwide Joyful Christmas Stores last November 9 with simultaneous events in Manila at  Jollibee BGC Triangle Drive, in Davao at Jollibee Quimpo, and in Cebu at Jollibee General Maxilom. Jollibee officials, media and other esteemed guests gathered to launch it in a unique way –through a ceremonial lighting of the stores with a giant socket and plug. This officially commenced the lighting of 10 flagship Jollibee stores across the country, with another 100 stores with their own merry light displays.

Sharing Joy and Happiness this Christmas

For Luzon and Visayas stores, the brand partnered with another world-class brand known for spreading happiness – Coca Cola Philippines. “We are glad to partner with a brand like Jollibee that shares our values and principles. We are both dedicated to offering delightful food and beverages to all, with the same commitment to making the world better and brighter. We invite you to explore Jollibee’s festive stores, perfect for celebrating the Filipino spirit this Christmas season”, said Tony del Rosario, Coca‑Cola Philippines President.

The Jollibee BGC branch went all out with joyful carolers, lively light dance performances, and the ever-adorable mascots to create an unforgettable holiday celebration. Jollibee celebrity endorsers Anne Curtis, Maja Salvador, and Gary Valenciano also joined the festivities and enjoyed the bright lights and colorful displays of the store.

“We launched our Joyful Christmas Stores nationwide so that customers can feel and experience the joy and spirit of the season with their families and friends. We would like to invite everyone to visit our stores to create more lasting memories and make this Christmas the best one yet with Jollibee Joy,” added Ching.

You can drop by any of these branches to experience the magic of a Jollibee Christmas:

More choices are made available in Araneta City, especially to patrons of Smart Araneta Coliseum. Located just a few steps away from the Big Dome's Red Gate entrance is the Coliseum Plaza, which hosts a variety of options to satisfy any type of craving in one convenient spot.

Put a savory punch to your coliseum experience by enjoying some good meals and snacks from Shake Shack and Mo’s Burger, Hong Kong dim sum at Tim Ho Wan, Pinoy comfort fare at Manam and Nono’s, and a drinks and cocktails bar soon.

Restaurants at the Coliseum Plaza offer both indoor and outdoor seating, giving customers more options on how they want to enjoy their dining experience.

Palenque

Mallgoers who long for dishes from their respective hometowns don't need to go far, as Gateway Mall 2 will feature a food crawl called Palenque – a Pinoy-themed food arena with the best-of-the-best in Filipino food heritage.

At Palenque, diners can do a “food crawl” through a selection of signature cuisine native and unique to every province or region in the Philippines and prepared by celebrated chefs in their own inimitable way. Check out Bale Dutung of Chef Claude Tayag, Al Puruganan’s Ilocos cuisine, Chef Tatung’s Cebu offerings and delicacies, Palm Grill from Zamboanga, Sea Salt Davao Grill, Chinoy's Chicken Fandian and more Bacolod delicacies, and offerings like Diwal.

Behind this exciting food idea is Filipino chef and restaurateur Claude Tayag, who brings his vision and culinary expertise in Philippine gastronomy to the City of Firsts.
