Twitter and NESCAFE blend together for real-time coffee experience via Periscope & Vine

Twitter today announced a partnership with NESCAFÉ to unveil a whole new drinking experience with the NESCAFÉ RED MUG Machine live via Periscope this weekend, the best way to share and watch live video broadcasts from your mobile phone. This is part of a larger digital video campaign, which includes the debut of Niche creators Marc Morgan and Gwri Panner in Asia to develop original Vine content for NESCAFÉ Philippines that will launch on @NESCAFEPH.

This is the first time a brand in Asia Pacific is using Niche, a network of over 20,000 social media creators. As part of Twitter's Brand Strategy team, Niche executes marketing campaigns across the creator network alongside hundreds of leading brands and advertisers. For this campaign, the creative duo will create a series of Vines in the NESCAFÉ theme of #StartCreating that will launch this December.

The multifaceted video campaign from NESCAFÉ Philippines is geared towards the launch of the new NESCAFÉ RED MUG Machine, a convenient and easy-to-use appliance that prepares café-like concoctions for coffee aficionados in the comfort of their own homes.

With Periscope, people can participate in the live broadcast of coffee moments with local celebrity and newly appointed NESCAFÉ RED MUG brand ambassador, Raymond Gutierrez, leaving him comments and hearts as he introduces the new machine. Using the state-of-the-art coffee maker, Periscope viewers can learn a new coffee recipe from Raymond in real-time as he prepares his own version of the Vanilla Chilled Coffee at the event, as well as join Raymond and his friends in their holiday season games and celebrations.

"Digital video engagement is growing exponentially in the region and live video is a huge draw for today's mobile consumers," Steve Kalifowitz, Head of Brand Strategy, Asia Pacific, Middle East and North Africa, said. "It's great that NESCAFÉ is willing to innovate and provide a differentiated customer experience through videos with the launch of the RED MUG Machine."

"We are pleased to partner with Twitter for the launch of the new NESCAFÉ RED MUG machine to drive innovative experience,” said Donald Howat, Business Executive Manager for Coffee and Creamer Creations at NESTLE Philippines. “The NESCAFÉ RED MUG Machine is a key innovation to level up the coffee experience at home using NESCAFÉ CLASSIC and NESTLÉ COFFEE-MATE.

Twitter is an excellent partner to bring to life exciting moments to consumers. Periscope’s real-time broadcast amplified via Twitter will bring coffee enthusiasts much closer to experiencing the new NESCAFÉ RED MUG Machine so that, just like Raymond, they too can #StartCreating.”

Heads Up! Gary V for Novuhair: putting energy into prevention

Gary Valenciano "Mr. Pure Energy,” is the very image of youthful vibrance, whether onstage or not. That’s why it shouldn’t come as a surprise that he values the way he looks the same way that he values the core of who he is: a prayerful, faithful husband, dependable father, and an outstanding entertainer.

Part of what makes Gary stay young looking is his head of hair. What many people don’t know is that, like all other men his age, Gary once worried about hair thinning and hair loss. That’s why, at the first signs of the problem, Gary sought to find ways to prevent it from becoming worse.
“I first noticed the hair loss in the shower, after I toweled my hair dry. Then one day, my team of hairstylists noticed that my hair was thinning, too. That’s when they told me to look for the product that Fanny Serrano was using, a product called NOVUHAIR,” remarked Gary on his journey to regaining control over his hair loss.

NOVUHAIR is a topical scalp lotion that is a unique combination of 14 different natural ingredients and essential oils for a healthier hair and scalp. One of the factors of hair loss, according to studies, is stress, something that Gary experiences on almost a daily basis. Other factors include hereditary disorders, a persistent illness, major surgery, hormonal problems, childbirth & delivery, medications, infections, pollutants, and even excessive exposure to sunlight. And contrary to popular belief, hair loss is as much a problem for women as it is for men.

In many cases, hair loss may be prevented or alleviated through early detection. In the case of Gary, his decision to try NOVUHAIR to prevent his symptoms from worsening made a big difference, and within a few months, he saw remarkable results.
Gary shares his experience with NOVUHAIR as he tells the story of their family hair history:
“Hair loss runs in our family, too, even if it sometimes skips a generation. My brother and grandfather both lost their hair, but my dad still has a full head of hair at 87. I just wanted to make sure I take control of my symptoms. Now, I use NOVUHAIR everyday, and I’ve noticed that I don’t shed as much hair as I did before, especially after toweling my hair dry. And my hairstylists noticed it, too. I love using NOVUHAIR because it has this minty, cool effect that makes me feel like my hair is always clean and fresh.”
“In less than a month and half, I already saw results even if I was told to wait three to four months before I can see a difference. The effects on me were much faster. There were fewer strands on my white towel, which basically was within the normal boundaries of hair loss for an average person. Before using NOVUHAIR, I used to shed more.”

This is due to the fact that NOVUHAIR penetrates deep to help rejuvenate, nourish, & maintain moisture in the scalp and hair. By improving the blood circulation in the scalp, NOVUHAIR helps stimulate hair growth and aid in preventing further, excessive hair fall, while also improving the overall appearance of the hair.
“I never endorse a product that I did not experience first. I have to make sure it is really effective. With Novuhair, I can say that it has really contributed to my peace of mind and overall well-being. And, heads up, as Novuhair is now part of my daily routine, which includes prayer, diet, and medication. God has truly lived up to his promise in my life, and as he says in Psalm 92:14 ‘I will keep you fruitful even in old age. Fresh and green.’ I am very happy now that Novuhair is a part of that.”

NOVUHAIR, Nature’s Answer to Hair Loss is available in all Mercury Drug outlets, Watsons, Rose Pharmacy, South Star Drug & Manson Drug, Metro Gaisano Pharmacy, The Landmark (Makati & TriNoma), J Centre Mall (Cebu), KCC Malls (Gen. Santos City & Koronadal City), NCCC Malls (Palawan & Davao), Gaisano Malls (Davao & Gen. Santos City) and online at www.regaloservice.com and www.lazada.com.ph. Nothing can stop the spirit of giving this Christmas with Smart Padala PickUp Anywhere

"Padalapit" love this holiday

Nothing can stop the spirit of giving this Christmas with Smart Padala PickUp Anywhere

When Filipinos talk about Christmas, they immediately think about their families and how much they want to show their love to them during this occasion. This is the enduring sentiment especially for many Filipino households whose breadwinner is working in another city or country just to support the family.

No matter where they are, what they do or from whatever walks of life they come from, Filipinos will always go out of their way to show love come Christmas time.

Now with the enhanced Smart Padala service called PickUp Anywhere, Filipinos will find it easier and more convenient to send their love and continued support to their families.

Lawrence Ferrer
Smart Padala PickUp Anywhere allows the easiest, safest, and most convenient way to send and receive money to and within the Philippines, regardless of their mobile network. It is secure, safe, and guaranteed to be claimed only by the nominated mobile number.

According to Lawrence Ferrer, VicePresident of Smart eMoney, Smart Padala PickUp Anywhere makes it more convenient for customers to send remittances during the holiday rush.

“With PickUp Anywhere, both the money sender and the beneficiary don’t have to commute to a far location, brave the traffic, and line up at specific centers just to send or receive money. They have thousands of Smart Padala Centers nationwide to do the transaction,” he said.

Another great thing about this service is that people can send money to their beneficiaries regardless of mobile network. One can effectively send money via Smart Padala PickUp Anywhere to anyone with a mobile number in the Philippines.

“We want everyone, not just Smart subscribers, to enjoy the benefits and security features of this groundbreaking financial service enhancement,” said Ethel Ines, Brand Manager of Smart Padala. “Filipinos can conveniently send their Padala in time for the Christmas season,” she added.

Filipinos primarily send money to their families for basic needs. According to the National Baseline Survey on Financial Inclusion released by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) this year, 44% of Filipino adults had remittance transactions in the past six months and for those on the sending side, 91% sent to their families while 6% sent to their friends. On the other hand, for those who received remittances, 90% received from their families while 7% received from friends. Top line items for purposes of remittances receive is for food (71%), education (39%), medical expenses (28%) and emergencies (22%).

The same survey said that it takes Filipinos an average of 22 minutes to reach the nearest financial services provider. In terms of cost, the average roundtrip fare to reach a financial access point is PhP 43.

"By enhancing our Smart Padala service with PickUp Anywhere, we are enabling millions of more Filipinos to experience the benefits of financial technology when they need it the most, wherever they maybe,” Ferrer added.

Exciting Holiday Offerings at Orange Blush Salon

For the coming holiday season, Orange Blush salon welcomes clients with new promos and treats designed not only to pamper, but make sure they come out looking their best in this time of celebration.

Start your Orange Blush holiday treatments with the Brazilian Keratin treatment designed to bring life back to severely damaged hair with keratin as its main ingredient.

Keratin is the protein component of the hair, and makes it shiny, soft and healthy. When hair is regularly colored and treated, the natural keratin in our hair tends to be lost, and that’s when hair becomes dry, frizzy, damaged and unmanageable. Brazilian Keratin can get it looking normal and healthy again and bring your hair back to what it used to be.

“Brazilian Keratin contains the keratin needed to revive our hair's luster and softness after all the hair chemical processes. This is a revolutionary solution to most of our hair problems,” says Orange Blush salon owner Joby Linsangan-Moreno.

At the same time, clients can also avail of the salon’s other popular services such as the hair re-bonding, hair coloring and foot spa services to get into a holiday mood and get ready for all the partying that is sure to come.

Or if you’re tired and frazzled after shopping and trying to beat the holiday rush, you can treat yourself to a pampering day at the salon and feel better again.
Orange Blush salon owner Joby Linsangan-Moreno
At Orange Blush salon, they focus mostly on hair services, which they consider to be their main area of expertise. They are sought out for their haircutting, hair treatments, hair rebonding, hair straightening, hair coloring, and also their manicure and pedicure, foot spa and makeup.
“We have decided to concentrate in the hair services, less the facials and massage treatments that other salons usually offer along with the hair treatments,” says Joby.
The best thing about Orange Blush salon is that it has a warranty, a virtual guarantee that when a client leaves, you will do so feeling good about the time you spent there.

“The warranty means being responsible and accountable to do your very best at work, and to give your very best for your customers. That also means caring for the welfare of your customers, and that is what our warranty is all about; that we welcome our customer's concerns, and that it is our main purpose to exceed our customer's expectations,” explains Joby.

To make the holiday salon experience even more awesome, this year they are also giving away free Orange Blush Salon mugs to customers (with a minimum of P2,000 worth of salon services) as their Christmas treat.

Ultimately, though—and regardless of what time or season of the year it is—the Orange Blush experience is all about providing their clients with the best possible service.

Explains Joby:
“Since our services come with a warranty promise, our clients can be assured of the high quality and standards that we offer in our salon services; that we are responsible for the work we have done; and that we certainly care about our customers' concerns and feelings.”
One of the fastest-growing salon chains in Luzon, the Orange Blush salon (which first opened in 2003) is located in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija. But Joby discloses that plans for a 2016 expansion are already in place. It’s something that they started preparing for this year, and they’re quite excited about it.

“The coming year 2016 is a very exciting and promising year for Orange Blush Salon's expansion plans,” says Joby.
Our vision is to put up branches in Central Luzon area first, where we came from, and saturate it and become the best hair salon in the area; then move to conquer the metro, carrying with us that unique probinsiyano brand that we represent. We have laid the ground work and plans for expansion in 2015, and I can say that we shall strive to be more innovative in our processes and services, and shall continually strive to become the best in our field.”

DepEd holds National K to 12 Conference

“If yesterday I was celebrating with you what we have done, today I stand with great pride telling myself, "Ang sarap maging Pilipino. Pero mas masarap maging DepEd." Never in my life can I say that with conviction.” --- Br. Armin A. Luistro FSC
Department of Education (DepEd) Secretary Br. Armin A. Luistro FSC said during the culmination of the first National K to 12 Conference held at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), December 4.

The two-day conference gathered together almost 1,000 participants from DepEd regional and division offices nationwide to report the progress of various strategies employed for the promotion and implementation of the K to 12 Program, specifically the Senior High School (SHS), in their respective areas.
(R-L) Reaffirmation of Commitment. Education Secretary Br. Armin Luistro FSC, Undersecretary Dina Ocampo, Undersecretary Reynaldo Laguda, Assistant Secretary Tonisito Umali, and Undersecretary Rizalino Rivera together with DepEd officials nationwide pledged continued commitment in ensuring that no child shall be left behind.

During the conference, the participants provided updates on the region and division’s efforts in gearing up for the nationwide implementation of SHS come 2016.

Among the strategies highlighted in Luistro’s synthesis were the K to 12 caravans and unique approaches such as Teaching Strategy Festivals and Heroic Mobile Advocacy.

Luistro lauded the efforts of the all DepEd field offices in ensuring that no child shall be left behind. He said that because of the commitment of its education leaders nationwide, over “1.1 million Filipinos have included in their dreams a way of upgrading themselves” and pre-registered for the SHS in 2016.

“I told myself our DepEd leaders have now taken it unto themselves to take care of every learner. Wala na po malaking divide between public or private, nasa bayan o nasa bundok. You took care of all of them. You went out of your way, you went out of your Queendoms and your Kingdoms, and your Hives, so that you can promote and let people understand what K to 12 is all about,” he added.

The conference also provided an opportunity for education leaders to share good practices in building and strengthening partnerships with different organizations and institutions for the implementation of the SHS program.

“The solution to many of our nation's problems is in DepEd. You are the key players in changing the direction of where our country will go. You have proven that to yourselves, you have proven that to the country. You have shown that leadership is possible and that your leadership is credible,” he said.

“I prayed for a change of heart in DepEd and I realized, when I went through what you shared the past two days, that you have actually changed the image, the heart, and the culture within the Department. In fact, you have brought together, from limited resources, many initiatives that in the past I did not imagine DepEd is ready and willing to do,” Luistro said.

Bumper to Bumper XI holds successful car show event at SM MOA Concert Grounds

(Manila, Philippines) — Bumper to Bumper, the longest-running car show and automotive lifestyle event, happened on December 5 and 6 at the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds. Now on its 11th year, the multi-event happening featured the biggest production setup in any car show in Asia.

"Filipinos love car shows because we can relate to the cars we see. It is always a delight for us to see so many nice cars in one place. You can always see the excitement in people's eyes when they are in a car show and you also know deep inside that they feel inspired—that one day, they will also have these upgrades or these kind of rides in their garage," mused Jonathan Chio, CEO of Ladder Events Production.

Since 2005, Bumper to Bumper (B2B) has been bringing the car show not only to Manila but to 10 key cities, including Baguio, Batangas, Cebu, Davao, General Santos, Iloilo, Laguna, La Union, Pampanga, and Pangasinan. It is the only local car show known to do so, in its pursuit to bring the best of the best automotive mods across the Philippines.

Chio furthered, "Bumper to Bumper Car Show is like a theme park of sorts, a theme park for car enthusiasts. We have a wide array of vehicles on display, we have full blown entertainment to fill in your time, and we have unique activities all the time during the event."

The event usually attracts a crowd of 70,000 car enthusiasts and spectators. This year promised to be bigger and better. Activities included a two-division (Pro and Street category) car show competition, off-road vehicle display competition, engine roar competition, drive-in movie, dance showdown, concert, and Sneaker Fever Manila for those who love kicks.

"There are so many things B2B has done to our market. A lot of shops that does not have big budgets for bigger shows were known to have started in our car shows. We have given work opportunities to our car show models. Our event has served as a playground for aspiring photographers and bloggers. But more importantly, a lot of long lasting-friendships were born in our events," said Chio.

Exciting events to look forward to in 2016 include the B2B Car Show Sinulog in January; "Hot Import Nights V Manila” to be held at Metro Tent, Metrowalk on April 23 and 24; “Hot Import Nights Davao” to be held at The Peak in Davao City; and the first-ever Race Wars Unlimited Philippines.

Bumper to Bumper XI was presented by B2BCarshow.com, Total Excellium, PenserQ Multimedia Company, Repsol Motor Oils, No Fear Apparel, Task Us, SM Mall of Asia, and Chevrolet Philippines, among others.
