The Mindanao island in the Philippines’ archipelago first made a strong entry into the CNT choice lists after being voted Best Island In Asia in the 2018 Readers’ Choice Awards, along with Boracay and Palawan.

In the gallery of photos for “The 19 Best Places to Go in 2019” published on December 4, CNT editor Megan Spurrell likened Siargao to “Boracay before everyone found out—and better managed.” Boracay was once the most favored island destination in the world but was closed for rehabilitation after suffering the effects of overtourism. Boracay reopened on October 26 to international travelers after being certified for compliance in environmental standards.

MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions/Events) Conference, the largest gathering of local and international MICE industry experts and practitioners, was successfully mounted this year in Bacolod. Organized by the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB), the marketing arm of the Department of Tourism (DOT), MICECON 2018 featured educational talks from world-class experts. TPB uses MICECON to strengthen the country’s reputation as the preferred MICE destination in Asia.

Coco Martin and Angel Locsin invite ‘Samahang Solb’ to Mang Inasal

ColorManila, held colorfully celebration of its 7th anniversary, through a colorful Safari journey at Color Manila Run Year 7 with Safari theme this January 6 at SM Mall of Asia Grounds, Pasay City.

ColorManila Run Year 7, took runners to Safari-themed and color-blasted 200-meter, 3K, 5K, 10K, and 21K routes. 

True to its tradition of allowing people to go all-out fun and festive instead of going home right after the run, ColorManila Run Year 7 definitely brought everybody  
New Year cheer through its signature CM Festival, featuring a DJ filling the entire venue with groove-inducing tracks while participants put on their party hats, shove in their dancing shoes, and splatter color powders in the air for a holistic after-party affair.

A sequel to Walt Disney’s 1964 classic, Mary Poppins, the world’s favorite magical nanny is back and will surely drive us again to an adventure of a lifetime.

Set in the 1930’s London, Mary Poppins Returns follows the now-adults Jane (Jane Mortimer) and Michael Banks (Ben Whishaw) together with Michael’s children as they face a personal loss and a family problem. In the time the family needs her the most, Mary Poppins (Emily Blunt) is back to the rescue to help the family and cope with the most difficult time of their lives.

Another new film to open our 2019 is the latest movie offering from the Transformers’ franchise focusing on the adventures of one of the most favorite Autobots, Bumblebee!

A prequel movie set in 1987, B-127 also known as Bumblebee, is on the run after a civil war in their home planet, Cybertron. Bumblebee crashed in California and was found by Charlie Watson (Hailee Steinfeld) under a yellow Volkswagen Beetle disguise. Discovering that Bumblebee is not just an ordinary car, Charlie will help Bumblebee on his mission to protect Earth from Decepticons.
