Earl Christian Lantin and Sherlyn Tarroquin reign supremely in Catwalk Philippines 2025


Earl Christian Lantin and Sherlyn Tarroquin were proclaimed as the male and female victors in this year’s Catwalk Philippines 2025 modelling competition that happened at the Sky Dome, in Quezon City.

The dynamic duo of supermodels nailed and slayed the swimwear and resort wear, luxe wear by MICHAELA, haute couture and posing categories of the modelling competition.


“This journey has transformed me. It opened my eyes to the diversity and depth of the industry,” Lantin said. “As someone who started as an aspiring model, I learned that modeling is not just about looks or skills it’s about character, humility, and how you treat the people around you.”


The 21-year-old Lipeño, said about his victory: “Winning the title was something I never expected. From a hesitant dreamer to a grand winner, this has been nothing short of a blessing. This victory isn’t just mine it belongs to everyone who believes in me. To the organization that guided and supported me, to my friends and fellow finalists who became part of my journey—thank you. I am deeply grateful.”

A proud Catandunganon, 20-year-old Tarroquin said: “I am deeply honored and overwhelmed with gratitude to be name as the Female Grand Winner for this year’s Catwalk Philippines. This journey has been a humbling yet empowering experience. It still feels surreal, I walked into this with hope, and low expectations — and to walk out as the Grand Winner is beyond what I imagined.”


“It has been a truly transformative experience,” said the senior accountancy student. “It pushed me to step beyond my comfort zone, find my inner confidence, and constantly strive for improvement. It open doors for mentorship, industry exposure and deeper sense of self-discovery for which I am truly grateful.”


Tarroquin ended: “It is a truly meaningful space where emerging talents like me can grow, thrive and be seen. Every walk, pose, and rehearsal taught me about respect, grace, and authenticity that I will surely carry with me on every step of the journey ahead.”

Catwalk Philippines is the country’s premiere modelling search, produced and organized by First Sun Production, with MICHAELA as the main presenter, in partnership with the Designers Circle Philippines.

Event Director and Producer, Rodel Mercado said: “Catwalk Philippines was more than just a competition—it was a tribute to passion, purpose, and growth. Reflecting on five months of preparation, the journey was about building a fair, transparent platform where aspiring models are empowered to rise with integrity.”

“With the support of Designers Circle Philippines, the commitment to bring back the true essence of modeling competitions—where skill, discipline, and attitude matter just as much as beauty,” Mercado added.

Trisha Mae Calabita, Psalm Francisco, Aia Kielle Lopez, Angeline Manait, Daniella Moustafa, Carmela Roxas and Nicole Tilap inched their way to the top 8 female contenders.

Their male counterparts were Samie Al-Ajarmeh, Kirby Chen, Jairus Culalic, Mohammad Rayhan Datu, Nico Dimaano, Timothy Lusabio and Neshiero Macawili.

Special awardees were: Jenelle Odiame, Most Photogenic Award (Female) and Timothy Lusabio, Most Photogenic Award (Male); Best in Swim wear (Female) – Carmela Roxas and Best in Swim wear (Male) – Jairus Culalic; Best in Couture (Female) - Nicole Tilap Best in Couture (Male) – Timothy Lusabio; Face of Heseneya (Female) – Aia Lopez and Face of Heseneya (Male) – Jairus Culalic.

Modelling competition presenter MICHAELA, their bags were showcased in the Luxe Wear segment. They also proclaimed Aia Lopez and Timothy Lusabio as their newest brand ambassadors.

Special guest performers were Rian Kyle Aragon, John Kenneth Fukuhara and from the Sparkle Artist Center, newest PPop boy band Cloud 7.

Hosts were Angela Okol (Miss Manila Tourism 2023) with Ignis Novus artists Caleb Alvarez and Charles Dion.

Striking a pose for magazine covers and fashion campaigns and editorials, becoming the faces and personas of brands, gracing the runway of local and international designers - Christian Lantin and Sherlyn Tarroquin, lights, camera, catwalk, fashion, their super model career and reign begins.

Davao’s top designers showcase 100-piece collection for the Benefit of the Weaving Communities of b.LOOM Project


Members of the Davao Fashion and Design Council Foundation Inc. (DFDCI) recently presented a 100-piece collection during The Stellar Fashion Gala, a fundraising charity event for the benefit of b.LOOM Project’s weaving communities in partnership with Mindanao Trade Expo Foundation, Inc. (MTEFI).

Held at the luxurious Samal Grand Ballroom at Discovery Samal in Davao, the Luxe Resort collection highlighted the use of Philippine tropical fabrics–abaca, bandala, piña, banana, kawayarn and other textiles–produced alongside DOST- Philippine Textile Research Institute by designers such as Aztec Barba, Dodjie Batu, Emi Englis, Popoy Barba, Edgar Buyan, Egay Ayag, Windel Mira, and Benjie Panizales.

The Stellar Fashion Gala was more than just an ultra-chic evening of distinctly Philippine fabrics. It was an unforgettable labor of love which showed the launch of the b.LOOM Project, DFDCFI’s initiative to reframe the Davao artisanal weaving brand by realigning to the country’s perceived fashion niche in view of design identity and regenerative sustainability. The b.LOOM Project is a global artisanal brand manifesting DFDCFI’s distinctive Davao niche in fashion beyond the loom.

Proceeds from the event went to the b.LOOM Project’s Sustainable Enterprise Program on Indigenous and Emerging Artisanal Textile Weaving among Davao Region’s Extra-Mile Creative Communities. The Mindanao Trade Expo Foundation, Inc. (MTEFI) played an integral role in ensuring deserving communities were identified and the donation was adequately distributed.

Recognized for its active participation in renowned events such as Miss Universe, Manila FAME, and other various fashion festivals, DFDCFI serves as a beacon of creativity and innovation in the region.

Global apparel retailer UNIQLO has lined up big things for the much-anticipated reopening of its groundbreaking SM Mall of Asia (MOA) store on May 17, 2024 at the Level 2 & 3 of Mall of Asia’s North main mall.

Redefined store

UNIQLO’s original MOA store is finally set to open its doors once more after major updates. The newly revamped store comes with a bigger space and larger offerings.

The branch opened in 2012 as the global brand’s very first store in the Philippines, introducing Filipinos to UNIQLO’s stylish and functional everyday clothing. With its sprawling 1,550 square meters at that time, the store served thousands of customers in the largest mall in the country and remained as one of the go-to hubs for LifeWear.

On May 17, the all-new UNIQLO MOA store promises to be even bigger with a doubled-up floor space of over 3,000 square meters spread across two floors. Loyal and new customers alike will surely enjoy the store’s new layout and latest presentations, as the space evolves with the new lifestyles of Filipinos.

Redefined experiences

Aside from featuring a vast selection of LifeWear pieces, the all-new UNIQLO MOA store will also redefine the retail experience where in-store and online shopping comes hand-in-hand. The all-new UNIQLO MOA store will also be the second store in the country to have UNIQLO Coffee and UTMe! Originally only available at UNIQLO Manila Global Flagship Store in Glorietta 5, UNIQLO Coffee and UTme! is coming to the MOA store to delight coffee lovers and art lovers, respectively.

UNIQLO Coffee in the Philippines presents locally sourced, high-quality coffee beans from Mt. Apo, and features goods and pastries that mix Filipino and Japanese flavors.

Meanwhile, the UTme! service lets customers customize shirts and tote bags with various designs from its library or their own creations and images. To celebrate the new opening, UNIQLO is expanding its UTme! line-up with new designs in collaboration with partners from the local community.

realme combines tech and style in collaboration with local fashion brand Straightforward

Tech meets fashion as realme and local lifestyle brand, Straightforward, collaborate to showcase how the performance and design of the realme 12 Series 5G complement the boundless style of Straightforward in a series of engaging activities poised to set new trends.

During a collaborative fashion shoot, realme and Straightforward worked together to create masterful portraits where the realme 12 Pro+ 5G and the realme 12+ 5G accentuated the effortlessly chic outfits curated by Straightforward.

Set against the dynamic cityscape as backdrop, every detail of the outfits was perfectly captured by the crystal clear 64MP Periscope Portrait Camera and 50MP Sony LYT600 OIS Camera of the realme 12 Pro+ 5G and realme 12+ 5G, respectively. A closer look at Michelle Dee's cut-out gown by internationally renowned fashion designer Mark Bumgarner, bedecked with 30,000 Swarovski crystals.

Michelle Dee and Mark patterned her preliminaries gown from Melanie’s winning look from Miss International 1979. The emerald green color was inspired by Melanie Marquez

Crafted by Mark Bumgarner, the gown sparkled with thousands of Swarovski crystals, while the deep green pays homage to her advocacy for autism and also serves as a heartfelt tribute to her mother, Melanie Marquez, adding layers of meaning and personal connection to this stunning creation.

Delving more into the intricacies of the design, Mark added, “The evening gown is fully encrusted with three shades of emerald green Swarovski crystals and contrasted black [ones] to give it a different dimension under the light. Overall, the dress is covered with thousands of crystals.”

Further integrating Melanie’s legacy of movement that forms into the letter S, Michelle decided to take it further by owning the snake symbol. “I wanted it to look like the skin of a green viper,” the designer pointed out. “It is a symbol of power, transformation, and wisdom.”
