Electrolux challenges women to change the way they do laundry at the FashionCare Season 2 Launch

Electrolux Philippines hosted Timeless Style: The FashionCare Season 2 Launch Party last August 30, 2018, at Whitespace Manila, Chino Roces Ext., Makati.City.

At the FashionCare Season 2 Launch Party, Electrolux Ambassador Rajo Laurel and FashionCare Council Members Amina Aranaz-Alunan and Janice Villanueva challenge women to change their ideas about caring for their timeless pieces of clothing.

Washing machines have become a reliable partner of many Filipino households in doing their laundry as it saves more time than washing by hand. Yet when it comes to caring for clothes, many women still have trust issues when it comes to their washing machines. That is the concern that Electrolux seeks to address as it launched the second season of its FashionCare Campaign, which seeks to change the way women do their laundry.

Laundry Woes

To find out more about women’s laundry woes, Electrolux Philippines conducted a research in partnership with Mommy Mundo, one of the country’s leading mom communities. When asked about what fabrics they were afraid to wash using their washing machine, 67% of the respondents say that they are afraid to machine wash their silk clothing, followed by delicate wear (52%), cashmere (40%), and wool (39%).

Among the top reasons why women hesitate to put their clothes in washing machines are more than half of them (58%) think it might ruin the clothes, while some think that machine wash can cause fabric shrinkage (17%) or fading of colours (4%).

When it comes to doing laundry, women worry about more than just cleaning. Fabric care remains one of the unfulfilled needs of women as 77% of them look for fabric care features when they buy washing machines, and among their top 3 laundry concerns are pilling of clothes or what we call himulmol, stubborn stains and misshaping of clothes – two of which are related to caring for the fabric.

The FashionCare Challenge

With women’s laundry concerns in mind, Electrolux created the UltimateCare™ range of washing machines, designed to help women care for their clothes.

At the FashionCare Season 2 Premiere Party, Electrolux Philippines FashionCare Ambassador Rajo Laurel and FashionCare Council Members Amina Aranaz-Alunan and Janice Villanueva put the UltimateCare™ washer dryer to the test as they challenged Electrolux to wash their designer dress, silk scarf and wool jacket, respectively.

The FashionCare Council themselves demonstrated how to use Electrolux UltimateCare washer-dryers, proving how easy and convenient they are to use, and how effective they are in keeping your clothes clean, fresh and vibrant.

Amina Aranaz-Alunan, founder, executive director and teacher of SoFA Design Institute, and Creative Director of fashion accessories and bag label ARANÁZ, was pleased to find that her silk scarf was just as colourful after washing as when she bought it.

“I could keep using this over and over again thanks to Electrolux’s UltimateCare™ washer dryer which has features that care for delicate pieces and keeps them looking new and vibrant,” shared Amina during the event.

Meanwhile, Janice Villlanueva, successful mompreneur and founder of Mommy Mundo, was initially apprehensive about ruining her wool jacket, but found it undamaged and soft to the touch after the washing and drying was finished.

“I used to hand wash wool sweaters like this one because I was afraid it would get stretched out of shape. So I’m excited that the Electrolux’s UltimateCare™ washer dryer can safely wash woollen items and make sure they look their best,” Janice said.

Rajo Laurel, renowned fashion designer and Electrolux FashionCare Ambassador, was sure that his designer dress would come out of the wash unscathed.

“I know that Electrolux understands how important our clothes are to us, and I’m grateful for it. I feel safe knowing that my clothes are in good hands with Electrolux’s UltimateCare™ washing machines,” shared Rajo.

Designed to care for clothes

Electrolux is confident that its latest range of washing machines would rise to the challenge as its UltimateCare™ washing machines comes with UltraMix™ technology to help women not only get better stain removal but better fabric care, helping them retain the colour, shape, and softness of their clothes from delicate wear to designer pieces.

The UltraMix™ technology gives women the results of a hot wash for better stain and dirt removal, yet uses a lower, gentler temperature. Detergent and water are pre-mixed in a special chamber before the beginning of the cycle to maximize cleaning power at a lower temperature. It delivers deeper clean and 31% better colour care, to ensure your favorites look newer for longer.

Besides the powerful yet gentle cleaning of UltraMix™, Electrolux UltimateCare™ washing machines extend the life of clothes with Vapour Action, designed to soften fabric while reducing allergens by up to 99.9% that’s gives women the assurance of better care for your clothes for years to come. The Woolmark certified cycle approved by the Woolmark Company, the global authority on wool, will safely launder these precious garments.

Electrolux UltimateCare™ washing machines also has Eco Inverter technology that offers high energy efficiency that reduces energy consumption by 75% and save time by 44%. Women can also enjoy the flexibility and convenience to toss in forgotten items during the washing cycle with add clothes feature.

“For today’s modern woman, clothes are a way of expressing herself, which is why she doesn’t trust washing machines with her priceless pieces of clothing. But we at Electrolux want to share that now, there is a washing machine that cares for your clothes as much as you do,” shared Andrea Soto-Pionilla, Country Marketing Manager of Electrolux. “With the FashionCare Campaign, Electrolux wants to introduce a better way of taking care of our machine wash-sensitive clothes. With the Electrolux UltimateCare™ washing machines, you not only get cleaning, but fabric care that makes clothes look newer for longer.”

In line with its FashionCare campaign, Electrolux is offering several great deals on its washing machines, with offers up to 25% off on selected front load washing machines and washer- dryers. Women can also avail of selected Electrolux Front Load Washing Machines and get 25% off on an Electrolux Front Load Dryer. Electrolux shares baon-making tips for moms

With the school year starting, it’s back to worrying about whether to prepare packed meals for your child or just provide more allowance for food. Undoubtedly, letting them eat out is more time-saving and convenient. But while it’s a tempting option, doing this regularly is expensive and unhealthy.

As such, health experts often advise to make home-cooked meals - but of course, cooking at home is much easier said than done. It takes time and effort to create delicious and nutritious baon for kids, especially if yours are picky eaters. So to help you create healthy and yummy meals for their kids as the school year starts, here are some tips from Electrolux Philippines.

Here’s an easy way to get kids to eat their veggies – make veggie kebabs!

Plan your meals

Although it may seem tedious at first, meal planning is one of the best ways to save money and be more efficient at cooking.

Start by making an inventory of everything in your refrigerator and pantry. By knowing what you currently have, you can determine what meals to make, or what additional ingredients to buy. It’s wiser to pick recipes based on common ingredients, or things you can easily get from the store.

Planning meals are vital to your kids’ healthy diet so remember to choose balanced recipes with a good mix of carbohydrates, fats and proteins. Interactive tools like meal planning applications and websites can also help make this task easier to manage by helping you create grocery lists, choose recipes, and track your children’s’ calorie intake.

Get creative with veggies

Make the most out of leftovers by making One-Pot Pasta meals.
Throw in remaining ingredients such as onions, tomatoes, and other vegetables to a pan,
then add the pasta, olive oil, and other seasonings to your taste. Be creative!

It’s no secret that most kids aren’t fond of their greens. One way to get your kids to eat vegetables is by using creative preparation and presentation - like making vegetarian sushi. Combine all kinds of vegetables or fruits with rice and seasoning to create tasty sushi rolls. Another way to serve veggies is to turn them into kebabs. By marinating and grilling them with herbs, garlic, and balsamic glaze, your veggies can achieve a deliciously tangy taste. Place them on skewers with some chicken or shrimp and you have a healthy lunch!

Healthy switches

Instead of buying packaged sweets and chips, give your kids sandwiches like peanut butter with sliced fruits, or grilled chicken & cheese with lettuce and tomatoes. Not only are they healthier, but more filling and satisfying as well. If you want variation from regular burgers, try switching the meat patties to tuna. It’s incredibly simple and cheap to make using canned tuna—not to mention, it’s also packed with nutritious omega 3, iron, and potassium.

As for drinks, you may opt to switch packaged beverages with homemade juices. Freshly made juices do not have added preservatives, sugars, and artificial flavoring. Just make sure you have a juicer or blender handy then get your kids to pick out what fruit blend they want for the day!

Let nothing go to waste

Making extra servings can actually help you save a lot of time since you no longer need to go through the lengthy prep time before every meal. You can easily store extra servings in the refrigerator or freezer to preserve their freshness, then heat them up when needed.

And don’t forget about leftovers! To make use of leftover ingredients, try making One Pot Meals – meals such as stews or pasta that you can make by putting together all your ingredients in one pot. The great thing about One Pot Meals is that you can be as creative as you like as long as the ingredients can complement each other. If you still have unused ingredients such as onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, or mushrooms, you can chop them up then put them in a pan. Afterwards, add the pasta, pour olive oil and season everything to taste.

The Electrolux 520L NutriFresh™ Inverter Refrigerator has the capacity to keep your fruits and vegetables fresh and nutritious 7 days longer than the average refrigerator.

With the Electrolux NutriFresh™ Refrigerator, you can keep your fruits and veggies fresh for long a time so you can make healthy shakes and juices for your kids’ baon to school!

Have the right kitchen appliances

When it comes to food preparation and cooking, Electrolux offers a wide variety of kitchen appliances to suit your every need.

If you’re worried about how long your leftovers or ingredients will last in storage, the Electrolux NutriFresh™ Inverter Refrigerator EHE5220AA can go a long way in helping you prevent food spoilage. Since it’s equipped with technology that stabilizes temperature, deodorizes, and minimizes water loss, fruits and vegetables can stay fresh for up to a week. It also lessens utility costs because of its energy saving features.

The Electrolux 30L Table Top Microwave with Grill and Convection is a 4-in-1 cooking appliance that is a perfect fit for smaller kitchens.

If you live in a condo or apartment with a smaller kitchen, the Electrolux Tabletop Microwave Oven with Grill & Convection EMS3087X is the right fit for you. This 4-in-1 appliance combines the convenience of a microwave and the performance of an oven, grill and even a steamer, which allows you to prepare different types of dishes so your kids won’t get tired of the same old thing.

The Electrolux 68 L Built-In Oven allows you to grill, bake, or roast food, with plenty of room to cook multiple dishes at the same time.

For something bigger but just as versatile, you can use the Electrolux Built-In Oven EOB2200BOX to bake, grill, and roast food. It comes with the InfiSpace™ feature that can extend the 68-litre capacity to a 74-litre capacity to give you plenty of room to cook multiple dishes in one go. It also comes with an enamel coating that repels grease and dirt, making it easier to clean.

The Electrolux 60cm Built-in Induction Hob takes less time and energy
to cook your favorite dishes.

If you’re looking for a convenient way to cook, you can use the Electrolux Built-in Induction Hob EHED63CS. Induction is faster and uses much less energy than other cooking technologies because it heats the cookware directly while the cooktop remains cool in the process, making it safe to touch and easy to clean – perfect for creating delicious dishes in less time and with less fuss.

Although preparing packed meals at home can seem tiresome and overwhelming, the long term pay-off is worth it. Not only is it more nutritious for your child, but more cost-friendly as well. Cooking isn’t always easy, but with a bit of practice, time, and guidance, you’ll eventually see that there are plenty of ways to be creative and efficient when it comes to making baon everyday!

Don’t Let Your Electricity Bill Soar This Summer, Check out these energy savings tips from Electrolux

The heat is on as we get ready for another scorching hot summer with beach outings, ice cream desserts and movie dates. But for days spent at home, summer means our air conditioners will be working longer and harder to keep us cool and comfortable.

To manage your electricity bill, try these smart energy saving tips from Electrolux.

1. Maximize natural light

The sun might be extra hot during summer, but without rain clouds covering the sky, it also provides light that you can use to your advantage. Arrange your space to let the light in – keep your windows unblocked, use mirrors to reflect light to strategic places and use light-colored fabrics on your pillows and upholstery. You don’t need light fixtures in every corner of your house to keep it bright and colorful this summer.

2. Unplug and get rid of phantom load

Unplugging electrical devices is an easy yet effective way to reduce energy consumption. Leaving appliances plugged in after turning them off causes them to switch to standby mode, which still uses electricity. This is called “phantom load” and can cost you up to PHP 270 per kilowatt hour a month according to the Department of Energy. By simply remembering to turn off and unplug your appliances, you can save a significant amount of money and electricity.

3. Set a timer

Keeping your home cool and comfy can be difficult during the summer, so air conditioners are a must. But this doesn’t mean that your electricity bill has to suffer. Air conditioner timers are a convenient way to save energy. Set your air conditioner timer to turn on and off at times of your choosing to maximize its cooling effect and minimize energy consumption.

4. Condition your air conditioner

Air conditioners rarely run at peak efficiency due to improper maintenance. Make cleaning your air conditioner a routine to keep it in pristine condition. Easy maintenance such as cleaning the air filters once every two months keeps your air conditioning unit from clogging up and blocking all that cool air. Have your air conditioner checked by a technician at least once a year to ensure it continues to operate at optimal levels. Electrolux’s Customer Care Hotline is open weekdays from 9 AM to 5 PM to help you keep your appliances running smoothly. Call 1-800-10-845-CARE (2273) or email wecare@electrolux.com for any questions or inquiries.

5. Switch to inverter technology

Inverter technology allows appliances to be more powerful while being more energy efficient at the same time. Inverter air conditioners use environment-friendly refrigerants and regulate temperature while minimizing energy consumption and noise. Electrolux’s Vita Inverter Split Type Air Conditioner is easy to use and keeps your home cool and clean by being eco-friendly and energy efficient. It chills the room quickly with its Turbo Function which enables it to reach the preset temperature in the shortest amount of time. It also clears dust particles and bacteria-causing elements in the air with its Active Plasma and HD Filter. The Vita Air Conditioner also comes with a user-friendly remote control and has a self-diagnose function that makes it convenient to identify and fix issues so maintenance won’t be an issue.

A Healthier You for the New Year : Keep that resolution for a Healthy New You this 2018 with these tips from Electrolux Philippines

The New Year is usually the time when we resolve to start living a healthier lifestyle, especially after indulging during the holiday season. But resolutions are easier said than done – just as gym memberships rise at the start of the year, they tend to drop off after a few months.

Promising that you will start eating and living healthy is easy but actually doing it long term is much harder. So how can we make it easier to commit to a healthy new you? Electrolux is here to give us a few tips on how we can get started on that healthier lifestyle – and stick to it!

Get someone on board

Get someone close to you to join you in your workouts and diets - like a friend, relative or your husband. The company will make it more fun and you’ll have someone to bond with over the process. Having a support system is one way to keep you on track when it comes to your goals.

Start Small

Overdoing things in the beginning, especially if this is your first time trying to eat healthy or doing regular exercise, will make changes hard to maintain. Start with small changes in your diet, like incorporating vegetables in your regular meals. Slowly remove processed food from your refrigerator and cabinets. Start with short jogging sessions once a week then gradually increase in frequency. Eventually, you will get more comfortable as these small tasks turn into habits. This is your cue to go a level higher in your diet and workouts.

Begin your day with protein

You’ve most likely heard of the saying “breakfast is the most important meal of the day”. Time to listen to it as doing so is proven to lessen cravings and hunger pangs throughout the day, so you’ll be less tempted to indulge in carbs and sugary food.

Start with 25-30 grams of protein for breakfast every day. Some healthy ingredients you can include in your morning meals are fruits, vegetables, eggs, and sweet potatoes. Try mixing oats with yoghurt and your choice of fruits and leaving them overnight in the freezer or be adventurous with more unusual ingredients like peanut butter and jelly oats.

For a more savoury meal you can create a sweet potato, black bean, and egg white breakfast burrito. Just wrap everything together and you have a quick, easy and healthy meal.

Load up on fruits and vegetables

A diet that involves more fruit and vegetable intake is always recommended. Keep in mind that your body still requires protein, so what you can do is add more vegetables to meat-based dishes. Make beef and broccoli stir-fry or prepare a turkey taco lettuce wrap that uses lettuce as a substitute for taco shells. Another idea is adding fruits, egg, or a little meat to salads to add more flavor or create your own protein shake using various fruits.

You can also opt to eat fruits or veggies for snacks instead of the usual chips, cookies, chocolates, and other processed food. If you want more flavor, eat your veggie slices with guacamole or spinach dips.
Ensure you’ll always have a ready stash of fresh fruits and vegetables with the Electrolux NutriFresh Inverter Refrigerator. It’s equipped with the FreshShield Crisper, which has a unique tight seal that keeps temperatures stable, minimizes water loss and provides higher humidity, which allows fruits and vegetables to stay market-fresh for up to 7 days.

It also attracts and absorbs stray odors as well and eliminates 99.8% of bacteria through its FreshTaste Deodorizer.
