Luigi D’Avola, new talent for 2013 to be introduce by Mecca Music’s Champ Lui Pio

Luigi D’Avola (pronounced as Da-vola) is getting ready for the limelight as his first single, “Take A Chance"-- saccharine, bubble-gum pop track that speaks about moving way beyond limits— debuts atop the radio lists.
After his very successful venture into artist management, former Hale frontman Champ Lui Pio, now CEO of Mecca Music, proudly announces the launch of Luigi D'Avola-- a fresh new face and talent who brings more to the entertainment world than just music.

“At Mecca Music, we take pride in producing and managing our artists. It’s a process that we put a lot of time and hard work. We really invest in our artists and make sure we guide them to reach their full potential. Luigi is a testament to that commitment, we are very excited to launch his music which we have worked on for almost a year now. We believe that he will break grounds in the music industry this 2013.” Lui Pio said

“Take a Chance” music video have already pleased thousands of teenage girls on his YouTube debut which collected 20,000 views in three weeks (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cfLPYGkiyy4) and sent Luigi on MYX Channel Pinoy MYX Countdown’s top 15 in just two weeks.

Following up on the success of Mecca Music’s talent Somedaydream, Lui Pio signs D’Avola with a debut album slated March of 2013. D’Avola a budding star in his own right, having worked with the likes of multi-awarded sound engineer Angee Rozul and Monty Macalino of Mayonnaise while completing his album says he was immediately drawn to Lui Pio’s “determination and passion for music.”

“Here’s a small dream to finally making it bigger than I wished for,” D’Avola said, taking a leap, crossing boundaries and pushing the limits while still staying true to himself. Coming from a family of musicians, D’Avola is the brother of Urbandub’s lead vocalist Gabby Alipe.

Eighteen-year-old and hails from Cebu, D’Avola was first introduced through SMART Telecomm’s LIVE MORE campaign with a music video for the song “It’s Your Life” joining Somedaydream and Lui Pio. Currently, D’Avola is doing live performances across Metro Manila with a growing fan base on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter.

Lui Pio shares, “My mission is to uplift the quality of music in the country, to introduce new and fresh music. I want to excite music lovers out there and to challenge the norm. Managing and producing is very personal to me, I want my artists to share the same passion for music.”
After Mecca Music’s success since 2011, Lui Pio himself has proven that he has the talent and ear to craft a hit record. Somedaydream became one of the fastest rising artists since his debut in 2011 with the commercially acclaimed song “Hey Daydreamer” capping up projects with Selecta’s Cornetto, Coke, Yamaha and SMART.

Recently, Somedaydream was awarded as 2012 MYX Music Awards’ Favorite Celebrity VJ; 25th Awit Awards’ Most Downloaded Song and Most downloaded Ring Back Tone for “Hey Daydreamer”; and RX 93.1’s Song of the Year for the song “Sing This Song.”

Gloc 9's Sirena already on the top spot of MYX Daily countdown

In just three days, Gloc 9's Sirena already topped the MYX countdown. "Sirena" is a song which tackles gay issues. The track wants to create a social awareness about the struggles of a gay person in our society. The music video shows that gays are being discriminated. In which some parents beat down their gay children because they can't accept them.

With the help of Ebe Dancel's vocals, the track's chorus becomes more powerful. The chorus, "Ako'y isang sirena, Kahit anong sabihin nila ako ay ubod ng ganda, Ako'y isang sirena, Kahit anong gawin nila bandera ko'y di tutumba, Drum na may tubig ang sinisisid, Naglalakihang mga braso, sa'kin dumidikdik, Drum na may tubig ang sinisisid, Sa patagalan ng paghinga, sa'kin kayo ay bibilib", indicates gays to be more strong even though they are being discriminated because they can do all the hardships.

Gloc 9 is very proud with his new single because he worked very hard on this song not to offend anyone and this is his very first time to make a song about a gay man and to present it in a first person's point of view. [source]

Boy Abunda, one of the successful gays in the country also participated in the music video. Abunda's participation in the music video makes it more pro-gay.

Gloc 9's Sirena will touch your heart especially in the part in which his father finally accepted his gay son and said, "Anak, patawad sana sa lahat ng aking nagawa, Di sinusukat ang tapang at ang bigote sa mukha, Dahil kung minsan mas lalake pa sa lalake ang bakla" (Forgive me son for all the wrong things I've done. Courage and mustache is not the true measures [of being a man] because sometimes gays are more man than a man.)

Sirena will surely topped the MYX Pinoy Countdown and MYX Hitchart next week replacing I'll be There by Julie Anne San Jose on both charts.

"Sirena" is Gloc 9's first single of his new album "MKNM: Mga Kwento ng Makata", under Universal Records. It is also his first album under Universal Records.

The track "Sirena" is a siren to stop the discrimination against gay persons. Gloc 9 once again created a masterpiece on this song after Upuan and Walang Natira. The song Upuan tackles the incumbent officials on the government while the track Walang Natira tackles the sudden migration of Filipinos to work overseas and earn a living there leaving their family here.

Gloc 9 should be dubbed "The Rizal of Rapping" because he wants his listeners to be enlightened like what Rizal did on his two novels, Noli me Tangere and El Filibusterismo.
