The Philsteel Group announces new websites

January 26, 2019, Makati City -- Pioneering flat steel products manufacturer Philsteel recently announced the launch of four (4) new websites; one for its holdings company and three for its manufacturing companies.

The new sites are available at the following URLs:

Philsteel Holdings Corporation: www.philsteelgroup.com
Philmetal Products, Inc.: www.philmetal.com.ph
Premier Shelter Products, Inc.: www.premiershelter.com.ph
Steel Corporation of the Philippines: www.steelcorp.com.ph

With these new websites, customers and partners in the construction industry will have access to more information about the companies, its products and services, and allow visitors to easily navigate from the Philsteel Holdings website to any of the subsidiary websites and vice versa.

Philsteel is the only Filipino steel company that has been recognized by international award-giving bodies for product excellence, including the International Asia Award for Quality (1988, Hong Kong and 1989, London) and the Quality Summit Award in New York , winning the Gold Award for Product Excellence in 2014.

Philsteel started out in 1979 by establishing Philippine Steel Coating Corporation through a joint venture with then two of Australia’s leading industrial manufacturing names: John Lysaght Australia Ltd. (JLA) and Australia Mining and Smelting Company. This venture resulted in the first continuous galvanizing line in the country.

Spurred by the vision of producing economical and durable building materials comparable to the world’s best, Philsteel established Philmetal Products, Inc. in 1989. Premier Shelter Products was created in the year 2000 to support the Group’s sales in areas outside Philmetal’s scope, notably in the provinces outside NCR and Metro Cebu.

Both Philmetal and Premier Shelter are now engaged in roll-forming, slitting, shearing and fabrication of metal building products and systems such as roofing, cladding, floor decking, steel framing system and a host of steel sections and bended accessories that are integral parts of the building products.

When the Philippine government enacted the Iron and Steel Industry Act (Republic Act 7103), Philsteel took heed and in 1996 founded the Steel Corporation of the Philippines, addressing the government’s call for a private sector-led integration of the middle to downstream sector of the local steel industry, regarded as the linchpin of industrialization.

For the past four decades, the Philsteel Group has been in the frontline of the country’s struggle towards the development and modernization of the iron and steel industry, manufacturing and introducing breakthrough brands such as GALVALUME 55, COLORBOND and GALVABOND Pure Zinc that have set new standards in the local construction industry. These global-class brands are proudly Filipino-made in Philsteel manufacturing sites located throughout the country.

“Our new websites offer our business partners, dealers and customers an easier way to learn more about the companies, our products and services, while allowing them to browse information based on their own choice,” says Philsteel Chairman and CEO Abeto A. Uy. “As we celebrate another milestone year in 2019, these websites will also reflect our continuing commitment to strengthening our mission for theFilipino people in raising the quality of roofing and building materials in the country to be at par with the world’s best.”

8990 hits Php11.5 billion in 2018, sets 2019 revenue guidance of Php13 billion

8990 Holdings, listed on the Philippine Stock Exchange under the symbol “HOUSE” and one of the fastest growing real estate developers in the Philippines, rounded up 2018 hitting its full-year revenue target of Php 11.5 billion. It is eyeing Php 13 billion for 2019. The company is also guiding a net income of Php 5.2 billion.

“We had a strong fourth quarter given the increased interest in our housing projects throughout the country. This means we will have another banner year as our unaudited revenues hit our target of Php 11.5 billion in 2018. This is already double of what we did a mere six years ago,” said 8990 Holdings president and chief executive officer Willie J. Uy.

In 2019, the company expects to grow revenues to Php 13 billion with more than half coming from its projects in Luzon—particularly from its largest project to date, Urban Deca Homes Manila in Tondo.

Situated in an 8.4-hectare property, Urban Deca Homes Manila is a 13-tower residential complex offering over 13,000 units with an estimated sales value of Php 20 billion. Targeting residents of Tondo and those living in the Port Area, Intramuros, Divisoria and the Camanava (Caloocan-Malabon-Navotas-Valenzuela) area, Urban Deca Homes Manila addresses the housing needs in the most densely-populated area in Metro Manila.

According to Uy, “We have been in business for more than a decade. Our success in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao is testament to our belief that housing should be within reach of every Filipino. The market will always be receptive if you provide homes that are within secure communities and make it within reach.”

“Tondo is a good example. Urban Deca Homes Manila is the first large-scale development in the area. We provide Tondo residents and those living in nearby locations, who have been living with relatives or renting, a viable housing alternative in the area. With the completion of the 18,000-square meter Deca Mall, we will surely not only provide housing but a new kind of lifestyle for Tondo,” he added.

Deca Mall recently partnered with the SM Group, making SM Hypermarket as its anchor tenant. SM Hypermarket will occupy 3,073 square meters of the mall, offering a wide array of food and non-food products.

Gumtect for More Foodie Moments

Filipinos love to eat, and even if holiday parties and celebrations have subsided, gatherings and get-togethers continue. Just think of the upcoming Chinese New Year, Valentine’s Day, fiestas, and graduation parties!

While we’re still up for exciting food trips, it is important to take care of our oral healthand be ready for non-stop eating and drinking we all enjoy doing.

Doug and Chesca Kramer give the same encouragement to foodies like them who also love bonding moments over food.

As oral healthcare advocates for Gumtect, Doug and Chesca Kramer share how important it is that they take care of their teKeth and gums, so they don’t miss out on any foodie moments when they get togetherwith their friends and family.

“Despite our busy schedules, we enjoy the gatherings and reunions to relax and catch up over food,” shares Doug. “I have a really sweet tooth, and I enjoy having conversations over dessert, but for me to be able to just enjoy the food, I also ensure to take care of my gums and teeth so there’s no hassle of gum problems.”

Doug advocates oral care with the use of Gumtect Gum Care toothpaste, which works to promote healthy gums, protects against harmful mouth bacteria, and moisturizes and strengthens the gums.

As for Chesca, her already hectic schedule as a mom can only get busier with activities with her kids on the horizon. She shares that with her sensitive teeth, she needs to take care of her gums so pangingilodoesn’t get in the way of her indulging in her favorite dishes with her loved ones.

According to a study in 2011 by the National Monitoring and Evaluation Dental Survey, 48% of Filipinos suffer from some form of gum disease. Receding gums are often accompanied with tooth sensitivity.

Commonly caused by wearing of the thin outer covering of the tooth (enamel), over-brushing, acidic food, and gum receding, pangingilo or dental hypersensitivity begins when the inner part of the tooth is uncovered. This results to an oh-so-familiar brief yet sharp sensation of tooth sensitivity.

“I want to maximize my bonding moments with my family, especially enjoying food together like ice cream and buko salad. I want to be able to indulge in my favorite dishes without having to think about pangingilo,” Chesca says.

For Chesca, she recommends using Gumtect Sensitive toothpaste and Gumtect Sensitive mouthwash as they are specially formulated with Dynamic Desensitizing System to be able to help relieve tooth sensitivity.

Dr. JV Jaurigue, External Vice President of the Philippine Society of Periodontology, shares about the connection of gum health with overall health and stresses the importance of proper oral care. "Oral care is essential to our health. Rather than dealing with complications and difficulties of gum diseases, it is better to prevent them from happening,” he said.

Gumtect Gum Care is the only gum care toothpaste with GUMSHIELD+ which contains Allantoin, which improves the condition of the gums, Vitamin E, which moisturizes gums, and Triclean, which reduces the formation of plaque and shields against harmful mouth bacteria; while Gumtect Sensitive has a Dynamic Desensitizing System that helps relieve sensitive teeth. Both Gumtect Sensitive and Gumtect Gum Carealso have Active Anti-Cavity Protection that ensures fresh breath and strong teeth enamel.

With Filipinos’ love for gastronomic adventures especially those shared with family and friends, our oral health should always be in top shape so we won’t miss out on any foodie moment!
