On June 28 to 30, 2019, Bayview Park Hotel Manila will be holding a Bridal Fair and Fashion Show. The Fashion Show, featuring dresses of Mr. Paul Tenorio of Mikel Couture and modeled by Bayview employees, will start by 7 pm of June 28. 

The whole 2nd floor of the hotel will be the venue of the exhibit with booths offering cakes, hair and make-up, photo and video, and other essential services for wedding celebrations. Booths will be open from 10 am to 6 pm.

Bayview will be holding this three-day event with the goal of helping couples hold their dream wedding at Bayview Park Hotel Manila, and business partners to spread their product and services. Lucky couples will get a special gift from Bayview on the last day of the fair through a raffle draw.

The Designer 

Paul Tenorio brings the concept of simple, elegance, and feminism to mind in creating his classic bridal and evening gowns. He took up fashion design at SLIMs School of Art and Fashion. Paul has 10 years of experience in the bridal design business, and, having grown up in a family of seamstresses, even more years of fashion design under his belt. He loves dresses that show off the female body and understands the value of a well-fitting garment. He believes that everyday is a chance for a woman to have a red carpet moment and he wants them to look and feel amazing. 

The Brand 

MikEl by Paul Tenorio, is the essence of couture bridal designs which meshes traditional form with modern details. Intricacy has always been its signature, spending hours of dedication to every single detail coupled with love since it was established in 2011 in the heart of Manila. Years of adept skills at sewing coupled with love for art have culminated to what the clients continually love with each design. 11 student teams from the Philippines part of the Shell Eco-Marathon Asia

The Shell Eco-marathon Asia 2019 (SEMA) yesterday capped the exciting UrbanConcept Mileage Challenge competition at the Sepang International Circuit, the same venue where SEMA was first held 10 years ago. SEMA is the world’s longest running student mileage competitions that challenge teams to design, build and test ultra-energy efficient vehicles.

ITS Team Sapuangin, race number 501, from Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, Indonesia, winners of the UrbanConcept - Gasoline category during day three of Shell Make the Future Live Malaysia 2019 at the Sepang International Circuit on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, south of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Joining the team in victory is Shell General Manager for External Relations–Asia Pacific Xiaowei Liu (tenth from left) and Ministry of International Trade and Industry Deputy Minister Dr. Ong Kian Ming (eleventh from left).

Eleven student teams from the Philippines made it to this year’s SEMA and UP- Dagisik finished 8th in the UrbanConcept Mileage Challenge. Other participants from the Philippines were:

Three teams from the Philippines passed the technical inspection and were allowed to test their cars on track, University of the Philippines – Diliman’s Dagisik UP landed the 8th spot with their car Siglo 3.0, under the UrbanConcept-Battery-Electric category.

In the end, student teams from Indonesia, Vietnam and Singapore bagged the top awards in the UrbanConcept Mileage Challenge. The top three UrbanConcept teams from each category have made it to the Drivers‘ World Championship Qualifier, and will compete today, May 2,  in a race to see who crosses the finish line first without running out of their limited allocation of energy.

This year a total of 55 UrbanConcept student teams from the region were on track, pitting their innovative vehicles against each other in sub-categories spanning internal combustion engine, battery electric power and hydrogen fuel cell.

“The UrbanConcept cars seem largely more reliable than in previous years. We already have quite a number of valid runs than ever before. They seem, over all, more reliable and I think being on a professional race track with ample space, big turns for overtaking helped the students to achieve better results” explained Norman Koch, Global General Manager, Make the Future Live and Shell Eco Marathon.

SHELL ECO-MARATHON ASIA 2019 FIRST NIGHT RACE GLOBALLY

The competition, the first night race in the history of Shell Eco-marathon globally, was a new experience for both the spectators and participants.

“The night race added the extra excitement factor to the racing and of course it helps the driver to concentrate, not driving in the heat of the day. The cooler temperatures may have helped the results outcome” said Norman.
