Partner Drivers nationwide can now apply until October 29, 2023

Lalamove Philippines, leading on-demand delivery platform, launches BiyahEdukasyon to provide educational financial assistance to 100 partner drivers’ kids and/or siblings from Luzon, Metro Manila, and Cebu to receive a total of PHP 20,000 grant for the upcoming second semester of the academic year 2023 to 2024. This assistance opens doors to quality education and empowers them to pursue their academic goals.

The program, under Deliver Care, the company’s corporate social responsibility brand, represents Lalamove Philippines' commitment to do more than providing earning opportunities and livelihood for partner drivers, but also to support their families in realizing their dreams, particularly their educational aspirations.

“At the heart of BiyahEdukasyon is our desire to uplift the lives of our partner drivers and their loved ones. Nakikita namin ang dedikasyon ninyo sa araw-araw na makatulong sa mga deliveries ng libu-libong tao, kaya ngayon, hayaan niyo naman pong ihatid namin ang pasasalamat sa aming programa (We see your dedication every day to help move things that matter through deliveries for thousands of people, so this time, allow us to show our gratitude through our program). In every student, we see boundless potential, dreams that can transform lives. We want Lalamove to play a part in turning those dreams into reality," Djon Nacario, Lalamove Philippines' Managing Director emphasized.

Partner driver applicants can choose one beneficiary – whether their kid or their sibling – then fill up the application form, submit the required documents, and tell their inspiring story. There are no grade requirements to qualify for this program.

Empowering dreams, transforming lives

Beyond offering financial assistance, the BiyahEdukasyon program of Lalamove brings together both partner drivers and their families as they work toward common goals and ambitions.

Nacario explains that Lalamove Philippines believes partner drivers deserve to give their loved ones the opportunity to pursue their dreams without being held back by financial constraints, and that is where Lalamove comes in.

“BiyahEdukasyon is only the beginning of our major steps toward the fulfillment of our long-term commitment to empowering our partner drivers and their families. It aims to underscore Lalamove’s steadfast, long-term commitment to enable the economic well-being of our partner drivers, ” Nacario said.

UnionBank launches 3 new Bank-on-Wheels mobile kiosks with new, innovative features

Union Bank of the Philippines (UnionBank) continues its commitment to enhancing customer experiences with the launch of three new Bank-on-Wheels (BOW) mobile kiosks, each featuring innovative upgrades to serve clients better.

The new BOWs were unveiled during a lease contract signing ceremony between UnionBank and Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. (AFI), held last September 14 at the UnionBank Innovation Campus in San Pedro, Laguna. The contract allows UnionBank to use one electric vehicle owned by AFI as mobile banking kiosk.

Designed for mobility, the new BOWs offer mobile ATM services in a comfortable setting similar to The ARK, UnionBank's fully digital and paperless bank branch and the first of its kind in the country. The BOWs enable convenience by bringing banking services closer to clients through numerous features that cater to different needs. Additionally, all automatic teller machines (ATMs), cash recycler machines (CRMs), and other electronic equipment inside the BOWs are powered by batteries to minimize carbon emission.

The first of the three is a fully electric Bank-on-Wheels (eBOW) which has almost zero emissions, and will cover the areas of Metro Manila and nearby provinces. It is equipped with an ATM, where UnionBank cardholders can do balance inquiries, cash withdrawals, fund transfers, bill payment transactions, and PIN change, while CitySavings cardholders can do cash withdrawals and balance inquiries with zero fees. Non-UnionBank cardholders can do balance inquiries and withdrawals.

The second BOW is equipped with an ATM and a CRM, and will also cover areas in Metro Manila and its surrounding provinces, extending its reach to a wider geographical scope. This BOW allows UnionBank customers to do cardless withdrawals, as well as carded and cardless deposits, in addition to balance inquiries, cash withdrawals, fund transfers, and bill payment transactions. The CRM also allows Citi and CitySavings customers to do cash withdrawals and balance inquiries with zero fees. Meanwhile, non-UnionBank cardholders can do balance inquiries and withdrawals through the CRM.

The third BOW comes with a UnionBank ATM and a CitySavings ATM, and will be based in Davao to serve its customers in Mindanao. UnionBank and CitySavings customers, respectively, can do balance inquiries, cash withdrawals, fund transfers, and bill payment transactions. Non-UnionBank cardholders can do balance inquiries and withdrawals.

"In a world where financial transactions are rapidly evolving, we recognize the importance of adaptability and inclusivity. UnionBank's Bank-on-Wheels is not just a vehicle; it is a symbol of our dedication to reaching our valued customers, wherever they are, whenever they need us," said UnionBank Head of Corporate and Digital Operations Magz Magbanua.

"Today's gathering is not just the signing of an agreement. It's about a collective endeavor, a testament to how stakeholders from diverse backgrounds can unite to create solutions that transcend boundaries," said AFI President and Chief Operating Officer Maribeth Marasigan. "We are here to emphasize the importance of environmental management, social responsibility, and good governance in our pursuit of long-term value creation, financial growth, and business capability."
