Celebrating Life at Stuffed: A Thanksgiving Food Festival at The Grove

This is one exciting and memorable for all.  Stuffed: A Thanksgiving Food Festival, curated by Our Awesome Planet will line The Grove by Rockwell Community Center on November 15-17.

It may not be common for Filipinos to bring out the turkey and pumpkin pie when November rolls around, but that doesn’t stop The Grove by Rockwell and Our Awesome Planet from throwing a one-of-a-kind Thanksgiving get-together. Celebrating the best of family, food, and community at Stuffed: A Thanksgiving Food Festival, over 20 concessionaries curated by Our Awesome Planet will line The Grove by Rockwell Community Center.

You don’t have to wait until Christmas to take your friends and family to a feast of gustatory delights and a celebration of life’s greatest treasures. Presented by San Miguel Lifestyle Brews, Stuffed! will feature sweet treats from Baked by Anita, Risa Chocolates, The Fruit Garden, Symphony of Flavors Bakeshop; mouthwatering temptations from General’s Lechon, Chef Anton, Crunchy Belly, Gigabite, Esses, The Plaza, Goldenduck’s Premium Duck Products, Franchino, Tamayaki, and Barley Gastropub; and refreshing thirst-quenchers from Juice Barista. Adding to the weekend’s delightful fare, The Souq Organics will be offering premium bath and body products perfect for each member of the family.

At an Instagram photo booth provided by Printsocial, families and friends can document these unforgettable moments at The Grove. Lucky diners will also get a chance to bring home gift certificates for authentic Japanese burger steaks from Umami Hambaagu House, and an iPad Mini from Beyond the Box!

In light of the recent tragedy that has ravaged the Visayas region, diners also have the choice to help out, with The Grove serving as a receiving station for donations for victims of Typhoon Yolanda. The community and guests are invited to bring items such as rice, canned goods, noodles, coffee, water, toiletries, and medicine, which will benefit those affected by the storm, through the ABS-CBN Sagip Kapamilya Foundation and the Lopez Group Foundation.

For a memorable weekend of delectable flavors and other activities, dine amidst refreshing greens or find a sweet surprise to take home at The Grove by Rockwell.

Visit Stuffed: A Thanksgiving Food Festival on November 15-17, 2013, 11AM-10PM at The Grove by Rockwell Community Center along C5, near Ortigas Avenue.

Happy Bread Day at Gardenia's Bread Town !

Gardenia has opened the Bread Town last Monday, October 28 at Glorietta Activity Center, Makati City.

Happy Bread Day with the bread makers and bread lovers advocate the philosophy of “sharing” and “breaking” of bread as a significant and symbolic humanitarian act.

Gardenia opened the gates of Bread Town, a wondrous place where lots of fun activities, prizes, games, surprises and overflowing breads shared to those who join the celebration. This event is made even bigger with the culmination of Gardenia’s search for the Next Big Sandwich Hit; a sandwich-making and business idea generation competition among 10 universities in Manila with HRM or Culinary course.

Gardenia Bakeries Philippines, Inc. (GBPI), the company that makes the household favorite Gardenia breads famous for its good taste, freshness, softness, oven-baked aroma and nutritive-value, celebrates yet another exciting “Happy Bread Day,” at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati City, invited all families, friends and anyone who just love to eat bread to celebrate with them during this special day.

“Gardenia Happy Bread Day”, on its third straight year, commemorates the role of bread as a vital part of everyone’s daily nutritional and sustenance.
“Happy Bread Day” is also Gardenia’s own way of reminding Filipinos to have fun and show their love for bread in line with the “World Bread Day” celebration which is held every October 16, where all bread lovers from all over the world share the goodness of bread.
Visitors of Gardenia Bread Town experience exciting activities from different booths starting with the Wheat Bread Boulevard where health buffs get to sample Gardenia’s healthy-licious breads. “Kids and adults alike had ga-ga for muffins while having their photos taken at the Muffin Studio. While those who love cream rolls and fun buns were happy to play at the Cream Roll Nook and Fun Bun Playground.

For curious minds who want to know more about Gardenia’s rich history, the Gardenia Museum provides all the answers to their questions. Then after having a long and tiring stroll around the Gardenia Bread Town, visitors come, chill and relax in the “Pandesal CafĂ©” or savor sweet treats from the Gardenia “Flavored Bread Station.”

Meanwhile, the G-Lock Wall held thousands of G-locks; a color coded tag which guarantees the freshness of Gardenia breads. Each G-lock donated by visitors corresponded to two loaves donated to Gardenia’s chosen charities. Happy visitors write their memorable Bread Town experience in the Toast Wall and taken home tokens which they pick from the Bread Tree.
The teams from different schools went through grueling qualifying rounds before they were able to earn the right to represent their schools. But it did not stop there, teams got to test the saleability of their sandwiches and experience real life business challenges at the Midnight Mercato leg at Bonifacio Global City. Teams competed among other schools for the most peso sales which is part of their final scores. And the finale of “The Next Big Sandwich Hit” is by no means a pushover when it comes to grandeur, for the winners stand the chance of bringing home more than P200,000 worth of prizes!
This is the ultimate bread experience for all. Here are some of the pictures I shot during the Gappy Bread Day.

It's more fun in the Philippines! Blackbeard's Seafood Island National Boodle Day!

Had a great fun yesterday at the 9th year celebration of Blackbeard's Seafood Island with National Boodle Day all over the country. And had an extreme bonding with friends, and boodle with seafoods.

Really, it's more fun food festival in the Philippines!

For years I have watched in many occasions with members of Philippine Military Academy cadets, regardless of rank. This is the military eating tradition as a symbol of fraternity and equality. The boodle fight is terminology for "eating combat" or "attack the food." They gather around a long table where a jumble of food is spread over banana leaves and eaten with bare hands.
Me and my friends were invited to join in Seafood Island's Robinsons Magnolia Branch. We witnessed a 15 minutes boodle eating contest among the three teams with four members, chosen from the list of this Seafood Island branch frequent diners.
Team #1
Team #2
Team #3
Team 3 won after 6 minutes finishing the food and were given Boodle Gift Certificates as their prize.
And for our boodle fight, we had experienced the extreme bonding with rice topped with seafood, tahong, shrimps, fried fish , vegetables, serving of “bagoong” (fish paste), barbeque and mango.
Seafood Island, the home of the freshest seafood and barbeque favorites. And as Blackbeard’s Seafood Island foster Filipino values through bonding with family and friends.
The whole day is super fun spreading the boodle-licious vibes all over and trending the Boodle Day twitter seafoodisland and in facebook with hashtag #NationalBoodleDay.

Congratulations to the winners, to all who join this yummy fun Boodle fight and to Blackbeard's Seafood Island nationwide!
There are more dishes to try, let's boodle fight again and for more updates, check out Seafood Island Facebook . Seafood Island Twitter
