H2O Business: Aquabest gears up for provincial expansion

Here's the latest business news from GQWEST Inc. They announced plans to expand its Aquaquest water refilling franchise outside Metro Manila as part of its plans to drive growth.

A sister brand of Aquabest the country’s premier water franchise and with over a hundred stores, Aquaquest is set to grow in rural areas where potable water access remains an issue.

Carson Tan, sees tremendous potential in areas outside Manila, which have begun to see rapid development and urbanization.

“With the Metro Manila water refilling market getting ever more competitive it would be more practical to look at other areas where opportunities are great and competition isn't as fierce,” Tan said.

A single Aquaquest store can offer three different types of water: purified, mineral, and alkaline. While the purified water is the staple product of the store, the mineral and alkaline types of water would appeal most to people who have specific medical needs or those who need water as a health supplement.

More than just providing its franchisees and consumers with more options, the franchise also offers its franchisees a faster return period due to increased sales brought about by the 3-in-1 concept of the enterprise. This triples their opportunities and chances for success with just a single store.

Acquiring an Aquaquest franchise is now made easier due to the financing options offered by GQWEST as it is apart from its flexible marketing options.

Franchisees can also take advantage of the company’s tie-ups with institutions like BPI Family Savings Bank to help secure a Ka-Negosyo loan package for their franchise. The company also offers excellent after-sales support with a store opening package, local marketing and technical support.

With the company’s Green-Mindset advocacy, the Aquaquest water store may be bundled with a Laundryquest store to conserve water and increase the store's income.

What makes one of our local football superstars Anton del Rosario go further

Anton del Rosario, one of our local football superstars, has been playing for the Azkals since 2003 and was part of the historic team that won the 2010 ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup held in Vietnam and Indonesia.

With the globe’s attention on the World Cup still fresh, it’s inevitable that Filipinos hope that our national team, the Azkals, will someday clinch a spot. Considering that there was zero focus on the sport before the Azkals came along, and the phenomenal strides the team has taken in a relatively short period of time, it seems that it won’t be long before we see our own booters playing in the most watched sporting event in the world.

Having played the sport for over a decade, Anton works hard and knows football from the inside out, and considers it primarily as a mental game.

“Playing football is my therapy,” he says. “When I play, I don’t have to think about things outside of football. More often than not, I’m happy in the field.”

Certainly, football is also a very physical game. It is something that Anton prepares for by eating well, sleeping anywhere from seven to eight hours in a day, and practicing in the field six days a week. In between training, Anton hits the gym to keep his body in tiptop shape.

Anton del Rosario mixes C-Lium Fiber Husk powder, an all-natural fiber supplementation derived from psyllium plant, with his favorite beverages, such as orange juice.

“Fiber is necessary in your diet because I believe it helps cleanse your system. By being clean from the inside, you feel light. And because I feel lighter, I feel that I have a surplus of energy,” he says.
Another factor in his health arsenal is C-Lium Fibre, a fiber supplement made from 100 percent natural psyllium fiber . Anton says that it makes him feel light, something that is crucial for a sport that demands him to cover distances and tests his limits.

“C-Lium makes me feel lighter,” he says. “And feeling lighter helps give a little bounce to my step.”

Anton, who is a native of San Francisco, California, already heard about the fiber supplement from his friend’s dad, whom he describes as a “serious health buff.” And even before he was tapped to become the brand ambassador of C-Lium, his curiosity stoked, this 5’11” powerhouse tried it.

For someone who lives an active lifestyle, Anton underscores the importance of fiber in one’s diet, in tandem with the protein, carbohydrates and healthy fats one consumes for daily nourishment. “Fiber is necessary in your diet because I believe it helps cleanse your system,” he says. “By being clean from the inside, you feel lighter. And because I feel lighter, I feel that I have a surplus of energy.”

It seems that he needs all the energy he can get now that Anton has been reinstated back to the Azkals, where he hopes to “be able to take a leadership role as an experienced player.” He has had training in this department, having been the team leader of Kaya Football Club, which is under the United Football League.

Though he may be pushing himself constantly and setting his limits high, Anton says that he keeps things in check by also taking care of the other things that matter to him. For instance, he makes sure that he gets to play football with his son Myles.

“We already have Myles playing at the Kaya Academy and he loves it,” he says. “It’s good to have him involved at a young age.”

At six o’ clock in the morning, Anton del Rosario is already up and about, doing drills and practicing his football skills. Anton says that C-Lium Fibre makes him feel light, which helps bring a bounce to his step when he is out in the football field.

For someone like Anton del Rosario who runs an active lifestyle, it’s important that he follows a balanced diet that includes a hearty supply of fruits and vegetables. To help ensure that he covers the recommended daily allowance of fiber, he drinks C-Lium Fibre at least twice a day

By all indications, Anton is at the top of his game. It helps that he has everything covered—from his professional to his personal life, from diet to exercise, from good sleep to fiber supplementation.

With this healthy lifestyle and the help of C-Lium, it’s no surprise that Anton, one of our local football superstars, can go the extra mile.

C-Lium Fibre is made from 100% natural psyllium fiber and is a good source of soluble and insoluble fiber. It comes in husk powder and capsule variants and is available in leading drugstores and supermarkets nationwide.

10th Global Pinoy Bazaar on August 22-24

Global Pinoy Bazaar, Championing Filipino Entrepreneurialism since 2007

As the Global Pinoy Bazaar moves to the World Trade Center for its tenth installment, Yabang Pinoy proves the quality of Filipino brands threefold.

Global Pinoy Bazaar is Yabang Pinoy's proof that Filipino brands can compete with other foreign brands. It is an annual fund-raising event created to provide a venue for Filipino entrepreneurs to showcase their proudly Filipino products, brands, and concepts to the public.

Since 2007, it has become a breeding ground for Filipino startups to meet other entrepreneurs, artists, designers, musicians, and creative minds for them to meet, be discovered, and collaborate with each other.

For eight years running, the Global Pinoy Bazaar has been successfully championing the excellence of proudly Filipino brands, proving that we can compete with big international labels. The flagship project of Yabang Pinoy has built a community where business owners focus on craftsmanship and consumers expect loyalty.

In the 10th Global Pinoy Bazaar on 22-24 August 2014, Yabang Pinoy moves to the World Trade Center, a venue three times larger, to showcase the breadth of Filipino entrepreneurialism. The lineup features almost two hundred local brands and business concepts, from loyal merchants to budding startups, in art, design, music, travel, technology, home, fashion, and food and beverage.

“A Filipino entrepreneur is someone who believes that Filipinos have the ability to exceed or at least be at par with established international brands in terms of product quality, process efficiencies, marketing, and branding,” says Mark Carrillo of men’s lifestyle brand Fledge Clothing. The new entrant to the bazaar is equally as committed to product quality. “People are always surprised when they learn that our products are locally made. We are joining Global Pinoy Bazaar to support the local industry, and show the quality of local independent brands,” says Mark.

This conviction is not lost in Martha Rodriguez of Vesti Clothing, which has been joining the bazaar since the brand was founded four years ago.” I started Vesti in October 2010 to showcase the beauty of hand-woven indigenous fabrics from Mindanao. I joined Global Pinoy Bazaar in November the same year because I felt that it was the perfect venue where people appreciate local art, culture, and heritage.”

There will be various activities during the three days of bazaar, from talks by crowdfunding platform Spark Project and app developer JoomaJam, to workshops by crafts studio Craft Manila, and a jamming session by dance school Samba School Imperatriz Filipinense, among others.

The Global Pinoy Bazaar also coincides with Buwan ng Wika and with the “Made in the Philippines Products Week,” as declared by Presidential Proclamation No. 76.

By showcasing globally competitive Filipino brands, Yabang Pinoy strives to support and empower local micro, small, and medium enterprises, and develop the community of globally competitive Filipino brands.

Enjoy the 10th Global Pinoy Bazaar on August 22 - 2014, from 11am to 9pm at the World Trade Center.
