QC partners with Lalamove launches LalaJeep, for livelihood of jeepney drivers

The Quezon City local government in partnership with Lalamove launched LalaJeep, the latest addition to the latter's fleet which will cater to the delivery needs of QC residents and help jeepney drivers who were displaced due to the community quarantine.

With thousands of jeepney drivers in Quezon City, Mayor Joy Belmonte said the income from LalaJeep would be a big help to those who will sign up.

“Since our jeepney drivers are directly affected by the continuing community quarantine, this LalaJeep program is a welcome initiative which will provide alternative livelihood for them. We are grateful to Lalamove for piloting this program in Quezon City.”

The program will also provide a more affordable option for business owners who are heavily reliant on the delivery app for the delivery of their products.

Small Business and Cooperatives Development and Promotions Office (SBCDPO) Head Mona Yap shared how LalaJeep will also help businesses in their logistics. “As many businesses are transitioning to online which demands delivery services, this LalaJeep will be a great support not just for jeepney drivers but also for small businesses.”

Dannah Majarocon, the Managing Director of Lalamove Philippines said, “This project is aligned with Lalamove’s goal to empower communities and uplift the livelihood of those who are heavily affected by the pandemic. This will allow our services better to suit every business owner and day-to-day user’s delivery needs. This project is a testament that with governmental support, we can deliver possibilities faster.”

The Task Force on Transportation and Traffic Management (TFTTM) will screen and assist in the registration of the jeepney drivers while the SBCDPO shall facilitate group training sessions for their jeepney driver constituents, to enable them to understand and navigate the delivery app. During the preparation of the launch, around 200 jeepney drivers signed up to be part of the LalaJeep fleet. With the alternative source of income, both the Quezon City local government and Lalamove hope that the LalaJeep project will help keep jeepney drivers afloat until they are allowed by the national government to ply their respective routes.

Smart President & CEO and PLDT Chief Revenue Officer Al Panlilio

“We at PLDT and Smart are focused on putting the customer at the center of everything we do. Within the Enterprise group, we aim to do this through the launch of solutions such as BEYOND FIBER, which is set to benefit all our customers—regardless of size or industry. We look forward to seeing how this solution will inspire business to look beyond the current situation and take their businesses further,” said Smart President & CEO and PLDT Chief Revenue Officer Al Panlilio.

ePLDT President and CEO and SVP Head for PLDT and Smart Enterprise Business Groups Jovy Hernandez

“Digitalization has now become critical for businesses that want to survive and thrive under the challenging conditions created by the COVID pandemic. We specifically designed BEYOND FIBER to equip businesses with digital solutions tailor-fit to the growing needs of today’s enterprises,” said Jovy Hernandez, ePLDT President & CEO and SVP Head for PLDT and Smart Enterprise Business Groups.

Beyond Fiber plan starts a Php 2,500/month and comes with up to 50mbps internet speeds, a dedicated business landline, and a business-grade Cisco Meraki WiFi router.

PLDT Beyond Fiber plan starts at Php 2,500 monthly and it will be FREE for the first three months of subscription. SMEs and large enterprises alike can avail of the foundational components of BEYOND FIBER: enterprise-grade connectivity via a premium WiFi device and fiber connection, all supported by a dedicated business hotline.

BEYOND FIBER raises the bar by offering a more robust business-grade fiber link with speeds of up to 50 Mbps—harnessing PLDT’s extensive fiber optic network with over 322,000 kilometers of fiber cables and growing – to better enable the day-to-day business for an office, a branch or for people working from home.

To manage the expanding use of wi-fi connectivity in the workplace, BEYOND FIBER comes with a secure, enterprise-grade wi-fi router. Stores for example can have dual wi-fi networks: one for work, and one for guests.

For businesses using telecommute or work-from-home arrangements, the WiFi service can enforce certain network policies to support their company processes. This is made possible by PLDT’s partnership with Cisco Meraki – a leader in cloud managed IT with unmatched visibility and control.

Customize your business connectivity plan with an array of add-ons for productivity, collaboration, data and device protection, and contactless and online transactions.

On top of this, PLDT is offering a selection of solutions that fit current and future digital needs of enterprises. This includes productivity tools available through Microsoft 365’s suite of work solutions, collaboration tools via MS Teams, appointments scheduling via MS Bookings.

BEYOND FIBER also offers solutions to protect work devices from cyber-attacks via ePLDT’s Endpoint Advanced Security, to enable cashless and online payments via Paymaya, and to provide secure & private connections through Cisco Meraki Z3.

“These are the solutions initially lined up under BEYOND FIBER. We will have more in the months to come. This initiative is designed to help businesses to make their digital shift—so that they grow amid the COVID crisis and help power the recovery of the national economy,” Hernandez said.

Businesses will never be the same again and we hope to inspire you to look BEYOND.

JBL Earphones at Shopee, a perfect gift for Father’s Day!

Fathers love tech and headphones / earphones these days, a perfect gift for Father’s Day.

Some of the best rated and best selling headphones/earphones will make their workout more fun, so you can pick the perfect gift for Dad this year. There’s everything from wireless, noise-cancelling to wired, hi-res over ear. It’s everything your dad ever wanted.

A decent pair of sports headphones are a very worthy investment.

There are things to look for great earphones.

A secure but comfortable fit.

You can get all sorts of fitness-oriented designs that wrap tightly around your head, over and around your ears.

The best types of running headphones are actually either true wireless or lightweight Bluetooth in-ears with tips that go into the ear as usual, but with additional, curved, tapered ‘hooks’ that sit under the antihelix of your ear.

Decent sound quality.

Research has shown that the right type and tempo of tune can keep you in the zone for longer, and we’ve all run up park steps to a suitably soundtrack.

Most people want to be able to hear/feel their tunes as they workout and be motivated by them, whilst blocking out the gym/the world.
the sound levels are above normal.

Whatever the sound you want, there is nothing more annoying than ear buds worming their way out when you’re trying to stay focussed. The main causes of this are poorly fitting ear-tips, plus the vibrations through your body and movements of your head as you run or work out. Even the best running headphones can become annoying when their cable snags on the back of your neck or your clothing.

Waterproofing.

Although a ‘normal’ pair of headphones can work well for exercise, if they fit well enough, they’re just not built to stand up to heavy rain when running or, more importantly, sweat when doing any exercise.

JBL headphones, including earbuds, in-ear headphones, and on-ear headphones surround you with high-performance sound in comfortable and stylish designs.
