Filipino singer-songwriter Benj Pangilinan drops music video for “Love, That’s Rare”

Filipino singer-songwriter Benj Pangilinan is the newest recording artist this year to be launched under Sony Music Entertainment—home to some of the biggest acts in the country, including P-Pop royalty SB19 and multi-awarded band Ben&Ben.

---------------------------------------
The nostalgic MV was conceptualized by Benj himself and his sister, Hannah
---------------------------------------

Serving charismatic flair with undeniable vocal chops, the promising star has shown immense promise with the release of “LOVE, THAT’S RARE.” The track serves as his official single under the international record label, and is co-produced by Grammy-nominated Xerxes Bakker (Imagine Dragons, Snoop Dogg).

The release of the electro-pop ballad is accompanied by a music video directed by Filipino filmmaker Gilb Baldoza, who has done important work for fellow recording artists such as Julie Anne San Jose and Rico Blanco. The main idea behind its visuals was conceived by Benj and his sister Hannah.

“We wanted to try our best to tell a story that made people see a different side of Love and all that it brings,” the alt-pop prodigy explains. “Working with Direk Gilb was super fun. His energy is infectious. I learned so much from him on the process of what it takes to create a short film.”

Despite coming from a lineage of well-respected entertainers, Benj Pangilinan wants to be known for bringing his personal stamp to his own art. Not worried about what other people think, the multi-hyphenate artist is keen on redirecting his focus on making music that represents his own vision.

I'm not trying to impress anyone,” he admits. “I guess I just try to focus on being as authentic as possible to shine His light on others.”

The music video of “LOVE, THAT’S RARE” is out on July 7, 2023 (Friday) at 7pm on YouTube via Sony Music Entertainment. Watch it here.

ASUS announces the best ASUS OLED laptop for creative professionals

With the growing need for a powerful, agile workstation for Creatives and AEC professionals alike, ASUS Philippines sees an opportunity to continue to develop Creator Market through the ProArt Studiobook line-up, and with the promise to always Search for the Incredible; ASUS Philippines developed the newest addition to the Creator Series, the ASUS ProArt Studiobook 16 OLED (H7604).

----------------------------------------------------
Bringing ideas to life, the ASUS ProArt Studiobook 16 OLED presents itself as the mobile workstation for Creative Professionals and AEC (Architecture Engineering Construction) professionals with its desktop-grade performance with wide-gamut, color-accurate display.
----------------------------------------------------

The ultra-powerful ASUS ProArt Studiobook 16 OLED is a 16-inch mobile workstation designed for the most demanding creative tasks. This new model under the ProArt Studiobook line harnesses the power of the latest to 13th Gen Intel® Core™ i9- 13980HX processors and the powerful NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 4070 Ada Generation GPU, and this model also comes up to two 4 TB PCIe® 4.0 x4 SSDs to provide maxed-out performance for professional users, along with cutting-edge technology and creator-centric design, making them the no-compromise choice for serious creators, designers, engineers, and developers.

ASUS understands well enough that creative professionals require precise control over their work, and creator-centric design is one of the key features of the ProArt Studiobook range; the ASUS Dial, an intuitive physical controller, gives creative professionals instant and precise fingertip control over parameters in their creative apps. The ProArt Studiobook 16 OLED also includes the world's first haptic touchpad with stylus support, which makes it easy to use for drawing or writing.

Knowing all too well that creative professionals often work with a wide range of peripherals and devices, that is why superior connectivity is vital for studio use; that is why the ProArt Studiobook 16 OLED was engineered to have a full complement of I/O ports, including two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C® ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, HDMI® 2.1, RJ45 gigabit LAN, an SD Express 7.0 card reader, and a convenient audio combo port.
Maxed-out Performance

Creative professionals often work with complex software applications for rendering and simulation; that is why performance is the key essence of ProArt Studiobook 16 OLED, putting desktop-grade content-creation capabilities in a take-anywhere package. The latest 13th Gen Intel Core i9-13980HX processor, teamed with an exceptionally fast NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 4070 GPU based on NVIDIA's Ada Lovelace architecture, makes light work of compute-intensive workloads, enabling creative professionals to iterate and refine their designs more quickly. The ProArt Studiobook 16 OLED also features NVIDIA DLSS AI-powered graphics and 8th Gen NVIDIA Encoders, an innovative solution for heavy content creation and even for gaming.

The advanced ASUS IceCool Pro thermal technology gives the ProArt Studiobook 16 OLED the edge when it comes to performance and quietness. Liquid metal thermal materials on the CPU, five heat pipes, and larger 102-blade dual fans boost airflow for better cooling. Plus, the new per-key keyboard lighting also helps maximize airflow. All this technology helps keep noise levels below 40 dBA in Standard cooling mode, or users can unleash the full 160W combined CPU/GPU TDP whenever needed.

Dual NVMe® M.2 slots allow the laptops to be provisioned with up to two 4TB PCIe 4.0 x4 SSDs for an incredible 8TB of ultrafast storage, and two SO-DIMM slots support up to 64GB of high-performance 5,200 MHz DDR5 RAM.

Exhilarating OLED Display

Your creations demand visual perfection, and the ProArt Studiobook 16 OLED delivers it with the world-leading 3.2K 120Hz OLED display that is a class of its own. This display delivers truly photorealistic visuals that are VESA DisplayHDR™ True Black 500 certified for ultra-high contrast and deep blacks, and the 100% DCI-P3 industry-standard color gamut ensures you’re seeing as many vivid, true-to-life colors as possible.

The ProArt Studiobook 16 OLED uses a Dolby Vision-certified touchscreen that is PANTONE® Validated, Calman Verified for accurate color rendering, and has a Delta E of less than 1 for true-to-life colors. The touchscreen even supports an MPP 2.0 stylus, such as the ASUS Pen 2.0, with 4096 pressure levels. All these features create the best quality output without harming your eyes as it is also equipped with TÜV Rheinland certifications to protect your eyes even on long late-night sessions with 70%-lower blue-light emissions than LCD models.

Creator-centric Design

The ProArt Studiobook 16 OLED includes many thoughtful design features to enhance your creative workflow.

The new 28% larger 16:10 haptic touchpad is a boon for efficient creativity. This is the world’s first haptic touchpad with the support of an MPP 2.0 stylus, making it even more versatile. It uses linear resonant actuator (LRA) technology to provide the most precise and responsive haptic feedback.

As every creator dreams of having actual control over colors and designs, the ASUS Dial provides just that. It is an intuitive physical rotary control that gives instant and precise fingertip control over parameters in creative apps, such as brush size, saturation, or layer opacity. It can also adjust screen brightness and volume or vertical scroll for a smoother creative workflow. The ASUS Dial works with any app and is fully customizable to your preference.

Creators are naturally curious and refined artists, digitally and in actuality; the ProArt Studiobook 16 OLED understands that creative professionals’ hands have been through many stages even before they start doing their work. To help reduce the spread of harmful bacteria, frequently touched surfaces of this laptop are treated with ASUS Antimicrobial Guard, which is scientifically proven to inhibit the growth of bacteria by more than 99% over a 24-hour period.

A high-tech anti-fingerprint nano-coating preserves the minimalist matte Mineral Black finish of the ProArt Studiobook 16 OLED. This coating is not only tough and durable, but it also reduces reflectivity with a premium silky feel. Any water on the surface can simply be wiped off thanks to the water-beading properties of the coating.

The new ProArt Studiobook 16 OLED meets the ultra-demanding MIL-STD 810H military standard for reliability and durability, undergoing a punishing test regime that includes extended tests for operation in harsh environments. It also passes ASUS laptop tests that far exceed standards set by the industry, so you are sure that this laptop can be brought anywhere at any given time without worrying about it.
Fully Connected

With a full complement of I/O ports, connecting the ProArt Studiobook 16 OLED to studio peripherals, display devices, and networks is easy. There are two Thunderbolt™ 4 USB-C® ports with Power Delivery, DisplayPort, and VR support; two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports; a standard RJ45 gigabit Ethernet LAN port; the latest HDMI 2.1 FRL port; and an SD Express 7.0 card reader that puts connectivity leagues ahead of the pack. A convenient 3.5 mm audio combo jack takes care of incoming and outgoing audio connections.

Support for the latest HDMI 2.1 standard means creators can push high-resolution content to external high res displays at resolutions of up to 4K / 120 Hz or 8K / 60 Hz, making these mobile workstations the perfect choices for today’s visual creators. SD Express 7.0 is ready for the fastest ever SD Express cards: supporting speeds of up to 985 MB/s. These are nearly 10x faster than the original SD cards, making transferring large files between devices easier and quicker than ever.

Filipino pop-rock outfit NOBITA hits home with soulful new track “Paruparo Na Walang Hanggan”

Fresh off the success of viral hit “Unang Sayaw,” Filipino pop-rock outfit NOBITA continues to smash out of the gate with another song with commercial potential.

Their new single “Paruparo Na Walang Hanggan” plays on the band’s musical strengths, blending deeply personal lyrics with soulful, harmony-laden arrangements. Like their previous releases, NOBITA’s latest song hits home with vulnerability that people can relate to.

Paruparo Na Walang Hanggan is a song for someone who continues to believe in love, no matter the struggles they may have experienced in the past,” the chart-topping band shares in a statement. “The main hook and most of the melodic lines just came out spontaneously during one of our rehearsals for an event. It felt like we just vomited it subconsciously.”

While it’s a love song to the core, “Paruparo Na Walang Hanggan” embraces a more intricate sonic direction, going as far as adding layers of choir-like elements, sparse keyboard textures, and bluesy chords to create something slightly out of the ordinary. Isagani Palabyab, their constant collaborator, co-produced the track and helped redefine its kundiman sensibilities with a modern flair.

NOBITA adds, “We take pride in making songs that the audience can feel what we feel and remember easily the melody and lyrics of the song when they first hear it. We’re grateful to Isagani for encapsulating this vision into something memorable and subtle, and still giving off that familiar sound of ours.”

The song will be included in the setlist for their upcoming 6-city tour in the US, which kicks off in Las Vegas, Nevada on August 11 and wraps up in Fairfax, Virginia on August 26. Tickets are available at www.ToggleSwitchPH.com.
