Janella Salvador is ready to go on her own

The young actress and singer Janella Salvador, is now ready to try new things to help her grow as an actress, including be paired with different leading men and not having to stick with one perennial onscreen partner.

Now the 20 years old lady expressed her openness to break away from the love team she has been typecast these past couple of years.

Having been in the business six year, Janella’s career scaled new heights when her team-up with fellow Kapamilya star Elmo Magalona was formed in 2016.

Together, their tandem became well known as ElNella.

For TV, they did Born For You (2016), Wansapanataym; Holly & Mau (2016) and followed by Wansapanataym: Jasmin’s Flower Powers (2017).

The onscreen couple went on to make movies, recently My Fairy Tail Love Story (2018) from Regal Entertainment, Inc.

But in her latest movie, So Connected, Janella has a new leading man, in the person of Jameson Blake.

Though she remains grateful to the fans of her previous love team, Janella hopes fans would support her even if she would have new onscreen partners.

“Syempre love ko naman lahat ng fans, pero like I requested din sa mga tao, sana after everything, mas okay na rin na hindi ako i-pair sa isang person consistently. Mas okay ‘yun,” she explained.

She expresses that she hopes to be a versatile actress and not to have to depend on a team-up in all of her projects.

To be paired with different leading men will enable her to improve her craft.

“Kasi mahirap na mag-build ng isang [love team], so I’d rather grow.”

She clarifies that she is happy with ElNella, but being groomed for another constant leading man is not an easy task.

“I’ll admit that it was really hard for me to accept na I have to work with different people, but now, okay na sa akin. There’s nothing wrong with that.

“I realized that it’s gonna help me grow in my career.

“It’s gonna help me discover things about myself when it comes to acting.

Syempre may adjustment. Hindi ako sanay, pero it’s always nice to try something new.

“I think it’s good growth din as an actress.

“So, if I’m gonna be paired up now, ayoko nang ma-groom as a love team, kumbaga iba-iba na.”

In So Connected, Jameson portrays Karter, a video editor for a web channel.

One day, his phone gets stolen by a thief, who, in turn, sells it to a waitress named Trisha (Janella).

Not knowing that the gadget is synced to Karter’s computer, Trisha stores photos and pictures on the mobile phone that Karter can access.

Having a glimpse of her life through pictures and videos, Karter becomes infatuated with her.

Eventually, he goes on a mission to find Trisha through the clues from the videos and photos.

When their paths finally cross, Trisha feels she ridiculously has a lot of things in common with Karter.

She feels that they are so connected.

But what if she finds out that the connection she has for Karter, did not form from the genuine kind that she has in mind?

The film also stars Ruby Rodriguez, Rolando Inocencio, Cherise Castro, Krystal Brimner, Paulo Angeles, VJ Mendoza, Chai Fonacier, Rafael Sudayan and is directed by the highly-respected Jason Paul Laxamana.

So Connected opens in cinemas on May 23.

My 2 Mommies stars Paolo Ballesteros and Solenn Heussaff tackles about the true meaning of motherhood in these modern times

Regal Entertainment, Inc. is coming up with a Mother's Day offering this May, which honors all the mothers out there; whether they are biological mothers or mothers at heart.

My 2 Mommies, which mainly stars Paolo Ballesteros, Solenn Heussaff, and Maricel Soriano is a touching movie that celebrates motherhood and aims to show that more than the gender, being a mother is all about a parent's unconditional love for to the child.

My 2 Mommies tells the story of Manu, a discreet gay guy, with a successful career but is not out to his family.

Furthermore, he is in a same-sex relationship that he also keeps under the radar.

But his life takes a pivotal turn when Monique, a woman from Manu’s his past, shows up one day and admits to him that they have a seven-year-old son.

Is Manu prepared to reveal his kid that his dad is also a “mommy” and confess his true identity?

Is Manu ready for the responsibilities of parenthood and raise his son in an unconventional way?

Paolo describes his latest movie as “timely” because it tackles an issue that happens in real life.

“Ang gusto naming ipakita is a different kind of mother. Kasi ang alam natin pag Mother's Day, the usual na nasa card na puro mama.

“Tama naman ang nasa movie, hindi lang naman babae ang nanay, di ba?”

The actor pointed out that motherhood is not bound by biological attachment, and cited some women who assumed the “mother roles” to children even if they are not the ones who gave birth to them.

“Merong ibang klaseng nanay, yung iba nawala yung nanay at ang naging nanay, yung kapatid, so it's a different kind of mother,” he explained.

Solenn described the movie as highly relatable to many people these days.

She explained that people's views on different things, such as sexual orientation, have changed in the last couple of years.

“In a way, people are accepting things more. Pati yung LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) community is strong na also.

She continued, “Madaming bansa na ang nag-agree ng gay marriage, the world is opening up little by little, so relatable talaga ang movie.”

People are adapting to change, she explained.

Solenn further mentioned that the society nowadays is more accepting to unconventional situations of people, such as single moms, separated couples, and gay couples.

“Nowadays in the last five years, very open na ang mga tao, so it's really modern.”

Eric Quizon, who directed the film, said that the premise of the movie has been existing for a long time but it is only now that people are warming up to the idea.

“There are a lot of parents na ganyan. It's just that because of how Filipinos view it. Syempre, religion pa rin (may malakas na influence).

“But ang maganda kasi now, people have become more socially accepting, yung social awareness mas okay na,” he pointed out.

“They dont mind, they've been open about their sexuality as compared to before. Mas open na sila ngayon.

“Parents who come from LGBT groups mas relaxed na sila of handling situations like this, and kahit sa mga bata, mas open na ang understanding nila.”

Paolo also admitted that he feels the pressure to do good in this movie, especially that his 2016 blockbuster hit movie, Die Beautiful, earned him acting awards here and abroad.

Paolo’s role as Trisha Echevarria, gave him the Best Actor award in the 2016 Tokyo International Film Festival and 42nd Metro Manila Film Festival. He also bagged the Film Ambassador Award by the Film Development Council of the Philippines.

“Hanggang ngayon, two years ago, tumutuka pa sa mga awards giving bodies ang Die Beautiful. Iba rin kasi yung naging impact ng Die Beautiful. I guess pag may ganong klaseng story ng pelikula, tatatak talaga siya.”

Nevertheless, those recognitions also challenge Paolo to make equally compelling performances in his other projects, just like in My 2 Mommies.

“Lahat ng ginagawa ko gusto ko yung tsina-challenge ko yung sarili ko, so I make sure na 100 percent yung binibigay ko.”

As for his leading lady in his latest movie, Paolo has nothing but good words for Solenn.

This is their first collaboration in an movie, and Solenn is Paolo’s personal choice for the project.

He says about Filipino-French actress, “Everybody look up to her. I really like her personality, at napakatalented nya. Maganda na, brainy pa, plus na yung fit and sexy! Gusto kong maging s'ya, at gusto ko din si Nico" he giggles.

He even recounted that Solenn would always come early to the studio of Eat Bulaga! every time she would have a production number.

“Laging nauuna sa [EatBulaga! sa studio kasi siya gagawa ng make up niya.”

He continued, “Kahit dito gano’n din siya, maaga. Although minsan galing sa iba pang shooting, pagdating dito, hindi papetiks-petiks. Diretso make-up na.

“Sa shoot pa namin dire-diretso, walang pahinga.

“Very nice, kahit ano’ng ipagawa sa kanya, okay!”

My 2 Mommies top-billed by Paolo Ballesteros, Solenn Heussaff and Maricel Soriano opens in cinemas on May 9. It also stars Joem Bascon, Diane Medina, Marcus Cabais, Debraliz,  Mich Liggayu, Billy Ray Gallion and more.

Sylvia Sanchez
Regal Entertainment's opening 2018 with an inspirational drama movie “Mama’s Girl” starring Sylvia Sanchez and Sofia Andres as mother and daughter facing the challenges in life.

“Mama’s Girl” tackles issues facing parents and children today.

"We want to start the year right by giving our audience something that will inspire them more to embrace change, make more time for the people who matter most and live life to the fullest," shared Roselle Monteverde about Regal Entertainment Inc.'s latest offering that will hit cinemas nationwide this January 17.

Roselle Monteverde, said yesterday’s bloggers conference that she cried after watching the final edit of their new film Mama’s Girl. This movie will definitely melt the hearts of those who will watch this, even if you’re a mother, a daughter or a full pledge “mama’s girl.”

"Mama's Girl" will somehow open an issue and try to bridge the gap between the thrill-seeking millennials and the overly concerned older generation.

Sylvia Sanchez was among the most beautiful faces of the ’80s. The veteran actress earned the highest honors in 2017 as she played the part of a memory-challenged mother in TV series, “The Greatest Love.’’

At her age right now, Sylvia shared that she never dreamed that her career will sudden reach it's highest peak to date after The Greatest Love.

Following the success of ‘Greatest Love’, Sylvia plays another important role again in an inspirational movie .

After playing so many mother roles on TV and in films – usually conservative, martyr-like, and frumpy, losyang in her own words,  Sylvia says this movie shows a different mother  “Ibang tipo naman ng nanay ang makikilala ninyo dito, makabago, fighter, a millennial mom. Kung sa 'Greatest Love' at 'Hanggang Saan' ay nakita nyo ako bilang isang martir na ina na isasakripisyo ang lahat para sa anak.

Sylvia considers her first movie this 2018 as a blessing. She said, "Napakasarap sa pusong maging bahagi ng isang proyekto na alam mong may magandang mensahe para sa mga manunuod.”

“This “Mama’s Girl” movie will touch your heart and make you appreciate your family especially your mothers more,”said Sylvia.

At Mama’s Girl” movie, Sylvia and Sofia as mother and daughter facing the challenges in life.

Sylvia is very thankful to all the projects and blessings coming her way especially to Arjo and Ria who already has their own career and has a name of their own in the entertainment industry.

As she described herself, as what kind of their mother, "Gagawin ko ang lahat para sa’yo, pero wag nilang tatapakan ang pagka-Nanay ko. Dapat laging nandun yung respeto."

Sylvia is confident that a lot of people, especially moms and daughters, can relate to the story of her character Mina and her daughter Abby (played by Sofia). She said that through the film, parents and their millennial kids will understand each other's journey.

Sofia, on the other hand, is thankful to the movie as it served as an eye-opener. "My character Abby and I are a bit on the same phase wherein we want to try to be more adventurous to the point that we sometimes overlook our parent's concern. Sa movie, young people like me will realize that there are life lessons that we need to learn the hard way at wala kang ibang dapat gawin kundi matutong manindigan at magbago para sa ikabubuti mo." Sofia's recent movie with Regal Entertainment was Pwera Usog.

This Christmas, Regal Entertainment Inc. introduces "Sitsit" via "Haunted Forest" topbilled by Jane Oineza, Jameson Blake, Maris Racal, Jon Lucas, Joey Marquez and Raymart Santiago.

"If the kids of the 70's 80's 90's and 200's enjoyed different, uniquely-Regal iconic horror creatures like the mananaggal, Aswang, tiyanak, pridyeder, and undin, this 2017 is the perfect time for us to give the new generation of moviegoers-- the millennials and zentennials--with their own uniquely-Regal Horrific character, "Sitsit!" explained Roselle Monteverde, the daughter of Regal matriarch, Mother Lily Monteverde.

This Christmas, "Haunted Forest will take the audience to an uncomfortable place, a realm where nothing is safe. Where everyone can be a victim or the suspect.

“This Time I’ll Be Sweeter” with Ken Chan and Barbie Forteza to spread love, tears and romance

It is easy to love but not easy to forgive. How many times should we forgive the person we love?
Can love be sweeter the second or third time around?

Regal Entertainment Inc.’s most promising romantic film this year: “This Time I’ll Be Sweeter” starring Ken Chan and Barbie Forteza.

A Film by Joel C. Lamangan,This Time I’ll Be Sweeter”, touted to be one of this year’s much-anticipated theater release.

The cast of “This Time I’ll Be Sweeter” with Direk Joel Lamangan and Mother Lily Monteverde during the #TTIBSBlogMediaCon held at the Valencia Events Place, November 3, 2017.

The love story-rom-com-drama film is the first big screen team-up of the “KenBie” love team which was tried and tested already in two TV series - “Tween Hearts” and “Meant To Be.”

Years later, as a reporter, Erika covers an accident which coincidentally involves Tristan's family. The call of duty prompts Erika to communicate with Tristan.
