Regal, all set to offer a new kind of horror via Sitsit... "HAUNTED FOREST" targets thrill-seeking millennial viewers this Christmas

"We will surely be the number one choice of adventurous millennials this Christmas because 'Haunted Forest' was especially made not only for kids and Regal horror fans but primarily to the adventurous and thrill-seeking teenagers who would love to enjoy Christmas with their friends."

This was how the Regal Entertainment Inc. matriarch, Mother Lily Monteverde described her anticipation for the unique success that await Regal's biggest and scariest supernatural teen horror masterpiece and the only horror film in the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2017 -- "Haunted Forest."

"We know that this year's lineup is mostly composed films starred by MMFF blockbuster veterans like Vice Ganda, Coco Martin and Vic Sotto," shared Mother Lily. "However, we believe that the festival and our moviegoers deserve something fresh and exciting. We want to give a chance to young talented actors who excellently gave life to a uniquely-Filipino yet world-class horror film crafted by no less than international award-wining director Ian LoreƱos."

Like Mother Lily, her daughter and seasoned producer Roselle Monteverde believes in the unique charm of the "Haunted Forest" to the moviegoers once MMFF opens on Monday, Christmas Day.
"Every Christmas, it has been part of MMFF viewers' long tradition to watch not just comedy but also horror films," said Roselle. "Kids, horror fans and most especially groups of friends always look forward to the extraordinary thrill and adventure that they experience while watching Regal's horror movies --- the unexplainable joy of sharing the scary and fun moments of the movie together with your barkada. And that's what makes 'Haunted Forest' unique for our young viewers."
Direk Ian further explained, "We assure you that this is not just your typical jump scare movie because 'Haunted Forest' is a film that you have to think about per scene in order for you to feel the horror."

"If you'll watch it with your whole barkada, you will all definitely feel like you are friends with the movie's main cast and you are one with them in solving the puzzle of the story and you will altogether get to know who Sitsit is."

Graded B by the Cinema Evaluation Board, "Haunted Forest" is written by Jeps Gallon and topbilled by some of this generation's best young actors, Jane Oineza, Jameson Blake, Maris Racal and Jon Lucas.

The horror tradition continues for Regal Entertainment Inc. this year with a different type of horror film “Haunted Forest.”

This Christmas, Regal Entertainment Inc. introduces "Sitsit" via "Haunted Forest" topbilled by Jane Oineza, Jameson Blake, Maris Racal, Jon Lucas, Joey Marquez and Raymart Santiago.

Written by Jeps Gallon and under the direction of international award-wining director, Ian Lorenos, making "Haunted Forest" more different, more organic, instead of just screaming and surprising people.

Deals with a dark creature called "sitsit," this year, Haunted Forest is the only horror movie in this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival's line-up.

"Haunted Forest" tells the story of Nica (Jane Oineza), a teenager forced to leave her life behind when her estranged policeman father Aris (Raymart Santiago) got reassigned to the province. The once peaceful town is now haunted by “sitsit,” a supernatural being who preys on women, eventually leaving the victim’s lifeless body in the middle of the forest.

"If the kids of the 70's 80's 90's and 200's enjoyed different, uniquely-Regal iconic horror creatures like the mananaggal, Aswang, tiyanak, pridyeder, and undin, this 2017 is the perfect time for us to give the new generation of moviegoers-- the millennials and zentennials--with their own uniquely-Regal Horrific character, "Sitsit!" explained Roselle Monteverde, the daughter of Regal matriarch, Mother Lily Monteverde.

This Christmas, "Haunted Forest will take the audience to an uncomfortable place, a realm where nothing is safe. Where everyone can be a victim or the suspect.

"This would also not just creating fear, but also reflection our viewers' lives - we'll think about family, friendship, love and what really truly matters for us, " Direk Ian said.

"Meant To Beh" explores true love’s possibilities, proves true love stand the test of time

“Meant To Beh” the latest blockbuster film, as one of the eight official entries of the 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival.

“Meant To Beh” starring Vic Sotto and Dawn Zulueta, Gabbi Garcia, JC Santos, and Baby Baste. Directed by Chris Martinez, Meant to Beh is a story about family, values, love and good vibes.

It tells the story of Ron and Andrea, a couple married out of and how they try to work out their marriage…or not.

During the holiday season, happy families and loving relationships are highlighted amongst the merrymaking of the holidays. With Meant To Beh, moviegoers are treated to this funny and poignant story about the Balatbat family, where they can pick up timely lessons about life and love along the way. Middle-aged couple Antonio (Vic) and Andrea Balatbat (Dawn) try their best to raise their three children, Christian (JC Santos), Alex (Gabbi Garcia), and Riley (Baby Baste).

The Balatbats have a perfect family setup despite the fact that the couple was only forced by their parents to get married when they were younger. These and other issues arise through the years, creating challenges and hardships that threaten the harmony within the family and eventually lead to a point where the couple, realizing that they never really loved each other, decides to separate in order to find themselves.

This decision breaks their children’s hearts and they devise way to get their parents back together again despite both finding new respective partners. It has become their mission to get their parents to fall in love.

The family movie, which Dawn describes as “heartwarming”, is said to be the first “serious” comedy by Bossing Vic Sotto.

He is very proud of the Filipino values that are highlighted, aside from the production’s entertainment value that will be enjoyed by audiences young and old.

“There are no grand special effects this year, unlike the Enteng Kabisote series that we have presented in the past holiday seasons. It is a simple, relatable story that takes a closer look at today’s Filipino families and the values that we cherish.”

The movie, which also stars Sue Ramirez, Ruru Madrid, Andrea Torres, and Daniel Matsunaga is directed by Chris Martinez for Octoarts Films, M-Zet Productions and APT Entertainment.

Meant To Beh: Ika-Something na Utos will make its premiere in Philippine cinemas on December 25, 2017 as one of the eight official entries of the 2017 Metro Manila Film Festival.
