LEGO Opens the FIRST Certified Store in the North and Partners with UNICEF Philippines

Myrnz Roman

The LEGO Northern Invasion happened as LEGO opens the first Certified Store in the North - here in TRINOMA!

Fun, intuitive and simple – these are the hallmarks of toy design that made the LEGO bricks and minifigures the most beloved toys worldwide. A brainchild of carpenter Ole Kirk Kristiansen who introduced it in Denmark stores in 1932, the brand soon went global and it did not take long when it became a hit in the Philippines, earning a steadily growing following from children and those young at heart who use each LEGO piece to build toys and realities straight from their imagination.

Encapsulating the dream of its founder to “inspire and develop the builders of tomorrow,” the global toymaker continues to expand its presence in the Philippine market by opening LEGO’s Third Certified Store in Trinoma Mall, Quezon City on November 12, 2016.

A LEGO Certified Store offers the following unique features that inspire and develop the builders of tomorrow through creative free play and developing the imagination:

  • Pick-a-Brick wall (PAB) – a custom-built fixture filled with LEGO bricks and elements where shoppers can hand-pick and select what they need to build something based on their own design and imagination.
  • Fully assembled LEGO sets around the circumference of the store to inspire LEGO fans.
  • An interactive play area that’s prominently positioned in the centre of the store to give children a “hands-on, minds-on” experience with LEGO bricks.
  • Exclusive LEGO sets are available

The store is the third in a series of stores that will open from Manila to Davao in the country under LEGO’s “Better With Every Brick” campaign.

LEGO together with UNICEF Philippines, UN’s agency that supports children’s welfare, will work together to help build the first National Centre for Children with Disabilities in Philippine General Hospital. To support UNICEF’s program, a portion of the sales at LEGO Certified Stores in the country will be donated for the Centre’s construction. LEGO will also issue a cheque worth Php 500,000 as part of the fundraising drive to raise a total of Php 10 Million for the construction of the Centre.

“The LEGO brand goes beyond being one of the top global toymakers, we are a beloved builder of childhood fantasies. We aim to inspire and engage the world’s builder by injecting fun into play. This partnership with UNICEF Philippines resonates well with this dream to extend the opportunity to help more children by bringing the National Centre for Children with Disabilities to reality,” said LEGO executive.
“And LEGO fans can pitch in this initiative of making the world ‘Better With Every Brick,’” said LEGO executive.
Jan Mitchel Mina, laj Philippines Marketing Manager
The LEGO Northern Invasion would not be complete without exciting deals for the whole month of November:

For a minimum single receipt purchase of P5999.75 on any LEGO item/s from the LEGO Certified Store TriNoma from Nov 12 to 30, 2016, P1000 of the sale proceeds will go to UNICEF to help build the Centre. As an exclusive treat, LEGO fans can get a FREE engraving service on one, white 1x6 LEGO brick to personalize their LEGO Store Sets

Also, LEGO fans and lovers can purchase LEGO poly bags in support of the fundraising campaign for the National Centre for Children with Disabilities where 100% of the proceeds from the sale of each poly bag will be donated to this UNICEF project.

Each collectible poly bag featuring four different designs sells for P100 each and comes from the LEGO Ninjago, LEGO Juniors, LEGO Friends and LEGO NEXO Knights lines.

Last but definitely not the least, the long awaited LEGO Disney Castle Set will have an exclusive first release at the LEGO Certified Store TriNoma! What’s more, for customers who purchase the set, P1000 will be donated on their behalf to UNICEF for the construction of the Centre!

It’s the brick that keeps on building!

Visit the LEGO Certified Store TriNoma at Level 1 Mindanao Wing, open from Mondays to Thursdays from 10:00AM to 9:00PM, Fridays to Sundays from 10:00AM to 10:00PM.

Sarah G launches Sangobion Iron + "Win Your Day" Music Video

SANGOBION IRON+ launches "Win Your Day" music video by Sarah G. and the Anemix Girls

Sangobion IRON+ Brand Ambassador Sarah Geronimo.

The launch of the new campaign, “Win Your Day” establishes Sangobion IRON+ as the blood health expert that talks about the 5 signs of anemia—tiredness, sickly (due to a weak immune system), paleness, distractedness (lack of concentration), and dizziness—and how to prevent or overcome them in order to Win Your Day.

The highlight of the campaign is the “Win Your Day” TV commercial and music video, starring Sangobion IRON+ Brand Ambassador Sarah Geronimo.

Also featured in the video are the Anemix Girls: five women who were able to overcome their anemia with the help of the organic iron supplement.

They are fondly known as Tired Ellaine, Sickly Paula, Pale Sheena, Distracted Princess, and Dizzy Apple.

Selected through a series of Sangobion IRON+ activities that took place over several months last year, the girls went through several tests of physical energy, including a karaoke challenge. Armed with golden voices and the eagerness to win their day, the five stood out from hundreds of candidates and proved to be the perfect companions of Sarah G. in the music video.

Anemia, caused by iron deficiency, can greatly impact a person’s physical and cognitive performance thus affecting the overall work productivity.

In the Philippines, Merck Inc., through the country’s leading iron supplement brand for adults, Sangobion IRON+, has made it its mission to spread awareness for anemia so that more Filipinos can be aware of the condition. In fact, the World Health Organization revealed that between 20 and 39.9% of women in the country aged 15-49 years suffer from anemia (The Global Prevalence of Anaemia in 2011, authored by the World Health Organization).

Merck Inc. Philippines Head of Marketing, Consumer Health, Debbie Go said, “A significant number of Filipinos, particularly women, are affected by anemia and don’t even realize it. We expect that this campaign will encourage them to be more conscious of their blood health, and take the necessary steps to fight anemia so they can go about each day in winning form.”

Professional-quality Photos Right at Your Fingertips

OPPO Philippines launched yesterday their first smartphone of the year, the OPPO F1.

Boasting an amazing front camera, the F1 has been dubbed the “Selfie Expert,” thanks to its mix of hardware and software working together to make every selfie fantastic.

This was emphasized during the launch, with the event setup designed similar to that of a photography studio as guests were given free use of the F1.

New Brand Endeavors for 2016

Besides the F1, OPPO Philippines also announced major partnerships with several organizations.

This year, the company is the title sponsor of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

After collaborating with Home Credit last year to bring the OPPO Neo 7 to more consumers in the country, OPPO has also once again partnered with the global consumer-finance provider to offer Filipinos more options to buy the F1.

From February 19 to March 31, 2016, even consumers who don’t have credit cards can purchase the new camera phone for as low as P1,299 every month for six months at 0 percent interest rate. The promo is available in 245 partner stores nationwide, in all areas serviced by Home Credit.

Can you survive in the wild alone? History Channel brings an exclusive 4D experience in Trinoma

With the launching of its newest survival program “ALONE,” History Channel is inviting everyone to take part in an exclusive 4D experience at the Cinema Lobby of Trinoma Mall in Quezon City on June 20 to 21.

The weekend event will allow everyone to have a feel of what 10 men experienced in the wilderness of Vancouver Island in Canada. The TV show, which is the boldest survival experiment ever attempted, will be premiering on June 22 in more than 200 territories across the globe.

History Channel will let you feel how being alone in the wilderness feels and what to expect from the show before it premieres on TV. The activity will help you understand what the participants went through using a 4D technology.

The show revolves around the contestants who are trying to stay alive as long as they can and whoever lasts the longest will win $500,000. The brave men will enter the backcountry carrying only what they can fit in a small backpack. Each of them has the freedom to choose the 10 items to bring in order to help them survive in the harsh environment where wild animals are present.

These men will hunt, build shelters, and fend off predators. They will face extreme isolation and psychological distress as they plunge into the unknown and document the experience themselves.

The show, which is dubbed as the ultimate test of man’s survival and a first ever attempt of its kind on TV, will have no camera crew and producers to help them in the most difficult and dangerous situations. With no crew behind, the contestants are also tasked to record all the challenges they will face in the wild forest.

The 10 ordinary men, who left their career and family behind, will be dropped off in separate and extremely remote locations and will have no interactions with each other. Each of them will have to depend on their instincts and skills alone.

In the first episode of the series, the contestants will learn what they put themselves into and will realize the struggles that lie ahead.

While each character battles to simply enter the dense forest and find a suitable base camp, they must also find water and make a shelter before night falls and temperatures drop. As the sun goes down, a new challenge presents itself: relentless rains and the struggle to build a fire without matches. Even worse, some find that water, shelter and fire are the least of their worries when the island's large predators wake from their dens and begin to stalk their new neighbors.

The the diverse list of contestants, who are all fans of outdoor activities and survival challenges, includes law enforcement officer Josh Chavez, carpenter Dustin Feher, corrections officer Alan Kay, outdoor gear retailer Sam Larson, former military man Brantley McGee, outdoorsman Lucas Miller, Boy Scouts of America member Mitch Mitchell, family man Joe Robinet, expeditioner Wayne Russell, and post-apocalyptic fiction author Chris Weatherman.

This model will surely capture the hearts of every Filipino customer not only for the young generation but for the young at heart as well.

Equipped with New Generation Intelligent 125cc global engine with cutting edge technological features developed simultaneously with other Honda-dominated-scooter countries like Thailand and Indonesia.

Elie Salamangkit Jr., New Model & Accessory Development Manager of Honda Philippines
Elie Salamangkit Jr., New Model & Accessory Development Manager of Honda Philippines said “the Click 125i is our answer to customers who are looking for Environmental friendly Super Sports Scooter with superior specification, unbeatable features and “futuristic” design. Fortunately for Philippine scooter market, we are not going to wait for the future, but the future will be now with the introduction of the New Click 125i eSP”.

PGM-FI, a technology pioneered by Honda since the introduction of Honda CX500Turbo in 1982, the 1st in the world Fuel Injected Motorcycle is also used in this model. However, the innovation is not focused on the Fuel injection of this scooter.

Every aspect that was developed in the Click 125i is Honda's effort in providing products that delivers better benefits and exceeds customer expectations.

Honda’s dedication to provide the Joy of riding a motorcycle is clearly demonstrated in the use of the revolutionary HONDA SMART TECHNOLOGY.

The Click 125i brings future technology to the present with cut-away innovations never seen before in the local motorcycle history such as Enhance Smart Power (eSP), Idling Stop System (ISS) and trendsetter Combined Brake System (CBS).

While it does not have a “sixth sense” and cannot predict your thoughts or where you want to go, the Click 125i, has its own version of eSP and knows what riders want from their scooters.

Honda’s eSP or Enhanced Smart Power is an advance engine technology that combines high power and high fuel efficiency with a quiet start and smooth eco-friendly engine. eSP technology is able to maximize the efficient combustion and minimize friction to reduce the risk of waste, and to optimize the energy out. eSP technology is integrated with the Unique Honda ACG starter that is able to start the engine jolt free and with a more refined sound, as well as the basis for the application of advanced feature Idling Stop System (ISS). The benefit of Honda Smart Technology is further optimized with the advent of technology Combi-Brake System (CBS) which balances braking the rear wheels and front optimally.

The Honda ACG starter is exclusively developed for comfortable frequent operation of the idling Stop System. The engine is started via the same AC generator used to generate electricity and charge the battery while riding. This eliminates the need for a conventional starter motor, thus there are no reduction gears and gear meshing noises… just smooth, quiet starts.

The PGM-FI built-in Liquid cooled engine boasts of 8.40 kW (11.4PS) @8500 RPM maximum power and 11.16 N.m @6500 RPM maximum torque and delivers class leading fuel efficiency of 64.3 km/liter at 50kph or 58.9KM/liter under ECE R40 testing method *<Actual fuel consumption may be higher or lower depending on drivers habit and actual driving condition>.

The Idling Stop System (ISS) of the Click 125i is one of the reasons for its fuel efficiency. Compared to the conventional engine which continuously consumes fuel once the engine is started, ISS eliminates wasteful fuel consumption by automatically switching the engine off after 3 seconds in traffic lights and other brief stops; and when you have to move all you have to do is just to twist the throttle to Start up and Go in less than a second.

In addition, the New Honda Click 125i eSP also features dependable Honda Safety and Security features like standard automatic Side Stand Switch where the engine does not start up when in the down position, and Brake Lock easily operated to prevent the motor jump when started or remains in the idle state when stopped on a hill. Bigger tubeless tires for better traction and more secure feeling and comfort compared to other brands. Another excellent feature is the ever reliable safety magnetic key (Magnetic Key Shutter) which effectively prevents theft and push-button seat opener. The New Honda Click 125i eSP also has the largest luggage capacity in its class at 18 liters which is capable of storing a Full-face helmet.

Image of this Futuristic Super Sport Scooter is complemented by its Trendsetter LCD Meter Panel and class leading Dual Keen Eyes LED Headlight projecting a commanding “Night-Face-Image”. The LED headlight provides a better advantage for the rider through 80% higher light intensity, 80% more efficient power consumption, and longer lifetime.

Finally, the Adoption of a wide range of low-friction technologies and Excellent Combustion Efficiency of this engine ensures Click 125i’s better fuel efficiency and better total all-around performance.

With the latest technology and appearance, the All New Honda Click 125i is offered at a reasonable price of SRP PhP 87,900.00 and available in 3 premium colors, Pearl Horizon White, Asteroid Black Metallic and Candy Rosy Red with Honda Genuine Accessories in selected Honda 3S shops.

Universal Motion Dancers with Wowie de Guzman and James Salas
The Manuevers with Joshua Zamora and Jon Supan
Sex Bomb Dancers with Jopay Paguia, Jaja Barro and Dona Veligiano

Known for their superb moves and demanding routines, the dancers know too well the importance of being able to move freely without the threat of pain.

A press conference and a throwback concert about Neuropathy Awareness Movement was attended by the officials from Merck Inc. Philippines— the maker of Neurobion, members of the press and bloggers. According to Mr. Louie Roxas, Merck General Manager for Consumer Health said that symptoms of neuropathy which includes numbness and tingling sensations in the arms, legs and hands.

After the presscon, a grand showdown of the greatest dance groups of the early 90′s and 2000 was hosted by dynamic duo of RX 93.1′s The Morning Rush jocks, Chico and Delamar.

Dancing is one of the greatest expressions of the joy of living. Yet, this burst of joyful energy can easily stop when you experience nagging discomforts such as numbness, tingling sensations and body pain.

Pain in the hand, arms and legs caused by nerve damage is called Neuropathy, which can leave you feeling numb, making it difficult for you to function properly. Neuropathy afflicts many Filipinos as early as their mid-20’s, but this condition is often misdiagnosed so they do not receive the proper treatment.
The symptoms of Neuropathy include pangangawit, pamamanhid and tusok-tusok in the hands, arms and legs. The discomfort is often felt in the morning, making it hard to even get out of bed. Such body discomforts can hinder movement, making you feel helpless, out of control and unable to enjoy life.

It is clinically proven that Neurobion® balanced formulation of nerve nourishing vitamins acts at the root of these problems
(Tong HI, Influence of neurotropic vitamins on the nerve conduction velocity. Ann Add Med Singapore, 1980 Jan; 9(1) 65-70). Each tablet of Neurobion® can help maintain healthy nerves, promote efficient nerve function, and reduce pain in the hands, arms and legs caused by Neuropathy.

With the incidence of Neuropathy increasing among Filipinos, the Neuropathy Awareness Movement, spearheaded by Neurobion®, aims to raise awareness on the symptoms and effects of nerve damage. Pangangawit, pamamanhid and tusok-tusok may make it difficult to move, but now you can take action.

With clinically proven Neurobion®, you can help prevent these symptoms so you can move freely, perform at your best, and feel the joy of living again.
