Up Your Family’s Blood Health and Immunity with These 3 Summertime Activities

The sun is out, and the school break is here, which means that it’s finally the season for family vacations and beach trips. But since the current situation calls for more family time spent at home, the young and active kids might have to spend their extra time getting busy on activities within the confines of your household. And while this calls for activities that require participation and creativity of the adults, the scorching heat presents a significant barrier to stay active.

Low intensity physical activities like long walks are much more convenient but having to spend hours outside these days isn’t the most ideal either. However, physical activity is an important part of building up one’s health, as it can help reduce stress, improve sleep quality, strengthen immunity, and improve blood health. It’s never too late to keep your family moving.

Here are 3 fun activities you and your family can bond over at home despite the dry season.

1. Explore Virtual Fun Run Events

Running and building up your cardio doesn’t always require exploration of the outside world. Since the shift to a new normal lifestyle, brands and events that previously held fun run events have adapted to a safer alternative of previous marathons that were held outside. Now, you can register your whole family for virtual races, choose an appropriate distance everyone is able to accomplish, and flash a video on screen while running in place or around your home. Not only is this exciting but it also helps keep everyone in the family active. And the best part is everyone gets rewarded with a medal for finishing the race!

2. Groove and Move with a Dance Party

Running around in one place might not be as enjoyable for everyone in the family. If that’s the case, a dance party is also a great way to have the family bond in movement, learning, and connection, while doing physical activity. Music can make any age naturally move and groove to the beat. Just set a playlist of at least an hour with different genres of music that all ages of the family can enjoy, set the lighting according to the mood and get the dance party started, any time of the day! You can also upgrade the dance party by incorporating a theme where you dress up, use props like glowsticks, ribbons, face paint, and color-changing LED lights. The creative possibilities are endless to keep your loved ones active for a boosted immunity and healthy blood.

3. Peaceful Staycation at Home

Relaxation also strengthens our health just as much as rigorous physical activity. Stress can weaken the body’s immune system leading to people getting sick at stressful and unsure times. While a dance party and an at-home marathon might seem enjoyable to some, for families who prefer activities that don’t require feeling exhausted, or loved ones who have conditions that prevent them to dance or run; a peaceful staycation at home can still help boost their immunity and keep their blood healthy.

A staycation at home can start off with a nutritious breakfast meal with fruits and vegetables, and relaxing music playing in the background. While others prepare for the next meal, the children can be entertained with a short animation film or through a book reading session. Lunch can be setup as a picnic on your backyard, veranda, or terrace. Taking a siesta can help refresh the mind as well. After dinner, a soothing bath can cap off the whole day of relaxation at home.

These 3 summertime activities may help your family moving while reducing stress and building their immunity during the dry season. Yet with age and lifestyle differences of your loved ones, some may need external help to keep their blood healthy that physical activities and relaxation may not be able to provide sufficiently.

Multivitamins + Minerals (Sangobion IRON+) is Your Family’s Blood Health Ally

Multivitamins + Minerals (Sangobion IRON+) is an iron supplement with vitamins and minerals that helps to replenish iron stores and increases red blood cell levels in the body. It has ferrous gluconate, a type of iron salt which allows better absorption of iron in the body, Folic acid, and vitamin B12 which are vital for production of red blood cells and during pregnancy.

It also contains Vitamin C which helps improve iron absorption, and Copper sulphate and manganese sulphate that helps in the metabolic processes of blood cell production.

Recommended intake is one to two capsules daily, during or after meals, or as prescribed by your doctor.

Multivitamins + Minerals (Sangobion IRON+) helps to treat iron deficiency anemia that can lead to weakened immunity and increased susceptibility to infection. Iron deficiency anemia happens when the blood has a lower amount of red blood cells or hemoglobin than normal. This can cause the body to feel weak, tired, dizzy, look pale, and experience headaches.

This year’s summertime activities with the family may be spent at home but the situation can’t stop the fun and relaxation. With a nutritious diet, physical activity, proper sleep, and by taking Multivitamins + Minerals (Sangobion IRON+), you and your family can stay blood healthy all throughout the different Philippine seasons.

If symptoms persist, consult your doctor.

Fatigue Coping Strategies for Healthy Blood and Immunity

Staying at one place for a long duration of time is not the most ideal for social beings like us, humans. Migrating all of the activities we used to do outside of our home certainly added more stress to already very uncertain times. Given the new normal setup stress, you may have experienced some symptoms of fatigue.

Fatigue is a sensation of constant weariness, tiredness, or lack of energy for physical and/or mental activities. It is a symptom caused by a combination of lifestyle, social, psychological and general wellbeing factors.1

Department of Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire stated the department’s concern in a Laging Handa public briefing, “After so many months of being quarantined, people feel restless; people feel anxious; they’re irritable.” She expressed that people need to develop a coping mechanism and accept the fact that things will not go back to the way it used to be and start to transition to the new normal.2

Altering your current lifestyle may sound easier said than done, but these 4 easy and yet effective coping strategies might be what you need to keep a healthy blood and immunity.

1.  Taking Short Walks/Light Exercises

It sounds counterintuitive to go on a walk or do light exercises when you’re already feeling tired for most of the day, but mobility is actually an important component in maintaining a healthy wellbeing as an adult.

Scientists found in a study that exercise boosts your energy level, increases strength and endurance. 3  Light exercises and short walks also stimulate the production of endorphins — the chemical that reduces pain and relieves stress. Not only does this improve your mobility, but it also boosts your immunity.

2.  Having the Right Amount of Sleep

Practicing a healthy sleeping schedule is vital so the body can recharge. 4 Your body follows an “internal body clock” known as circadian rhythms which dictate your cycle of sleep, wakefulness, and alertness. This is influenced by external factors like long working hours, shift work, eating habits, and sleep deprivation. 5

It’s helpful to establish a bedtime routine to achieve the right amount of sleep. Simple cues like putting on pajamas, brushing your teeth, and reading a book helps the body adjust and learn that it’s time to sleep and drift off. Stimulants like caffeine, tobacco, alcohol, and gadgets should be avoided before bedtime.6

The recommended amount of sleep for adults is at least seven hours and no more than eight hours. Try to limit the difference in your sleeping schedule so your body is consistent with its sleep-wake cycle. 7 Your body is programmed to function through habits. By consistent efforts these can greatly help alleviate the feeling of fatigue.

3. Cutting Down on Caffeine and Alcohol

Alcohol raises the body's level of epinephrine, a stress hormone that generally stimulates the body, which can keep you up at night even when you’re supposed to rest. Your body might also urinate more than you usually do when you consume alcohol, which can disrupt your sleeping pattern. 8  Meanwhile for caffeinated drinks, it’s best to consume those with less to no sugar content. When sugar is processed by the body, it can cause a rapid rise in your blood sugar. The sudden spike and succeeding instant fall can make you feel exhausted and tired .9

Dietary changes are a necessary step to address fatigue since your body runs on the energy that you feed it. If you have a habit of consuming caffeinated drinks or alcohol, you might want to slow down to feel less fatigued.

4. Take Multivitamins + Minerals (Sangobion IRON+) Your Health Blood Ally, With Proper Nutrition and Exercise

Fatigue is one of the most common symptoms in people who are experiencing iron deficiency anemia — which happens when the blood has a lower amount of red blood cells or hemoglobin than normal. It causes the body to feel weak, tired, dizzy, look pale, and experience headaches. 10

When unnoticed, iron deficiency anemia can feel like nothing. But as time progresses, the body becomes more deficient of iron, putting immunity and blood health at stake — which intensifies the symptoms and signs of iron deficiency anemia.

Multivitamins + Minerals (Sangobion IRON+) is an iron supplement with vitamins and minerals that helps to replenish iron stores and increases red blood cell levels in the body for those experiencing iron deficiency anemia. It has ferrous gluconate, a type of iron salt that allows better absorption of iron in the body, Folic acid, and vitamin B12 which are vital for the production of red blood cells and during pregnancy. It also contains Vitamin C which helps improve iron absorption, and Copper sulphate and manganese sulphate that help in the metabolic processes of blood cell production.11

With proper nutrition, ample exercise, and by taking Multivitamins + Minerals (Sangobion IRON+), you can maintain immunity and keep your blood health at its peak.

Recommended intake is one to two capsules daily, during or after meals, or as prescribed by your doctor.

The new normal has brought endless challenges and difficult hurdles. As advised by the DOH, we have to accept the reality of the new normal and incorporate healthy coping mechanisms for the security of our wellbeing and immunity. Remember to keep your health in check and practice these coping techniques to lessen the possibility of experiencing fatigue. Keep your blood healthy through proper nutrition, exercise and take Multivitamins + Minerals (Sangobion IRON+).

If symptoms persist, consult your doctor.

Ito ang Dugong Pinoy! 3 Mommies Share How They Keep Their Blood Healthy to Strengthen Their Immunity

2020 has presented numerous challenges to Filipinos, more so, to women. The stress and pressure of pushing forward have left a lot of Filipinas with more on their plates than they could handle. Despite this, women have continued to be the main care providers of their homes, their children, all on top of maintaining a full-time career.

This leaves us wondering, how do Filipinas keep their bodies healthy for their families? We asked three Filipinas how they were able to push through with their daily responsibilities on top of taking good care of their loved ones and still serve as a greater inspiration for many women.

Besides the usual chores and daily tasks, Mommy Jenica shares that she has been busy with her home-based business making cakes and baked goods. With a business that requires her to exert time and attention to detail being loaded with multiple orders, this leaves her exhausted. "’Yung pagod ka na pero mas napagod ka sa ligpitin. But thankfully I have my husband... to help me.” And yet she continues to struggle keeping her health in check since she took on more responsibilities in their household.

Mommy Anne on the other hand, found herself decluttering as her biggest and most fulfilling challenge on top of taking care of her family. She juggles her night shift full-time job and being a full-time mom during the day. “Sleep was something that was so scarce. Still is. And I’m definitely feeling the adverse impact to my health.”

While for Mommy Ria, due to the educational system shifting to homeschooling, she had to take initiative as her child’s teacher. “Preparing lessons and activities took my time and energy on top of the usual household chores and part-time work.”

Like many Filipinas, they have a lot of tasks to do on a daily, which leads them to skip meals and overwork. According to Mommy Anne, the past year has led her to closely monitor her health, which many moms can relate to. With their careers and household responsibilities happening all at the same time, it’s easy to lose track of their immunity. How do they maintain their blood healthy?

With the help of Multivitamins + Minerals (Sangobion IRON+).

By eating nutritious meals, practicing regular exercise, getting proper sleep, and taking Multivitamins + Minerals (Sangobion IRON+) to help maintain their blood health and keep their immunity at its peak. Through these routines, they’re able to keep up with their tight schedules and provide the care that their families need.

Multivitamins + Minerals (Sangobion IRON+) is an iron supplement with vitamins and minerals that helps to replenish iron stores and increases red blood cell levels in the body. It has ferrous gluconate, a type of iron salt that allows better absorption of iron in the body, Folic acid, and vitamin B12 which are vital for the production of red blood cells and during pregnancy. It also contains Vitamin C which helps improve iron absorption, and Copper sulphate and manganese sulphate that helps in the metabolic processes of blood cell production. 1

Recommended intake is one to two capsules daily, during or after meals, or as prescribed by your doctor.

As a blood health ally of many Filipinas, Multivitamins + Minerals (Sangobion IRON+) helps to treat iron-deficiency anemia that can lead to decreased immunity and increased susceptibility to infection. Iron deficiency anemia happens when the blood has a lower amount of red blood cells or hemoglobin than normal. This can cause the body to feel weak, tired, dizzy, look pale, and experience headaches. 2

As 2020 nears its end, Filipinos are hopeful for the positive changes that the new year holds especially to their family’s health. Multivitamins + Minerals (Sangobion IRON+) supports empowered women to maintain their blood health in check and keep their immunity at its peak so they can continue to provide the care that their family needs while being able to accomplish their daily tasks.

If symptoms persist, consult your doctor.

Sarah G launches Sangobion Iron + "Win Your Day" Music Video

SANGOBION IRON+ launches "Win Your Day" music video by Sarah G. and the Anemix Girls

Sangobion IRON+ Brand Ambassador Sarah Geronimo.

The launch of the new campaign, “Win Your Day” establishes Sangobion IRON+ as the blood health expert that talks about the 5 signs of anemia—tiredness, sickly (due to a weak immune system), paleness, distractedness (lack of concentration), and dizziness—and how to prevent or overcome them in order to Win Your Day.

The highlight of the campaign is the “Win Your Day” TV commercial and music video, starring Sangobion IRON+ Brand Ambassador Sarah Geronimo.

Also featured in the video are the Anemix Girls: five women who were able to overcome their anemia with the help of the organic iron supplement.

They are fondly known as Tired Ellaine, Sickly Paula, Pale Sheena, Distracted Princess, and Dizzy Apple.

Selected through a series of Sangobion IRON+ activities that took place over several months last year, the girls went through several tests of physical energy, including a karaoke challenge. Armed with golden voices and the eagerness to win their day, the five stood out from hundreds of candidates and proved to be the perfect companions of Sarah G. in the music video.

Anemia, caused by iron deficiency, can greatly impact a person’s physical and cognitive performance thus affecting the overall work productivity.

In the Philippines, Merck Inc., through the country’s leading iron supplement brand for adults, Sangobion IRON+, has made it its mission to spread awareness for anemia so that more Filipinos can be aware of the condition. In fact, the World Health Organization revealed that between 20 and 39.9% of women in the country aged 15-49 years suffer from anemia (The Global Prevalence of Anaemia in 2011, authored by the World Health Organization).

Merck Inc. Philippines Head of Marketing, Consumer Health, Debbie Go said, “A significant number of Filipinos, particularly women, are affected by anemia and don’t even realize it. We expect that this campaign will encourage them to be more conscious of their blood health, and take the necessary steps to fight anemia so they can go about each day in winning form.”

The Fab and Fierce Way to Go and Love Life!

Love makes the world go round... love makes the people happy... love makes the world beautiful...love makes life colorful... Love is love... Love is Life ... Loving life to the fullest!

What takes most of your time? For most women, the answer will only revolve around family and work. As we all know, it is natural for women to focus on taking care of others.  But as they concentrate on the people they love, they tend to lose focus on their own lives. Some women even end up neglecting their own health and looks.

Merck Philippines launched Sangobion Go Love Life - a campaign that aims to revive a modern woman’s love for life. Last March, Sangobion kicked off the campaign by reminding women of the importance of taking care of oneself and by showing them all the great things that can happen just by changing one’s lifestyle habits.

Through social networking sites, Sangobion challenged women to join the Sangobion 15-day challenge and commit to change for the better. To further promote the challenge, Sangobion launched an online promo that tasked women to submit their pledges to change and to take Sangobion everyday.

Last August 16, Sangobion treated forty lucky ladies to a beauty blowout by expert stylists courtesy of Shu Uemura and Blo Blow Dry Bar. Now, another set of forty lucky ladies were given a fabulous treat! Last October 18, the winners went on a shopping spree and had their own little fashion show at Shine Bakery & Café. Each one was given a chance to shop for her own outfit and to strut like a model. These promo winners proved that Sangobion can truly help empower women to go on and live a better life!

It was one fun, fab, and fierce afternoon that inspired women to push the Go Love Life challenge, to make Sangobion part of their daily habits, and to continue living a healthy lifestyle. More than all the glitz and glam, it was also an educational afternoon as Merck Head of Marketing for Consumer Healthcare Debbie Go and Sangobion brand manager Jio Igual gave tips on how women can look, feel, and be at their best despite their crazy schedules and responsibilities. They also highlighted how Sangobion can help women achieve their ‘better self.’

Taking Sangobion everyday can help boost your iron, so you can look and perform at your best. It has Ferrous Gluconate, an organic iron that helps fight the different signs of iron deficiency such as paleness, fatigue, dizziness, and lack of focus and concentration. This ingredient also puts Sangobion above other iron supplements as it allows better body absorption and has less gastrointestinal side effects. Each capsule is chocolate-scented and leaves no metallic after-taste.

And more than iron, Sangobion also contains essential vitamins and minerals such as Vitamin C, Folic acid, Vitamin B12, Copper, and Manganese sulfate to build healthy red blood cells and immune system. It also has sorbitol that is an anti-constipating agent that helps manage the side effects of iron supplements! This is definitely the supplement a woman needs to focus on loving life and conquering her day-to-day challenges.

Merck Head of Marketing for Consumer Healthcare Debbie Go
There are 24 hours a day, so make sure you spare at least an hour or even just a couple of minutes for ‘me-time.' And even if the spotlight may always be on your family or career, it is not an excuse to lose focus on yourself and to stop you from living the life you love.

Sangobion Go Love Life! Sangobion shows women the value of taking care of oneself & loving life

"Loving yourself first so you can fully embrace the life you lead."

I believe that women are natural nurturers. By nature, we, want to take care of everyone in our lives. Some women love cooking for others, some like to give gifts, while others enjoy lending a helping hand. It is in these acts of kindness that we often feel happy and fulfilled.

Though we have much love to share, we often show love for ourselves the least. But by focusing on our own well-being and pampering ourselves once in a while, we learn that in order to give love, we must begin loving ourselves first.

We should realize how important you are today...Find a way to fill yourself back up so that you can be all that God created you to be!

This is the kind of self-empowerment that Sangobion® (Ferrous gluconate + vitamins and minerals) would like to advocate to women all over. The demands of modern life often make women feel pressured both at home and at work – making it easy for women to neglect themselves.
The Sangobion Go Love Life! campaign reminds women that while we take care of others, we must not forget to take care of ourselves as well. When we are at our best selves, then we can lead a life that we love.
The event demonstrated to women how regularly taking time off and boosting your health with Sangobion® can help you to go and love life. Unlike other iron supplements, Sangobion contains
Ferrous gluconate, an organic iron, which is absorbed better by the body to help fight the signs of iron deficiency. Each capsule is chocolate-scented that leaves no iron after-taste.

Sangobion® also contains essential vitamins and minerals such as Vitamin C, Folic acid, Vitamin B12, Copper, and Manganese to build healthy red blood cells and immune system.

It also contains sorbitol which acts as anti-constipating agent that generally occurs in iron supplementation.

Furthermore, Sangobion® helps fight signs of iron deficiency like fatigue, paleness, dizziness, and lack of focus and concentration which women experience when they neglect themselves. Taking Sangobion® everyday can help you boost your iron, so that you can look and be at your best.

The launch was also the kick-off for Sangobion’s 15-day challenge. In addition to taking Sangobion® everyday for 15 days, these women also made the pledge to practice loving themselves first and to encourage other women to do the same.

Sangobion® is also partnering with select establishments to treat women to special pocket events including a shopping spree and a makeover session, which are expected to draw in more women to the cause.

Sangobion’s new efforts truly show women that caring for others also means having a healthy relationship with yourself. It’s about loving yourself first so you can fully embrace the life you lead.
