OPPO Releases 2023 Sustainability Report on the World Environment Day

On World Environment Day, the leading global technology company OPPO releases its 2023 Sustainability Report. In its fourth annual report, the company reveals its progress and long-term plan towards sustainability. Guided by the mission of “Technology for Mankind, Kindness for the World”, OPPO focuses on five key areas towards sustainable development: virtuous innovation, environmental protection, ecosystem engagement, operation and compliance, and caring for employees.
2023 OPPO Sustainability Report

In 2023, OPPO pledged for the first time to achieve carbon neutrality across its global operations by 2050. Through key actions such as the use of renewable energy and improvements in energy efficiency, the company is already showing progress towards this goal. For example, OPPO has reduced its annual CO2 emissions by 2,819 tons with solar panels and saved 8,947 tons more through energy-efficient manufacturing. The company also prioritizes product lifecycle management by removing plastics from packaging and recycling old smartphones. In 2023, approximately 1.1 million devices were recycled through the Trade-In Service in the Chinese market.

As a corporate global citizen, OPPO also partners with communities, governments, non-profit organizations, research institutes, and its users worldwide to take actions on corporate social responsibility. In 2023, OPPO donated over RMB 23.21 million to education foundations and charity organizations to support environmental protection, youth empowerment, digital inclusion, and health and wellbeing initiatives.

Over the past year, OPPO has continued to innovate and drive the adoption of technology in areas including AI, accessibility, and health. To date, OPPO has filed over 101,000 patent applications globally, of which 91% are invention patents. According to data from the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), OPPO ranked 9th in the number of International Patent Treaty (PCT) applications in 2023, marking the fifth consecutive year OPPO has been in the global top 10. In December 2023, OPPO unveiled AndesGPT, its first self-trained large language model, which was soon followed by its official entry into the Era of AI Phone, and its commitment to making AI Phone Accessible to Everyone. CHERRY Cares re-links their partnership with Pelli-San Corporation


CHERRY's Corporate Social Responsibility arm, CHERRY Cares by MSN Foundation Inc., renews a partnership with Pelli-San Corporation to strengthen the Be Cool in School Program for indigent students from different schools.

Headed by Ms. Michelle Ngu-Cinco, the Board of Trustees Treasurer of MSNFI, the foundation is set to expand its beneficiaries to 10,000 grantees. Along with the representatives in MSNFI: Ms. Venus Tan-Ngu, President; Ms. Agnes Conopio, PR-CSR Head; and executives in Pelli-San Corporation, Ms. Michelle F. Pellices, President; Ms. Kitanya Nadine F. Pellicer, Vice President; Mr. Kyle Albert Miguel F. Pellicer, Director; Ms. Katrina Isabel F. Pellicer, Treasurer; and Mr. Joseph Byron Z. Aquino, National Sales Manager, CHERRY Cares and Pelli-San Corporation plan to allocate the donations in various schools in Manila, Bacolod, Iloilo, Ilocos, Ormoc, Albay, and Sorsogon.

"The renewed partnership between our foundation and Pelli-San Corporation really created a strong relationship as co-partners in bringing forward an accessible education to Filipino children and students. It is a privilege that we can add support to the academic sector, so we ensure that we widen the target beneficiaries as time goes by," shares Ms. Venus Tan-Ngu, President of MSNFI.

Moreover, this project has been steadfast in bringing the initiative to promote the quality of education as well as providing educational equipment and other related learning materials to public schools and non-profit educational institutions in far-flung areas or those with limited resources. Through the partnership with Pelli-San Corporation, 10,000 pieces of UNI 3-in-1 Eco Pens will be included in CHERRY Cares' Bags of Hope. These bags and packages included will hopefully become a partner for their learning process.

Ultimately, this annual project will operate during the school openings. In taking this advocacy as a step towards a brighter future, both corporations are driven by the core values that establish the desire to help and advocate for children's right to a basic education.

SB19's Stell launches solo career with debut single, ‘Room,’ released under Warner Music Philippines


As Stell launches his solo career with the much-anticipated release of his debut single, “Room,” Warner Music Philippines is thrilled to welcome the soulful singer of the acclaimed P-Pop group SB19 into its impressive roster of Filipino artists.

Starting with this new release, Warner Music Philippines in partnership with 1Z Entertainment, Stell’s management, hopes to explore Stell’s artistry with songs that will continue to showcase his wide vocal range punctuated by his mesmerizing delivery, soaring high register, and heart-melting falsetto. With the label’s guidance, Stell may be on his way to becoming the next most sought-after Filipino pop star.

Stell performed “Room” live for the first time in front of family, friends, lucky fans, and members of the media at Teatrino in Greenhills, San Juan.

Part of the promotional efforts set up by 1Z Entertainment – on June 16, which is also his birthday, Stell will perform “Room” on GMA’s All Out Sundays and an exclusive interview will air on Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho. Two days later, on June 18, Stell will open for Hitman David Foster and Friends Asia Tour 2024 concert at the Araneta Coliseum.

This will be followed by a North American tour in the US and Canada from June 22 to 30 as part of the MilEStone Tour of Erik Santos, where Stell is a special guest. On July 1, Stell will appear as a live guest on Wish Bus USA. On July 27 and 28, Stell will headline a Manila concert, Ang Ating Tinig, with Julie Anne San Jose.

As a musician, dancer, actor, and host, Stell has so much to offer and is committed to exploring all possible avenues as a solo performer. Transcending genres, Stell will work in close collaboration with Warner Music Philippines and other artists who share his passion for music.
