CHERRY, through its Corporate Social Responsibility arm, CHERRY Cares, launches a month-long Free ECG Testing in celebration of National Heart Awareness Month.
  • Tondo Medical Center volunteers using the CHERRY Smart Blood Pressure Monitor
With heart disease remaining the leading cause of death globally, it is imperative to raise awareness about the importance of heart health and early detection of cardiac issues. ECG (Electrocardiogram) testing is a simple and non-invasive procedure that can detect abnormalities in the heart's electrical activity, aiding in the early diagnosis and prevention of heart-related complications.

CHERRY Cares is spreading the love by offering a free ECG testing to 100 indigent patients at Tondo Medical Center. Further, five units of CHERRY Smart Blood Pressure Monitor are donated to the aforementioned medical center. By integrating advanced features and connectivity options, these devices offer a range of advantages for healthcare providers and patients alike.

"We want to encourage heart health and wellness within our community. Hence, individuals can take proactive steps toward understanding and safeguarding their heart health," said Agnes Conopio, PR-CSR Senior Manager, CHERRY.

The free ECG testing initiative will be available to indigent individuals of all ages throughout the month of February. Participants will have the opportunity to undergo a thorough examination conducted by certified healthcare professionals, with results provided.

CHERRY Cares is committed to raising awareness and providing resources for prevention and treatment, ensuring that everyone, regardless of socioeconomic status or background, has the opportunity to live a heart-healthy life.

Pawsitively Impactful: CHERRY Cares supports Animal Shelters through its Project Pa-Help Paw

CHERRY Cares, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of CHERRY Philippines, has embraced a commitment to support local animal shelters through its project Pa-Help Paw.

The special project Pa-Help Paw started in December of 2021. It strives to promote animal welfare by giving food, medications, CHERRY Pet products, and other necessities to predetermined animal rescue agencies and recipients.

At the core of CHERRY Cares’ initiatives lies a genuine concern for our four-legged friends. By reaching out to San Mateo Municipal Pound and House of Strays, the company has taken significant steps to address the growing challenges faced by these shelters. Dog food, cat food and pet shampoo were allocated to aid the overall maintenance of the facilities.

“When we say inclusivity, this includes our fur families through our Pa-Help PAW Project. This is one of our ways to give back and create a happy and healthy relationship with our pets. Let us treat them as part of our family and give them equal rights rather than just co-existing,” says Ms. Agnes Conopio, PR-CSR Head, CHERRY.

This initiative has unlocked our fur-mily’s strong bonds with their humans and encouraged positive behaviors free from abuse, neglect, and abandonment.

CHERRY Cares continues to spark hope on the fourth year of its Project Twinkle

CHERRY Cares, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of CHERRY Philippines, is once again making a meaningful impact on the community through its Project Twinkle. Since 2021, it has been a CSR program aimed at promoting the giving spirit over the holiday season.

This year, the focus is on reaching out to different child-care institutions, home for the elderly, street families, and the IP community. CHERRY Cares extends support to MBTC Manila Kids Home, Concordia Children Services, Inc., the Minstrels Rythym of Hope Foundation, Kanlungan sa Er-Ma, Reception and Study Center for Children (RSCC), Laura Vicuña Foundation, and House of Somang in Parañaque. In addition, the hope to bring a touch of warmth is also sent to the IP community of Sitio Magata, Tanay Rizal.

With a simple yet worthwhile get-together, the organization aims to create a space of happiness. Jollibee meals and Cosmic Plush Toys were given to the young hearts who have faced neglect, abandonment, and abuse. Moreover, CHERRY Cares also did the extra mile to ensure that the gifts distributed align with the practical needs of the recipients by granting their wish list. Essential food items and hygiene kits are provided, emphasizing the importance of their well-being.

Meanwhile, CHERRY Cares demonstrates that the holiday season is not only about festive decorations and celebrations but also an opportunity to make a positive difference in the lives of those less fortunate. The distribution of Media Noche package has reached 100 street families from different districts of Manila in coordination with DSWD-NCR.

“We are happy to light up lives and make this season brighter through our Project Twinkle. We’ve been doing this for quite some time. This is our CEO, Mr. Maynard Ngu’s way of returning the gratitude by simply giving back,” shares Agnes Conopio, PR and CSR Senior Manager of CHERRY.

As we conclude Project Twinkle 2023, one thing becomes abundantly clear: the spirit of generosity transcends the exchange connection that binds us all. Whether through a helping hand, a warm meal, or a simple act of kindness. For in giving, we receive the priceless gift of a more connected, resilient, and compassionate world."
