Bea Alonzo and Zanjoe Marudo from friends to lovers in 24/7 in love!

24/7 In Love is the Star Cinema’s offering in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Star Magic.

Bea Alonzo and Zanjoe Marudo, though real-life lovers,  swore they won’t work with each other in a project, both couldn’t say no to the roles of Belle and Butch, respectively.

“Siyempre umoo ako kaagad agad kasi star magic yuh  eh. Siyempre wala ka naman ibang gagawin kundi mag support sa pamilya mo ‘di ba? So walang pagdadalawang isip akong umoo.” Bea shared regarding her role in the talent management’s first venture into producing a full-length film.

Can a Gay Man Fall For His Girl Best Friend?  What made the project very interesting yet funny for Bea and Zanjoe is that they will be playing odd couple, Belle and Butch. Belle falls for her best friend Butch, but the problem is Butch is in love with - another man.

Bea said as she laughingly described what becoming Belle was like.

“Ngayon lang ako nagportray ng role na ganito ka-persistent, ganito ka-obsessed sa isang character din, at saka first time ko magkaroon ng character na nainlove sa isang becky!”

Zanjoe on the other hand, had doubts in playing the fashion-savvy Butch.

“Mas magaling siguro kung gumawa ng role eh totoong gay ‘di ba? Haha! pero siyempre nakaka-proud din na yung mga tao may tiwala sa ‘yo. Unang-una, ako kaya din lumakas loob ko para gawin yun dahil may mga tao na naniniwala sa kakayahan ko.”

Bea felt weird at first working with Zanjoe for the first time since they became an item, his gay character made her more at ease than having him play a more serious role. “It was weird acting with him, buti na lang malaking difference 'yung character niya sa totoong buhay, kasi kung hindi siguro I’d be feeling more awkward than how I’m feeling now.”

Zanjoe agreed that it was indeed a challenge but fun working with his girlfriend. “Nakatulong kasi yung role ko medyo iba at least mas magiging komportable ako na gawin ‘yun sa harapan niya dahil alam ko naman na hindi niya ako ija-judge at tutulungan niya pa ko, pwede ako humingi ng mga tips. Ayun ang saya nung shooting namin kasi si Bea yung katrabaho ko, mas komportable ako, na inaakala ko dati na mahirap umarte sa harapan niya.”

Bea and Zanjoe’s episode is directed by Mae Cruz. 24/7 In Love will be shown on November 21 in theatres nationwide.

Piolo Pascual, Zaijan Jaranilla and Xyriel Manabat team up for “24/7 In Love!”

The 24/7 In Love movie is a celebration of Star Magic’s growing family in its 20 years of producing home-grown talents for ABS-CBN. Piolo Pascual describes the upcoming Star Cinema offering in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Star Magic, “24/7 In Love.”

“It was timely because we’re celebrating 20 years of Star Magic and kami bilang magkakapatid sa Star Magic, we wanna be able to have more fun and it’s not always about work, so we look forward to this. It’s anticipated because magkakasama kami, so nung pinresent siya sa akin I didn’t think twice about accepting it.”

“It’s all about love being 24/7 in love and every minute, every day there’s love in the air, kaniya-kaniyang storya ng pagmamahal.”

Piolo shares the limelight in one of the episodes with child wonders Zaijan Jaranilla and Xyriel Manabat, whom he has worked with in the teleserye “Noah.” Piolo is Pipoy, a 35-year-old mentally challenged man who lives in an orphanage and is happy spending his days with his best friend, 10-year-old Jomar. However, their friendship is shaken when new girl Ayie, played by Xyriel, enters the picture.

For Piolo, playing Pipoy is his most challenging role to date.

“For me it’s my most challenging role. Akalain mo ba naman na at my age gaganap ako na 7 years old at ka-love team ko si Xyriel and ka-love triangle ko si Zaijian ‘di ba?” he reveals with a laugh. “I level with them. I level with Xyriel and Zaijian. Nakikipagkulitan ako sa set, mas madali kasi walang worries eh. Bata kasi, walang problema, so naisip ko habang nagshu-shoot ako, sabi ko, ‘sarap pala maging bata kasi wala kang iniisip na problema, trabaho ka lang, acting ka lang.’ Ganun lang pala kasimple.”

Zaijan and Xyriel also find working with their Kuya Piolo a lot of fun. “Masaya pong ka-eksena si Kuya Piolo. Magaling, mabait, at saka pag sa eksena focused talaga,” Zaijan says of his co-star. “Nagkukulitan po kami and inaasar ko po siya na siya si Budoy hehe,” Xyriel shares, even adding that her character has a super crush on Piolo.

For the kids, their episode has a very simple message to the audience. “Maging mabuting magkaibigan, huwag magseselos saka laging magbibigayan.”

Piolo, Zaijan and Xyriel’s episode is directed by Dado Lumibao and will be shown on November 21 in theaters nationwide.

Coca-Cola opens the Christmas Holiday by Tree Lighting Event at the Araneta Center

The Christmas holidays are fast approaching. Spreading  joy and happiness and bringing smiles to the faces people, Coca-Cola opens the Christmas Holiday by Tree Lighting Event at the Araneta Center.  Many happy people watch the actual lighting of Coca-Cola Christmas tree. The giant Christmas tree stands 100 feet and with over 10,000 lights.
The tradition of happiness lives on at the Coca-Cola Tree Lighting last Saturday November 9! This is a towering reminder to the Filipinos to let happiness live on. Families and friends gather around the biggest tree in the country to collectively open happiness.

Despite a trying year, the Filipinos continue to show the rest of the world what it means to be happy. Faced with economic, social and environmental challenges, we turned these into an opportunity to show that even though we are beaten to the ground, we find ways to rise up and collectively buoy each other up back to happiness. Thus, our nation’s collective happiness is brighter than ever. Coca-Cola is inspired by this unique Filipino story.

On its 100th year, Coca-Cola pays tribute to the Filipinos for believing in happiness. The magical season of Christmas is the perfect backdrop to rally the Filipinos to continue believing in happiness. Coca-Cola sparks among us this season that it is not about the big gifts nor the big gestures that make Christmas special, but rather the small and meaningful things that we express and share with one another – the warm and welcoming spirit, the acts of generosity and even shared meals - to make someone happy.

Coca-Cola kicked off the tradition of happiness through a simple celebration. A Grand Christmas Salu-Salo was prepared and shared among the attendees. The salu-salo table was joined by Coca-Cola and Araneta Center officials, media, Bb. Pilipinas winners, and a roster of Kapuso and Kapamilya.

The celebrities from Kapamilya  network who joined the event were KZ Tandingan, Matteo Guidecelli, Enrique Gil, Jessy Mendiola and Joseph Marco. From the Kapuso, stars joined the the event were Thea Tolentino, Alden Richards, Louise delos Reyes and Jeric Gonzales.

This celebration was hosted by ABS-CBN’s  Robi Domingo and Megan Young. X-Factor Philippines Grand Champion KZ Tandingan performed and she sang the official Christmas theme song of Coca-Cola entitled “Ako.”
I'm glad to see my friends, the OPM boyband 1:43 performed as the finale number.

Everyone enjoyed this celebration with the flowing food, and giveaways,  cupcakes, cotton candy, popcorn, ice cream and  the refreshing Coca Cola drinks!

And what better way to enjoy all of these yummy treats but be complimented by no more than the Filipino family’s meal partner for 100 years—Coca-Cola.
Cecile Alcantara, President of Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines and Adel Tamano, Public Affairs and Communications Director of Coca-Cola Philippines shared exciting news on the delivery and soon turnover of the 100th schoolhouse in Matuog Elementary School, Tayasan, Negros Oriental. This is a response to the commitment made earlier in the year to bring more happiness to Filipinos by providing access to quality education.

Coca-Cola President Guillermo Aponte also gave an inspiring message that highlighted the importance of 100 years of happiness. The Coca-Cola President headed a toast joined by celebrity guests, government officials, Araneta Group Officials and media friends. This symbolized the company’s commitment to open more happiness to Filipinos in the next 100 years to come.

Through this annual celebration, Coca-Cola continues to inspire and encourage Filipinos to share more moments of happiness.

Coca-Cola encourages you to go and make someone happy today, because we believe that the more happiness we share, the more happiness will also return to us.

Enjoy the wonderful world of Coca-Cola! To the next 100 years of happiness!
Ituloy ang Happiness!
