Isabelle de Leon with her debut album "LoveZone" under PolyEast Records

PolyEast Records introduces Isabelle de Leon with a debut album “LoveZone”

Former award winning child actress Isabella de Leon, known to many as "Duday" in the sitcom Daddy Didodu, is now a lovely lady, super talented singer / songwriter. She writes all the music and lyrics of songs in her album LoveZone. Isabelle de Leon, heart-warming and lyrically clever is with a debut album under PolyEast Records, laden with elements of folk, rock and pop into her unique signature sound.

Music has always been a part of me as a kid – it has kept me going. I write songs to tell stories, I sing because I want to share it.”
So beautiful, refreshing and awesome talented and now poised to be the next big PolyEast Records talent, Isabelle is out to prove herself as an artist with an album that has as much substance as her colorful young life experiences, formidable songwriting chops and prodigious skill with her instruments.

I'm really so happy to see her now, the one I really admire during her child days. Gladly we meet and had talks with her as casual but amazingly, her voice is so beautiful and she's brilliantly talented girl. She sings while playing the guitar and dance as everyone listening feel the beat.
During the presscon/blogcon held at the PolyEast Records office last March 5,  she candidly answered questions from the press and bloggers. She told us that she begin voice workshop, learning different musical instruments since after the TV and movie experiences, that was when she was 12 years old. And now, as a lady, writing all songs and giving music to all she writes. 18-year-old Isabelle continues to write songs from her heart and plays several musical instruments as inspired by her musician dad who taught her to play the guitar, bass, drums, piano and harmonica.

Her sound is worldly, a fusion of not only her upbringing but also exhibits the diversity of her influences like The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan, the Carpenters, Led Zeppelin, Steven Tyler, Robbie Williams, U2, Coldplay, Michael Jackson, Katy Perry, Adele, Enya and Noel Cabangon. And she loves filipina rock singer Sampaguita.

She describes the radio single “1 Week To Move On” as “dealing with the raw emotions around heartbreak” all infused in a melodic pop-rock hook.
Her guitar-driven narrative “Feelingero” fits in gentle humor in young love…and she wrote it because of love experiences of her best friends while “Friend Zone” speaks of unrequited love.

Isabelle goes playfully poetic yet inspirational in “Alice Wonders” and “Pag-ibig Ko’y Sayo” speaks of love that is unconditional.

“Magtatago ako sa init ng iyong yakap” is the line that says it all in her comforting track “Sa Yakap Mo”.

Isabelle shared two things that are essential in an artist, the ability to relate to people’s daily lives and the power to express emotions in new and powerful ways.

“I want to sing songs I have a real connection to. Songs that have moved me or those who’ll be listening to my music ,  be it love in all its grandeur or love lost. Isn’t it a relief when you hear songs that say exactly what you feel?”
LoveZone was released this February under PolyEast Records.

Here's the Track List of LoveZone :

1.  FEELINGERO
2.  1 WEEK TO MOVE ON
3.  ALICE WONDERS
4.  PAG-IBIG KO'Y SA YO

Tippy is nominated as Best New Female Actress by the Star Awards for Movies for her outstanding portrayal in the movie.

"To be casted in Idobidoobidoo alone was already such a big blessing, I got to work with such a brilliant and very nice director, direk Chris Martinez, and I was able to work with the most talented people in the industry, My Dad, Tito Gary, Mommy Zsazsa, Tita Uge, Tito Ogie and others, but to also be nominated for an award, is just an even bigger gift,” says Tippy.

“I am not expecting anything, but to be nominated is already a prize for me. Idobidoobidoo is nominated for more than 10 awards, so I am really thankful that I was chosen to be part of that landmark film.”

Must Be . . . Love with KathNiel

Must Be . . . Love is about the two young boy and girl as childhood best friends Pachot and Ivan. Kathryn plays Patchot, the tomboyish best friend of Ivan (Daniel Padilla), who grows up in a family of men. Boyish as Patchot may be, she has a secret crush on Ivan but pushes aside her feelings for the sake of their friendship. It is only after Ivan becomes her cousin's boyfriend does Patchot again acknowledge what she feels and tries to see if she does have a chance with the guy whom she's loved for the longest time.
Last Monday, (March 4)  we enjoyed talking with Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, Director Dado Lumibao and writer Ms. Melai Monge who appeared during the blogger's conference held for their upcoming movie, Must Be Love. They candidly answered the questions on their personal feelings about the movie , work, friendships and relationships
Kathryn relate to the role of Patchot. "Kabaliktaran po kasi ako ni Patchot, lumaki po ako sa family na all girls kaya hindi ko napagdaanan yung pinagdaanan niya, lumaki na rin naman po ako with my dad and mom. Pero, nakarelate na po ako sa kaniya sa bandang huli, yung nagiging conscious siya, nung nagta-transform na siya."
She said that she hopes that fans of Princess and I will find their movie just as enjoyable to watch. Kathryn said there are “kilig” scenes which are wholesome but fun to watch.
At 16, she is super happy for they are giving these projects. "Sinabi po nila na hindi lahat ng nagte-teleserye nabibigyan ng chance i-prove ang sarili nila sa movie. So, nung nalaman namin na magkakaroon kami ng launching movie, super saya kami kasi nabigyan kami ng chance, simuportahan nila yung movie, kaya super saya po namin."
"Nakita po nila na natural kami, hindi yung concsious sya sa galaw, DJ very rockstar,  nag na opposite po kami pero pag kasama kami di nag clash kaya interesting nakikita nila."Daniel was asked if becoming an actor was natural to him as he is, after all, part of the Padilla clan, counting Robin Padilla as an uncle.

About new discoveries of Kathryn while making the movie?
"Sa tagal po namin ni Kathryn na magkasama sa Princess and I, parang wala na, simula pa lang, feeling ko nagtatantiyahan na kami ni Kathryn, kaya hanggang ngayon nakuha na namin yung ugali ng isa't-isa."

Direk Dado expressed admiration for Kathryn and Daniel. The two young celebrities appreciate all the people who support them. They always wave and greet to their fans even they feel tired. Direk shared to us that he never experience any difficulties in shooting with KathNiel. “Mayroon talagang mga pagkakataon na medyo mababa ang energy kasi napapagod din sila, pero madali silang kausap, madaling i-motivate, madaling pagsabihan, kaya pagsabi ng ‘action!’ ready na agad!”

Must Be...Love stars Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla, John Estrada, Ramon Christopher Gutierrez, Jon "Sweet" Lapus, Paul Salas, Arlene Muhlach, Janus Del Prado, Sharlene San Pedro, Kit Thomson, K Brosas, and Liza Soberano.

Must Be . . . Love a movie from Star Cinema directed by Dado Lumibao , showing on March 13, 2013.

Amina Aranaz-Alunan balances her life as mom, educator, and entrepreneur—thanks to Globe Business

As an entrepreneur, bag designer, and style icon Amina Aranaz-Alunan is a respected name in fashion circles; to the students of SOFA (the School of Fashion and the Arts, of which she is a co-founder), she is a tireless and generous mentor—but Amina admits that while she is passionate about everything she does, what she looks forward to is coming home and being a mother to her three kids.

“To be able to fulfill all my responsibilities and still have time for my children, I always plan my schedule very carefully,” she said, adding that attending to her husband Rafa Alunan and their kids is always a priority even in the midst of all her work.

Recently Amina, the teacher and school director that had to step up during the graduation of seventeen SOFA students. They all completed SOFA’s Fashion Design and Marketing program—and Amina is proud of all of them.
According to Amina, she feels a special kind of fulfillment as a teacher when she sees hard-working students finish a program.

“I’m amazed at seeing how our students change and bloom. I love seeing them transform year after year. They walk in sofa with nothing but their passion and raw talent and emerge a different person. Equipped with a set of design, technical and business skills, they are more confident, focused and aware of their direction and capabilities. They are ready and driven to embrace their career goals and challenges,” said Amina.

At SOFA, students are taught the entrepreneurial aspects of fashion as well. Amina said that these subjects are necessary for anyone who wants to be a professional in the fashion industry—something that could be surprising for some students.

“Admittedly our students in SOFA like the design subjects more. However, they do appreciate and value the importance of the business subjects as well. We want to make them understand that any creative endeavor must always be supported by a business backbone for it to thrive and grow,” she said.
Amina, who is also a Globe Business Ambassador, has a formidable workload as a school director and faculty member at SOFA. According to her, she is able to stay grounded and balanced—able to do her work and take care of her family—through a) managing her schedule well; and b) using modern telecoms technology.

“I play various roles in the school: over-all vision building, fashion department chairperson, teacher, marketing, and admissions. Carefully planning my schedule is crucial. Also, being accessible via cellphone and the Internet allows me to manage the school even when I am elsewhere,” she said.

Amina said that Globe Business solutions and services help her fulfill her passion as a teacher while still letting her be an entrepreneur, wife, and mother. “Globe Business solutions allows me to attend to my various roles without being absent from my other responsibilities. It keeps me connected to all the parts of my life,” she said.

According to Manny Escosa, Globe Business Marketing Head for SMBs, multi-tasking entrepreneurs like Amina can benefit from several Globe Business solutions that will help them live a more balanced life.

“Globe Business is providing easy, affordable, and reliable solutions to Filipino entrepreneurs who need to get several things done within a short period of time. An SMB owner’s time is very valuable—not only to his business but also to his family. Through our solutions, we are empowering Filipino entrepreneurs to be more flexible and in control of their time. In this way, they can grow their business while still having the opportunity to enjoy life to the full,” said Escosa.

For example, entrepreneurs may avail of TxtConnect, which lets them send a high volume of text messages. It’s a Web-based service that broadcasts SMS messages to groups of people using a computer with an Internet connection. This makes it easier to send SMS blasts in just one broadcast, with just a few keystrokes on the computer.

Messages sent through TxtConnect are secured through its masking technology—this ensures that the recipients only get official and appropriate messages, instead of spam or other unwelcome message blasts.

TxtConnect also charges rates that are much lower than regular text messaging or phone calls. Subscribing to TxtConnect results in as much as 35 percent in saved cost compared to the regular text messaging service charges.

Another solution for entrepreneurs is Business Capped Plans. These plans set a cost ceiling for the use of the company’s mobile phone accounts every month.

A Business Capped Plan provides a monthly load allowance that serves as a cap or limit on company mobile phone credits. For example, if a Business Capped Plan has a monthly allowance of P600 per month, the company only pays for that amount.

Business Capped Plans have an Unli Call feature that allows unlimited calls within the Globe and TM network. Those who subscribe to Business Capped Plans would also receive mobile phones as part of the package.

In case a Business Capped Plan’s allowance is used up, an employee can simply reload his SIM with regular Globe credits. Business Capped Plans also allow users to avail of Globe’s various prepaid promos, like Supersurf and various Unli services.

Amina knows the difficulties of building a career in fashion firsthand. After finishing her university studies, she worked at a stylist for a Filipino fashion magazine and even did a bit of modeling—but she knew that she still had a lot to learn. Eventually, she went to Milan to study fashion at the Instituto Maranggoni.

When she returned to the Philippines, everything she learned about fashion as an art and as a craft came in handy when she began designing and producing the ARANAZ brand of stylish bags. Thanks to Amina’s creative, innovative, and beautiful designs, ARANAZ bags are now much sought-after fashion must-haves—in the Philippines and overseas, as well.

Now that she’s become a fashion icon, Amina wants to help out other Filipinos who want to have a career in the fashion business—but don’t know how to get the proper education and training. Her approach was to establish what is, arguably, the best fashion school in the Philippines. It’s her way of giving back to the fashion industry which has been good to her.

According to Amina, founding and running SOFA isn’t easy—and was very challenging in the beginning.

“Running the school is a lot of pressure on us. Our goal is to contribute to the growth and progress of our local creative industries; this is what keeps us going. We hope that our country will be able to produce an increasing number of creative professionals and homegrown brands that, eventually, will reach the world market. SOFA has exceeded my expectations. It started out as a risk, now it is a risk that I am glad that I took,” she said.
