Here's A New Story Revealed as Wafu Celebrates it’s 4th Anniversary

The story of Wafu began in 2012. Established by Bryan Tiu, the visionary behind brands such as Teriyaki Boy, Peri-Peri Charcoal Chicken, and Ichiba: Japanese Market.

Bryan Tiu

Bryan Tiu prides himself in being an International Trend Spotter and Local Trend Setter. Through his vision, Wafu was created in a two storey building in the heart of Greenhills, Wafu sought to redefine the Japanese dining experience by combining deliciously authentic Japanese cuisine with posh and stylish interiors.

As guests step through the doors of Wafu, they are given a choice:
The main dining area in the ground floor which features a high ceiling and sophisticated interiors, which include the iconic 3 lotus pod dining tables by famed designer, Amy Pamintuan;
Or the more casual, teppanyaki area at the second floor, where skilled chefs prepare the food right before their eyes.

This year, Wafu celebrates it’s 4th Anniversary and a new Chapter in it’s story. This new chapter unveils a new and improved Wafu, featuring a new executive chef, a new menu, better ingredients airflown straight from Japan, and a slew of upcoming activities.

Wafu Executive Chef, Onishi Nobuyoshi, or "Chef Nobu"

Chef Nobu

In line with its 4th Anniversary, Wafu introduces its new Executive Chef, Onishi Nobuyoshi, or Chef Nobu. Chef Nobu hails from Osaka and moved to Tokyo to pursue his dream of becoming a Master Sushi Chef. He achieved more than 30 years of experience working in prestigious sushi restaurants in the Ginza Tokyo area. Prior to coming to Wafu to head the kitchen team, Chef Nobu was a Master Sushi Chef of the highly prestigious Midori Sushi. Now, Chef Nobu, lends his years of experience to ensure that every dish served in Wafu follow the highest standards of quality and authenticity.

New, Authentic and Affordable Menu

With a new executive chef comes a new Wafu menu. Featuring improved Wafu favorites as well as all new items, the new Wafu menu gives you an authentic taste of Japanese cuisine. And better still, the new Wafu menu phases out the old Wafu Elite Card, and the discount normally associated with the card has been applied directly to the menu, making great Japanese food now more affordable.

Airflown

The dishes themselves, have their own story, and their story begins at the source. The secret to great Japanese cuisine is the ingredients. The fresher and better the quality, the better the experience. That’s why at Wafu, we air fly our ingredients straight from Japan. The choicest ingredients and the freshest catch of the day, are picked and air flown straight to Chef Nobu and his team in Wafu. Through their skilled hands, these choice ingredients are then artfully crafted into an authentic experience that celebrates Japanese culture with every bite. Milestones more Special

All together, Wafu offers the perfect venue for celebrating milestones, hosting of an important business meeting, or even everyday meals during the work week. Under the helm of a new chef, a wide selection of authentic Japanese cuisine made more affordable, and ingredients flown in fresh from Japan, Wafu makes these moments extra special. Guests even have a choice celebrate in the restaurant surrounded by the luxe ambiance, or by having cater their celebration in a venue of their choosing.

The story doesn’t end there though. Wafu celebrates it’s 4th anniversary with three major celebrations this year.

Michael Learns To Rock Celebrates 25th Anniversary with Release of EP

‘With Love’, the new EP from Michael Learns To Rock will be released digitally and on radio on May 06th. It features 2 brand new songs 'Dream Girl', 'Crushing Blue' and the 2 singles released prior over the last 6 months, 'I'll Wait For You' and 'We Shared the Night'.
“ 'Dream Girl' is very special to us. We had this song with us for quite some time but could not find the right time to release it. After various transformations and rewrites, we are now very proud of this version and we cannot think of a better time than now to share this with our fans to close off our 25th Anniversary celebrations, and just before Mother's Day weekend.” – Jascha Richter

Michael Learns To Rock's 25th Anniversary Celebrations officially came to a close when they performed the last of their '25Live' shows in China last week.
"The last 15 months or so have been very busy for us, writing, recording, producing and releasing music whilst touring the World all at the same time. But we were very happy to have that opportunity to do that for our fans. And like they say 'all good things must come to an end'. However we are looking forward to the next phase of our career. As a token of our love and appreciation to our fans who helped us celebrate our 25th anniversary, to those who came to our shows, we are releasing a new EP titled 'With Love' to close up our 25th Anniversary Celebrations”. – Kare Wanscher
2015 was a very busy year for Michael Learns To Rock as they were celebrating their 25th Anniversary. The celebration started 18 months ago when they re-released their first 5 studio albums in remastered deluxe editions followed by their most comprehensive greatest hits collection simply titled '25'. Shortly after, the band started to tour with their ‘25Live’ show which took them to Asia many times over.
'We have been traveling to Asia every chance we got when we were not touring somewhere else in the World. Our fans have been amazing, and we have been getting constant requests to come back and perform for our fans. It feels really great, and the energy of our fans have not changed at all. It was like how it was back in the 90s” - Mikkel Lentz.
"We want to dedicate this song and this EP to our fans who grew up together with us over the last 25 years. Also especially to all the Mother’s out there, and of course to our beautiful wives; the mother of our children, for always being there despite our heavy work and tour schedule. We hope you will love our EP as much as we do.”Jascha Richter

DepEd K to 12 Law on its 3rd year anniversary

The Department of Education (DepEd) enjoins the whole country in the observance of the 3rd year anniversary of the signing into law by President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino III, Republic Act No. 10533, An Act Enhancing the Philippine Education System by Strengthening Its Curriculum and Increasing the Number of Years for Basic Education otherwise known as the K to 12 Law.

The K to 12 Program covers 13 years of basic education with the following stages: Kindergarten to Grade 3, Grades 4 to 6, Grade 7 to 10 (Junior High School) and Grades 11 to 12 (Senior High School). This is found to be the best period for learning under basic education. It is also the recognized standard for students and professionals globally.

The Program holds distinct significance this coming School Year 2016-2017 as the Department begins the implementation of the Grade 11 of the Senior High School (SHS) Program, the first of the 2 cohorts (Grades 11 and 12) which were added to the country's 10-year basic education system.

Recently, the Supreme Court on March 15 dismissed several petitions filed against the implementation of the K to 12 Program, thus paving the way for its continued operation particularly the said SHS Program.

As the country girds for the opening of classes this coming School Year 2016-2017 on June 13, 2016, the Department through Education Secretary Br .Armin A. Luistro FSC invites and enjoins everyone to give their full support to the successful implementation of K to 12 Program specially the SHS Program.
