Globe GCash now accepts PRN-based SSS payments from employers

All employers registered in the Social Security System (SSS) can now use GCash in paying contributions of their employees using the Payment Reference Number (PRN), which serves for real-time posting of contribution payments.

SSS President and Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel F. Dooc said that nearly one million employers, including household employers, will benefit from the mobile wallet service powered by Globe Telecom.

“This is part of the continuing improvements in the recently implemented new SSS collection system that makes use of PRNs to allow real-time posting of contributions. In partnership with Globe’s GCash, PRN-based contribution payment is now made faster and easier for business and household employers through their mobile phones,” Dooc said.

The GCash facility is a free mobile application exclusive to Globe or Touch Mobile prepaid users and postpaid subscribers. To pay through GCash, employers must use the system-generated PRNs, which they can obtain from the My.SSS portal in the SSS website.

To start using GCash, employers should register either by downloading the GCash app or dialing *143# to access the self-service menu using their Globe or TM mobile accounts.

Both business and household employers will be asked to assign a four-digit Personal Identification Number (PIN) to proceed with registration. The PIN must be keyed in together with the following information: for business employers, the first and last name of the company representative and complete company address; and for household employers, the employer’s first and last name, and address.

“It’s easy to get started paying SSS contributions with GCash. Once registered, just dial *137 and follow these steps: First, select 2 for 'National Government Agency' from the list of billers. Next, select 'SSS Employer/Household' then press 1 for contribution. In the next field that will appear, enter the PRN and click submit.” Dooc said.

For every successful transaction, GCash users will receive a text confirmation indicating the payment details, employer ID Number, applicable payment period and PRN.

“Globe GCash also offers a safe means for all our registered employers to pay contribution without any service fee,” Dooc explained.

Globe GCash lets users to purchase load credits, do online shopping, transfer funds, and pay bills. Users can put funds in their GCash mobile wallets by going to any authorized GCash partners, and through mobile phone banking and online bank transfers, among others.

For inquiries, employers may contact the GCash Customer Service Support Hotline at 739-2883, SSS Call Center at 920-6446 to 55, or email member_relations@sss.gov.ph.

Get the biggest savings from your trusted brands

One can never go wrong with value-for-money purchases

Manila, Philippines – Everyone loves a “sulit” purchase. Whether you’re on a budget or on a splurging mode, getting the ‘most bang for your buck’ is a simple yet profoundly rewarding feeling.

When it comes to spending, less doesn’t always mean more. Oftentimes, investing early on or upgrading strategically can be more cost-efficient especially for necessary items and essential services at home.

Here are five ways you actually save more in the long run by strategically spending now.

1.      Bigger is better. For regular-use items like detergent soap, shampoo, dishwashing liquid, coffee or milk, buy the bigger or family-sized packages. This eliminates the need for you to buy more often. Items which come in refillable containers also give you more savings because you’ll only have to buy refill packs which are cheaper. The same principle applies to buying in bulk aka wholesale especially for food items you consume daily like rice or eggs.
Bigger is better

2.      Pay in full. Whenever you can, it’s always best to settle your bills in full. This especially applies to credit cards and tuition fees. Paying in full means you avoid interest charges which can significantly compound debt. In most schools, a discount is given to parents who opt to pay in full at the start of the school year. Aside from the savings, not having to worry about succeeding payments is always a priceless feeling.

Reduce clutter

3.
Get an extra

Get an extra. Having an extra of everything is not just convenient, it’s also practical. For instance, buying two pairs of reasonably priced office shoes so you can alternately use them is a smarter choice than buying one expensive pair which will wear out faster if used daily.

4.      Buy in bundles. Aside from saving you money, bundles save you shopping time. It also helps you avoid the temptation of choosing a more expensive brand. There are bundles for food items, toiletries, clothing and even digital services.PLDT’s Best Buy Bundle is a bundle that brings together the digital lifestyle basics of Filipino families—home broadband, mobile connectivity and home entertainment.

BBB_Family

The Best Buy Bundle enables subscribers to mix and match unlimited PLDT Home Fibr, Smart mobile, and Cignal pay TV plans. Aside from the unified bill, subscribers enjoy huge savings of up to 15% off when they bundle three services and 10% off if they choose a pair. The savings are actually quite substantial if you do the math—up to P11,300 in a year. The best part about PLDT’s Best Buy Bundle is that you can actually upgrade your broadband, mobile and pay TV plans and end up saving more.

Making the most of your hard-earned money is always a challenge but it doesn’t mean it can’t be done. The first crucial step is changing the way you think about spending. Remember: Spending less now does not always mean you actually save more. By thinking ahead and looking at the bigger picture, you can make smarter and more practical purchase decisions without compromising quality and comfort.
