Tourism Promotions Board gears up for global competitiveness

To achieve its global competitiveness goal and attract more travelers, visitors, and investors, the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) Philippines, the marketing arm of the Department of Tourism (DOT), is conducting a series of Tourism Marketing Educational Seminars among participants from DOT Regional Offices and local government units (LGUs), which kicked off in Batangas City this June, and will go to Cebu and Butuan in August.



The seminars will focus on skills training and upgrading competency level through workshops, case studies and collaborative research projects. This intends to boost employment rate, improve income opportunities and subsequently increase tourism arrivals and receipts. 

Moreover, the seminar-workshop is expected to empower LGU’s tourism officers with greater knowledge to initiate and oversee successful tourism marketing strategies that can significantly contribute to the country’s economic and social development. 

TPB will also discuss relevant issues affecting the tourism industry that may impact the market and provide opportunity to enhance performance and decision-making skills.

The seminars, which anticipates approximately 60 participants per run, is part of TPB’s initiative to support the National Tourism Development Plan (NTDP) 2016-2022,aiming to build and upscale the implementation of tourism programs to deliver a more competitive, sustainable and inclusive tourism sector.

LG Celebrates History with Tomorrow’s AI Technology

Intramuros, Manila - History was made yet again as the Intramuros Administration (IA), the government agency tasked for the orderly restoration, management, development, and promotion of Intramuros as a national heritage, celebrated its 40th Anniversary in the recently opened Museo de Intramuros.

To celebrate the momentous occasion together with IA, LG Philippines made their presence felt as they simultaneously unveiled their newest line of state of the art OLED TVs, putting side by side our rich and colorful history together with tomorrow’s technology. 

LG PH Managing Director Inkwun Heo led the festivities as he formally handed over six (6) units of the LG TVs to the museum.

 Mr. Heo went on to say 

“This 2019 marks the 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the Philippines and the Republic of Korea. We at LG Philippines remain committed in doing our part to preserve and showcase Philippine history. We hope that through the integration of our industry leading OLED TV technology with riveting historically significant content, we are able to communicate to audiences, both old and new, the importance of Intramuros and Philippine history as a whole”.

Present during the event was event was Atty. Guiller Asido, Administrator of the Intramuros Administration, who was ecstatic about the educational possibilities of the TV donations. Referring to the event’s official hashtag #TheTVThatUnderstandsYou, he quips “I would like to rephrase our hashtag, this is not just the TV that understands you — it is the TV that understands the history and culture of the Filipino people.”

Also unveiled during the program was another gift of LG to IA: a special AVP made by TBA Studios, the creative geniuses behind local hit movies Heneral Luna and GOYO.

The video which featured Museo De Intramuros was directed by JP Habac with cinematography by Pong Ignacio. Habac and Ignacio were awe-struck with how vivid the color rendition of the LG OLED TVs was.

4As inks partnership with Cannes Lions

The 4As is now the Official Festival Representative of Cannes Lions and Spikes Asia in The Philippines

The Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies of the Philippines (4As) has been appointed as the Official Festival Representative for the Philippines of two of the most prestigious creative festivals in the world—Cannes Lions and Spikes Asia.

The agreement was announced at the 4As Agency of the Year award ceremony at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel last July 25. The partnership was made in principle at the recent 2019 Cannes Lions Festival in France with Phil Thomas, Chairman of Cannes Lions and David Guerrero, Chairman of the 4As, on behalf of the organization’s 2019 board. The contract was signed this month.

“This partnership between the 4As and Cannes Lions strengthens our belief in creativity as the key to effective communications,” Guerrero said. “We believe that through this agreement, we can help inspire more creative professionals and showcase the world-class talent of Filipinos on the global stage.”
